Unica Scarlett
"i'll stay here by your side, i only wish to see you smile. you're such an interesting child. now there's no need to fight." overview GENDER ▸ Female (she/her) AGE ▸ 14 years BIRTHDAY ▸ June 30th ALIGNMENT ▸ Lawful good ETHNICITY ▸ American BIRTH PLACE ▸ South Carolina, United States of America RESIDENCE ▸ Greater Shibuya District in Tokyo, Japan appearance RACE ▸ Caucasian/White, American HAIR ▸ Light blonde, long, straight EYES ▸ Light blue HEIGHT ▸ Estimated 5 feet (152.4 centimeters) WEIGHT ▸ Estimated 110 pounds (49.9 kilograms) PHYSIQUE ▸ Healthy, slightly muscular CLOTHES ▸ Dresses and frilly skirts, hair ribbons and pins, a friendship bracelet on her left wrist, a digivice cradle on her right wrist, red backpack with a Biyomon and dango keychain on the zippers FACE CLAIM ▸ Sena Kashiwazaki from Haganai ( image) DESCRIPTION ▸ Unica is in her early adolescence and her appearance reflects that fact. Though she used to be heavyset, all her adventures in the digital world have led to a more active lifestyle. Because of this, she has lost weight and has gained some muscle mass. She looks like a healthy, physically fit young lady. Her long hair, which may have once been classified as "bleach blonde," has yellowed somewhat with age. While the underside of her hair has darkened into a slightly richer shade, the top layers had remained light due to the amount of time she spends outside in the sun. Her blue eyes are perhaps her most striking trait, standing out due in part to the blues and whites she tends to wear. Being born to two Caucasian Americans, Unica's skin color matches that of her biological parents. Though she used to be pale, she now tends to a sport a light tan, once again thanks to how often she spends outdoors. INVENTORY ▸ - A lavender and white D-3 digivice. It often sits in a digivice cradle that goes on Unica's right wrist.
- A red backpack that contains all of Unica's other inventory items.
- A travel-sized planner that contains the contact information for both Unica and her parents. It also contains information regarding her school and homework assignments.
- School supplies, ranging from notebooks and folders to a lunchbox and pencil pouch.
- Secondhand cell phone. It has a couple apps but is otherwise used for taking pictures and texting friends.
personality Before she learned about the digital world, Unica was an emotional, naive, and clingy child. Any little inconvenience would send her sobbing, and being told "no" would cause her to throw a fit, no matter where she was or who was watching. Over the last year, however, she has grown and matured into a more confident, dependent individual. Thanks to the people and Digimon she's met along the way, she now feels comfortable standing her ground, especially when it comes to bullies. This fact has come as both a blessing and curse for her parents who are proud of the fact that she is finding her voice but are also frustrated with the fact that she now has the "attitude" to talk back. And yet, she loves her family and they love her, so any disagreements they have are usually short-lived and have no lasting impact.
With that said, Unica has learned how to mask her true intentions and feelings. If given a gift that she doesn't particularly like, she will thank the gift-giver instead of voicing her displeasure. This higher level of cognitive thinking is mostly due to the fact that her brain is developing at a regular pace, but the attitude and dishonest has most likely developed due to the amount of time she spends with Birdie. As is normal of a child's growth, she is more acutely aware of how others feel and isn't so self-centered. Of course, she still has moments of selfishness, but she is now capable of putting herself in someone else's shoes and seeing situations from multiple different angles. It’s about a 75-25 split between whether she’ll be selfless and do something for others or if she’ll act out of self-interest,
As an eight-year-old, Unica still displays mimicking behavior; that is to say, if someone is doing something such as weight-lifting, cleaning, or singing, she will copy the behavior in an attempt to create social connections. Although this was once her way of experiencing different hobbies and finding out what was really enjoyable, she has since found things that she truly enjoys. She loves cooking and dancing, but she also has a fondness for singing, drawing, and playing sports. When it comes to dancing, Unica will oftentimes grab anything that looks remotely like pompoms and jump around in an attempt to mimic cheerleaders.
LIKES ▸ Sweets, strawberries, cooking, hanging out with friends, rabbits, dancing, singing, playing sports like soccer and track, beaches DISLIKES ▸ Bullies, cherries and cherry-flavored food, mosquitoes, curfew, horror movies, being ignored, being alone, fights and arguments, death
history Unica's Digimon story began when she was only six years old. On her way to school one day, she was suddenly teleported to the middle of a strange desert full of bizarre monsters. A helpful tamer taught her the basics of the digital world and brought her to Terminus City with the intention of returning her to the human world by train. But before they could reach the terminal, a Biyomon ran into them by pure happenstance. It took no time at all for the truth to set in: Unica and this Biyomon (nicknamed "Birdie") were partners. The reactive digivice was proof of that.
Despite the pink bird's spite and attitude, the two were destined to work together. Over the following few years, the duo had their fair share of arguments, fights, and "break-ups" however, they always returned to one another. Unica struggled to find her voice while Birdie strove to get stronger. In this time, Birdie officially met Unica's mother — an American woman named Maria Scarlett — and they learned how to reliably reach Ultimate level, both in and out of battle.
The most shocking discovery came in the form of a Cerberumon who called himself "Rook." He explained that he had been lying dormant in The Dark Area for years, waiting for the day his queen would return to reclaim the throne. After the castle ruins were disturbed by a group of travelers, he woke from his hibernation and took it upon himself to track down his queen instead. The trail, he explained, led straight to Birdie. He explained that in a previous life, she was a powerful Lilithmon who commanded an army against the Titamon who ruled the region at the time. Unfortunately, she fell in battle and her subjects either fled or were killed for their loyalties.
Rook was one of the few who managed to escape with his life.
Upon hearing this tale, Birdie was in denial that she was the queen in question, but she couldn't deny that she had experienced flashes of long-lost memories as she spoke. In search of answers, Birdie ordered Rook to bring her to the castle ruins in the Dark Area. He agreed, and Unica reluctantly followed along. Over the course of a few weeks, Birdie regained memories and Rook felt his frigid heart thaw with each interaction he had with Unica. It was a long, hard journey for the trio, and their efforts eventually culminated into a cataclysmic event.
Upon returning to her old throne, Birdie remembered her past. A past of blood, greed, and control. A mental lock came undone, giving her access to a familiar mega form: Lilithmon. Her form shifted in a matter of seconds, causing Unica to spiral into a fit of panic. The powerful demon lord, frustrated with her human partner, used mind-altering abilities to silence the young girl and trap her in a mental maze. Birdie began her world-controlling efforts in earnest, starting in the Eastern Timberlands.
Hungry for revenge, she began to wreak havoc in the forest, fully intent on eventually leveling the region and consuming the data of any Digimon who dared stand in her way. Hoping for even greater power, Birdie pushed herself further into Unica's mind, corrupting the young girl and leading to an Ultra evolution: a mindless, monstrous DeathXmon.
Seeing how far things had gone, Rook allied himself with the locals and led a counterattack against the beast who he once called "queen." The battle was long and arduous, but it ended with Rook and his allies cleansing the evil from Unica's heart with a series of vaccine-based abilities. This single act disrupted the connection between tamer and partner, freeing the young tamer from her partner's influence and leaving DeathXmon open. Rook and the locals unleashed a barrage of attacks which reduced Birdie to data, which floated skyward and reassembled as an egg in the Village of Beginnings.
When Unica awoke, she explained how she didn't remember anything that happened since they found the ruins in the Dark Area. She was given a brief recap of events before being escorted to the Village of Beginnings where she and Rook located Birdie's egg. It took longer than expected to hatch, and the tiny Puwamon took weeks to finally evolve to her rookie form. Though she was vague about what she remembered about her previous life with Unica, one thing was certain: something was different about her. Unlike before, she was generally quiet-spoken and sensitive.
Years have passed since then and Birdie has remained reluctant to evolve, worried that she will once again lose control and turn into a beast. Her greed and selfishness appears to have tapered off since her rebirth, but there's no telling what's going on in her subconscious mind. Unica, on the other hand, has moved on with her life. She excels in school, has made many human and Digimon friends, and spends ample time in the digital world, usually volunteering to help out around the Spartan Training Grounds.

"i am the devil that you forgot and i told you one day you will see that i’ll be back, i guarantee.” overview GENDER ▸ Female ALIGNMENT ▸ True neutral BIRTHDAY ▸ October 6th BIRTH PLACE ▸ Village of Beginnings, Eastern Timberlands RESIDENCE ▸ Old Terminus, Terminus City DEFAULT FORM ▸ Rookie, Biyomon HOLOSUIT ▸ Julis-alexia Van Riessfeld from The Asterisk War ( image) personality Since Birdie’s rebirth, she has been more passive and quiet-spoken. Though this shift in behavior was alarming at first, it has since become a staple of her personality. Whereas she used to crave violence and go out of her way to fight other Digimon, she is now reluctant to engage in combat and is even more hesitant to evolve, even when a situation calls for it. On occasion, her infamous attitude and short temper rears its ugly head, but she is often quick to apologize soon thereafter. She isn’t usually the type to go out of her way to lend aid, but if Unica or Rook ask for her assistance, she’ll usually tag along and help however she can. Despite these major changes, her distrust of humans and her aversion to the Eastern Timberlands remain. Initial Evolution

- Tempestuous Wind: With a few flaps of her wings, Birdie summons a mighty 30mph breeze that is capable of knocking back light enemies and slowing medium-sized enemies.
- Cutlass Brace: The feathers on Birdie's wings harden into a steel and can be used for practical application, offense, or defense. Fortified wings make flight a challenge, forcing her to be grounded while using.

- Cyclone Blast: Birdie beats all twelve of her wings and summons 70mph winds which are capable of knocking back most enemies. Trees and buildings are at risk of being uprooted and destroyed.
- Holy Desire: By pantomiming the action of pulling back a bow string, Birdie is capable of summoning a bolt of red and blue energy that is subsequently launched at the enemy when she releases the non-existent bow string. The arrow hones onto its target and seeks out the enemy like a heat-seeking missile.
- Paradise Lost: Birdie launches the opponent high into the air with a wild dance of blows. Once they're in the air, she holds their limbs fixed in a spread-eagle position as she drives them back down to the ground with a devastating punch.
- Vile Claws: Birdie creates large claws out of energy. If a Vaccine Digimon is struck with her left, red hand then they receive double damage as their flesh begins to corrode; if a Virus Digimon is struck with her right, blue hand then they receive double damage as their flesh begins to corrode; no other Digimon type will be affected by corrosion, though they will take damage from the initial slash. At about that time, Unica had returned with a plastic cup filled to the brim with water. She walked slowly and with a sense of precision, each step made with careful consideration and patience as to not spill the water which threatened to spill if Unica wobbled even a little. "I've never heard of such a thing before," Maria said, daring not point out that she didn't have a high-level education or much of a grasp on the Japanese language, and so there were many things she hadn't heard of before. "Uh, yeah. No duh," Birdie scoffed, as though she were talking to a full-blooded moron. "There's a good reason for that. We try to keep a low profile 'cause our kinds don't really have all that great a history." "Our kinds. You mean Digimon and humans?" Maria asked. Birdie rolled her eyes. "Yeah, Digimon and humans." Maria grew silent as she considered it, but after a few moments, her eyes widened and she remembered an incident in which she believed she had met a Digimon before. "Do all Digimon look like you?" she asked Birdie. "No. I'm whatcha call a Biyomon. There are all sorta of us. Dogs, cats, dragons..." "Bunnies!" Unica added as she finally reached her mother's side and handed over the cup of water. "Thank you, hun," Maria said quietly while turning her attention to her daughter. "Do you remember that time we went to the park, and there was a big ol' lizard with wings, and mommy got really scared when she say you playing with it? Do you remember that?" Unica smiled at the memory and nodded. "Uh-huh!" she exclaimed. "He was really sad because no one liked him." "Mhm. Was that a Digimon, Unica?" The young tamer put an index finger to her lips and considered it for a moment before nodding frantically and giggling. "His name was Mommy-dinosaur-mon!" "Mommy...?" Maria mused aloud before her voice trailed off as her eyebrows furrowed together in confusion. These monsters had very peculiar names indeed. "Monodramon?" Birdie piped up, taking a stab in the dark about what the child could've really meant. "Yeah!" Unica chimed with a massive smile on her face. She was giddy at the fact that her mommy now knew everything. It was like sharing a really juicy secret (after being given permission to share it, of course). The correct pronunciation of the creature's name was of little concern to Maria, however. She was more fascinated by the fact that monsters actually existed. "Great, now that everyone knows each other... Unica. Portal. Now," Birdie said, clapping her wings in an attempt to get her tamer's attention. Unica, however, had other plans. She frowned, groaned, and grabbed the arm of the recliner in defiance. "Portal?" Maria asked as she reached out and stroked the top of her daughter's head. Then it clicked. Unica had said that she used portals to travel between world in order to meet up with Birdie. With the realization that these stories were true, Maria put the cup of water beside the digivice on the coffee table and brought both hands to her face as she closed her eyes and wrapped her head around the fact that Unica hadn't been playing with local children as she had previously believed. Instead, her child had literally jumped between worlds in order to play with monsters. Literal monsters. Strangers were bad enough, but flesh-and-blood monsters... "Mommy?" Unica's quiet voice shattered the silence and brought Maria back to her sense. With a sigh, the elder woman removed her hands from her face and forced a brave smile. "I'm okay, baby girl," Maria murmured. 609 / 500 word count (unedited) 3 out of 3 daily posts

Character Overview Fuyuhiko Matsuura Gender Male | alignment Neutral Good | birthday July 23rd | Age 17 | est. Height 5.5ft / 167cm | est. Weight 150lbs / 68kg |
Personality, Fuyuhiko is first and foremost imaginative. He can frequently be found daydreaming — whether in class, out in public, or in the comfort of his own home. While he’ll indulge in any fantasy that allows him to escape from the real world, he most enjoys media involving crime fighting and vigilante justice. More specifically, he likes to doodle superhero costumes and imagine himself fighting crime using a wide array of weapons and superpowers. His obsession with fiction wouldn’t normally be an issue if it didn’t interfere with his daily life.
Overall, Fuyuhiko is pretty negligent with his studies, as he’d rather spend time reading comic books, visiting the arcade, or drawing instead of focusing on schoolwork. When he does try to study and complete assignments, he tends to struggle, either because he gets distracted or because he wasn’t paying enough attention in class to understand the material. The term “attention deficit disorder” has been thrown around in reference to Fuyuhiko's difficulties in school, but he has never been officially diagnosed. His parents, for one, chalk it up to laziness and procrastination. When he is interested in something, such as an art project or in leveling up in a video game, he can focus his for hours at a time. The issue is motivating him to do what needs to be done, such as preparing for college — or so say his parents.
Fuyuhiko never intentionally disobeys his parents. In fact, he wishes more than anything to make his them proud. He would never consider skipping school or running away from his responsibilities altogether to spite his folks, regardless of how overbearing they can be. Life for him might be easier if he had the ability to stand up for himself, put his foot down, and make a decision for himself, but as for right now, he lacks the courage and willpower. He respects his parents too much and allows them full control over his life; thus, leading his parents to be at the root of many of his anxieties, even when they're just trying to do what they think is best for him.
Fuyuhiko frequently struggles with toeing the line between doing what brings him joy and doing what is expected of him. While he has considered dropping out of school and attempting to pursue a career as a comic book artist or a costume designer, he is constantly reminded that it's “not a plan for success” and “it wouldn't pay the bills.” So instead, he has opted to make his parents proud by applying for college and eventually pursuing a career in law, medicine, or finance. Unfortunately, his unexceptional test scores, lack of involvement in extracurriculars, and tendency to daydream make this option difficult.
He has considered joining the military or becoming a police officer, believing that it would be an ideal middle-ground between what he wants and what his parents want. Such jobs are respectable and would most certainly earn him some praise from his parents; plus, it would be the closest way for him to fight real-life villains, just like the heroes in his comics. There's no denying he had a firm sense of justice and doing what’s right, but something prevents him from actively pursuing this route. Not only does it lack the fanciful nature of superhero work, but it requires courage and physical prowess, two things Fuyuhiko currently lacks.
Skills: Fuyuhiko doesn't exactly have book smarts or street smarts, but he does have enough heart and imagination to make up for it. He is skilled in art, namely in the cartoon/manga style and in designing clothes that are both functional and attractive. He has exceptional hand-eye coordination as a result of his years of playing video games; and while he does have the skill level to play competitively, he has never competed out of fear that it would disappoint his parents. He also knows basic CPR and random medical facts, all thanks to his parents’ profession.
Appearance, MY LITTLE MONSTER • sōhei sasahara • Fuyuhiko Matsuura Fuyuhiko is a fairly average seventeen year old boy. He's roughly five feet, six inches tall and about one-hundred-fifty pounds. His parents argue about whether or not he is "too skinny" or "too wide," but such bickering only leaves Fuyuhiko feeling insecure about his body. To help hide his true weight, he tends to wear multiple layers, even if the weather doesn't require it; for instance, in summer months, he might wear a vest or short-sleeve jacket over his shirt. As far as pants are concerned, anything is fine. Jeans, sweats, and shorts are all viable options, so long as they aren't too revealing. The same can be said for shoes, though sneakers are his go-to choice. Fuyuhiko's hair is a dark brown, appearing almost black when wet. On average, he lets his hair do whatever it wants, not bothering to take the time putting product in it. Since it's only a few inches long, it tends to part in the center of his forehead and stick up in the back. While it doesn't always take on these properties, it's often enough for it to be considered commonplace. He'll sometimes comb it with gel if he's preparing for a formal event, though these instances are few and far between. Those who know him well and see his hair slicked back might not recognize him immediately. It's not enough of a change to hide his identity completely, but it is enough to take someone off guard if they aren't prepared for it. There's no denying that he got his wild hair from his mother, but that's not the only physical trait they share. Many folks say he has her eyes, down to the color, shape, and even eyelash length. Much like his how his hair can appear to change color depending on whether or not it's wet, Fuyuhiko's eyes are a deep brown which occasionally appear black or even grey depending on the lighting. They are so dark, in fact, that his pupils sometimes seem to disappear completely, blending in with his iris. Inventory, Messenger bag: A faux leather over-the-shoulder bag with a single flap and two buckles keeping the contents safely inside. It’s usually used to carry Fuyuhiko’s school supplies, but it can be emptied to hold anything else.
Sketchbooks: A small collection of sketchbooks used to practice anatomy, sketch new outfits, and doodle cartoon characters. Most drawings are done in pencil, but some are done in pen or marker.
D-Tector Digivice: This D-Tector is used for digivolution and storing spirits. It has a black body, dark purple grip, and red buttons.
D-Terminal: A handheld computer used to send texts and emails, play video games, watch videos, listen to music, and analyze unknown Digimon.
Key ring: The keys on this metal ring are used for an apartment, a post office box, a bike lock, and a safebox he has hidden under his bed containing an array of personal belongings. Each key is distinct in color and shape.
Wallet: A slim, black bifold wallet used only to carry cash and an ID.
History, Fuyuhiko was born on July 23rd in Tokyo, Japan to Eito and Akiara Matsuura, two general surgeons from the Setagaya municipal. His childhood was a fairly average one. He had a decent relationship with his parents, he did alright in school, and he had a fair number of friends. Nothing exceptional or traumatic happened in his youth. The only thing one might find out of the ordinary is the fact that he spent a lot of time by himself as a child. Because both of his parents were renown doctors, they would be away at work most of the day and would sometimes have to stay late or return to work for an emergency procedure.
This isn't to say his parents were never home and never spent quality time with their son, but it was often enough for Fuyuhiko to develop a habit of visiting the arcade after school rather than coming straight home. What was the rush to go home and do homework anyway? Not only was it lonely returning to an empty house, but no one was there to insist he get his homework done first. Even on the days he did go home after class, he usually wouldn't immediately work on his assignments, instead deciding to make himself something to eat and watch cartoons. Despite this, he never let his hobbies interfere with what he knew needed to get done. "One hour at the arcade then home to study." "Two shows then I need to turn everything off and do homework."
Because he always made sure to get his assignments done and study for upcoming tests, Fuyuhiko did well in school. There was a time when he would receive high marks and would be praised by his teachers for his hard work. But something changed and school became more difficult for him. No one knows exactly when the shift occurred, but it started at some point early in high school. Was it a display of teenage angst, silently rebelling against his parents and teachers? Was it the result of a child reluctantly accepting the fact that he was becoming an adult? Or perhaps it had something to do with the move from Setagaya to Shibuya during his sophomore year of high school (10th grade).
Fuyuhiko never bothered learning the details of why they moved. The only thing that mattered to him was the fact that his parents were uprooting their entire life in Setagaya to move fifteen minutes away. It seemed like a waste of time, effort, and money. The icing on the cake was the fact that his parents hadn't asked Fuyuhiko for his opinion on the matter. Granted, they normally didn't consult him when making big decisions, but it felt like his parents didn't care at all how it affected his life. Even though he was frustrated, he never went out of his way to say anything about how he felt. He kept silent and played the role of obedient son, pretending to be happy about the move in order to spare his parents' feelings.
For the first few months after the move, he would ride his bike, the train, or a taxi to Setagaya in order to visit his friends and hang out at their favorite spots. However, as time passed, he stopped going. He needed to focus on his studies, and his friends needed to do the same. Schedules conflicted, money grew tight, and motivation was lost. Though Fuyuhiko still keeps in touch with many of his childhood friends via text or email, he doesn't see them as often as he used to. After the first couple months, Fuyuhiko's grades began to slip. It was subtle at first. Lower test scores in subjects he normally excelled in. A late or missing assignment here and there. Projects which only met the bare minimum requirements.
Over time, these behaviors worsened until he was a few weeks into junior year (11th grade) and his parents received a phone call from one of his teachers. Fuyuhiko, his parents, and the professor all met to discuss his poor test scores and inappropriate behavior in class. "Mister and Missus Matsuura, it's a pleasure," the teacher began before diving into her list of complaints. "I can tell your son has promise, but he's unmotivated to complete classwork assignments or turn in homework. He reads comic books in class and stares out the window, at who knows what. If this behavior persists, I'm afraid he might be held back a year." The teacher began to theorize about what she thought might be contributing to the issue, but Fuyuhiko had long-since toned her out.
The ride home after the meeting was silent, but the moment they entered the apartment and closed the door, the reprimanding began. Fuyuhiko's parents took turns voicing their disappointment, claiming that they expected more of their son and explaining how he'd be no better than a bum on the street if he didn't start turning his life around. "You don't seem to understand the importance of your schooling," his father spat, and for some reason that line stuck in Fuyuhiko's mind. Perhaps because, in that moment, he realized that his parents valued his grades over his mental state. Was that all he was to them? Did they even care what he was going through?
After a long, one-sided belittling session, Fuyuhiko's parents grounded him. In the Matsuura household, grounding meant that Fuyuhiko was required to return home immediately after school. To prove to his parents that he was obeying, he had to send a picture of the clock in their living room to his father as soon as he got home. He was given more chores to do on top of the ones he did regularly, and his parents checked his homework whenever they got back from work. To top it all off, many of Fuyuhiko's personal belongings were confiscated. No superhero and anime figurines. No manga or comics. No television or gaming devices. They even took his sketchbooks, seemingly unaware that he was able to doodle on the same lined paper he used for school.
This was the worst month of Fuyuhiko's life, but it did an excellent job getting him back on track. His test scores improved, he was turning in homework on time, and he learned discipline. As a reward, his parents lifted the "come home straight after school" rule and slowly restored his belongings over the coming weeks. All in all, everything seemed to be going well. Test scores were okay, parents were proud, and teachers were happy... but Fuyuhiko was not. Day after day, he became more aware of how fast senior year (12th grade) was approaching, and he began to worry about what he would do once it was all over.
College? That's what his parents wanted, anyway, but was that what he wanted to do? Did his desires even matter at all? All answers pointed to no. The only thing that did matter was school and work. "Finding a wife" was in there somewhere too, according to his parents. Alternatively, if he pursued his own dreams then what guarantee was there that he would be successful or that he would make his parents proud? Perhaps a single act of bravery could help put him on the right path.
