Hiro had thought his bag had been a little heavier than normal, but he had been in a rush to get to school so he just grabbed it, slung it over a shoulder and ran as fast as he could. His rush to make it on time and avoid a lecture from the disciplinary committee would also probably explain how he missed the extra weight and that something was moving inside his bag. He really couldn't blame anyone other than himself about missing the noises from his bag during class. He had been daydreaming or dozing the entire time.
So when he opened his bag to grab his lunch, Hiro was surprised to find an empty Bento Box and a sleeping Dorimon inside.
"Geh, Tetsu?!" Hiro hissed in surprise. Seeing the tiny fox digimon start to wake up, Hiro grabbed his bag and high tailed it out of the classroom. He was sure that he had gotten some weird looks, but it was probably better than Tetsu making a commotion when he woke up.
Hiro charged up to the roof of the school before dropping to the ground in exhaustion from the dash.
"Hiro!" Tetsu crawled out of his partner's bag and jumped onto his lap. "I followed you today!"
Hiro groaned both from the impact of his partner dropping onto him and from the entire ordeal. Tetsu took that as a sign to continue.
"I was so bored at home whenever you went to school so I decided to follow. I had no idea how since you said I should hide from people, but then I saw a good idea from one of those picture books you read." Tetsu happily explained his daring plan to his partner. Hiro was always complaining about things. He needed Tetsu there to show him the bright side of life. "I can hide inside your bag. No one can see me and I still can give you advice."
Hiro fell back so that he was lying down and threw an arm over his eyes. "Tetsu, bags don't talk."
"Oh right." The Dorimon tilted his head and pouted, making him the image of a sad puppy. "I forgot about that."
Hiro sighed. This was great, he needed to get through an entire school day with a hyper active digimon in his bag. Tetsu would probably do his best to stay quiet, but the In-Training digimon tended to get bored quickly. He had no idea how he was going to keep him secret from everyone in class.
"Ugh, this day cannot get any worse."
Hiro really needed to learn not to tempt fate.

She sees them walking in a straight line, that's not really her style. And they all got the same heartbeat, but hers is falling behind. Nothing in this world could ever bring them down. Yeah, they're invincible, and she's just in the background.
A.J. glanced at her cell phone clock then pushed it back into her pocket. She glanced under her arm, making sure the D3 was still strapped onto her bag before she sighed and walked up the stone-paved of the entrance. Well, it was what she had wanted after all. She had wanted to enroll in public school and start an "ordinary life". But how could she feel ordinary if she didn't feel ordinary?
After a quick stop by the administrative office with her papers, she collected her schedule and headed to her first class.
Throughout the morning, everything was fairly monotonous, but she scribbled every note down and kept her eyes glued on the teacher, except for occasionally shifting her gaze to her backpack. Once she had to gingerly lift the green tail poking out and push it back inside. Besides that, everything went great for the first half of the morning.
When classes broke for lunch, she glanced around, a slight frown tipping on her young features. The thing about a new school was no friends. And that meant no one to sit with at lunch. Sure, she could ask people if she could sit with them, but then again...it was her after all.
A.J. made her way through the building, making note of where her next classes were so she would get lost in the hustle and bustle of change time. She came across a door labeled rooftop. Well, they were allowed to go outside and enjoy their lunch time. So she figured that meant the rooftop was fair game as well. She climbed the steps and crossed the threshold. Once she was outside, she sighed and smiled, enjoying the fresh air that came with the change into fall.
"Ugh, this day cannot get any worse."
Crystalline orbs blinked owlishly. Had she just heard a voice? She rounded the corner and then started. "Oh, I'm so sorry. I didn't realize any one else would be up....here...." her words fell away as she noticed the tiny furry fox-like creature in the boy's arms.

Hiro tilted his head further back and froze at the sight of another student standing there. He probably should have known that someone would just walk up to the roof. It was just his luck. Okay, calm down. You can think your way out of this. Dorimon isn't that odd. He looks like a puppy almost. If Tetsu was quiet he could probably get away with calling him his dog. Yeah that'd work.
Well it would have worked if Tetsu had not squirmed out of his grasp and ran up to the girl with a bright smile on his face. "Hi! I'm Tetsu and that's my partner there, Hiro. Do you want to be friends?"
Hiro pressed a hand to his face and groaned into the appendage. Of course Tetsu would do that. He was the trusting sort. Hiro dragged his hand against his face before pushing himself to his feet.
The first thing that he noticed about the girl was that she was tiny, like half a foot shorter than him at least and pretty skinny as well. The second thing was that she was pretty cute. Hiro looked down at Tetsu who was looking up at the girl like a puppy that wanted to play and ran a blank.
He had two real choices here. He could try to explain it away or he could be frank. If he was being honest, it would be a pain to lie. He would probably have to weave this intricate web of falsehoods that would eventually bite him in the ass. It would be simpler to just come clean.
"Uh...Hi." Hiro coughed into his fist to clear his throat. "So, please don't freak out about the talking fox. I can explain... kind of."

She sees them walking in a straight line, that's not really her style.;And they all got the same heartbeat, but hers is falling behind.; Nothing in this world could ever bring them down.; Yeah, they're invincible, and she's just in the background. Baby blues blinking as the little purple guy jumped from his Tamer's arms to the ground and rushed at A.J. A faint smile tipped on her young features and she knelt down, arms crossing on her knees, bending forward to greet the young Dorimon. "Well, hello. Yes, we can be friends," she replied, giving Tetsu a small pat on the head. "Hiro and Tetsu, huh? I'm A.J."
She glanced up at Hiro's horror stricken face and couldn't help but giggle a little into the palm of her hand, shoulders shaking slightly. A small wind blew by as she stood up, ruffling her raven hair. The young tamer smiled at the other one as he tried to off her an explanation.
"No need to explain. I understand just fine," A.J. replied. She knelt once more and set her backpack on the ground and began rummaging until she pulled out a green little blob. It's tail twitched then it rolled around in her arms, amber eyes blinking sleepily, but then they burst open excitedly.
"It's time to come out and play, A.J?" the Nyaromon asked.
She smiled and nodded. "Yup. This is Hiro and this is his partner Tetsu." Glancing back up at the duo, she nodded down at the little green cat. "This is Patch by the way. He's a Nyaromon. So, like I said, no need to explain."
Her demeanor changed slightly, eyebrows furrowing. "I'm sorry, I forgot to ask. I hope I'm not intruding. I was just looking for a place to eat lunch, I can leave if you want me to." Darn it. She was actually being friendly for once and making conversation, but then she just had to let it become awkward.
"But A.J! I wanna play with my new friend!" Patch whined as he bounced over to Tetsu, wagging his tail playfully.

Well, this day is full of surprises. Hiro knelt down to get a closer look at the digimon, brushing his bangs away from his left eye so he could see properly. The girl called it a Nyaromon. As the name suggested, it definitely was kind of cat like, if you ignored the fact that it was basically a blob with a tail.
"Huh." Hiro murmured thoughtfully. A lopsided smile made it's way onto his face as he watched Tetsu run circles around Patch who was cheering about a new digimon friend. "That's convenient."
"Ne, ne, Hiro. They can eat here, right? We can have a picnic!" Tetsu ran up to his partner and looked up at him with pleading eyes. His amber eyes glimmering with hope as he gave his partner the puppy dog eyes.
Hiro looked down at his partner and sighed, though he smiled as he rubbed the Dorimon's head. "I don't mind. Though there is one problem with your idea."
"Problem?" Tetsu tilted his head up at Hiro. "What problem?"
"You ate my lunch already." Hiro pointed out.
"Ah...ah!" Tetsu looked away from his partner and blushed in embarrassment. The white portion of his face turned red and Hiro could see some of the blue fur surrounding it turn purple as well. "W-well... that doesn't mean they have to go away. We can keep them company while they eat."
Hiro rolled his eyes but looked over at A.J., amusement clearly reflected in his eyes, well his visible eye. His bangs had fallen over his left eye again covering it from view. A.J. had seemed to be conflicted about the whole roof issue, so he smiled and cracked a joke to hopefully break the ice. "Well, it seems that we're going to be having a picnic up here. Clearly my better half has decreed it and so must it be."
"Yay!" Tetsu cheered while running in a circle. The In-Training digimon rushed over towards Patch to play with him.

She sees them walking in a straight line, that's not really her style.;And they all got the same heartbeat, but hers is falling behind.; Nothing in this world could ever bring them down.; Yeah, they're invincible, and she's just in the background.
Hiro seemed more at ease now that he had seen she had a Digimon partner as well. A soft smile tilted on her lips as she watched the two in-training Digimons run around. While Tetsu had legs to run on, Patch had to rely on his body to bounce from place to place.
She blinked and looked back up at Hiro. It seemed her and Patch were being invited to a picnic of some sort. A picnic a roof. Well, it could be weirder. They both had Digimon after all.
She nodded and bowed slightly. "Thank you. I'd love to join you." When Hiro said that Tetsu had already ate his lunch, A.J. giggled. "Well, I guess it's a good thing I packed enough for two. I don't eat much anyways and I planned on sharing with Patch."
She crossed over to the ledge and sat down, before digging into her backpack and finding her lunch bag. She pulled out a box with a black and white chevron pattern and monogrammed initials of A.J.C. on the front. She quickly unpacked the box with two water bottles and a separate bowl of noodles with a cheesy sauce on top. "I hope you like fetuchini. It's Italian...which is what I am," she said, giving a shy smile.
"So, do you mind if I ask what brought you up to the roof? Oh and by the way, I'm so glad you speak English! I'm just now learning a little bit of Japanese."

"Ah... if you don't mind." Hiro rubbed the back of his head and grinned weakly at the offer of food.
"Why the roof? I ran out here cause I found Tetsu stowing away in my backpack." Hiro said as he glanced over at the pasta dish. The fact that A.J. was Italian explained the pasta dish. He wondered if she cooked it herself. "He was waking up and the little guy tends to make a ruckus whenever he wakes up, so I needed somewhere private. Most people eat in their classrooms or down by the trees if they want to eat outside."
Hiro walked over to the ledge of the roof and sat on the floor so that he was leaning back against it. He watched the two digimon run around with a half smile on his face. Tetsu would be happy for a while. They hadn't run into any other digimon since Tetsu magically appeared in his backpack. The little guy was probably lonely in a way.
It seems that his partner's little stowaway trick had reaped some decent benefits. Though Hiro made a mental note to remind Tetsu to at least tell him when he wanted to hitch a ride. He could pack some extra food for the fox.
"Mmm, my English is decent enough. My family moved there a while back and I just came back to Japan recently." Hiro admitted with a scowl. He didn't exactly have a lot of fond memories of America and the thought of his old home still made him a little bitter. He blew a puff of air upwards that displaced his bangs enough that you could see the eye hidden behind it. He shook off the bad memories and offered A.J. a lopsided smile. "But yeah, if you need any help with anything, I'll be glad to translate or explain. It can be my way of paying you back for the lunch."

A.J smiled in a friendly way as she offered him some of the noodles. 'It's not a problem at all." Whenever Patch was done eating, he would come and get some and she would split half of hers with the little in-training. She handed Hiro one of the two forks she had brought and dug into her own piece, smiling at the cheesy goodness.
She listened to his explanation as to where the kids would go and eat there lunch and nodded. "Okay, I see. This is actually my first day here. So I was kind of unsure. And thankfully many of my classes are in English, except for my Japanese class, but I think that is helping me some. I had some lessons when I first moved here."
"Mmm, my English is decent enough. My family moved there a while back and I just came back to Japan recently."
Her eyes widened when she heard this. So he was a foreigner. Or somewhat of one. She assumed he had lived here before at some point since his features were clearly oriental and he spoke Japanese. "Well, my father is from Italy and he met my mom on a trip when he was in Switzerland...but really, I was born in France," she grinned at the silly explanation.
When he offered to translate for her as payment for the lunch, she waved her hand. "It's okay. No biggie. Like I said, there is more than enough to go around. So....I'm guessing Tetsu hitched a ride to school and you didn't know it, huh? Patch did the same thing so I just keep him with me wherever I go now. I promised him that if he's quiet, he gets a treat."
The little Nyaromon perked up when he heard his name and she winked at him before turning back Hiro. "This school is really different. Actually, this is the first real public school I've ever been to."

Cathrine Welty, that was her name. It has been since the day she was born and it will be until the day she dies. As she writes this name atop her schoolwork, she readies herself for lunch. Taking out her bottle of pills and water bottle, she takes herself to the roof. It wasn't uncommon for students come up there for alone time, to stay out of the prying eye of the teachers, or just to spit at unfortunate passersby, so she didn't pay attention to the two others on the rooftop. As she spotted Tetsu and Patch playing she took a deep breath and took her pills, very sure they were just part of her troubled mind trying to break free once more.
As she sat beside them she was happy to tell, from the scent, that at least one of the two were real at least. As she got out her box lunch, she remained silent and waited for the other two to acknowledge or ignore her, appropriately... then it struck her that they may not like her suddenly sitting next to them in this private location... silently, she got back up and moved a few feet away, blushing furiously as she realized how uncharacteristically rude that was for her... oh, they're probably gonna start talking about how weird she was and how they came up there for privacy and oooh... She looked away, embarrassed by this realization.

"Itadakimasu." Hero murmured after he accepted the fork that A.J. offered him. He took a bite of the pasta and hummed appreciatively at the taste. He listened to A.J. speak as he took a few bites of the lunch. The fact that she was a new student surprised him. He tried to recall if he heard anything about a transfer student, but pulled a blank. Then again, he wasn't exactly that interested in the local rumor mill.
"Hmm, fair warning then. Japan's got a weird thing about transfer students, especially foreign ones." Hiro pointed out. It was something you noticed after living in another culture. Japan wasn't exactly the most diverse nation out there and foreigners stuck out. "You're probably going to get a lot of attention, mostly people that are interested in other cultures and stuff. The whole new to public school thing will probably get you more attention as well."
Hiro chuckled as he thought about how quickly the rumor mill would take A.J.'s story and blow it all out of proportion. "Just be yourself and be earnest. I doubt you'll have too much trouble if you try." A cute foreign girl would probably have a much easier time making friends than the surly and bitter Japanese teen returning from America.
A bit of motion in his peripheral vision caused Hiro to turn his head. He thought it was Tetsu and Patch at first, but then he looked a bit higher and saw another girl standing there. She was bright red and looking at them. It was then Hiro realized that everyone was still out in the open.
"Aw nuts... Tetsu, come over here." Hiro whispered forcefully at his partner. To his credit, the fox digimon paused and ran over to him with an expression of confusion. Hiro quickly picked the Dorimon up and placed him gently in his bag.
"Hey!"
"Shh! Just stay in there for now." Hiro said as he turned to A.J. and tilted his head towards the new girl. He wasn't betting on the getting two people that had digimon in a row.

"Itadakimasu."
A.J eyes lit up when she actually knew what Hiro was saying. "Hey, I know what that means! It means 'I humbly receive!'" She felt a twinge of pride that she was sharing her food with this Japanese boy. It was so interesting seeing two cultures cross over. She had tried some of the Japanese food and found it very interesting, especially her favorite was the raw egg on top of rice.
When Hiro explained that she would probably be very noticeable as a foreigner, she flushed a little. "Yeah, actually, I think I got quite a few stares this morning on my way to class, but when I sat down, everyone pretty much went about their business. Everyone has been nice so far, especially you."
She saw Hiro's head snap up and she couldn't help but look in the same direction. She blinked as she saw a new girl approach them, then take a few steps back, blushing furiously. When Hiro called Tetsu back, she palmed the concrete floor, whispering for Patch. The little cat-like Digimon blinked and glanced back then bounded over to her. Putting him in her backpack, she maneuvered her purple jacket she always had with her on top of him. She glanced at Hiro, not exactly sure what to do. She really hoped that this new girl hadn't seen their Digimon. Hiro had been lucky that she had Patch when she had came across him and Tetsu. "Uhm, can we help you?"

"..Oh, I'm sorry to... intrude. I just um... I just come up here to take my medicine and meditate..." Despite looking as white as white could be she spoke Japanese. "I hope I didn't intrude on your date... u-unless it's not a date! Oooh, I might have assumed, I mean... not that you don't make a cute couple but... oooh... I should probably leave..." Carrie was floundering like a dying fish, panicking and apologizing for everything... until she noticed the boy pick up Dorimon. "I... uh..." She looked completely confused and annoyed. Was she speaking to hallucinations again... no, it can't be... the food and the scents were obviously real. "H-I-Di-..." She was stuttering, by trying to cover their tracks the two had given themselves away to her.
"...I... wasn't seeing thi- no! No, it couldn't be... th-this is just my mind playing tricks on me again... I-I'll close my eyes and count to ten and all four of you will be gone by the time I open them..." She did just that, but found she was still in the same situation as before. She was hyperventilating now and as she walked tot he other side of the roof she turned around and took out a paper bag to breath into. "...OK... th-this has a logical explanation..." She finally said, turning back. "Th-that's just a dog and a cat... a-and I'm just seeing things again... s-sorry to intrude." She began to head to the door, clearly damaged by this experience.

"O...kay..." This entire situation had gotten out of hand. Hiro kind of ignored the dating comment, it probably would look like that. Two people sharing a meal alone on the roof, he could almost hear the rumors already. God he missed America sometimes.
So the girl was kind of freaking out now because of Tetsu and Patch. Great. This was exactly the type of situation that he wanted to avoid. Heck, this was why he didn't want to bring Tetsu with him to school. If it was in the city he could probably get away with saying Tetsu was some sort of weird dog or a talking doll. Shibuya was a bastion for weird.
He somehow didn't think that lie would work on the girl that was now hyperventilating.
"Psst. Hiro." Hiro ignored the talking bag and tried to think of something. "Hey Hiro!"
"What?!"
"Go help her."
"Why?!"
"Because it's the right thing to do." Tetsu poked his eyes out of the bag and stared at his partner, his eyes conveying that he thought the answer was obvious.
"Ugh, I... Damnit!" Hiro swore in English before moving slowly towards the girl. He took a small breath and switched mental gears back to Japanese. "Ano... please wait. If you would just give us a second. We could clear this up. Um... you're not hallucinating by the way."
"Just... please listen to us." Hiro pleaded with the girl softly. He really hoped she would calm down enough to at least listen to them.

A.J's eyes widened as the girl's gaze flickered around and she bumbled on hysterically. Of course she was speaking Japanese and so fast and jumbled that A.J knew nothing of what she was saying even though she had a basic concept of somethings in the language. However had she heard something about "dating?" She blushed furiously, her azure gaze slipping over to Hiro, looking to him for guidance. She had no idea what was going on.
The teenage boy seemed very conflicted, but A.J could hear how Tetsu convinced him to go help the girl. A.J could only watch in awe as he stood up from his spot on the ledge and moved over to the girl.
Patch's head popped out of the bag and looked up at A.J. "What's going on? What's wrong with that girl?"
A.J. put her index finger against her lips in a silent hush. "I'm not sure, but let's be quiet. I think Hiro is trying to calm her down."
[OOC: Sorry for sucky post, Didn't really know what else to post since A.J is not really involved in the situation xD]

She turned to look at him, clearly horrified by this experience. "OK... I... p-please don't t-touch me, I n-need to think... Wh-what are those things? ...How come the-they're talking?" She asked, calming down more and more slightly as time went on. "I-I'm sorry, I-I'm forgetting my etiquette... b-but I think the two of you w-would understand... hopefully... I-I'm Cathrine... b-but most people call me Carrie... Who are you two? Y-you don't have to answer if you don't want to... pooh, I'm sorry, I'm not good with new people and... I-I'll be quiet if you w-want me too..."
As she yammered and stammered she didn't notice her phone had fallen out of her pocket from where she initially sat. Perhaps AJ would notice the phone rumbling with a text message, and the cover of it appearing to be an unusual shade of green that it didn't seem to be before. As Carrie tried to calm down and listen to whatever logical explanation they may have for having talking pets on the rooftop of a public school she was trying to fumble with her bottle of medication, rereading it to make sure she hadn't grabbed her mother's sleeping medicine again. She was fidgety about this, the stress of the whole situation seeming to get to her as she looked around at seemingly nothing and clenched and unclenched her fists.
