From "The First"“Of all the crazy…”
It wasn’t hard to see how the Starmon had some reservations about all this. On an ordinary day, he was a nice, upstanding representative of Rustport, who dealt with matters concerning the other major cities on a daily basis. He might not have gotten along with everyone, but he liked his job, he kept the peace, and everything ran smoothly under his watch.
Which was why, when this entire mystery practically fell into his own backyard, he was at a loss! At the front of the Trailmon car, the Sheriff Digimon found himself folding his arms and tapping his foot, looking out the window as the vehicle glided along on the freshly laid train tracks. And though the rest of the group was likely on the Trailmon car with him, Starmon found himself more concerned with what was to come.
Looking out the window on the right side of the train, the group could already see the outskirts of the town. Though that massive steel pillar of a fortress was definitely the first to draw the eye, the group’s focus would probably be on the ground floor. Guardromon, Chessmon, Thundermon, Hookmon – these were just but a few of the several Machine Digimon that could be seen in the outskirts, soldering together new structures and pulling up metal walls with powerful cable. They were an industrious and tireless lot, which was how they were able to make so much progress in one day.
But the question remained, exactly why were they doing this at all? The Starmon’s unease might not have been the only instance of it in the room.
… But he was definitely the only one uneasy about it for the reasons he was:
”Friggin… I hate dealing with these motivated types. Come up one day, build a city, next thing they know they want to source a cannon to get to the moon. This whole thing ain’t practical, if you’re askin’ me.” He shook his head. ”Alright, Starmon, we’re almost there. Get a nice, big smile on your face, and be ready to get your ears open…”
Yeah. Perhaps not the most motivated ‘leader’ here, but on such short notice, what was one really going to do?

It was a circus, no doubt about it. Zachary always prided himself on that NEXUS was a group of Digimon who were always unique. Still, the group they had was an odd one too.
Zachary and Faustian, aka Zaber and Stein, as were their aliases in NEXUS, heard about the mysterious beam of light and town and how it caused a stir for many organizations. It was a worthy concern, but still, new things appeared in the Digital World all the time. It was constantly growing and evolving, just like the Digimon themselves. Regardless, NEXUS also were eager to learn new things the Digital World had to offer. So the two were now on a mission to further aid the investigation, alongside this colorful collection of Digimon, including another Starmon. Zachary almost mistook him from the one they knew back in NEXUS... though they were both kind of eccentric.
Sitting on his seat on the Trailmon, Zachary saw the outskirts of the mysterious town and the Digimon in the distance. Beside him was his partner-- Panthermon. The jaguar-sized rookie Digimon with black fur slept on the train, taking a 'cat nap'. Though appeared to be sleeping... he was very much awake and aware where they were going. He too felt the tension on the train and how uneased both the Trailmon and the Starmon were.
"And I thought our Starmon was a crazy mon," Panthermon sleepily growled without squinting an eye. Zachary rolled his eyes as he patted the Panther's head, and caused a soft purr of appreciation.
Aware that he was not alone, Zachary looked to Faust curiously. "What do you think is there? The reports mentioned the mysterious tower and also the town but... I don't know. The reports say the tower reach as far as the Elysium Skies. And that is saying something. But Do you think it could be something hostile or malevolent?" he asked.
Whether they would go into a fight or not, Zachary was confident. Both he and Panthermon had leveled up significantly and felt sure of himself they could handle anything in this mysterious village...

Sounds of the tracks repeating as the Trailmon continued on to their destination, letting his ears tilt and focus on the noises erupting from sounds outside the windows. The hums of the Trailmon traveling still caused a sort of rhythmic patterns to this unknown destination for him, Rustport. A journey well beyond his usual realm of comfort, though his actions for this task was to learn more then just the reaches of his home.
Agress lifted his head to glance out the Trailmon, having the Trailmon’s windows reflect the mask he wore with the false eyes painted onto them. Already having his attention captured in the fields of metal, clad in plates of this steel all driving his attention to pinnacle of their craftsmanship. The steel pillar breaking the horizon sights, a fortress built in astonishing speeds, the whole idea of all this was concerning to him as it might affect business back home.
Even during his slouched sitting position, keeping his clawed hands hidden in his pockets as he watched the ever growing sight of their destination. Seeing the other Digimon shifting in the background, Chessmon, Thundermon and various machine like Digimon, treating this all like a factory. His own worries were danced in his mind for a moment, what is the urgency of such coordination on a large scale like this?
Agress’s attention quickly jolted in the direction of the Starmon as they started speaking out-loud, even making him sit up. Moving from his slouched posture as the Starmon kept talking, making sure he listened into every word being spoke attentively.
“I agree with you Starmon, nothing good can come from such vast levels of construction so quickly.” Agress stood up about the cabin, making his way to sit closer to his speaking target.
“Nothing is practical when you have a tower of steel violating the sky like this...” Agress rolled his head in attempt to stretch, keeping.
He halted for a minute before having a soft laugh to himself when he looked to Starmon, bowing his head for a moment but never taking off the mask. “Agress, its my name. At least most of us here seem united in our curiosity for what is happening here. “
He spoke while tossing his head back as a gesture to the other talking on the Trailmon, waiting to hear more from the Starmon. Catching the idea that if he needed to bounce information off of his best bet was the Starmon he moved beside, though his attention moved back out towards the metal pillar.
Its very shape and existence started pissing him off.

"Are you seriously not done yet? We're already late. Do you know how hard it's going to be to hop onto a Trailmon in motion?" A mildly irate ModokiBetamon loudly scolded their partner while clacking away at a laptop set upon David's bedroom floor. Ziggy, as this digimon was called, was doing some basic algebra in an attempt to nail down the coordinates the pair would have to portal to in order to join the others. "Ya, let's go." David said as he entered into the bedroom, drying off wet hands on the bottom of a bright green tee. He moved over to the laptop Ziggy was using and unplugged a very special pair of shoes from it. "Just need these, then we can go."Ziggy had finally finished doing their calculations. They weren't a great mathematician, but the coordinates should be close enough. With the time dilation between the real and digital worlds, there was a much larger acceptable margin for error. "Put these in your digivice and we'll arrive right onto our ride." The frog digimon would then take their normal position by hopping up onto a dresser ledge, then up onto David's head. "Ready?"~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Soon, upon the Trailmon which their fellow mission goers were traveling, a crack appeared in the middle of the air. Quickly it began to spider out and fall to the ground like broken glass. On the other end stood David and Ziggy in the boy's kempt room. As soon as the young boy stepped through, the bits of fallen reality picked themselves back up and returned to their correct positions, sealing back up as if nothing had ever happened. David took a moment to look around and get his bearings while seeing who all else was on the train with him. No one he recognized, but that just meant more potential friends. "Hi! I'm-WOAH." Before he could get even two words out, David's attention was pulled out the window to the city-in-progress. He moved over to the window to get as close a look as possible, smooshing his hands and forehead into the glass. As David ran up, Ziggy shifted himself backward atop the boy's head, so he didn't unintentionally ram his own into the glass. "That's why we're here. This all sprang up in a day. Rustport needs an investigation and you're good at asking weird questions no one else would think of." This was true, but Ziggy really just wanted to do something meaningful with David. Their last real adventure had ended up with them caught up in some sort of pirate war, and they had been playing it pretty safe since then. This investigation seemed like a good opportunity to slowly poke out of that comfort bubble. "But weren't you saying something?"There was a moment of confusion easily visible across David's face as he peeled himself from the glass before remembering his situation. "OH!" There were other people here. Turning back around to face the rest of the compartment, "Right. My name is David. Nice to meet you all." Such a polite boy. Sometimes. Everyone is searching for a world where they belong. A place of light, free of falsehood.

Some time had passed once more after the most recent adventures that Faustein had, namely one wherein he had infiltrated the giant moving digimon with a city atop its back known as ElDoradimon along with a group of others to investigate the origins of a mysterious SOS signal with the objective of saving a certain Xros General from mortal danger; and the other which entailed him having a surprise visit from and battle against a certain Musyamon now turned Asuramon and rescuing a certain Renamon X's younger sister from captivity, but in the process losing his two former digimon partners, Taser the Kokuwamon and Lego the ShadowToyAgumon as well as most of his right lower limb. Since then, he had replaced said lower limb with an advanced bionic prosthetic from the same maker that had crafted his bionic left upper limb and then gotten back to his daily routine, both in his professional life as a practicing physician-scientist and in his ever-burgeoning, still ongoing mad science research. So, despite all the recent trouble, normalcy had returned in some modicum to him. However, all of that changed when he received a summons from Zachary aka Zaber, the director of the team he was part of aka NEXUS. Upon arrival, Zaber had acquainted him with what seemed to be an urgent mission, albeit only one of investigation and contact establishment. After reading the mission request folder closely along with all the contents therein, Faustein had accepted, of course, due to his insatiable curiosity and off the two of them had gone to join said mission. That brings Faustein's story to the present time, wherein he was riding a Trailmon with a group of others including Zaber. Why is it that the Digital World is determined to guide me to this Wild West meme of a town? Ah, how troublesome this is...Faustein had been thus silently lamenting the fact that, once again, his fate had guided him back to Rustport Town when his reverie was interrupted by his commanding officer Zaber, the director of Nexus and his partner for this special mission who had asked him about his thoughts on the pillar of light mentioned in the reports that led to the two of them being on this Trailmon along with the other mission members heading into Rusport currently. Zaber aka Zachary had also mused aloud about the purpose of the giant steel tower and had asked him whether he thought the tower and its denizens and architects were malevolent in any way. So, Faustein spent a few moments in silent contemplation while steepling his fingers and resting his elbows on the padded armrests of his seat as was his usual habit when thinking deeply. After several moments, he responded to Zaber "Hmm, report perusal complete. Initial possibility estimate: 3. Possibility A: Some manner of mag-lev launch ramp for some as yet unknown purpose...Possibility B: Tower of Babel...Possibility C: Sponsor's unparalleled hubris. Further generation of possibilitiies significantly dependent upon situationally generated data. Contents of Tower: possibly commensurate with and variable based on aforementioned scenarios...Moral Alignment: currently unestimable, but possibility of further definition dependent upon situational data."He said while slowly opening his eyes but keeping his fingers and hands still steepled and resting upon his seat's armrests. As always, his voice was a rich baritone and somehow hypnotically melodious one thst resounded throigh the Trailmon and even seemed to linger in thr air ever so briefly before fadinb away, with the overall accent being a subtle fusion of German and Japanese. As he responded, his unnervingly effulgent blood red eyes which were currently hidden behind the polarized lenses of his Google Glasses meandered over the almost imperceptible figures of the various digimon roaming about in the city around the steel towerand then examined the city itself or rather what little could be seen of it from his seat in the Trailmon and finally did a once-over of the main highlight of thr area, aka the giant steel tower itself. He was about to continue, but then fell silent as his eyes shifted to the sight of the others on the train and of course, noticing the newcomer, a young boy with a rather unusual Betamon atop his head who had arrived and introduced himself just then. Ah, now we have our last team member, eh? That is quite the intriguing Betamon specimen he has, indeed. Faustein mused silently thus before turning back to Zaber and waited silently to see what his reaction and/or response would be to his remarks. In all, the group was largely in agreement that this was absolutely insane. Because really, how did a 'tower appearing overnight' somehow translate into the founding of a new city? To not think that there was something else behind it. The sheriff gave a sigh, idly listening between Zachary and Faust's banter about just what the tower could be.
The sheriff threw his two cents in: "If I had to guess, its some sort of glorified radio tower. But I ain't the type to try and dig into this supernatural shit." He could at least take comfort in the fact that this current group more-or-less shared his sentiment. A nod was also returned to Agress:
"Charmed, names Starmon. Looks like you made quite the trek to get out here." Starmon took a look out through the window. "As it stands, all we really got to do is give 'em lip service. Figure out who to talk to, shoot the breeze to see if we can figure out what's going on, exchange some contact information, and then give it all back to Rustport. Maybe they'll do somethin' with it, or maybe by the time we get back, the information we get'll already be irrelevant."
Well, so long as everyone was on the same page, this would all go smoothly enough. Even if the last group was a bit late to the train, Starmon was sure that this group could -
What the fuck.
What was the natural reaction to seeing a portal appear at the top of the train, and drop in two unknown figures? Honestly, the Starmon looked like he was about to pop a vein, and between the appearance of that portal and David's introduction, the Starmon had already drawn his pistol, and had it ready and primed to fire.
Yup - that was about a second away from getting a lot worse than it had to be. Stowing away his weapon, the Starmon scolded the two: "SIT. DOWN."
Honestly, it wouldn't have been surprising if someone else had already jumped the two - but presuming that peace was maintained for the moment, it wouldn't take long for the Trailmon to reach the destination, albeit in more awkward silence than would have been necessary otherwise. As they rolled up to the station, the Starmon would address the group: "Guess I shoulda brought this up earlier, but we're trying to be peaceful here. Tower's strange, yes, but let's try to avoid talking about the big elephant in the room while we're here. Smiles, handshakes, peaceful gestures. Sure ya'll can manage that."
A glare was given to the last group to arrive, but aside from that, things would proceed relatively normally. The Trailmon would come to a stop, and with a whistle, a door at the front would open - and, naturally, they would be greeted by someone from the city, a Guardromon.
"Ah, welcome! You must be the group from Rustport?"
Rustport, along with Whitewater, were the two cities to call in first, and the moment the Starmon stepped out of the train, his personality seemed to do a 180. A smile on his face, a hand stretched out to greet their greeter. "Ayup! Name's Starmon - pardon the size of the crowd here, but we're hardly the only ones interested in this."
"Indeed! Looks like... one from the Dark Area and two from the human world? Well, can't blame you, this has all been so sudden!"
That much, they could all agree with! "Anyways, I'm just here to mark that you got here. See that green building up there on the right? We'll have someone to meet ya'll there in about fifteen minutes - so feel free to take a bit of a look around!"

Numerous thoughts ran through his mind, trying to calculate the best way to introduce himself and what questions could be useful. He needed his questions to be precise so he wanted to think them over carefully, suddenly his thoughts ended and focused only on the newest member of the group showing up late to the train. Says something to be so fashionably late you teleport into the Trailmon, though the action catching him off guard Agress acted as such.
Standing up and pulling his hands from his pockets, though all he got to do was stand up, halfway leaning into a combat stance. Soon having his attention caught by the little energetic human running to the Trailmons window. This was new, now having actually stood up and looked around besides keeping to himself, there were other humans.
Scratching at his chin, this was.. a unique first experience with humans, which trailing onto with that thought, Agress glanced down to his hand. Catching glimpse of a cloth ring to his finger, I guess this will be good exercise. He spoke clearly inside his mind, finishing up his mental reminiscing, he turned his attention down to the Starmon.
Deciding to give his focus on the one speaking with a clear idea of how to handle the next step. Though hearing the other two companions ramble on about events only made him shrug. Hearing the Starmon going on about avoiding the elephant in the room and being peaceful, Agress patted his face in an attempt to psyche himself up.
As the Trailmon door open, stepping out into the new area, Agress carried a wide smile and straight posture, seeing the Guadromon he followed the same pacing the Starmon had with the introductions. Waiting for Starmon to finish giving his piece, Agress bowed his head down in a more traditional greeting.
“Yes, we are from Rustport. I am Agress, excuse the intrusion but I was delighted to see and had to come to see for myself.” keeping any unwanted comments for later knowing there is no point in questioning things just off the Trailmon. Following the instructions, he gave thanks by bowing his head to the Guardromon again before heading off towards the designated building, making a personal note of the building’s color before standing just outside the entrance of the building.
Waiting a moment to say his first question till everyone or just him and the Starmon were out of earshot of the wandering Digimon or the Guardromon. “If you are welcoming Mon’s from other locations from a designated travel location, why do you need a Champion tier to do it? Even if unannounced wouldn’t it be to have a Rookie greet us? Certainly, a fine way to make this even more questionable.”
Standing around outside the instructed building, Agress took the time to scope out the surrounding area as much as he could from this current viewpoint.

Faustein watched as the others in the group, namely the Starmon and the other unfamiliar digimon, had reacted rather violently to the sudden appearance of the little boy and his digimon partner since they had stepped into the train through a portal. However, given the circumstances, that type of reaction was only to be expected perhaps.
These two seem rather voilatile, perhaps it would be prudent to err on the side of caution in my dealings with them.
Faustein mused silently as he watched the interaction between the little kid who was now fascinated with the outside scenery as he watched through the glass window of the Trailmon as it went by and the Starmon which scolded him and ordered him to sit down so as to not cause a scene.
That child was so very close to being either ripped to shreds or shot to death. Well, at the very least, these two can be replied upon to be vigilant if nothing else.
Faustein mused silently further as he simply watched the situation unfold in the Trailmon while waiting to reach the destination, aka the mysterious town which the group had been assembled to investigate and establish contact with for future operations. As they drew closer and finally halted, the Starmon had instructed them all to play the part of the polite guest and not incense the denizens of the locale via word or deed and especially to avoid any mention, no matter how brief or casual, about the giant tower which was arguably the highlight of the town. Soon, the group started to disembark fromt he Trailmon and as Faustein observed silently with his impassive, inscrutable expression on his face, they were met by a Guardromon which greeted them and asked whether they were the group from Rustport. In response the Starmon's demeanor made a drastic about-face, going from strict, unforgiving taskmaster or perhaps team leader to that of friendly tourist and neighbor in mere moments.
Holy Heisenberg, this Starmon is quite the good actor...or perhaps it has bipolar disorder.
Faustein thought silently while making sure to keep his face carefully blank or atleast nonchalantly relaxed as he listened to the Guardromon point them to where they were supposed to wait, specifically a green colored building in the distance. Then, the unknown wolf or dog like bipedal digimon engaged the Guardromon in banter before heading off toward the building to wait for their welcoming party. After it, Faustein was the next, so he too followed suit and engaged the Guardromon in an exchange of pleasantries before excusing himself with some brief praise for the town, also playing the part of the curious and excited tourist as was expected of him for this mission
"This is truly a marvelous town you have here! I look forward to enjoying every moment I spend here!"
After that, he gave it a polite smile and then headed off towards the green building where the group's members had begun to convene in wait for their host, While he was waiting, he took the time to examine the scenery as an excited and curious tourist might do in a similar situation, but really he was trying to construct a mental map of the place so that he could put this data to use later to facilitate navigation of the area.

It seems that arriving late had unintended and hostile consequences. As David turned from the window to introduce himself, he instead found his person assailed with gun and claw and possibly more. Both his hands and Ziggy's front claws shot up in surrender simultaneously, causing the ModokiBetamon to slide down onto David's shoulders without the grip of his front appendages.
"YES SIR!" The two yelped out in unison before sitting down, moving only at the knees. Arms would only drop when all the threats had passed. So, everyone the pair were working with today are completely on edge, or at least the digimon without human partners. For the remainder of the trip, David kept his mouth shut unless spoken directly to: a rare event in any situation. The only indirect conversation to be had was nodding in acknowledgment to the Starmon as it briefed the train car on the situation, even if the boy didn't understand the part about elephants.
If he had eyebrows, Ziggy would have found one of them raised when it was mentioned that the goal here was peaceful. Some choice of first words coming from the mon that had just pulled a gun on an 8-year-old child. But maybe their choice of entrance was a bit extra.
When the Trailmon pulled in and everyone got off, David found himself at the back of the small crowd, following everyone else's lead. Ziggy had managed to pull himself back into a comfortable position atop the boy's spiked hair before the pair exited. Upon being greeted by a Guardromon, David just smiled and gave a polite nod as greeting. Part of him didn't say anything because others were talking, and it wasn't polite to have too many people talking to one person. But the other part, the stronger part, was still a bit scared and hesitant to say anything, given recent events.
"Hi. I'm Ziggy." Well someone had to introduce them properly. Etiquette demanded it. "And the human is my partner, David. Thanks for having us." Ziggy would have liked David to also say something, but time demanded they follow the group, not wanting to be too far from the party at the moment. The group got particularly noisy, thanks to the presence of the youngest tamer in the group. He was a cute kid with a Betamon in toe, but of course, the poor Betamon failed to keep him under control. Even Panthermon growled at the racket he had, and tried to cover his ears with his paws.
Their arrival in the town was advised, to be on their best behavior. For the time being, Zaber kept quiet and stayed close to the group as the Guardromon welcomed them and direct them. All the while, Zachary kept a close eye to things. The only thing that stuck out most to him was the abundance of machine Digimon around. He met such Digimon in Rustport but still, to mention the tower was ill advised.
Panthermon too was quiet and kept a hunter's eye out as they made their way to the building. Whatever would happen, he was calm but remained on guard for the worst. Just something irked the black cat's senses of danger. There was more to this quaint little town than what met the eye-- that much both of them were sure about.
Don't be too relaxed Zachary. Something is rubbing my fur the wrong way about this place. Panthermon spoke to Zachary with their telepathic link.

There seemed to be no hiccups thus far!
Silent grievances about the situation aside, it seemed like the group was able to at least put on a well-meaning face. Well, honestly, Faustein might have laid it on a little thick, and Zachary and Panthermon could have stood to have been a bit more engaged, but it wasn't enough that it would throw the situation off.
"Heh! Quite enthusiastic, aren't ya!" The Guardromon largely said that towards Faustein, but would soon walk back to his post and get back to work. They'd soon be left with a moment of relative privacy, allowing Agress to ask his question.
"Eh... I'd be a touch more picky with your fights than focus on their level too much. Lotta Digimon idle at Champion, myself included - and its a far sight from Luminas, which pose MagnaAngemon at some entrances." He wasn't saying that the situation wasn't strange, though - for example, why was an aspiring city, barely twelve hours old and dedicated to a single family of Digimon, already so open to newcomers? Absent that tower, it would have made a lot more sense for this place to be crawling with excavating equipment and yellow tape, shying away or limiting visitors rather than roughly allowing them at their doorstep.
Standing outside the green building - really, just a steel building in the shape of a hangar, about as much as could be expected to be built overnight - the group would be treated to the rather expected view of different levels of machines, dragging equipment and coordinating their efforts to get this place up-and-running as soon as possible. If nothing else, the level of dedication here was impressive: as if the entire town was dedicated to the construction effort, in one way or another.
Impressive - but, taking one step back, also equally bizarre. A good ten minutes later, they would be greeted by a new figure - and this one was a level that Starmon would raise an eyebrow at. A BlackRapidmon? (X)
"Ah - the Rustport group, right?" Seeing the non-machine types, the Rapidmon would give a nod, and open the door for the group to follow inside. Starmon flipped right back to business mode, tipping his hat as he would lead the rest of the group on in.
Inside, the furnishing was expectedly bare-bones. There was a cheap air conditioner working in the side of the room, and a cheap set of lights above. No windows, and hardly any furnishings - the android greeting them gave a nervous chuckle. "I'd say we're still setting up on a lot of fronts... so tell me, for what do I owe seein' the lot of ya?"

Keeping his attention held to the horizon for anything else that could catch his eye, Agress waited for the rest of the group. Taking the time to look towards Starmon as he spoke about the Digimon greeting them, hearing about their levels didn’t alert him as more the greeting party being his concern. “Idling in Champion or not, if they knew we were coming at all, to make good impressions to me - would greet us in Rookie. My instincts tell me to question it but biting my tongue for manner's sake is best.”
Agress only let out an annoyed breath as he watched the Machine Digimon move just like their descriptors would lead; a machine, schematics, and efficiency. Such large scale coordination going smoothly was more questionable to him than anything else. Even if small errors or accidents happen, how would they still kept up such a pace? Questions raced through him more than his perception, zoning out for a moment before hearing a new figure approaching.
He started to stand up properly as the BlackRapidmon approached the group, Agress taking a moment to hide him looking around at his surroundings. Attempting to disguise a glance as a stretch, looking for anything that could be another exit in case of emergencies. The question from the BlackRapidmon made Agress hit his, customer service mode, giving a slow courtesy bow towards the BlackRapidmon, continuing his walk inside.
Stepping into the large hanger aesthetic building, catching the lights and lack of windows made him think of home. Agress’s ears picked up on that nervous chuckle and turned towards the BlackRapidmon the moment he heard it.
“Establishments require time and a skilled focus hand, it takes time to perfect a craft. The name I have is Agress, a pleasure to be here. I am the cook for a restaurant in the Dark Area, my personal interest in seeing what history you bring with you. The culture and seasonings behind every town's upbringing, I was curious about what it could be, so I decided to come to see for myself.” While giving his introduction and reason, he gave a proper bow while speaking.
Raising from his bow, he continued to speak though even with his mask on it was clear his eyes were trained directly to BlackRapidmon’s eyes. “Such dazzling passion for builds at this speed must bring quite the history of where they are from, no? I am eager what the plans for the future are, especially if I could gain any customers.” giving his chance to speak to give the illusion of personal conquest, with financial gain.

The trek through the town was casual as it was. Given the state of things, the presence of machine Digimon did make Zachary a bit more cautious. Machine Digimon or Android types were all he saw there. He knew many Digimon were idle, regardless of their levels. Champion, Ultimate, or Mega were hardly anything to worry about. Heck, Faustein and Zachary knew Blackwargreymon and he never had the need to de-digivolve. It didn't strike him as any reason for concern.
"Well, it's certainly lively here, I'll say that much," Zachary said aloud to the others in his group. "By the way, sorry for being quiet. Just had a lot on my mind. I'm Zachary, but you can call me Zaber." he introduced himself to the others, especially the younger tamer with him.
The meeting with the Rapidmon (BlackRapidmon), Panthermon remained out of view for the moment behind Zachary. It was then the cat decided to take preemptive measures in case this meeting went south. With a shimmer of darkness-- Panthermon vanished from view. The mythical jaguar Digimon became invisible to the naked eye, but still present in the group. With his stealth, he could at least observe things without fear of being seen. If there was something nefarious about things here, he could act at a moment's notice. If someone noticed he was missing... he could be brushed off as if he 'gotten lost'. Zachary, at least knew-- thanks to their mental connection and their Digivice.
All the while, Zachary noticed the abundance of construction gear and machines, beyond just the machine Digimon themselves. The request as to what they were doing here, and why the visit... Zachary thought up a possible response that could cover them. He put on a convincing smile as he spoke up. "Um, well I am a blogger. The Tamer Net and NEXUS is also a news source, so I figured it is a great opportunity to write about your new town. You know, fun attractions, industry, something you'd like to share? I write great food reviews, like I know many Digimon love. Hahaha... " Zachary shared. It wasn't a real fib, as he was a writer. Still, Investigating this place was a priority but still... he couldn't risk bringing up the 'elephant in the room', aka the giant tower sticking out of the place. That would probably set any of the Digimon here off.
All the while, Panthermon followed at a safe distance. Faustein and Zachary likely could tell where he was if they looked around, but the others might realize they were one short. Still, someone that quiet-- you hardly would notice.

Faustein had been surveying the area with the facade of an excited, innocuously curious tourist to avoid suspicion falling upon him when he saw the BlackRapidmon come out and greet the group. Then, as he observed and listened further, he and the rest of the group were welcomed and then the topic of conversation shifted to the reason for their visit to which each member gave their own unique answers. Meanwhile Zachary's Panthermon had pulled the usual Houdini act by turning invisible, presumably as a precautionary, preemptive measure against any potential attempts at amush made on the group by the city's denizens. Then, Zachary had spoken up, describing himself as a blogger for NEXUS.
Perhaps it would be prudent for me to follow suit.
Faustein had mused silently while listening to the BlackRapidmon converse with Zachary and then it had turned its attention to him at last, so according to his plan, he put on the same polite smile as Zachary had before him and responded
"Like my friend here, I too am a fellow blogger for the same group, and in this case, I have been sent along as his assistant so that our news report may be covered as comprehensively as possible. After they do say two heads are better than one, right?"
Then, he fell silent while maintaining that polite smile so as to not do anything to disrupt the mission. Of course, Faustein was intensely curious about the giant tower, but since it was termed forbidden, he forcefully restrained his curiosity and instead, played the part of the polite tourist. Before the BlackRapidmon had come out to greet all of them, he had of course made detailed mental notes on the various levels of digimon he had seen milling about the town doing whatever business they had according to whatever mysterious agenda they had going on. He did have his Sprite spirit at the very least so if trouble arose, he could atleast handle a Rookie or two if push came to shove while Zachary and his partner, Panthermon, presumably had enough skill and power to handle every other stage of mon around the mysterious, unnervingly ominous looking city. It remained to be seen now what the youngest member of their squad would do and say and Faustein hoped that the boy, young as he was, had enough sense to not point out the giant tower and also to not run about or make any sudden moves as he had during his rather dramatic entry by portalling into the train during the earlier part of the journey.

"Aye... well, it might not be about that, but there's somethin' rubbing me the wrong way about all of this. For example, where did this group get all of their motivation?"
The Starmon sighed, looking at the group around them. Building a new city on its own would have been somewhat strange, but understandable - but to come to such a heated location, all at once, and to stake their claim around it? The Starmon found himself shaking his head. "I won't say it to their face, but it sounds like this whole town is just an excuse to say that whatever this tower is, belongs to them. Once you hide somethin' so important behind beauracracy, things get a bit more tricky."
That might have been a decent operation, but really, what could this group really do about it? They were stuck at the ground level, on a diplomatic mission for Rustport! "Well, at the very least, we can try and sink our own political fangs into this..." That was about all he could say out of earshot, before the BlackRapidmon would approach and address the group.
But, really, to hear that two of them were bloggers seemed a bit off! "Hm? Well, guess it makes sense that people would want to report on this stuff, but I'm not sure how flavorful the details are here for the city. Hard to say we even have a culture when we're just starting up, right?"
"You sayin' that the people buildin' this town didn't even start on some kinda common ground, then?"
"Er..." For the moment, the cyborg danced around the topic, returning his own short bow to Agress. "Well, if you're here for something like that, I'm sure there's a lot to find. You might not think it much a place for proper food, with so many 'machines' here - but there's also cyborg types, like myself!"
So, there might have been a purpose for a restaurant here - but, alas, that wasn't the entire point. The Starmon would finally introduce himself, a slight bow given to the Rapidmon. "Starmon, representative and lead of bureaucratic relations of Rustport. Its my job to make sure that things connect smoothly with the rest of the Digital World - so to see somethin' like this pop up in my backyard's a bit of a surprise, to say the least."
"My, they turned around to look at this quick, didn't they?" The cyborg replied, an upbeat note in his tone: "This place didn't have much purpose before. Save the 'obvious', it was just a flat plot of land that no-one was using before. And its not like machines fit in too well with the main cities - well-meaning as they might be, its hard to find places that service machines all that well."
"... Well, should we ignore the 'obvious', then?"
"Call it an anchor." The machine gave a shrug: "Its 'something central and important' that finally got all these groups together, ya'know? Cities like this have been attempted in the past, but oftentimes they just get worn down or overrun by the wild sands - or more often, just worn down in the politics of it all."
"So, forgive me for being a bit blunt, but having that tower there means that the other cities have to engage us with some initial level of 'respect', right? Seems to be working if we're already having talks like this!"
