From a poisonous bug-boy, to a telekinetic fox lady, Honoka thought she had seen it all. And yet the girl faced what could have possibly been her worst enemy to date - a charismatic sales pitch. What was supposed to be a simple wishful-thinking window-shopping spree turned out to be one of the most baffling experiences she had ever experienced. Everything seemed to make sense logically, and emotionally it seemed like the right thing to do. So when Honoka signed the papers and became the proud owner of a motorcycle, the fact that she didn't even know how to ride one didn't even occur to her. But now that she was, this experience taught her many new things.
The first of which was that Spirits didn't like staying up all night to help translate an Digital World's owner's manual to Japanese. Seeing as how comfortable the salesmon seemed with humans, Honoka supposed that she could have gotten an owner's manual meant for humans, but that thought never occurred to her until after she had finished. But for the sake of Lili and Lulu's sanity, she decided not to voice that thought out loud.
Secondly, while it may be called a flatland on a geographical sense, and on paper it seemed like an ideal location to practice driving, in actuality there were so many cracks and bumps on the ground to smack her behind into an aching mess. Even so, it was a fairly isolated place for her to practice in, and she figured that she'd get used to it eventually.
And finally, contrary to what she initially believed, having a great sense of balance didn't automatically correlate to proficiency in operating her new vehicle. In fact, her confidence in her cerebellar seemed to actively hamper her progress and humble the girl to a degree.
Too sharp! Too damned sharp!!! She heard a voice in her head scream out as realized she was going too fast for her to lean into it.
Honoka heard a voice scream out, taking her a second to realize that it was her own as she slid out of control and tumbled away from her bike as it continued skidding across the ground.
Her rolling came to a stop and she remained on the ground, motionless as her body groaned in pain. She carefully sat up, removing her helmet and revealing the soggy mess that was her hair. She watched dirt kicked up by the accident whisk away into the air, and took a deep breath. She wanted to get back on the bike and try again, but she wanted to wait for the adrenaline to wear off before she got moving again, just in case.
Could you not try and crash so much, you crazy bitch? She heard Lulu cry out from within her head. Maybe you like taking a tumble and get off on bumping uglies with the dirt, but as someone who feels the same pain you do, I can confidently say that I don't want that kind of relationship!
"I can make a sharp turn like that once I get the feel for things..." Honoka insisted, taking a deep breath before moving back to her feet.
Yeah... Honoka slowly made her way towards her bike, passing by dozens of other skid marks across the ground. From high up in the sky, the pattern looked like she was making some kind of alien message. Clearly she had been at this for quite some time. Something tells me that's not gonna be today.
