The first anybody knew something was wrong was when the ground started to shake. DEEP. The kind of shake that makes everything touching the floor bounce upward, that leaves a jarring rattle in your bones and makes your teeth clash against each other. Then there was the sound, the sound of buckling asphalt and collapsing metal and concrete knocking over buildings like so many tin toys stacked on a shelf. Then the shadow, a dark spot so high and so wide that it seemed to black out the sun in the shape of a vaguely humanoid monolith. Then they saw it. The thing attached to all of those warnings.
A Tactimon. 50 meters tall and taking huge slashes out of the buildings of Terminal like he was chopping through paper with a katana blade longer than a city bus. Its call was a laugh that boiled the blood to listen to. This thing was enjoying itself. More than a little, in fact. The Knightmon guards could do nothing to stop it, bundles of them already trampled underfoot of the massive attacker. Only a couple had even gotten close enough to require the use of the creatures blade to chop them out of the sky like swatting flies with a tank.
"Hey! Tiny!" The Tactimon actually paused at hearing that, looking forward and having to focus its eyes at the image of Zack and Marigold in front of it. Marigold digivolved to her Ultimate level, holding her spear tight and ready as her father stood on her shoulders, arms crossed over his chest as the brightness of his helm was dulled somewhat by the gloom of the kaiju's shadow. "Do us a favor, huh? Nobody needs to see your ugly mug in that much detail." Zack said, trying to ignore the way his heart and his brain were both screaming at him as the huge humanoid digimon snarled and let out a gravelly roar, pulling its blade from the scabbard with a sound of metal scraping leather that was loud and high enough to shatter windows. "Alright, darling. I think I got his attention." Zack said, dropping down to grasp marigold around the shoulders as she took off, bolting AWAY from the center of the city with the Ultraman sized villain already in stomping pursuit.
"Yea, great, you pissed off the massive bad guy with a sword. Now are you actually going to share the idea on what you plan to do NOW?!" Marigold shouted, only barely managing to dodge a downward slash by the massive beast chasing them, the sheer wind factor of the blade coming down forcing her to spin with its blustering in midair if only to avoid getting tossed like a seed on the wind.
"See, funny story. I hadn't actually thought of that when I pissed it off." Zack said, holding on tight to his daughter's shoulders as they moved between buildings, feinting left and right to avoid being in the path of the armored behemoth currently trying to squash them.
