Well, it doesn't seem like there's a change in the situation. Again, the boy was left alone. However, this time around he was given a task! (yay!) and it's not just a boring task of housewatching either! It's the fun task of-- sampling many and many of what Rosewood can offer. Food, drinks, toys and even books! Well, for the meantime, he only have one destination in mind, the bookstore!
"Comic? Hm, I don't think we have those picturesque books that human made. The art of mangamaking and comics in general have yet become commonplace for Digimons," the Jungle Mojyamon shopkeeper commented. "But there are some illustrated books if you want. Would you like that?"
"Is there any about heroes!?"
"Heroes... heroes... interesting question. I think we have ones about folklores instead. How about that?"
"Huh? There are nothing about heroes?"
"The understanding of Digimon's 'Heroes' are often not 'kind, powerful person who fights for justice' after all, but 'a Digimon of great renown that feats would awe even Yggdrasil and his royal knights'. But that's interesting one, young man. I'll keep my eyes open for that sort of stories. Normally, our tales came from bards after all."
And bards do make the stories a bit muddled. Somehow the boy remembered that from his dada. Kabelacedmon have a slight distaste toward bards and their storytelling, but do admit there is a merit in hyperbole and adding flairs upon certain tales.
Either way, he next visited some pita bread stand. Apparently it's one of the most liked way to enjoy the food while walking around. The boy still feel like it's a bit too uncouth for eating while walking though, so... first, he decided to order smoked beef pita, followed with mushroom special pita. He noticed that the price of the seafood ones are much more expensive (to the point that it's nearly double the mushroom one). The freshwater one is slightly better, but doesn't seem to be all that special either. He'd rather eat the... fowl meat ones.
Chomp...
Mmmh, the gentle, yet savory taste of gravy was the first that greeted him, followed with the smokey, mushroomy texture. There are also soft potato bits inside. It's lightly fried, so there are a slight layer of crisp, before it becomes soft, just like hash brown. What a masterful usage of herbs also. It makes him want more... Yes, more... chomp. It's also optional but there are scrambled egg inside. Half cooked, melty and creamy, with faint taste of milk and strong taste of black pepper. It was a perfect breakfast food!

Kohaku, Ruri, and their newly adopted uncle Takashi were taking a much-earned breaking in the living room of their new house. The trio had spent weeks properly moving in after Takashi bought the house, bringing old pieces of furniture in, going shopping for new pieces of furniture they didn't have yet, and many more tasks that involved a lot of heavy lifting... with some help from Kaito the Tuwarmon, as well. The Karatenmon was sitting on the reclining chair while Kohaku and Ruri sat next to each other on the sofa, the three of them just trying to catch their breaths after finally having moved in said recliner and sofa.
On the bright side, however, it meant that they had fully unpacked, and were now fully moved in to the city of Rosewood.
"You know, all that heavy lifting really works up an appetite," the Karatenmon eventually said after a prolonged period of silence. "I was thinkin' we could go exploring the city a bit and get something to eat there. What do you kids say?"
"That sounds amazing," Ruri said, her face brightening up.
"Rosewood food stands are freaking delicious," Kohaku said, getting hungry just from thinking about it.
"Well, what are we waiting for, then? Come on, I'll buy, so you two can pick out whatever you want."
The Karatenmon suddenly had a thought of both the Falcomon and Biyomon coming back with plates of just the worst go-together foods imaginable, remembering the weird taste in dishes that the two of them had back when they first met. Takashi simply shrugged it off, thinking he'd be too hungry to care, or that the kids wouldn't even offer any to begin with.
Kohaku, Ruri, and Takashi made their way to the food market, checking out the various stands and seeing what they were in the mood to eat the most. All the different stands looked very delicious, and the various smells were starting to make the birds' stomachs growl with anticipation. It was the pita bread stand that caught their attention the most in the end. Not only because of the various meat and mushroom toppings offered that would get anyone's mouth to water, but also because they saw a... human child at the stand? Not only that, he was eating a couple of pita breads from the stand as well.
He also looked like he was enjoying them a bit too much.
"Another human..." Kohaku said in a whispered tone, so only his family could hear.
"I've never actually seen a human up close before," Takashi admitted. "I've only ever heard about them in stories before."
"The humans Brother and I met were really nice. Maybe this one's the same way? We should say hi!" Without waiting for any sort of approval, Ruri would walk right up to the human snacking on some pita bread and wave to him. "Hi there, human! My name's Ruri. What's your name?"
Simple and straight to the point, that introduction was. How would the boy feel to a random Biyomon child coming up to give him a friendly greeting?

Uff, the mushroom one was superb, but what about the fowl meat tasting one? When he asked what sort of fowl meat it is, the answer he got is a strange eyebrow quirk and a question back "the kind that grew from the ground?". Apparently, between beef, mutton, venison and fowl it's all about which soil it is grown on. That was the very first time he heard it, but this world sure is wild.
...And then, he muttered a simple 'itadakimasu'... before once again sinking his teeth into the crusty bread... once again, he was greeted with the taste of chicken juice. With how it's seared on top of hot plate with tomato based sauce gave it plenty of acidic umami and that unmistakable sweetness of margherita-like sauce. It's also similar to that, come to think of it, with dash of baked paprika and plenty of cheese. The moment the boy pulled the bread, the string of cheese just followed, along with the trickle of the sauce. Whoops!
...But then his meal was interrupted by appearance of a Piyomon who looked interested in him.
The boy blinked twice, before biting at the cheese to clean the bitten section. "..........Name? Don't have any... yet," he answered. "...Not lost by the way, there's no need to alert the city patrol or something. I'm just enjoying my..." the boy squinted at the sky, seem to determining the hour of the day from there. "...My brunch."
...Oh right, he just remembered that he ordered a ramune... He slurped at the drink, enjoying each drops of the sweet goodness... Oh, that just hits the spot! Perfectly ten out of ten!

"Huh?" Ruri was admittedly very confused by the human's answer. He didn't have a name? From what she knew about humans, they all had unique names, unlike Digimon where half of them seemed to have nicknames while the other half went by their species names. For as little as she knew about humans, this was the one thing where even she knew that wasn't very normal in the slightest. The Biyomon ended up walking back to her brother and uncle in sheer confusion.
"You alright there, kiddo?" Takashi asked Ruri.
"I... don't know. The human just told me that he didn't have a name."
"Wait, are you serious?" Kohaku asked, looking legit surprised by that information.
Takashi, on the other hand, just looked even more confused. "What's wrong with that? Not all Digimon have names like us, after all. Even some of the Golden Sun members just go by their species names, like my Grandpappy Sinduramon."
"From our experience, all humans have names of their own," Kohaku informed his uncle. "I've never heard of one having no name at all before."
"Huh... goes to show I got a lot more I gotta learn about humans, then... maybe we should ask him some more questions, understand his situation a bit more."
Grrrrrrrrowwwwllll
Right then and there, all three birds' stomachs growled simultaneously, reminding them of why they came out here to begin with. Kohaku and Ruri both turned various shades of red while Takashi just laughed it off. "Hahahaha! I guess it's gonna have to wait until we get some food in us, huh? Come on, let's go order some of that pita bread. What do you guys want on yours?"
"Peanut butter and anchovies!"
"Bananas, mushrooms, and mustard!"
Takashi did a face fault when he heard those suggestions. He should've figured that these two would want weird as hell toppings on their pita bread. "Man, your grandpa really did a number on your taste buds there. I don't think this place has the toppings you're looking for... would the three of ya be okay with just the more popular topping choices?"
Kohaku and Ruri looked at each other for a bit, unsure of what to do, before they both just decided to nod "yes" to their uncle.
"Alrighty then, this shouldn't take too long," Takashi said as he walked up to the pita bread stand. "Gonna make it simple on you today; just give us the top three most popular items today, my good 'mon."

To be honest, he's still a bit hungry, so he decided to line back up to the queue, where several Vdramons with different colors are manning the grills and making the orders. He's right behind the bird trio, who apparently ordering three of the day's most well selling types? One of each he guessed.
"Alright, give me a minute," the red Vdramon answered, before cutting a pita bread. First he stuffed the vegetables in, such as lettuce and tomato, then stuffed in smoked beef inside. on top of that, he added a bit of fried potato before pouring in some black pepper sauce. The juicy meat would have leaked to the bread had the lettuce was not put in first, but with addition of the fried potato, the meat juice seeped inside the potato, which undoubtedly would make it much tastier. The slight tang of the tomato would compliment the entire dish too.
Now, his golden coworker (or perhaps brother?) did slightly the same, except instead of beef it was mushroom. The mushroom was bathed in gravy, added with some softly scrambled egg, and then also stuffed with some potato. Finally, it was the one that the boy have yet seen. The blue one is stuffing a bigger pita bread with half beef and half mushroom. Not done there, he also added a bit of smoked paprika and a little bit of pickle. Add shredded cheese inside and... filled the mouth until it's nearly full! But not only that, he brought it to a pressing machine and clipped the mouth of the bread, waiting for a few seconds until the cheese completely melted! After he looked satisfied with it, he popped it in a toaster for a bit before handing it to the other.
"Careful! This one is especially hot! Order's up, one kickin' pepper beef, one mushroom symphony, and one pitaburger!"
"That-!" reflexively, the boy said. "I'd like that, but adult sized!"
"Hahaha! Calm down, boy! We'll get to your order in a bit. Anyway that would be 750 bits for all three."

Damn, I must be hungrier than I thought, Takashi thought as he watched the chefs go to work preparing the pita bread for him and his niece and nephew. The three Veedramons were working hard to make the three different pita breads, and Takashi had to mentally will himself not to drool right then and there. He wasn't the type to get that hungry, so it was quite surprising for the Karatenmon to have his eyes be that glued to the food preparation process.
Maybe this'll make good material to mess with Kaito later, Takashi thought as a smirk formed on his beak. One of the main pranks he liked performing on his brother was describing food in such great detail to make the Tuwarmon hungry. Sometimes it worked, sometimes it didn't, but Takashi had a feeling that describing this would do the trick.
Kohaku and Ruri simply waited next to their uncle, but they could tell it looked good based on the face Takashi was making. They could hear the Karatenmon's stomach constantly growl as he was watching the food, too, which neither one of them wanted to point out. Still, it made the birds excited to finally try these dishes if Takashi thought they looked good. That's when Kohaku noticed that the human was standing in line behind them.
"You're that human my sister was talking about before, aren't you?" Kohaku asked the boy. "The one that didn't have a name, I mean. Why is that, I wonder? My name's Kohaku, and this here is our uncle Takashi."
"Nice to meet ya," Takashi said with a slight wave to the human. "Let me guess: you wanted seconds of that pita bread? Let me tell ya, these Veedramons mean business. I was moderately hungry before I ordered, but the way they're preparing it is not like anything I've ever seen, in a good way."
And that's when the three pita breads they ordered were rung up. The boy excitedly pointed at them and said he wanted that, but adult sized. Kohaku, Ruri, and Takashi all chuckled at how sudden the boy's request was. The red Veedramon then told Takashi that it would be 750 bits. "Alrighty, just gimme a second here," Takashi said as he looked in his pockets. He pulled out a few paper bills which equated to 750 bits, giving it to the Veedramon before taking the pita breads, handing one Kohaku and Ruri respectively. "Come on, let's go find somewhere to sit and eat."
Thankfully for them, there was an unoccupied bench close to the pita bread stand. "Itadakimasu!" With Takashi in the middle of the bench, Kohaku sitting on his right and Ruri on his left, the three of them opened their beaks in unison and took a bite of their long-awaited topped pita bread...
!!! !!! !!!
The delicate flavors danced on their tongues like ballerinas. It was one of the most delicious things that either of them had ever had. Dignity had completely gone out the window as all three birds started tearing away at their meals as if they hadn't eaten anything in over a week. In the back of his mind, Takashi was kind of glad Kaito wasn't here to see this, but he didn't care either way. It took at least two or three minutes before the birds were done with their meal, as they sat back against the bench to let it digest a bit.
"That was so, so good!" Ruri cheered, a bright smile present on her beak.
"I didn't think I'd ever have anything that would be as good as Gramps' cooking," Kohaku added.
"I'm definitely bringing Kaito to this place at some point," Takashi said, rubbing his satisfied belly with his right hand. "In fact, I just might get another one here later. What about you two?"
"Oh, definitely!" "Do you even have to ask?"

Hmn? They're talking to him? "No idea. I just don't have any. I don't remember my name, plus Tou-chan only calls me "boy"... well sometimes when I get a bit naughty he calls me "brat" or "kid", but he's always gentle with me. He said he'll think a good name for me later, but I think he's a bit busy so he forgot."
Right at that time, the Vdramon handed him a pita bread nearly half his size.
".....I think I might underestimated the size," the boy muttered, which the three Vdramon laughed at. The Digimon quickly swapped it for one about half the diameter, which is much more managable. "We're just pulling your leg a bit, boy, heh heh. That would be three hundred."
"Oh!" the boy chuckled once he understood they're just joking with him. Quickly, he paid the food and.... sink his teeth into the half and half.... MMFFH!
From the right corner of his lips, the meat of the juice trickling down as his face loosened. The acidity of the grilled onion, the fragrance of the spice on the beef, it made him so happy. The meat are soft and moist, with plenty of juice which made each chew flavor loaded explosion. The crunchiness of the lettuce also made it a texture changer. Ah, he loves this a lo-- hmn!? The moment he took another bite, he noticed something else that's crunchy-- no way, they added a layer of plate grilled crispy cheese too!? The boy's body reflexively sways like a pendulum from how much he's enjoying the food.
..."Ha!" before he knew it, he must have eaten the whole thing... leaving many Digimon and humans alike staring at him. Huh? Huh? What happened? Even the Vdramons? They all looked like they're drooling?
"HEY GIVE ME THREE OF THAT" "BIG ONE, GIVE ME THE BIG ONE" "NO SERIOUSLY, GIVE ME THE SUPER ULTIMATE SIZE. I'LL GIVE YOU A THOUSAND! THAT BOY ATE IT LIKE IT WAS SOME THEOBROMA-"
it gets really rowdy over there. What just happened? Eh well, he's full now. So he guess it's time to walk away from this place and... hmmmm... Should he go to a public training ground or something?

Okay, now this was starting to get bizarre. This human child claimed that he didn't remember his name, and that this Tou-chan fellow has only called him "boy" so far. Takashi couldn't help but get a bad feeling about this whole thing, considering his brother had just adopted these two bird children not that long ago, so Takashi was still in a "must protect children" kind of mode. Did something happen to that human boy...?
Kohaku, Ruri, and Takashi all were surprised by the massive size of the pita bread that the Veedramon initially gave the boy a pita bread that looked nearly half his size. "That sounds like quitter talk to me, boy," Takashi jokingly said when he overheard the boy say he underestimated the size. The Veedramon swapped it out for something more manageable shortly after, so it didn't matter all that much. Still, it was quite the funny joke.
Once the three birds were done with their pita bread, they noticed how everyone in the area was now just staring at the boy as he ate his. The way he was eating it was practically enticing to the humans and Digimon in the area. His body language was basically a signal to everyone there that this topped pita bread was practically a gift from the heavens. Ruri even noticed that the Veedramons looked hungry now. Kohaku looked around, and he could tell what was going to happen. "Takashi...?"
"Yeah, I see it too, kiddo," Takashi muttered back. "Ruri, grab onto my hand. On my signal, we'll- OOOOHH CRAP!"
It was too late. The bird siblings and their uncle were all but immediately trampled by the oncoming army of hungry Digimon, all desperate to have some of whatever the boy was eating. The family was helpless as they could each feel different pairs of Digimon feet stomp down on various parts of their body with no way of getting up or away. Once the crowd had dispersed, the Falcomon, Biyomon, and Karatenmon could now all be seen lying on the floor, groaning in pain.
"Yyyyep, I'm gonna be feeling that in the morning," Takashi said with a groan as he managed to move his arms enough to push himself off the ground, getting him back up into a sitting position. "Kohaku? Ruri? Are you two okay?"
"Nothing... that a little healing can't fix..." Ruri said as she got up onto her feet. Kohaku, on the other hand, only raised his right wing to give a thumbs up, not even trying to move anything else.
"Okay, good, good... not a word of this will go to your father, okay?"
Ruri couldn't help but laugh a little bit at that. Her gaze turned to the Veedramons, who had just run out of their ingredients thanks to the rush. All three of them looked really upset... Ruri figured it was because they had gone hungry just like the others, and they probably wanted to make their own pita breads, as well. She couldn't in good conscience leave them now after that. So, she pulled out some money that Takashi had given her some time ago and walked up to the now sold out pita bread stand.
"Your pita bread was very good. Thank you very much," Ruri said to the three Veedramons, before handing them her Bits. "Here, use this to buy yourselves some lunch for yourselves. There's a Burgamon restaurant not too far from here that I really like, just down that road over there."

In the midst of this all, the perpetrator, the one who caused all these frenzy, has moved away. Honestly, in his mind, it'll be an obstruction of business if he lingered way too long. And so, he moved to his next target... right, dessert and drink! Honestly, he's not in mood for something overpoweringly sweet or overpoweringly bitter. Something that is in between in the scale of a bit bitter and sweet... just as he thought of that, he accidentally wandered into a stall...
"Oh, dear, lost are we?"
the proprietess looked like an aging Tailmon, dressed in what looked like a grandma shawl. Her fur are much longer than the normal Tailmon, with most of it even covering her eyes. Her whiskers and eyelashes are also longer... one noticable thing is that she's not wearing the traditional Tailmon's gloves.
"Oh, no, I'm actually looking for a dessert and drink..."
"Oh~? Why don't you tell that before, dearie? I think your nose led you here then."
"Is this some sort of dessert stall then?"
"Well, you can think of it something like an open air, small kissa or sort."
The grandma Tailmon also... is quite big now that he thinks of it, almost a bit taller than he is. He saw Tailmons before, and they're not this big for sure.
"Heh heh, you looked like you're curious about me."
"Oh, sorry, you're just so unique looking, grandma!"
"Unique looking... heh heh, I guess that's a way to look at it. I suppose there's not much of a Tailmon Oma around. Now, what are you in mood for, young man? I suppose you're not into something too bitter like a coffee... how about a tea?"
"I think something a bit sweet would be more to my alley at the moment... Like, I just ate something REALLY savory so..."
"Ah, a balancing act is it? Well then..." slowly, as fast as her frail body could do it, the Tailmon looking grandma tossed in some jasmine and tea leaves on a tea distiller. "A slightly bitter one to wash off the saltiness... and then we'll talk about the oil."
"Oil?"
"Oh yes, to wash oil down, you usually would go for something more sour, but not the kind that goes in a cake, no. It'll be another drink."
Come to think of it, this place is oddly calm compared to the other... but... strangely, it's quite empty. The scent of tea mixed with the floral jasmine felt very relaxing. It makes him felt like most of his worries are washing away... how is it that this shop is devoid of customers like this?
"Traditional crafts such as mine is relic of old time, unfortunately, darling. It's getting phased out by the more recent ventures."
"But you're still opening your shop anyway?"
"Of course! For us old people, it is not the money that we seek. We seek simpler things in life... let's see... like us talking like this, and enjoying the moment, that's all that we would like you see... Yes, kind of feeling slightly young again."
"You looked young still, grandma~"
"Ohohoho, a little charmer, hmn~? I couldn't give you much but my best service in return though!"
