| Orina followed them along, taking in the little details of the device and the apparent transformation that Henrique undertook. Something about killing Kudamon—that's what that Western boy implied, right? While she wanted to continue panicking her little heart out and contribute nothing to the peace of the conversation, she had to do something if it meant that there wasn't going to be the killing of a sentient, talking creature. Orina quickly dug into her bag, shuffling through the books and pencils there, hoping to find anything that could help.
"Um," she tried, only tangentially confident, "We can probably take this to a better place, I think!" She clasped her hands together, rubbing her thumbs against one another. "My parents are home, but maybe we can find a karaoke box somewhere, maybe we can talk there...! And... peacefully, maybe...? Wow um, actually, I just remembered where one is, just right now! Let's go, how about it? It's quiet, we have a room to ourselves, and it's totally private... maybe we can settle this over some soft drinks... or food..." She noted out of the corner of her eye the bullet that had been slipped into an odd corner of her bag, but quickly returned to facing António. She offered a weak, apologetic smile, hoping she had done her job to pacify the situation.

How to get someone mad: a guide apparently written by Kudamon. She paused to watch the two with a slight sense of nervosity belying her anxiousness beneath. She hadn't quite intended to take it that far, and she was honestly a little bit surprised by the reaction―she didn't think herself to be that belligerent, was she? Well, nevertheless, she watched the two until she managed to open the zipper. Noting this, she pushed the bullet in and let out another ladylike huff. "Well, I personally don't care where I go. I fully intend to bring my new tamer to... well, wherever you'd get a Digivice, then I'll break her into the Digital World where we can get to training. I personally don't care to join you, but I go where my new tamer goes up until she's ready to depart. I don't suppose you'd be friendly enough to tell us where we might acquire a Digivice, so we will just make do on our own, then. Hmph!" With that, she pulled the zipper closed after her as she slipped into her "new tamer's" backpack, retreating into her protective casing in case the other two had anything else to say about it.

Seeing things we beggining to calm down, António allowed himself to breath. "You don`t just aqquire a digivice. They appear by themselves when there is a strong emotional bond between a digimon and his tamer. There are some exceptions, me and Henrique are the proof of it, but unless you gonna tell me you also got turned into a digimon by some scientist, I dpn`t think you will come to be one of the "exceptions". But one thing is for certain: You can`t purchase a digivice." António continued speaking, still quite angry. "My partner is righ, thought his attittude may be a bit too impulsive. I will apologize for both of us. We didn`t mean to be rude, it`s just that we just came back from the digital world and a... we lost some friends to some "not so friendly" digimon. Those happened to be quite arrogant in their manners, so my partner may have created a certain assossiation...." Henrique tried to explain "Henrique stop that, or I swear I`ll make a vídeo of you drinking from a baby bottle while wearing diapers. And you know who I`ll send it too." "Sorry, sorry, please don`t do that." "Good then. If you think it`s private, then we can to that Karaoke box or wathever it is. But Henrique..." "I have to go back to the bag don`t I?" "Yep, sorry about that buddy." "It`s alright." Henrique devolved into his in-training form. "But me big boy later, wight?" Henrique asked as António picked him up to put him back into the bag "Yeah, sure. It´s a promisse." António replied

| Orina took note of the two's conversation, nodding as any information was directed to her. "I understand... I'm sorry for your loss. Um... I think there's a box this way, maybe. And I'm sorry for how miss Kudamon is acting." Orina looks around the streets to orient herself, then starts off in the direction that she thinks downtown Shibuya should be from here. "Um... maybe while we're walking, you can explain a little bit about what Digimon are, and digivices, and tamers...? I think Digimon are supposed to be, um, these little guys... right?" She motions to her bag, then to António's, shifting her place in the lead to be a little closer to António's side to better hear and be heard.
"And they... digivolve, I think. Which either makes them big or small, and maybe scarier... and digivices help that... but only special people have digivices? But Kudamon was able to pry the lid off my bento box with her claws, so buttons shouldn't be too hard for her... so why does Kudamon want me to have a digivice instead of just operating one herself? I... think you were saying that only a bond between humans and Digimon can make a digivice, but what happens if it's stolen? T-that's... possible, right? Oh gosh... t-this sounds kinda dangerous... and I still don't believe what's happening too much... I'm sorry if I'm slow to understand." |

"Yeah, they digivolve. Get more data into them, usually by a tamer channeling its own emotions onto the digimon throught the digivice. If there is no solid emotional bond between a human and a digimon, they can`t be partners. Usually digivices show up when they meet. Digimon can`t operate digivices by themselves, it simply doesn`t work. They need a human`s emotions. Me and Henrique were an exception, but there`s a story behind it and it ain`t pleasant...." António began to explain. "Stowy Time?" Henrique asked from the bag "Henrique, please be quiet. And I just said it`s unpleasant. I only tell it to her if she insists. And maybe after Kudamon might stop playing "pick your tamer". But as I was saying, me and Henrique are exceptions in the whole digivice thing, but even we had a deep emotional bond. I`m not going to lie: this is dangerous. Henrique just told you in fact: we lost friends in the digital world, the place where digimon come from. However, on the tamer side of the equation there`s nothing to worry about: I never heard of any bad tamers and digivices only work with their owners, as far as I know. Hey look is that the box you were telling us about?" "Big boy time?" "Not just yet buddy. But we should be getting closer."
(OOC: Sorry about the delay, didn`t see Kudamon`s message till now.)

| Orina nodded, taking in the information as she approached the karaoke box. "Um, I'll be a short moment, then I'll ask some questions, I think," she mumbled hurriedly. She meekly went up to the door to the box, grasping the door's handle and pushing in. She stepped back from the door, still holding it open, to give António room to enter, then let the door close after him. "I'll be just a moment." Orina went up to the receptionist and sorted through her bag to find her wallet. "Excuse me, we'd like to rent a box for half an hour. Um... thank you very much." She took out a 1000 yen bill to offer it to the clerk, who split it up into the change necessary. The clerk offered a, "thank you, please come this way," and led the group over to the room.
Once they got situated inside, the clerk went through a few formalities—'you can order drinks or food, the menu's on the sofa, thank you and have a good day'—before the group was finally left alone. Orina walked over to the couch and tucked her skirt against her legs, then sat down. "Um... okay... so you said Digimon make strong emotional bonds with humans? How does a digivice appear to humans that just meet with Digimon if they've, um, just met and don't really have a bond? It's not about miss Kudamon, I'm just curious."
Oh. Right. Kudamon. Orina unzipped her bag and shuffled through for Kudamon's bullet, upon brushing against it gingerly taking it and equally gently setting it beside her. "And, um, about that... story you were mentioning. You don't have to say if you don't want to, I think. It sounds really bad, so I don't really want to... rubberneck or anything, if you're not comfortable talking about it. Sorry." |

Kudamon stayed in hiding in her casing which was in turn in Orina's backpack up until she felt it being lifted and then gently placed down on something moderately soft. The Digimon came out from the bullet to cross her arms and watch the other two with a lifted chin... up until she spotted the menu. Curious, Kudamon reached over to grab it and open it, surprisingly dexterous for lacking thumbs (though apparently her forefinger worked just as well), flipping through it to look over the menu. Fries, vegetables, cabbage (who salts cabbage?), and others went down the list until Kudamon noted the meat options. She looked over those options until she settled on something she decided she'd like and let go of one end of the menu to gently tap Orina's shoulder. "Orina, my new tamer temporarily without a device, please order me this," she said with a refined tone, pointing at the pork cutlet menu option. "I am quite hungry, but I shall allow you to partake in this as well should you order it." She smiled with a gentlewomanly huff. "Though, of course, the other two will have to ask," she shoots them a look before returning it to Orina, "before I would be in good enough grace to offer them to share."

They entered the karaoke box. Then the Kudamon made a suggestion about them begging for a piece of their food. "No thank you. We don`t need your food. We brought supplies from the digital world." He commented. It wasn`t a lie, not that it was completly true either. When they were finnaly left alone, the girl asked a question about digivices again. Her intentions were obvious as they were poorly disguiced. "Digivices appear to humans and digimon who made emotional bonds with each other. As far as I know, me and Henrique are the only exceptions. You and Kudamon may eventually form a connection strong enought to create a digivice, but it will take Kudamon to open up and stop acting as she is at the moment if she wants it. The connection has to be in both ends, not just you being her waitress. No offense." António answered as he took Henrique off his bag and put him in the ground. Then he also took out his digivice and let Henrique evolve to Tooldramon again "Okay buddy, you`re free for now." "Thanks!" Then came the request to hear their story. "Henrique we have a tendency to not share brain moments and you have yours back, so what do you think?" António asked "António, I..." Henrique replied, suprised his tamer actually asked his opinion. he had to take the chance "...To be honest, I believe we should be honest. Besides, as much as I don`t like hearing it, it may provide answers we owe them now." "What do you mean, honest?" "About the reason we came to them. Forgive me for this." Henrique approached Kudamon and kneeled "I will ask you forgiveness for our rudeness earlier and beg you for food. We do have supplies, but they are in short term. We are now homeless and we will explain why now. António shall you begin?" António was shocked his partner had just did that. He hoped he knew what he was doing "Okay, buddy. You should sit down, this is a long tale, I think. As you may have guessed, me and Henrique are not exactly from Japan. We came from Portugal, a small country in the end of Europe. And yes, I said WE because Henrique used to be...human. We were best friends ever since we met. One day during a school trip there was a problem with the boat and it sank. Everyone lived through it, but we had to swim to a desert Island. There we found he digivice. It was colorless back then. That was also the day that we met that damm scientist. he invited us to come to Japan for an experimente and without thinking twice I said yes. Later, that same guy conducted the experiment that turned Henrique into this. When he realised what happened he simply ran to the apartment and stole everything in it, before checking out. That day we became homeless and pennyless but the digivice sincronized with us. Our digivice didn`t appear to us, we found it, that makes us the exception. But even we needed the bond. The only reason the digivice didn`t do it before that day it`s because Henrique wasn`t a digimon yet."António explained "That`s one of the reasons we came to you today. We managed to make friends in the digital world, gathered supplies, but we don`t have shelter and our food is running out. I`m sorry for this António, I know what may be at stake, but I must do this..." Henrique continued, briefly turning to his tamer before turning back to Kudamon and the her "tamer" , all the while still on his knees "I must humbly ask you to share your food and shelter, for we lack those. In turn, we will assit in any way we can."

| Orina wet her lips over once, considering the story and details that the tamer and partner pair explained for her. "I'd love to help the two of you... just let me think about what I can do." She clasped both of her hands and began to play with her fingers, gazing up to the ceiling in thought. She was sure that she couldn't just up and take a strange, homeless foreigner into her house—her parents wouldn't let her hear the end of how she was endangering herself and the family, and how she should have her priorities for school so she could be very smart and have a bright future ahead of her—etc. etc, but she knew that they needed it. Maybe Orina could steal them into her room, and hide them somewhere... but they didn't have a lot of furniture, and if her parents went in without knocking, the plan would be wrecked.
If that's the case, where could she possibly shelter them if her house was unavailable? Her family lived in Shinjuku, which wasn't exactly a place known for having giant houses. The food would be fine, she was sure she'd be able to sneak them food from out of the house, or maybe they could all split some cheaper food from day to day. The question still remained, however: where to keep them?
Hotels were a definite no. Orina's budget was small and capsule hotels, while convenient, would suck it dry within only a few days. She didn't have any more than ¥10,000 at any given time... Wait. The purpose of giving shelter is to allow someone a place to hole up, be safe, and sleep...
Some place that could keep them overnight... cheap price... decent privacy...
"Have you two ever heard of net cafes? I don't think Portugal has them, but, um... they're cheap, and I think I can help put you up in one for a little while. I also know where we can try to find a good part-time job for you guys. It costs about 1,200 yen to put you two in a cafe for one night, and I can probably help you two on that budget for a week, I think. My house is also empty during the day if you need a different place to go to sleep at... and we have food there, too. Um... does it sound okay?"

Sleepless nights were really beginning to become Darian's least favourite aspects of any day. Darian was going on his first day since another night of no sleep and it really wasn't working out well for him. Since he walked out on Gabe, he found himself walking the streets until the sun rose again. He sustained himself by stopping in various shops, requesting coffee and/or a caffeinated beverage of some kind, and moving on.
Where had that left the brunette, well, somehow he managed to find himself in some rent-a-karaoke shop, or whatever. He couldn't really explain it, Darian didn't frequent these places often. And when he was told he had to rent a room in order to order any food, he didn't think he'd be returning. The only thing really keeping him from leaving was the fact that he wasn't sure his legs would carry him any further.
A few minutes earlier he had watched two children, one with a carrying case of sorts and the other with a schoolbag enter one of the private boxes. Could it have been a date? The two did seem to be of similar ages so the possibility was there. Deciding to shrug it off for another few moments of brainless rest he reached to his hip, unlatching his D-Arc from its case.
He mindlessly pushed a few of the buttons, admiring how different the Digivice was from his previous D-3. He wondered how easily it would be now for him to be identified as a tamer in the human world. Like, D-Arc's were still new, a lot of tamers were still carrying D-3's. Would they even recognize a D-Arc?
Curiosity about his surroundings gaining the better of him, he switched the D-Arc to the map setting. This same setting was also found on D-3's as well. It showed a small holographic view of the surrounding area, (Of course Darian was hiding the hologram aspect) if a Digivice was in the area, there would be a red dot pinging on the map.
And lo and behold, there was a dot. Now the map couldn't pinpoint the exact location, it could only tell him it was close by. Darian's eyebrows raised with another bout of curiosity, he was beginning to think that the saying "Digivice's attract other Digivice's" he was told five years ago at the beginning of his journey was actually true fact.
"Well would you look at that.." Darian muttered quietly with a small smirk on his face.
Today could prove to be entertaining after all.

After hearing the story, Orina seemed thougthfull. To be honest, Henrique was a bit offended that Kudamon had not replied despite him having BEGGED for they`re food, just as she had asked in fact. ANt+onio, on the other hand, was simply glad she wasn`t speaking. He felt a bit humiliated for Henrique`s behaviour just now, thought he knew Henrique to be usually right. Finnaly Orina made them a proposal about a net café. "Yeah, I heard of them. Not sure if we have them back in Portugal, but if you can give us a hand, we would really be thankfull." António agreed. "And about the job, we we`re also thinking of getting one, something in which we had to repair something. I`m good at it, so all that António would have to do would be sneaking me in." Henrique commented, lifting his right hand and opening the box attached to it, revealing an enormous collection of tools inside. "Sure." António once more agreed. "Hum....António?" "Yes? Henrique you can stand now, you have arledy begged enought. No need to keep kneeling." "Did you take out your digivice?" "No why?" "Because I just heard a digivice`s map setting being activated." António took out his digivice. It wasn`t it, as his device seemed normal. He looked around carefully, trying to see if a digivice had appeared for Orina and Kudamon after all. Still, nothing. There was only one conclusion left: "There is another tamer nearby." António stated. "Should we go looking for him?" Henrique asked "No, you three stay here. Please. I`ll go and see if there is anyone around." Henrique nodded in agreement and António left slowly, looking everywhere to check for anything "suspicious".

| "O-okay," she replied shakily, a little accidentally letting slip an excited expression. Another tamer! Maybe this person knew a little more about Digimon, and they could help try to explain things to Orina! Fresh perspectives always help, right? She watched António go, kicking her feet idly back and forth against the couch. "Maybe we should go order that food now, huh? You said, um, tonkatsu, Kudamon?" She took up the menu in her lap and began flipping through it, gleefully imagining the taste of this or that or the reaction of either of the Portuguese partners to the (presumably) different Japanese food.
Once she had been satisfied with her selection, she went over to the phone on the wall and dialed the front desk, beginning to relay the order with some pauses in between. "H-hello? Um, yes. Um, I'd like to order some food... if that's okay, um, I think. Um, yes. Um, I'd like the tonkatsu. Just normal, please. Yes. Um, yes, please. Could I order some rice curry as well, if that's okay? Um, okay. Yes, okay. Ten minutes? Yes, thank you so much! Okay, we'll be here. Okay. Um, bye!" She set the phone against its receiver to end the call, then turned to face Kudamon with her hands clasped behind her back. "Ten minutes to food!" |

Kudamon nodded with a smile, picking up her cartridge. "Food it is, then! Excellent. When they come back I'll be very willing to let them have some of my food when it comes in ten minutes!!" she opened the door and hollered after them before closing the door gently and returning her cartridge seat. She paused for a moment. "So we are supposed to create some emotional bond in order to earn our digivices, then―if I understand correctly, of course." She cleared her throat and adjusted the collar on her neck. "I fully intend to be your Digimon, but I will not properly obey your command should you attempt to make another Digimon your partner before I have the chance. That being said, I intend to make every attempt to achieve this emotional bond between you and I before some other uncouth knuckle-dragger tries to make themselves known to your sensitive side. "I will start with more proper introductions. I am Kudamon, a Rookie Digimon. Rookies are perhaps considered as the basic form which is commonly used, the other most common being Champion form, which I find to be the most common. Generally, Digivolution lines go like, ah... here." She tries going over to rifle through the poor girl's pack to take out a sketchbook and a pencil to write with. If permitted, she then sits back down, laying out the sketchbook in front of her and drawing seven circles in a line and connecting all of them. "This is the "Fresh" stage, which I will label as "-1", she said as she marked the page with the appropriate words and numbers, continuing to do so each time she mentioned labeling the circles. "When Digimon hatch out of Digitamas, they emerge as the Fresh stage, which is infantile and cannot speak for want of comprehending words. The second stage, "In-Training", will be labeled as "0", which is a step between Rookie and Fresh. These tend to have moderate understanding of language, but not terrifically fluent; those who are fluent are not miracles, but are still uncommon. "The next stage, as mentioned, is the "Rookie" stage, which is now "1". This is the stage I am currently in, and I have suspicions based on size that the Digimon with that Tamer is a Rookie-level, though he may be Champion as well. "Champion" comes after "Rookie, and is hereby "2". This is called "Adult" stage in some dialects of the Digital World, and this is the stage most Digimon stay in, finding it the perfect balance between power and energy, as Digivolving takes extreme levels of energy to both commit and commit to. I should make the mention now: Digivolution in the wild is rare and the next levels to come are even scarcer since most Digimon only find that they could be able to reach Champion before they cannot manage any more. "The "Ultimate" level is hereby "3" and is also very scarce―a form I seek, which is, as mentioned before, very hard to achieve―and let's nevermind Mega and Super Mega... those forms are for the Royal Knights and digital gods." As she says this, she crosses out the last two bubbles. "Well, then, any questions?"

When Orina mentioned there would be someone bringing food, Henrique`s mind began to race. Kudamon didn`t seem to mind, she simply commnented she would be willing to share. It was good she finnaly spoke, but the problema was another one now. "Are you insane? You have any idea of what may happen if anyone walks in while I`m in this form? I don`t exactly fit in a bag anymore and I think a mechanised Dragon isn`t the usual day-to-day sight. Oh my, oh my, oh my... what if they call DATS? They`ll be coming after us like cats coming after mice, except that this cats can blow up the hole, if they have to. And we can`t call António, he left arledy..." Henrique complained, with a heavy amount of gesturing. He did his best to keep his voice down, but it was very hard since his body seemed to want to shout it all out. However, not too long after, Kudamon returned to the digivice and tamer conversation, as if she didn`t even hear him.
In the meantime, António searched for the other tamer. He bashed into what seemed to be a 18-19 year old boy. "I`m so sorry, I..." António began, until he saw a digivice in the ground. It didn`t appear to be his. He pointed at the device "Is that yours?"

| Oh, right, Digimon are weird. Not that she needed to be reminded—but other people would think that Digimon are far weirder than she did, having had everything already mostly explained to her. "I-I'm sorry! Um, don't worry, um, mister Henrique, I-I'll stand outside, that'll fix the problem... I think." She meekly crept open to the door and opened it, stepping over to the other side and gently letting it click shut behind her. This isn't a huge thing to panic about... ri-right? They weren't actually going to go inside with the food instead of just meeting up with her near the entrance of the room... right? She pet through her hair twice over, worriedly attempting to ground herself. Nothing to worry about.
Maybe an important part of being a tamer, something that had been glossed over in the conversations so far, was being very good at sneaking a Digimon away from human eyes. Was it systematic enough that it could be called subterfuge? That word was scary... and Orina was definitely not a stealthy person. Maybe this taming thing wasn't for her. They were saying that digivices are supposed to appear when partners finally meet up, and hers was nowhere to be found. Maybe that was supposed to be a sign... but what could she do if she wasn't a tamer? Just forget about Digimon, and walk off pretending that a bullet-weasel hadn't claimed her as her property?
The tamers seemed like they might need help with something, but she was unsure of how to offer them any aside from the obvious of getting António on his feet here. Well, maybe that question could be saved for later. For now... waiting around! Orina smoothed her skirt down against her legs and sat down, pulling her knees up to her chest and resting her hands against the mountains of frills near her ankles. |
