The cordial invitations had been sent and accepted - the marble floor and mahogany furniture had a prestige sheen to them - every item was in its proper place - plenty of light, artifical and natural alike, was present - the silverware was on the large dining table next to the open kitchen in which the 3-course meal was kept at an ideal temperature... and lastly, the host herself was sparkling clean and gracious in her cerulean dress which of course featured her signature green scarf as well. It seemed everything was where it was meant to be, which likely explained time passing sluggishly. After all, the first dozen times in which she had reviewed her check list in the past few minutes had evidently not sufficed to make it pass faster. Then again, Cion was not quite sure why she was so nervous. It was not like she did not know how carefree and jolly her main guest was. Moreover, from her own experience, this extended to whomever he decided to bring along; if any. The whole pride was a charmingly marvelous bundle of cheer and adventure. Still, a year had went by since their last proper interaction, and things had certainly changed anew - mostly for her. Beholding the colorful decor of the apartment in which she resided, purple being the primary color, she recognized the many ways in which her life had shifted within the span of a couple hundred days. Fortunately, she had already expressed her gratitude to the fine lad who had helped her with moving on from what was. One day, she would return the favor - but not today. She wanted to see and talk with the individual who had originally enabled her to become who she was. A moment or two of a private dialogue maybe, but otherwise just enjoy each other's company - as they used to. Nodding softly, it appeared to be the best approach to eventually embrace the dawn of a new path. If nothing else, the lunch prepared in accordance with her brother's wishes would conjure some smiles. Sighing and gently folding her arms, her gaze sometimes swayed to the entrance door, behind which was an elevator a mere meter away. That's where he or they would enter. Given that her flat was the 4th out of 6, and every storey consisted of no more than one, she cast aside sentiments of disorientation. Yet it did not make waiting any easier.

On board the Trailmon from Rosewood to Terminus, Owen the Gaomon had mostly paid attention to his twin sons Matty the Onmon and Jimmy the Musimon as the countryside swept by. Forest turned to meadow as they neared the capital, but the three of them were more engaged with a few card games that Owen had learned over the years, teaching the twins the rules and demonstrating games that should hopefully suit them in the years to come.
However, once the meadows had turned to the outer suburbs of Terminus, he could no longer hold their attention as they pressed their faces to the window of the carriage, awestruck by the skyscrapers and vast urban landscape of Terminus. Owen realized that this was in fact the first time Matty and Jimmy had arrived in Terminus, so such a reaction wasn't unexpected.
Eventually, the Trailmon came to a halt at the Terminus City Terminal, where the trio disembarked. Their luggage was already stored in Owen's Infini-store, so there was no need to mess around with the baggage car. They gave their thanks to the Trailmon for the smooth journey, then proceeded out into the city.
"Oh... wow!" Jimmy exclaimed, looking up at the skyscrapers. "They're just so... big! How the heck do they stand up?!"
"Research, testing and engineering, mate." Owen replied patiently. Indeed, the Gaomon found it a little hard to believe how 50-plus storey buildings could be even possible, considering their weight, engineering constraints, and outer effects like wind, but, somehow, the heights of Terminus had remained so for many years. "Anyway, I gather the both of you are as hungry as I am, so, let's head over to Aunt Cion's place as quickly as possible."
"Yeh, you got that right, dad." Matty agreed. And they made their way to Cion's apartment. Owen was dressed in his usual khaki tunic, while Matty and Jimmy were dressed in their matching outfits of red jackets and blue jeans, covering their yellow and white fur. Their main distinguishing features were their red eyes, which they had inherited from their other father, Hikaru. But both of them were eager to meet up for a meal with their aunt, who they had heard had done so much good for the digital world, and were eager to be on their best behaviour.
Owen meanwhile was looking forward to meet up with his sister to catch up on their goings-on. So, they made their way to the apartment building, sought out the right door, then rang the doorbell.
Once opened, Owen would greet Cion with a grin and a wave, while Matty and Jimmy made matching poses which they hoped would be seen as cool. Immediately they would pick up the scent of the food she had prepared.
"Heya, Cion." Owen said, put immediately in good spirits by this. "I hope you got my reply, I brought along Matty and Jimmy."
"Heeyya, Aunty!" Matty and Jimmy exclaimed together. They had already met her during their family picnic, and were eager to see her again, especially now they could focus the conversation without so many others present.

With an acoustic startle response tearing Cion out of her endless thoughts, she blinked nervously and hastily tilted her head towards the entrance of her spacious apartment. He, and his possible company, were finally here! Her fingers twitched with excitement as she approached the door, skimming her mental list a final time before deciding to cast it aside. Taking in a deep breath through her snub nose, the tiny ascendant grasped the knob and faced the future head-on. Opening the doorway with a degree of pizzazz, her aureate eyes widened upon beholding who had accepted her invitation.
"Owen! And... Matthew and James, was it?" She inquired as she beamed with delight to meet more than a single member of her seldom seen family. Of course she was not wrong with their names, although they were the formal version than their intended ones. Hopefully, they did not blame her for this, for this was but the second time that she had interacted with them in a manner that did not include hearsay. Given their charmingly farcical poses the trio had assumed to greet her with, she doubted that was the case. No - she simply had to think positively.
"Hey my boys! Hey Owy! I did, but it seems I was so excited that I missed the part about my nephews. Never fear though, as I am always prepared! Nobody will be left wanting!" Chuckling and happily waving back at the kids and the blue pupper, she gave her signature bow and motioned them to not hesitate and enter the 'humble' flat she called her new home. They were her guests, and as the host and aunty it was her proud responsibility to take good care of them. Besides, after almost a whole year, she was nothing short of ecstatic to spend a jolly day with the lads again.
Assuring that everyone was inside, she dashed past them into the open kitchen to assure that everything was still as it was meant to be. Fortunately, no accidents had occurred during her absence. Nodding confidently, she turned to the finely dressed young men as she folded her hands together. "Thank you for coming! Please make yourselves comfortable. After lunch, we can enjoy ourselves with electronics, or visit a parkway or funfair if you want...
"Oh, speaking of which, I followed you dad's wishes and prepared seafood. A tomato soup with shrimps as an appetizer, a paella as our main dish, and if there is room left for dessert I tried myself at homemade sea salt ice cream. So... I hope no-one had breakfast, because I certainly did not, hehe" The silver fennec explained with glee and verve in her dulcet voice. It was naturally self-evident that she was trying, as usual, way too hard to make a positive impression on them. Considering the picnic last autumn, that was however unlikely to be a surprise.
She was not a perfectionist, but she clearly did give it her all.

The names that Cion had stated made Matty and Jimmy confused for a moment. Matthew? James? They had never been called that before. Even Owen was a little confused before he remembered about nicknames, and supposed that it was okay.
"It's okay, boys, those are your formal names." Owen said to them.
"Well... I can see how Matty fits in Matthew..." Matty began. "But how does Jimmy fit into James?"
"Because 'Jammy' is music, and even I'm not conceited enough to claim my name to be that." Jimmy replied, crossing his ears with a defiant expression. The both of them still seemed to be pleased with the reception meanwhile, even if they weren't expected. They still wanted to visit their aunt.
Cion offered some splendid activities after their lunch, and the three digimon thought that they would greatly appreciate that. "I reckon a visit to the Terminus Park would be awesome." Owen said, hoping they could have some fun as a family out there.
When Cion mentioned what was on the menu, the three of them drooled slightly, before politely pulling tissues to wipe their maws. Owen spoke first. "Hehe, well, yes, we got your message and made sure to have a light breakfast." he stated.
"Yeah, so we're really looking forward to it~" Matty added cheerfully. He could smell the delicious food as it was being prepared, and so was happy to wait a little more until he could devour it.

Oh dear! Had she already messed up in a minor yet apparently important way? Briefly biting her lower lip, Cion gave a mental scolding to one of her few inherent aspects which she considered a flaw of hers - her capability to remember names. As clear and vivid as her memory of the past was, including the faces of people, it were their identities which she had a problem recalling. However, this was of course not intentional, nor did she understood why this was. Perhaps, though advocating the idea, thinking of others by their species remained an of hers.
Somewhat violently shaking her own head, the silver fennec was quick to dismiss this maelstrom of thoughts, for it was merely another among innumerable. The three boys still looked as if they were genuinely happy to be here with her, which was a status quo she wished to maintain through nurture. Maybe she was bound to see her relatives only on rare occasions, but this just served to bolster her fervor and passion. Why else would she spend the entire morning on a three-course buffet lunch, aside from enjoying herself when cooking in the kitchen?
"The Central Park; gladly." The unassuming fox voiced her approval with a confident smile before motioning her guests to take a seat at their spacious table. With a flick of her wrist, its chairs were sliding a couple inches away from it - another demonstration of her telekinetic precision. Certain that this act made her impetus unambiguous, she assured that the silverware was present ere she placed the pot of tomato soup in the center. Beholding everybody's maws watering, her simper turned into a rapt grin. "Splendid! Then please sit down and... Bon appetit!"
There was no need to wait, but as it was common courtesy as a host she would be the last person to seat herself. Furthermore, she did not know if the lads preferred self-service or her portioning out their plates. Given their apparent, ravenous appetite, likely the former was the better idea. Nonetheless, as a patient lady, she awaited their approach.

Thankfully the confusion about formal names was quickly ironed over, and Owen, Matty and Jimmy were happy to follow Cion to the Central Park of Terminus. To his admission, Owen had never visited there. He mainly split his time between Ys and Rosewood, only ever giving sparing visits to Terminus. So he was excited to experience the parkland of the top city of the digital world.
First, lunch was served. And Owen, Matty and Jimmy licked their lips at the presentation of Cion's food. However, they showed their discipline in gracefully seating themselves in front of their plates first, then gave simultaneous gestures of thanks to Cion for preparing their meals, then proceeded to eat politely, using their cutlery, making sure to savour every bite. The three of them appreciated it very much.
"This is incredible, Cion, thank you so much." Owen said after a few bites, fully appreciating the care and taste of the food.
"Yeah! This is awesome!" Matty agreed. Jimmy would have said something similar if his mouth wasn't already full, just he pulled a thumbs-up with his left ear instead.
The trio didn't have much else to say as they finished their meal. There would be plenty of opportunity to talk in the park after all, but for now they simply appreciated the wonderful meal. And once it was over, they'd eagerly await the next part of their day together.

Heh... while Cion did not consider herself conceited, she had to admit that she felt pride upon beholding the three boys behaving in such a mannered way. Regardless of the fact that she had spent little time with them, with Owen in this life in particular, there was a sentiment inside her which made her believe that she had helped them to become fine gentlemons. Even if this was the only thing of the past left within the blue puppy that was hers, she was elated to see it blossom and bear marvelous fruit.
However, she was not here to contemplate this unimportant notion. Instead, she wished to enjoy the day with the lads in whatever way the saw fit. Hence she sat down after distributing the appetizer, taking part in the admittedly quiet lunch. What followed a brief moment of sincere gratitude and a proud grin on her muzzle, with her acting all modest was of course, was typical banter - especially among the children as it was common. The silver fennec did naturally not mind this in the slightest. There were going to be plenty moments for a short talk with the fluffy hound.
The hour went by as quickly as it had emerged, and the quartet eventually decided to do exactly as initially intended. Leaving the modern apartment and venturing for a few minutes through the always busy suburbs of Terminus, they before long reached their destination. The park was, as to be expected during late autumn, close to deserted. A mild breeze whizzed past amber, partially naked flora, with damp pathways of paving stone splitting into any direction. Yet, amidst many things ending, some flowers thrived to bring color and joy to winter season. Nature too had its new beginnings.
"Well... here we are." The unassuming fox announced calmly as she adjusted her signature, green scarf. Despite her petite frame, she evidently was not bothered by the slight, omnipresent chill. In fact, it appeared that she was perfectly serene; enjoying the tranquility of the parkway. With her aureate eyes swaying to a large guidepost, she softly folded her arms and let our a hushed murr of contemplation. "Duck pond... playground... a small art exhibit, huh..." She more or less whispered to herself. Shrugging she chose anew to defer to her guests. "I'm game for anything you want to do."
