Buraimon had seen the lights of Terminus City glowing on the horizon for at least 3 days before he reached the metropolis. On the first night he had been curious about the strange glow in the horizon when he made camp on the Network Plains. The scent of his food had drawn the attention of local peasant digimon, but this was no problem, he shared his food in exchange for information. That was the glow of the biggest city in the digital world, home to over a million digimon. Buraimon didn’t think such a civilization was possible, but he was determined to find out. The second night was similar, with the city’s glow even brighter, and once again the peasants were drawn to his campfire, but closer to this fabled city, they spoke in more familiar terms of Terminus. In fact several of them told him that if he wanted to get there quickly he could catch a Trailmon and be there within hours, but this was a journey that he was determined to make on foot. On the third day of travelling, Buraimon finally saw the silhouettes of the skyscrapers in the distance. Yes indeed, this was a city. But it took him the whole day to finally reach its outskirts. Here he made camp in the outer suburbs. In that night of rest, he was disturbed once and only once, by city urchins seemingly looking to take advantage of him in his sleep and commit thievery, but Buraimon was quick to draw his swords against them. He let them flee rather than destroy them, given that he supposed that they meant no malice, just opportunists seeking out a target. Then on the fourth day, he continued toward the heart of the city, in awe of the structures about him. The closest to this that Buraimon had seen was the capital city of the DWR, and even then, this city was so many times more advanced and magnificent. He reached the city centre at sunset on the fourth day, and at once felt his senses be overwhelmed. The lights were so powerful that they almost felt like daylight. His hearing was filled with the sounds of speech, vehicles and even some music. His sense of smell was filled with various vendor-carts cooking their street food. “Truly incredible…” he muttered to himself, surveying his surroundings. He felt a little lost until he felt something pulling at his kimono from about his waist height. “Oi, sorry, mister, just wondering if you’re standing in line?” a feminine voice asked. Buraimon turned to see a Gazimon with green eyes and long bangs of fur covering one side of her face. Buraimon blinked for a moment, then realized what she was asking. “Ah, my apologies, I seem to have got lost in my thoughts. No, I’m not in the queue.” he answered her, and stepped aside so she could take her place in whatever queue was there. She took a step forward, hesitated, then turned to him again. “So, I gather you’re new here?” she asked. Buraimon blinked, then gave her a wary look. Who was she to ask such a question? Eventually, he supposed that honesty was the best currency so decided to pay it. “Indeed I am, admittedly I have never seen a city like this before.” he answered. “Even when the sun sets, the lights are so bright that it still looks like it’s day.” “Ahh, country digimon visiting the city, eh? I get it.” the Gazimon said, a smile crossing her face. “How about you stay with me in line and I’ll shout you some dinner? This vendor makes some excellent kebabs.”Buraimon was taken aback by this offer. He narrowed his eyes with suspicion. “Why would you offer me this?” he asked. “You haven’t even introduced yourself yet.”The Gazimon gave a small sigh of frustration, but thankfully not at him, more at herself. “Right, right, sorry, we’re still strangers. Okay. I’ll be polite and introduce myself. My name’s Gaz. I’m a local Journalist. And since you seem like an interesting digimon, I’d be glad to offer to buy you dinner in exchange for you telling me your story.”Ah, so it was an exchange of information. Buraimon lowered his guard, this seemed innocent enough, but he wanted to know more first. “I see. My name is simply 'Buraimon'. What do you mean that you’re a ‘Journalist’?”“Well, it’s my job to gather news from sources and tell it to others.” Gaz explained. “How it works is that you tell me things you’ve witnessed, I write it down, and if my editor boss isn’t deciding to be an asshole then it’ll be put in the press and read by thousands of digimon that live here.”Buraimon thought that sounded like a good opportunity. If this ‘Gaz’ wanted his stories and was willing to help him in exchange, then that would be fair in his view. “Alright, I agree to this.” he said. “On condition that you show me around this city first. On my first step into it I was almost accosted by thieves, and I would very much prefer misfortunes like that not occur in future.”“Ahh, I get it, you need a guide.” Gaz said, her smile being maintained. “Alrighty, that’s a deal.”It seemed that in their conversation that they had advanced to the head of the queue. Now was the time to make their order. “Two kebabs, please.” Gaz said. “I’ll have poultry and my friend will have…” she turned to him, “What do you prefer? Poultry or Mutton? They’re those meats at the back there.” she pointed to large rotating meat cylinders at the back. “Poultry is the white-brown one, Mutton is the red-brown one.”“Mutton then.” Buraimon answered, thinking it looked more appetizing. Thankfully there was loud music being played nearby while they waited for their meals, and then once they were served they walked away. Buraimon found this ‘kebab’ meal quite delicious, pecking at the meat and vegetables alternately. “So then, where are we heading first, Gaz?” he asked. “Trailmon station, that’s the place you wanna be to get your bearings.” Gaz replied after swallowing a chunk of her meal. And thus they proceeded toward the station.

Terminus was a city that both Luneth the Hackmon and Arlo the Angoramon were quite familiar with. In Luneth's case, he would visit here often with his family or his partnered human friends, as Terminus was the biggest civilized settlement in the entire Digital World, so going there at least once was to be expected. In Arlo's case, however, he used to live in Terminus with his mate Renna, who had long since passed away. And with the Godmother Thetismon still after him, Arlo wasn't quite sure if coming to the city at all was a good idea. Luneth managed to convince him though, and the two were setting up the bakery close by to the Trailmon station. The night before, however, something strange happened while Luneth was asleep. Usually, he was unable to recognize that his dreams were that: merely dreams. And for some reason, he could always see himself like his vision was that of a third-person video game. But in this dream, he was seeing through someone else's eyes. He was looking around, and he could see various Digimon clapping for him, congratulating him on his official promotion to 2nd Lieutenant. 2nd Lieutenant...?
What surprised Luneth the most though was the voice that was coming out of "his" mouth. It wasn't his own... it was his mother's, Skye the Gatomon. The scene quickly shifted to that of a Panjyamon and an Angewomon, who were both proud of Skye's accomplishment, but the Angewomon seemed far more worried about Skye going off to war, with Skye assuring them that she'd be fine. Luneth realized he was looking through his mother's eyes, a past version of his mother, from back in the days of the Digital World Republic. The scene shifted once more. This time, a Digimon who looked a lot like Owen was telling Skye that Tactimon's making his move on the capital, and they were ordered to hold their position. "It's all gone to shit, Lieutenant," the Gaomon said, "be prepared for the worst."
Tactimon? Who's Tactimon?
And finally, he could see Skye fighting what appeared to be a samurai-like Digimon with a flowing blue cape. The fight didn't last long before he saw Tactimon deal the final blow, killing Skye and ending Luneth's dream. The Hackmon awoke with a loud scream, followed by loud panting as he tried to get his bearings back in order. He examined himself, letting out a sigh of relief when he realized he was still alive. He knew it was a dream, but it felt so real... "Luneth, are you okay?" Arlo's voice could be heard outside the bedroom door. "I heard you screaming."
"I-It was nothing, Arlo. Merely a nightmare. I'll join you in a moment after I freshen up."
Luneth proceeded to clean himself up for the day, but he still couldn't get that dream of his out of his mind. He never saw any of those Digimon in his life, but he still felt as if he knew them, and as if he were there experiencing those horrifying things. He made a mental note to himself to call his mother sometime today... he needed answers for what had happened to him. And now that he was clean from his shower and his breath was minty fresh, he headed downstairs to help Arlo open up the bakery for business. When he got downstairs, he noticed that the Angoramon's face was entirely white. Luneth suppressed the need to chuckle, clearing his throat and asking, "What happened to you?"
"I was handling flour before you screamed," Arlo stated.
"Oops... sorry about that," Luneth said, a bashful smile forming as he scratched the back of his head.
As for their current location, Arlo was sure that they'd get far more business if they were close to the Trailmon station, as a bunch of Digimon and sometimes even humans came into and went out of Terminus every day. Luneth knew that the secondary reason was so that they could be near a huge crowd of Digimon all day so that Thetismon wouldn't try anything, so he didn't bother to argue against it.
"Fresh bread and delicious desserts, straight out of the oven!" Arlo advertised to the Digimon walking by... after he had managed to take the time to clean the flour off his face, of course. A large sign saying "Arlo's Traveling Bakery" could be seen on the top of the vehicle, loud and clear for anyone who was walking by to see.

Gaz’s attempt to win over Buraimon’s friendship with a gift of food didn’t turn out so well. As they walked down the street, while she happily chomped at her kebab, he barely pecked at his, looking awkward all the while. It didn’t take long for her to realize that he probably didn’t like it. “Not your thing, huh?” she asked after she couldn’t take any further uncomfortable silence. “I’m sorry, I know I should be grateful for free food, but, honestly this is almost inedible for me.” Buraimon said, quickly enough for Gaz to realize that it was probably something of a relief of him to be able to admit it. “The onions are really a bit much for me, I’ve never really been fond of them. I’m sorry, I’m happy to pay you back for it…” “Nah, it’s fine, just give it here.” Gaz said, offering her paw. “My brother’s a chef, I’ll just give it to him and he’ll sort it out. Even if it’s cold, it’s still fresh, so he can use most of it as ingredients for somethin’, dude’s a wizard in the kitchen, and a wizard in general, hehe, though gets a bit grumpy if you patronize him.”“Oh, you have a brother?” Buraimon asked, curiously, giving her his relatively unfinished kebab. “Yeah, two actually. A big one that’s a Guilmon-X, he’s Finn, but he hangs out elsewhere these days. And Max is the little one, he’s an Impmon-X, and also the chef of the family, like our dad.” she couldn’t stop her face falling after remembering their father Coronamon, still missing after all this time. At the very least, Buraimon seemed to have a social acumen, since he promptly changed the subject. “Well, there’s another vendor over there, fresh bread and desserts apparently. Shall we try them out?” he asked. “Something sweet or savoury should be good to counter the onions. And I do hope I can still pay you back somehow.”“Ah, sure. Also don’t worry about payin’, I still got you covered.” Gaz said, and the Gazimon and Buraimon approached the vendor. Gaz regularly visited Rosewood, given that her brothers Finn and Max as well as friends Rory and Bezil often travelled there, so it wasn’t long before she recognized the Angoramon baker there. “Ahh, well well, fancy seeing you here, Arlo.” she said with a smile, finishing off the last of her own kebab and wrapped Buraimon’s back up in its foil packet, putting it in her handbag when she was sure none of the juice would leak out. “Since you’re here, I take it Rory’s brother Luneth is here as well?”Gaz smiled back up at Buraimon, glad to have a distraction of talking too much about her own family. “As you probably have guessed, I’ve got a connection or few around the place.”“Well of course, you’re a journalist, those are things you need…” Buraimon said, feeling slightly awkward being among all these digimon that apparently knew each other, but he did appreciate that they all seemed to just be content in going about their own lives, being friendly and casual, not all uptight and cautious as they were in the society he was used to. He turned to look up at Arlo. “Hello. Is there anything you could recommend in particular? I haven’t eaten much today and could do with something savoury or sweet.”Gaz internally cursed herself, of course she should have asked Buraimon what he would have liked before offering him free food. If that food was something he didn’t like, of course it would make things awkward. Man, she should get better at this.

Business was fairly steady for the first half hour of the day. Only a few Digimon had shown up to purchase something, but they still paid well and left with a smile. Arlo was handling the front counter while Luneth did other tasks in the back, such as prepping for more baked goods to be... well, baked. Arlo was resting his head on his right hand, doing some Digimon watching when a familiar friend and an unfamiliar acquaintance had shown up.
"Ah, hello, Gaz. How are you doing today?" Arlo asked with a smile of his own. Gaz asked if Luneth was also here as well. "Luneth? Yes, he's doing some prep work in the kitchen. Let me call him, he'd be happy to see you." The Angoramon turned his head back to the kitchen and called out for his Hackmon friend. "Luneth, can you come out here please?"
BANG! BANG! CRAAAASH!
The sound of multiple metal pans hitting the floor could be heard from outside the kitchen. It was exactly as it sounded; Luneth was carrying a whole bunch of metal pans and he dropped them in surprise when he heard his name being called. Arlo sweatdropped in response, and a few moments later, a Hackmon with blue eyes walked out of the kitchen and up to the front counter next to Arlo.
"My apologies, it's hard carrying things with these claws," Luneth said. His attention shifted onto a familiar face, Gaz the Gazimon. "Gaz, hello! What a surprise it is to see you here today. And who is this with you-?"
Something in Luneth's digicore skipped a beat when he locked eyes with the bird samurai Digimon. Luneth didn't quite understand what this feeling was... he felt like he knew this Buraimon from somewhere before, but to his knowledge he'd never met a Buraimon in his life. Something about this particular one was making Luneth's stomach crawl, activating his fight or flight reflexes. To an outside observer, it looked as if Luneth was trying to stop himself from hiccuping in front of his friends, as he was making quite an odd face.
Buraimon then spoke to Arlo. He explained he hadn't eaten much that day and was looking for a recommendation, something either savory or sweet. "I picked up on that first thing you said," Arlo explained, his ears twitching a bit. "I could hear your stomach growl with my enhanced hearing. If you wish for something sweet, I am quite proud of today's batch of extra-fluffy pancakes."
Arlo gestured to the pancakes on display in the front counter's glass shelving. They were very fluffy and souffle-like, almost soft enough to rest your head on like a pillow. They were also topped with powdered sugar, whipped cream, raspberries, and blueberries.
"As for something savory, you cannot go wrong with a cheese scone or two. Perfect as a snack or a pairing with a nice soup. And that is not all we have, either. If neither of those tickle your fancy, feel free to browse for yourself. You're in no rush here."
