Hearing Mandrakes reason for his family to be out here in the middle of nowhere made sense. They were doing right teaching their daughter to take care of her self. By showing her how to forage when her web failed to catch anything for her to eat. However Luke wondered if that was all they were going to teach her. She did look kinda small.....but it was never to early to at least teach her how to fight off an enemy. Self defense was especially important, even if she could sense danger with her telepathic ability. She should still learn how to throw a good punch if she couldn't run from the danger.
"thats good! never to early to start survival training!" Luke chirped with a smile. He remembered his younger days when his own father would take him out into the more mountainous or forests of japan. They would camp and his father taught him a lot on how to survive in the wild. Its thanks to him that he was currently surviving and thriving out here. "have you guys started training her in self defense yet?" he asked. His curiosity(or nosy) nature was both a blessing and a curse. Not that Luke could ever tell.

When Luke said it was never too early to start survival training, Lothar nodded before he said "Mandrake and I were thinking the same thing seeing as Circe is a rookie stage digimon and that is the stage where digimon begin to show more independence." Arukenimon's abuse and abandonment of Circe when she learned that Circe turned out to be quite gentle by nature much like Mandrake. At least when Circe was able to function on her own she would be able to survive by foraging for food when her web caught nothing.
When Luke asked if Mandrake and Lothar had started training her in self defense yet, Mandrake shook his head before he said "Unfortunately we have not. The closest either of us have come to working on self defense was where I began helping her learn to control her magical energies." Mandrake glanced at Circe who was still quietly eating before the little spider child glanced back at the Wizardmon.
"D-Daddy?" she asked cocking her head to the side curiously.
"Don't worry, little one." Mandrake said in a soothing tone as Circe finished her meat apple and Mandrake handed her some mushrooms which she accepted eagerly and started eating them.

Yup that was defiantly good. Teaching their child independence at an early age was also something Luke agreed with. Not that he pictured himself with kids in the future or anything. But coming from a kid whos parents raised him to be wild and free and independent. It really helped him grow and learn. In fact it was his idea for him to enroll in self defense classes.
Specifically Kung Fu.
Speaking of self defense. It appeared that little Circe has yet to be taught how to defend herself. The teen tilted his head when Circe reached for one of her fathers after Mandrake had answered his question. Was she afraid to fight??? I mean that was very common, especially with shy people like Circe. Luke had seen some of the kids and even teens like himself who are still attending self defense classes, walk out after one or two classes. Feeling like the class was not something they liked very much. In any case, if Circe was not ready mentally to start training. Then she should not be forced into it, it would do more harm then good. But maybe....
"She does look to young to be training physically" Luke said with a nod. He had attended Kung Fu classes since he had been very young. However during those first classes they really didn't do much to strain the young kids under their care. The most they did was learn some breathing exercises and the bear bone basics. Basically a small crash course of what they were going to learn in future classes. "but I know some exercises she can learn that'll help her in the future" Luke chirped with another sunny grin. "that is if you wanna learn some exercises Circe! what do you say?" Luke asked as he turned his sunny smile to Circe. "a friendly trade for sharing your apples with me!"

"I know we should have expected at least one of our children to not be brimming with the confidence our three elder children have." Lothar said and as Luke mentioned Circe being too young to be training physically Lothar nodded before the Leomon said "I worry about that with the little one as well. At least she can control her magic like her siblings can."
"It would seem our children have all had a knack for magic Lothar. At least the ones that share my data anyway." Mandrake said. Sure though Kshin didn't share data with either Mandrake or Lothar but the pair saw the young Gumdramon as one of their children just the same.
"Our eldest child developed an interest in martial arts specifically in Kung Fu and at least if Circe shows interest in that fighting style her older brothers could help her out there." Lothar said.
"True but despite being timid and shy it seems Circe has shown to have taken a lot after me so she has a chance to be a rather cunning child even if she doesn't develop much interest in any fighting style." Mandrake said before he continued "Which makes me wonder at some level what sort of offensive abilities she has since she has only exhibited either the defensive ability I mentioned or the non combat ability to create webbing."
Circe, who was eating some of the mushrooms she was handed, looked at Luke before the shy spider child nodded as she said "W-Well it wouldn't hurt to learn some of t-those exercises. T-They might even come in handy when I grow up."

Wait a minute, THESE GUYS COULD USE MAGIC!!??
Luke's eyes seemed to sparkle at the mention of magic. He loved magic! it was fun to watch someone perform it! especially if they were good enough to make it believable. It had been very tempting to ask about the magic that Mandrakes family could preform. And if he could show him come magic tricks.
Surprisingly Luke had actually managed to stop himself when he remembered exactly what he was supposed to be doing right now. That was helping Circe learn some exercises that would help her learn a fighting style in the future when she was ready. However the next piece of information had succeeded on completely distracting him for a moment "you're family knows Kung fu??!!" Luke asked with excitement. His high energy personality coming forth full force now that a subject he was very passionate about came up. "no way! what a coincidence!!" he chirped with a large grin on his face "I trained in Kung Fu too, specifically the Monkey Style" Luke said as he finished his second apple and stood up.
He had so many questions to ask about what styles their kids used, how they learned Kung Fu and if they had any new information about the fighting style that he used. He wanted to know all of it, however he had glanced at Circe and was once again reminded that there was something more important to attend to at the moment. "in any case! lets get started Circe" he chirped as he stepped back a few feet. Enough space to give him and Circe space to preform the exercises but close enough to her parents that they don't worry about her safety.

Mandrake noticed how Luke's eyes sparkled at the Wizardmon's mention of his family's natural talent for magic. To him he didn't think to much of it seeing as he inherited magic from his ancient father Theron. "Yes, Luke, Mandrake and I's two eldest sons have picked up Kung Fu. LJ, our eldest, not only taught himself the very martial art but also taught his little brother and our adopted son Kshin how to fight as well. Neither of our daughters have shown outward interest in martial arts as a whole though." Lothar said and as Luke exclaimed he trained in Monkey style Kung Fu Lothar then said "You're right about that being a crazy coincedence, Luke."
Circe watched as Luke finished his apple and stood up mentioning getting started as he stepped back a few feet. Circe finished eating her mushrooms before nervously looking at Mandrake, Lothar, and Luke as if not sure what to do. Mandrake reached over and rubbed her back in a reassuring manner but neither he nor Lothar said anything. After a moment Circe began to rise to her feet getting into a ready position despite still looking unsure. She knew Luke wasn't likely gonna hurt her but deep down her timidness was making her uncomfortable with her beginning to bite her lip nervously. However though she knew she was safe with two champion level digimon as parents she still couldn't help but be nervous.

What a small world. Luke didn't think he would meet another family who knew Kung Fu. I mean its not like its hard to learn. Rather there are only a few people that learn fighting styles to defend themselves with. At least most people that Luke meets don't. As much as he wanted to ask more. Luke had noticed that Circe had finished eating and was ready to start.
He shifted his focus to Circe and moved away a little, just to give her more space. After all if she was uncomfortable she wasn't going to be focused 100% on the exercises. "all right" Luke chirped "lets start with a few stretches. If we don't stretch, we'll get muscles cramps in the middle of our exercises". With that the teen stretched his arms up high "first we're going to reach for the sun" the teen said before bending down, keeping his arms stretched and touching his toes.
"then we're going to touch our toes"

Circe kept an eye on Luke watching as the teen moved away a bit giving her space. Sure she knew that since he was a human that deep down he wasn't much of a threat to her the young spider's inherent shyness and timidness often ruled the little ones' behavior. When he chirped out about starting with a few stretches. Sure even she understood the importance of stretching before exercising but didn't voice such. Meanwhile Mandrake and Lothar were now sitting next to each other watching the pair. Glancing at Mandrake and Lothar Circe felt safer before she glanced back at Luke as the teen mentioning that first they were going to reach for the sun while reaching up high. "O-Okay." Circe shyly said as not only did she stretch her arms upward but the little spider legs on the young rookie digimon's back extended into view stretching to the ground before they stretched upward for the sky.
Though both Mandrake and Lothar were aware of the spider legs on Circe's back the pair had never seen her extend them in such a manner. Apparently this behavior was instinctive as it seemed Circe casually did this without seemingly much thought behind it. Then when Luke said they next were going to touch their toes Circe nodded before bending done with arms and spider legs extended towards the toe end of her boots.
"Seems our little girl has a talent we weren't aware of." Lothar said not taking his eyes off Circe and Luke.
"It seems so indeed, old friend. Who knows what other talents young Circe may exhibit as she grows older." Mandrake said casually to his husband as he smiled. Lothar glanced at Mandrake noticing the wily magician's normally concealed by cape smile had reached up to the Wizardmon's sapphire eyes. Lothar smiled before looking back at Circe and Luke.
