MPC Name: Bounty Hunters MPC Number: 113AReward Requested: Bits/Posts for Luna's character Svetlana Outside a small village near a forest Mandrake, Lothar, and their young daughter Circe were heading for the forest. They had excepted work in the form of bringing in a bounty. Granted this was something this family didn't make a regular habit of doing but this digimon was enough of an exception to the rule. Rumors were this digimon was agile and had the ability to glide easily through open areas like that small town they got the job from. "Mandrake, are you sure it is wise to bring Circe with us? I mean she hasn't shown any evidence of digivolving as of yet and the villagers said this was a human sized dragon capable of gliding on the wind." Lothar asked the Leomon's tone of voice filled with concern as he looked at the small human like spider digimon practically clinging to Mandrake's cape. Lothar liked the kid but wished she wasn't so timid around others. At least little Circe had become comfortable with him and in recent months been calling him dad so maybe one day the traumatized little one would be independent."Don't worry, old friend." Mandrake began glancing briefly at Circe before turning his gaze back to his husband, Then the Wizardmon with sapphire-colored eyes continued "Little Circe has a knack for climbing and if things get to hot so she can take shelter in the trees while we tend to the dragon the villagers mentioned." Lothar looked a bit more relaxed at Mandrake's words and smiled before the trio continued on their way. Mandrake had a rough idea what they could be dealing with, but he was ready just in case his instinct was off. As for Mandrake and Lothar they had no idea how odd this day would end up being.

She had been sitting within her room at the student dorm, playing upon her cello, practising her latest assignment in front of a simple web camera. The footage was being recorded, intended to be both a submission to her professors but also another video for her own YouTube channel. It was just one of those things she picked up years ago to serve both as a record of her progress but also a means to augment her income just a little bit.
Yet! The entire world changed around her, the camera unleashed a painfully white light that seared into Svetlana’s eyes. She was forced to clamp her eyes shut, dropping the bow of her cello as the instrument slipped from her grip. Then, a sudden sense of weightlessness gripped her, a gust of wind assaulting her. She opened her eyes and saw a clear blue sky surrounding her as well as the ground below, rapidly approaching.
She was falling and could do nothing about it. The earth was swiftly approaching, the threat of crushing death weighing down upon her. Oh dear. Was this truly how it was going to end for her? Falling through the sky, watching her cello and its bow string tumbling down with her. However…she felt surprisingly relaxed. She hummed a simple tune to herself, closing her eyes, disappointed that her journey was going to end oh so very soon but…satisfied.
“Say…could someone catch me please?” And yet, despite her apparent willingness to face her own death, that was not the same as desiring it to happen. It was why she called out for help, her lungs filling with oxygen as she shouted as loud as she possibly could. Hopefully someone could catch her or put a trampoline down or something, anything, to save her life!

It seemed things would get stranger as soon the mental signature of someone unfamiliar to Mandrake and his family would soon come to be but not right in front of them. Oh no the stranger was coming from the sky. Mandrake looked up causing Lothar to as well as said sapphire eyed Wizardmon then said "Oh dear. A human coming from the sky is certainly something one doesn't see every day even here in the Digital World where weird seems to be normal."
The young woman seemed to also have a cello with her but that was not important as Lothar's ears twitched before the super strong Leomon said "Mandrake, we must do something. That young woman is calling for help."
"Agreed, old friend. I'll just armor digivolve into Thunderbirdmon and..." Mandrake started only for his thoughts to be interrupted by the sight of young Circe waving one of her hands magic dancing off the child's fingers before magical spider silk shot forth clinging to various nearby trees creating something soft for the human to land on. Mandrake and Lothar were surprised that the little one did this all without coming out completely from behind Mandrake and still clinging to him with her other hand. "Never mind it seems our little one wanted to help. Good work, Circe." Mandrake said as he looked up at the spider silk waiting for the young woman to land upon it.

Her descent came to a sudden stop. She bounced and wobbled against the sticky substance but she was still alive? How? Should a sudden stop upon the earth not spell her death? Indeed, it should have but it was not the ground she had landed on. Both the Russian and her delicate Cello found themselves stuck in a web. An utterly gigantic web, far far larger than a web made by any single spider on Planet Earth could possibly be. Did this mean there was a gigantic spider around that wanted to eat her? Perhaps!
“Hello? I can hear you speaking below me but I am unable to meet your eyes. This web is rather….adhesive. Could you get me down please? Before the owner of this web decides to arrive…” Svetlana knew little about the hunting behaviour of arachnids but logic dictated that movement and vibrations would only attract the attention of the web’s owner so she did not move. She stayed completely and utterly still, holding her breath in strained lungs. It did not help how, like before, she spoke in Russian.
However, despite desiring to keep her body perfectly still she did at least turn her gaze towards her cello. It was perfectly intact, both it and the bow. That was a great relief given the circumstances. It was a gift her parents had bought her almost a decade ago now, a celebratory thing to congratulate her for passing an exam. As such, its sentimental value could not be understated.

The young woman came down landing safely on Circe's web and so did the cello with her. Looking up the trick was now assisting her in getting down. Mandrake thought for a moment before the woman began speaking in a language that he and Lothar didn't normally speak in. However, if digimon were known for anything it was their gift of language. Digimon seemed to be like universal translators learning new languages super-fast.
After listening it was clear that she was asking for help to get down before the owner of the web arrived. It was clear that she was unaware that little Circe was the one who created the web and didn't know that Circe was basically harmless to humans. "Hang on ma'am. We'll get you down." Mandrake said in Russian before looking towards Lothar.
As if catching on Lothar walked over towards a tree that had fallen over and with his great strength managed to break some of the thicker branches. Then he grabbed some nearby vines and after some effort made an impromptu ladder. Then Lothar carried the improvised ladder over to Circe's web setting it against it before he, also in Russian, said "Ma'am, climb down this and it will get you to the ground safely. Don't worry about the spider as she was just trying to help you."

She pulled herself free from the sticky web and sat up, reclaiming her cello before carefully making her way over towards the makeshift ladder, looking down at both the very strange collection of creatures below and the ground. A giant lion man, a cosplay that looked like a wizard from a video game and what seemed to be a small child with pale skin. How interesting. How strange. How utterly out of the ordinary. Perhaps this was a dream?
While the ladder was appreciated she did have one sliiiight issue: How to get her cello down. Her case had not fallen with her and so, she would again be forced to rely on the generosity of these strangers in this strange land. She cleared her throat and began to speak, holding the cello and its bow string over the webbing’s edge. She was still wobbly on her feet though, struggling to retain her balance on the silk below.
Would you be willing to catch these for me? And please, be extremely careful with them.” Once given a confirmation that the Digimon trio would catch the instruments, she dropped them off the edge before taking the ladder down to the ground. She jumped the last few steps, shoes sending up a small cloud of dust. With a couple gestures of her hands, she dusted her clothing down before smiling towards the collection of Digimon.
“Thank you for assisting me…I do hope I have not interrupted anything.” A polite and well rehearsed smile, albeit one devoid of any real sincerity or much of any emotion at that, decorated Svetlana’s lips as she spoke, albeit in her heavy Russian accent and the language of the motherland.

Mandrake and his family watched as the young woman made her way carefully towards the improvised ladder Lothar made and along the way grabbed her cello. Then Mandrake and Lothar noticed that she seemed to be having issues with getting down which was understandable seeing as she was carrying an instrument.
Then the young woman asked if one of them would be willing to catch her cello and bow and Mandrake said, "Ma'am I think that can be arranged and don't worry I have a talent that can help with this." When Mandrake offered confirmation, he would catch the cello and bow the young woman dropped them over the edge. Mandrake then focused on the cello and bow and by using his telekinesis gently lowered both to the ground so the woman could claim her things when she got down.
"You haven't interrupted much except unfortunately coming across us while we were tracking a bounty." Mandrake said. As for little Circe she shuffled behind Mandrake taking a tight hold on his cape. It was clear she was extremely timid of strangers.

Now that she was back on Terra Firma, or Terra wherever she was, Svetlana adjusted her clothing to straighten out any wrinkles while giving herself another quick dust down. All to ensure she had gotten rid of any dust or other unpleasant things stuck to her body. However, bringing her appearance back up to scratch was all well and good but she was still faced with the sliiiight issue of being a stranger in a strange land with equally strange lifeforms surrounding her. One of them was even a baby too!
“Thank you for your assistance.” The musician reclaimed her Cello and its bow, holding them as best she could in spite of the difficulty from not having its carry case around. Alas though, that was back in her room…or so she thought. It suddenly fell down from the sky, bounced off the web and landed next to her with a heavy thud. Convenient. Her brow still furrowed a little as she looked around, wondering where she was.
“A bounty?” She bent down over her case, opening it up, and going to store her Cello inside. However, she spotted a strange black and white device within. She tilted her head sideways but beyond finding it a curiosity, even if the D-tector would have had far more significance to the Digimon present, really did not think much of it. The device was simply stored away inside one of her shirt’s inside pockets as she put her cello into the case, wearing the case on her back as if it was a simple backpack.
“....I do not wish to impose on you but I have little clue where I am. I feel it is a wise assumption to make that you are familiar with this land? I wish to accompany you, until I find a way to return home.” She smiled in her classic reserved manner, waving at the little pale skinned child.
“I am Svetlana. It is my pleasure to make your acquaintance.” Hopefully her earnest request would be enough to win over these three.

When the currently unknown human was now safely back on the ground, Mandrake and his family watched as she began to straighten out her clothing clearly in an attempt to at least look presentable. This was definitely something Mandrake understood as he was usually fond of trying to look his best himself which was not surprising given that when he was in his holosuit he took on the appearance of a tall well-dressed man. Still even though he and Lothar were not using their holosuits Mandrake and Lothar were probably at least somewhat handsome by human standards being a Wizardmon and a Leomon.
When she picked up her bow after thanking them Mandrake's eyes lit up indicating he was likely smiling despite his mouth now being visible as he said "Think nothing of it, ma'am. Telekinesis seems to be a talent some members of my family have picked up."
The young woman seemed to be having some difficulty with carrying her cello and bow but before Lothar could so much as offer his assistance with carrying her things the sight of a cello case falling from the sky and bouncing off Circe's web before hitting the ground seemed to solve the problem. However poor timid Circe jumped with a soft squeak before tightening her grip on the back of Mandrake's cape causing Mandrake to turn and, in English, to the startled child softly say "Shh. It's alright, little one. It's just an instrument case. Nothing to be afraid of." Sure, Mandrake didn't know if the stranger spoke English or Japanese but those were the languages, he, Lothar, and their children spoke most often to one another and others.
"Yes. It seems some sort of gliding dragon has been causing nearby small villages trouble. So far no one has gotten hurt, but my family and I are trying to catch this dragon before things escalate to potentially others being harmed." Mandrake answered with a nod before briefly glancing back at Circe. It seemed that the young rookie digimon was starting to calm down, so he turned his attention back to Svetlana who had seemed to find a D-Tector of all things in her instrument case. This meant she was meant to be a spirit wielder but even Mandrake knew not all humans took such news so well even though this woman seemed fairly mellow taking the whole bounty thing fairly well.
After she put the D-Tector in one of her shirt pockets, put her cello and bow away, and placed the case on her back like a backpack she asked Mandrake not only if he was familiar with this land but if she could accompany them until she could find a way to return home. Mandrake then answered "Seeing as you tumbled from the sky landing in a world not your own it wouldn't be any trouble for you to accompany us until we find a way to get you home. As for knowing the land you are right to make such an assumption. See this world is called the Digital World and, though while humans do come here from time to time, this world is inhabited by beings of many different shapes and sizes called Digimon. The digimon are all known for having powers and some digimon are powerful while others not so much. Don't worry, ma'am, because while digimon can be a threat to humans most tend to either ignore or be friendly with the humans that visit this world."
When she waved at Circe the timid girl made an effort to try to vanish completely behind Mandrake. A difficult feat seeing as she was three foot three and Mandrake wasn't much taller at four feet tall. "A pleasure to meet you, Svetlana. I am Mandrake and the handsome eight-foot lion man with me is my husband Lothar. The little one behind me is our youngest child, Circe, and I'm afraid she has experienced some childhood traumas at the hands of her mother. She is a sweet girl though."
"Unfortunately, the circumstances of Circe's creation are complex and involved her mother kidnapping Mandrake draining some of his strength creating Circe's egg much later. I was able to save Mandrake before it was too late obviously. Then sometime later we found the child bruised hungry and abandoned by her own mother due to Circe turning out to be gentle just like Mandrake. I adopted her as my child soon after we took custody of her and as you can see, she is now healthy, but I wish she would open up to more people." Lothar said with a sigh as he looked in the direction of Mandrake where the child had hidden herself. Sure, Circe wasn't afraid of Lothar so that was a good thing.
Some distance away from the group said gliding dragon was gliding over the treetops. Soon the dragon would be where the group was but was a few minutes away.

It was all rather a lot to take in. The lion, the wizard in their big hat, the pale skinned child with telepathy, the gliding dragon, the fact this was seemingly an entirely different world all very much gave Svetlana pause. She blinked, staring blankly at the family of digital creatures before her, before letting out a soft sigh. I see. That’s what this was about. She was surely dreaming. No matter. Let’s play along with it. It was a surprisingly simple conclusion for her to reach and Svetlana took it all in a rather remarkable stride, not that all of her questions were answered mind you.
“The Digital World? I have questions…Many questions.” Surprisingly, one may have expected her first question to be how to get home but no. Svetlana was far far more interested in the very nature of this Digital World and those that inhabited it. Plus, she was going to go out on a limb here and assume that Mandrake’s mention of humans “coming here from time to time” was a sign that there was some way home. It was enough to lay her concerns to rest.
Still, Svetglana’s curiosity was aroused. Mandrake and Lothar being a couple? Raising a child between them? One had even called the other their husband. It was a…strangely human term for it and made Svetlana ponder. Ponder whether they were simply borrowing the name to try and explain the idea or if their relationship was something entirely foreign to a human experience. Not that Svetlana knew what married life was like. She really only had her observations of her parent’s relationship to go off.
“Namely, what are Di-” Then she was cut off, the sound of the gliding dragon’s roar cutting her off. Her gaze darted towards the skyline, staring at the form of the distant dragon as it glided around, altitude decreasing. It was seemingly coming down to land….near them? That was problematic. Svetlana was grateful she had encountered such helpful natives of this strange world but….she had an issue: How could she keep herself safe given the dragon?
“...That is a rather interesting story regarding Circe’s story but…with that dragon approaching, I trust you will not mind if I find somewhere….out of the way to hide? I am a musician, not Bulat the Brave….Would you like me to keep an eye on young Circe?” Regardless of what answer she was given, Svetlana would either retreat with Circe or without. She took up position within the trees nearby, taking cover behind a particular sturdy looking tree as the dragon grew ever closer.

When Svetlana said she had many questions Mandrake replied, "Having many questions is understandable seeing as this is your first trip to this world, Svetlana."
When she was about to ask what digimon were, Circe squeaked nervously her head jerking out from behind Mandrake and the spider child pointed skyward. Shortly after that the telepathic signature of the gliding dragon was close enough for both Mandrake and Circe to sense. However young Circe's Hyper Awareness alerted the youngster of danger before the telepathy she inherited from Mandrake kicked in.
"It is understandable that you would like to get out of the line of fire, and you are welcome to keep an eye on Circe..." Mandrake started but before he could finish that thought Circe had released her near-death grip on him and bolted for the nearest tree not far from Svetlana. Then the young one scurried rapidly up the tree so fast she would likely make anyone who called themselves Spiderman jealous. Seemingly within mere seconds she was hidden in the thick branches.
"Here comes our bounty." Lothar said looking up as the species the gliding dragon was became clear to the Wizardmon and Leomon couple.
Just now circling above the group readying to attack the dragon was blue and white with orange gliding membranes. Not to mention moving quite gracefully in the sky that the beast was practically appearing to be dancing in midair.
"This one may be tricky, old friend, because it seems we have to bring in a KausGammamon." Mandrake said the grip on his staff tightening. Narrowing his sapphire blue eyes Mandrake readied himself. Lothar, as if catching on to what Mandrake had in mind, braced himself as well.

While Svetlana had been fully expecting to simply carry little Circe around, and keeping a rather close eye on them at the same time, but it very much seemed like the exact opposite was going to be the case. Little Circe bolted almost instantly, releasing her father and bolted for the nearest tree. Smart idea one thought and that one was Svetlana, watching as the spider made their way into the tree’s branches.
However, that did leave Svetlana with a problem. A rather small problem really: she could not climb into a tree and seeing the draconic Digimon approach was enough to make her believe that hiding behind the tree was simply not a feasible idea. Her gaze darted around, scanning for something or somewhere safer to hide. There were a few options but none of them were ideal.
There was the tree she was already behind of course but that was very exposed. There was a different tree a little while away, one with a deep exposed thicket of roots that provided significantly more cover from vision yet….it was still a tree and trees were rather flammable. In fact, was that even true in the Digital World? For that matter, did Dragon Digimon even breathe fire? So many questions, so few answers.
The final option for a hiding place was a bunch of rocks, lopsided and loosely thrown together. Significantly less flammable for sure. Yes. It was a much safer bet. Let us just hope that there were no insects, venomous or otherwise. God knows how effective human medicine would be vs insect bites from an entirely different world.
“Little Circe. Please, come with me. We will be safer amid the rocks” Svetlana broke out into a sprint, clearing the distance between the hiding place behind the tree and the cluster of rocks. She wedged herself into them, wiggling into the gaps between them, before turning her eyes back to Circe’s tree. Hopefully they would have agreed with Svetlana’s suggestion and hidden among the dark embrace of the rocks.

From the top of the tree Circe looked down at Svetlana and it was obvious she couldn't just scurry up the tree and was trying to find more suitable cover on the ground. However, when Svetlana said that they'd be safer among the rocks the little spider digimon looked at Svetlana with look of nervousness. It was very clear the young one wasn't too certain about taking shelter with someone she didn't know but knew she would be safe with her parents fighting KausGammamon. Besides if Svetlana tried to harm her, she could always just run deeper into the woods.
Slowly but surely Circe made her way down the tree heading towards the rocks with Svetlana. She hoped her parents would deal with the gliding menace of KausGammamon soon because she didn't know how long she could handle hiding with Svetlana.
Meanwhile from the sky KausGammamon made a surprisingly reckless dive for Mandrake and Lothar. Lothar nodded at Mandrake who nodded in return. Then Lothar did something KausGammamon definitely wasn't expecting as he grabbed a fairly thick log off the ground as if it were a feather before jamming it in the dragon's open maw.
"Looks like the brute learned the hard way not to swoop in on another digimon with their mouth wide open." Mandrake said as the KausGammamon wrenched the log out of their jaws while roaring in fury. As Kaus made several passes, Mandrake said "Though I have been wrong before."

Little Circe’s nervousness was to be expected. They were still a child, one that seemingly loved to cling to their parent’s backs for safety, and Svetlana was a complete and utter stranger. It was good for them to be wary around strangers, for the world was rather dangerous at the best of times. However, even though it took a bit of time, Little Circe did muster up the confidence to clamber down from their hiding spot and scamper over to the rocks as fast as their little legs could carry them.
Svetlana would welcome them as best as she could but given the fact she was wedged into a collection of wet moss covered rocks, all she could really do was pat her lap and offering it to Little Circe. It was drier and a lot warmer than the wet ground for sure. Svetlana wished she had some sort of blanket or throw she could wrap around the child. She may not know much about caring for children, or even Digimon children at that, but keeping them warm had to be a good thing, yes?
“Worry not little Circe. I’m sure your parents can handle it. They’re strong, da? Tell me, do you like music?” Her smile was technically rather warm and welcoming, soft and gentle, yet behind those eyes was a profound void of sincerity, almost as if her gestures and behaviours were simply a set of extremely well rehearsed acts she was simply carrying out. Still, what was wrong with something being fake?
Svetlana’s ears perked up at the sound of the dragon roaring, a beastial cry that threatened to shatter the skies with its fury, loud enough to compel Svetlana to wince in pain and yet…..it was a sound unlike any she had ever heard before. It tickled her fancy, it awoke her artistic sensibilities, it spawned her creativity and suddenly realisation struck. This was an entirely new world full of entirely new things, new creatures and new sounds. Yes….such a vast repertoire would add much to her compositions.

Out of the corner of one of Mandrake's eyes he not only spotted Circe climbing down the tree she had taken shelter in heading for the moss-covered rocks. With her spider like grace, she made it behind the rocks without slipping only to sit down next to Svetlana looking at her oddly while using her right arm to nervously rub her left arm. Sure, she herself didn't speak much but when asked if she liked music Circe nodded at Svetlana indicating she indeed liked music.
Meanwhile KausGammamon swooped once again locking their eyes on Mandrake and that was just what the clever Wizardmon was waiting for as the dragon roared as they dove towards the cunning magician as Mandrake lifted his staff into the air while twirling it as he said, "Magical Game," Before Kaus' eyes large boulders appeared and Mandrake and Lothar seemed to move a few feet away.
Circe, while peeking out from behind the rocks, noticed that her web was nowhere in sight. It seemed Mandrake used his gift of illusion to make her web no longer visible but why she wondered. That was until Kaus made a dive for the illusion of Mandrake and Lothar. However, Kaus soon found themselves tangled in Circe's spider webs but since Circe was merely a rookie the web didn't last long. Yet unknown to Kaus Lothar had snuck up behind them while they were trying to free themselves from Circe's web and when they did Lothar took advantage of his savage strength using it to strike KausGammamon in the back of the neck knocking the fierce dragon out in one blow. Then after picking Kaus up and slinging them over his shoulder Lothar nodded at Mandrake before taking off with KausGammamon. Mandrake knew that Lothar would be back soon after delivering Kaus to the nearest villages' authorities.
