From the vortex, a giant humanoid dragon, clad in a black and violet armor emerged from it. <Death-X-DORUgoramon; Level: Mega; Type: Undead; Attribute: Virus; Families: Dark Area, Nightmare Soldiers>.
A mega, of all things. And on his hand sat... Yuuki, or better said, dark-Yuuki. Mana covered her face with her hands when she saw the boy's scars and mechanical arm. She felt sad for him, as he was this way most likely due to betrayal he had suffered, and for a second emphatized with him, at least until she saw both yuuki and dorumon laying unconscious on the floor. She knelt in that instant to check if they were alright, but the undead digimon roared, paralyzing everyone on the spot. A feeling of sheer terror invaded Mana's body as she thought how, if the digimon wanted, could just tear them to pieces on that very same instant, but she overcame it almost instantly. She had already said it; if she had to pay the ultimate price just to help Yuuki, she had already decided to do it without hesitating, and no artifically-induced fear could stop that. After all, he was Karin's special someone, and more importantly, he was one of her good friends.
Dark-Yuuki spoke of the trial they had ahead of them, the trial of doubt. If this was as anything alike the trial that dark-Ryouta had given them, it'd prove to be hard, yet, as she and Ayaka exchanged looks, they were both totally sure that they'd see this through the end. She felt frustrated as DexDorugoramon took flight with Dorumon, but there was nothing that could be done on that situation, she they had to salvage the most their current predicament first.
She started to hoist the unconscious boy by his shoulder "I-I'm sorry, Yuuki. They took Foxy-san and I couldn't... do anything about it" she said as some tears started to descend her cheeks. Even if she had to remain strong, this was just too hard to bear. Dragging him with some effort before getting close to the hitodama. Dark-Yuuki had said that this was their cue to the trial, so... she tried to touch it, with Acerimon following suit if something happened.
If nothing important enough happened, she would drag Yuuki as they ascended through MetalGreymon X's shoulder. "Let's go, Tatsuya-san" she simply said as she waited for MetalGreymon to began his chase.

Out of all sudden, the black vortex dismissed, revealing a DexDoruGoramon and someone on its hand. Wait. Did that someone look like Yuuki? Ankh look puzzled, but then he smirked in sick pleasant as he finally found who made this strange place.
"So, you're the one who made this mess, huh? I'll-"
Just before Ankh could even finish, the dragon Digimon suddenly let out a savage roar along with red aura, spreading to the group. Suddenly, Ankh felt his body heavy and stopped moving. What was worse, he could feel a fear into his mind. This fear was nothing, compared to the pain he had endured since he was born as experimental mon-made Digimon and when his adoptive family had killed. A pain for being weak.
"DON'T FUCK WITH MEEEEE!!!!" Ankh roared in vigor as he snapped out of his fear. He wasn't afraid of anything, as long as he believed in himself that he could be stronger than everyone else. In order to gain greater power. Nothing could stop him from attaining it. To dominate, to subjugate, and to take back everything he held dear from the ones stealing them.
"Follow him! Maybe he can lead us to the wayout!" Ankh told the rest of group just after DexDorugoramon brought Yuuki and Dorumon. He then touched one of the will-o-wisp as the first phase of the trial. If anything wouldn't happen to him, the birdman would fly to chase the undead dragon.
"I'll get stronger, no matter what it takes...!"

Touching the Hitodama seems brings nothing other than it seem dissipates all the coldness the group is feeling. However, should they tried to chase the DeX Digimon through flying, it'll prove very useless as there's invincible unseen barrier that stopped the group from advancing through the air. Should they try to demolish anything, they'll find that it's still useless. The situation getting worse in where if they stayed in darkness too long, it's as if their feet become heavy, and once again coldness assaulted them. The closer they are to the flame without approaching the light, the stronger it'll feel.
Yuuki still haven't gotten conscious yet, but it's clear that the boy might need more than just several minutes to goes back conscious. His body getting colder, as if the boy himself is a timer for them to go to the next area. They must be quick, otherwise, something ugly might happened.
If they goes at least five hitodama ahead, they'll notice that Yuuki is getting better each step forward, but if they keep stalling time, then the boy will be encased in cocoon of ice, and he will be knocked out until the second trial. Now, with the time pressing them to haste, what will they do?

MetalGreymon X didn't wait for the others, since Mana and Ayaka were busy touching the strange will-o-wisp that had appeared after the Dark Yuuki left the area. It might have something to do with the trial, but it was also clear that the fastest way to end that would be beating that DexDorugoramon... which they weren't sure they'd be able to. Still, they couldn't abandon Dorumon... not like that!
-Let's go! -Tatsuya shouted, his partner roaring as they took off with incredible speed. However... it didn't work. Obviously, the dar twin had planned that all along, because when they were twenty metres up in the air, they crashed onto something similar to a barrier that knocked the dragon backwards, making him back off slightly. -What is that thing!? -the Tamer asked out loud. By all answers, MetalGreymon let him on the ground once more, and looked up.
-I don't know... but I'm not going to let him escape so easily! Not with Dorumon! -the Ultimate said, charging onto the barrier once more, this time spinning in order to initiate one of his most fearsome moves. -Horn Drill Ω!! -it said, clashing with the strange, transparent wall that impeded their movement outside that small space. Despite him pouring all of his strength onto it, the barrier took everything he threw at it, knocking him back afterwards as if it had returned all of his power.
The Digimon was then launched to the ground, where it landed, painfully, with a groan. His Tamer rushed to his side. -Are you okay?! -the human questioned, worried. However, it wasn't MetalGreymon's body what was hurt... -Shit! He took Dorumon, and now, we're stuck in here! -it growled. -I know how you feel... but for now, let's focus on these... things. It seems that something happens when we touch them... -the male said, trying it.
As he approached the spectral flare, he felt his body getting warmer. It was then when he saw Yuuki's unconscious body began shivering, obviously getting cold. -Everyone! If these things can block the cold, we should put Yuuki next to one of them, and if we can somehow move them, bring them together with us! -Tatsuya said, trying to solve that problem.

MetalGreymon had parted without them, so Mana kept experimenting with the Hidotamas. Apparently, they formed a sort of path, and that path went somewhere... She began connecting dots, until she thought she had an idea. But she had to apply it fast, for Yuuki was getting colder at each second that passed.
"Ayaka, help me a bit with this. Yuuki's too weak to walk, so I'll have to carry him" Ayaka nodded, helping her by taking both Mana's and Yuuki's backpacks and then grabbed Yuuki by his waist, gently placing him on Mana's back and accomodating him on a piggyback position.
Mana grunted at the added weight on her back, but she was somewhat surprised that Yuuki wasn't as heavy as he seemed to be. And so, while MetalGreymon X tried to break through the wall yet again, she began walking the Hidotama path with Ayaka walking ahead of her, in the case that there were something ahead of them.
She went through the flames as she reached them, and once she had covered a good distance, she felt that Yuuki started to get better. She smiled at him as she she kept walking with the boy on her back. "Just a little more, Yuuki" she said with determination "You and Foxy-san will be reunited soon enough, I promise. Just have a little faith in me...".

Ankh flew up, only for him to clash with an invisible barrier of the sky. After getting bounced from the barrier, Ankh grunted in anger and annoyance, to the point his anger heated up to the boiling point. He wanted to break that damn barrier, with everything he got.
"I SAID DON'T FUCK WITH MEEEEE!!!" Ankh roared as he tried to crush the barrier with every methods. From using his flaming fist and kicks, and even Shadow Wings. None of them worked. Ankh panted, and he was angered even more. His patience was leaked out, as well as his strength, thanks to that DexDorugoramon. His body became colder, somehow. "ENOUGH!" Ankh yelled before he noticed something. The will-o-wisps. They formed some kind of path. That little brat went to take the will-o-wisps to warm up his unconscious friend. Ankh figured that it could be a good idea to get them out of this crap.
"These flames... Could it be..." Ankh muttered as he touched the hitodama. He felt warmer. Ankh then came up a good idea. "Follow the blue fireball path, take all the blue fireballs and bring them to that knocked out brat! And you guys get close to him! Stay together and don't split up!" Ankh told the group.

However, nothing seem can carry that Hitodama. It just stayed there on spot, burning without any care about the problem the group is facing. However, at Mana's words, a small golden glow faintly seen coming from the unconscious boy's sternum. The crest of faith... the boy is still clinging on the hope and belief that his partner is fine and that he can trust in his friends. His breath getting more stable and his body temperature rising slowly back to normal.
"...Dorumon..." he whispered, as if calling out for his partner. Yet, it's apparent that he's not going to wake up this instant. Ahead on the seventh hitodama stood a masked figure made from darkness. The figure nodded as the group approaches. Slowly, the area behind him lit and there's two bridges, each seem leading to different path. Either of those, they're made of wood.
Welcome, friends of the child of faith. This is the first trial for you. None of the trials we hosts requires you to fight, but as you can see, it requires thinking. In this trial, you may not fly nor jump over bridges... And here's the story for this trial... Let's say, there's a traveler from the other side... he's heading to a specific village... and then, like you do, he found two bridges... from each end... appear different villagers, each dressed very well. However, one of them came from [The Oni Village], which is full of curses, diseases and poverty. As each of the villager very interested in the traveler, they tried to coax him to come with them to their respective village. However, the thing is... both of them carries with them a special seal that will make the traveler unable to leave if they have decided their destination.
Now, like I said, you'll have to pick between two routes... you can ask me anything, but you cannot expect me to tell the truth. With the bridge made of wood, two of your friends may not pass, and they may only will come with you once you entered the village. However, they may communicate with you through this screen...
As he said that, a gigantic screen appeared, showing Tatsuya, Mana and Ayaka with unconscious Yuuki.
They can see you, but you can't see them, you only can hear them while they can hear you and talk to you. Now, shall we begin the first trial of doubt?

Tatsuya smiled when Mana's innocence and good heart made the passing of the first trial feel like a breeze. Soon afterwards, they would found themselves questioned by a mysterious voice again. To be honest, the teen was growing awfully tired of them just recieving commands that seemed to take them nowhere, because they were cryptic as hell, full of metaphors and similar things.
It was then when the second trial was presented by the unknown will. Apparently it had something to do with a traveler that could cross two bridges, each heading for a different village. Only one of them was rich, while the other was full of curses, diseases, and in general, all the elements nobody would want in their daily life. However, there was a catch... both of the representants of the two villages were dressed in good clothes, making impossible to tell the difference.
-Now, like I said, you'll have to pick between two routes... you can ask me anything, but you cannot expect me to tell the truth. With the bridge made of wood, two of your friends may not pass, and they may only will come with you once you entered the village. However, they may communicate with you through this screen...
It was then when something clicked in Tatsuya's mind. -Hey voicemail, I've got a question for you... You've just said that they share great interest in the traveler, despite one of them living in misery and the other one in luxury. Now, let's figure something out, shall we?
First, if the first village is so poor and so bad, why would anybody want a traveler to go and live with them? That would only mean sharing the resources and thus making life even worse. For the rich village, it goes the other way around. People that are used to live and get everything they want won't usually like anyone coming along and join the party, because it could potentially result in them losing a part of their wealth in the newcomer's favour.
So tell me this... why do they even want a complete unknown to live in their villages? To me, this just seems like a trick to get us separated.
After you answer that, I've got another question ready... what happens if I don't like your way of making me choose, and I decide not to cross any of them? What would that result in? But of course, if you are interested in us separating, I'm sure the answer won't be pretty -he said, his Crest of Determination, completely opposite to doubt, shining on the left side of his chest faintly.
-However, I can't help but to feel that you'll lose if you can't make all of us doubt, right? -if that wasn't true, he was going to have it rough with Tatsuya.

Mana kept walking through the hitodama path until they found a hooded figure before two bridges. He gave a really cryptic speech that Mana listened attentively. As he ended, she could only ask him.
"Uh, I only got one question, Hood-san. Which bridge goes through the best path to help Yuuki?". He had said what one Village was, but he had kept rather silent about the other one, and that could mean two things: it was just a normal village or it was way worse than [The Oni Village], so, as the hooded answered her question, Mana went exactly that way. It had said that they had no reason to trust in him, but that same thing applied to every other person at every time; unless you were a lie detector or something like that, you didn't know if the person you were talking to was lying or not. And it also applied to Yuuki the first time he had met her; he had no reason to trust in her, yet he chosen to trust a complete stranger. Not fully, but at least it had been a beginning.
You chosed to believe in them because you had faith in them, right? So, this time, she had chosen to have faith in whoever was testing them. "See you all on the other side!" she said as she started to walk through the answer-bridge with Ayaka in tow "If we're in troubles, we'll call you through that screen thingy!".

As he hovered through the seventh hitodama, A hooded cloak appeared, giving the group yet another cryptic message, again. Ankh was irritated, and he was very, very angry after all the stuffs he had got. He would like to lash at everyone who was trying to mess with him.
"For fuck's sake... How long you're gonna play us around, huh?!" Ankh retorted at the hooded figure.
Now, like I said, you'll have to pick between two routes... you can ask me anything, but you cannot expect me to tell the truth. With the bridge made of wood, two of your friends may not pass, and they may only will come with you once you entered the village. However, they may communicate with you through this screen...
"Well, whatever. I don't care what you say, but at least, I can go to wherever I want. Besides, that boy has a point. Why do people with power wanted to share it with unknown stranger? And the people from Oni Village thing... they're representation of the weaklings, right? They want power from us, and some of us may not like it. However, if you say it's just making us doubt then screw whatever you say!" Ankh snapped at the hooded figure.
He then saw Mana walking through the bridge with Ayaka in tow. Maybe he could follow them? No. He must remain at the place until Mana confirmed something. He then watched the screen.
"Everyone, don't go just yet! Look at the screen carefully and keep in touch with that little brat! Regardless of what she meets in the village once she arrives, we should go after her!" Ankh instructed the group.

Lost, is it? the figure asked, amused. I'm nothing more than fragment which created for the sake of this test... winning or losing isn't a matter to me. Now, let's just get on to the point... first, the boy... Your question does have a weight in them... let's say like this... the one in Oni Village... the village is called that way because there's an oni there. Oni that will surely feast on you and bring prosperity to the village... Either you go there, or you get killed by the Oni or kill the Oni, you'll be freeing the village from his clutch... as for the second, assuming that it's truly a wealthy village, with power you possess, it's as if there are something else they wanted from you, right? You're not incorrect, but not correct either. The village does indeed want you to come, but at the same time, they're fine if you don't come. You'll be trespassing their territory either way, and until you solved their problem you will be unable to leave. Killing them ultimately seals you in that place.
The figure then stared at Yuuki on Mana's back. Somehow, it's almost like he's smiling... smiling cruelly.
If you refused to choose, obviously, the life of that boy will end sooner or later. Do you really want to do that? To kill someone that you considered friend? Eventually, you have to cross the path if you want to save him... If you're truly a friend, then you know what you should do... and like I said, it's fine to leave him here... he'll pass this trial alone, like how he's supposed to... and he'll learn the taste of being left alone to fend himself... Isn't that what generally lions do to their child? To toss them off the cliff to learn about the harsh world?
He then turned to Mana, who asked the naivest question of the three...
What if I decide to lie and give you the hardest route? What if I actually decide to make it harder and actually doesn't give you any ounce of truth? he asked. Can you discern between truths and lies? Just to make this more amusing, I'll decide to not point. Also, this is trial of doubt... faith is completely useless and will only hinder you. Like I said, you're alone, not together in this... You only can trust yourself... or maybe not, because obviously the boy trusting you so much?
The figure pointed at the Crest of Faith that glows with soft light on Yuuki's chest. He's still having faith in them all. He still have faith that everything will be alright.

Tatsuya growled loudly as the figure kept speaking in the same cryptical way that was driving him nuts since the trial had started. Slightly pissed by the fact that it was addressing them as if they would end up doing what they wanted to, the teen decided to stay silent until it had finished speaking, but there was something he wouldn't let slip by. -You'll be trespassing their territory either way, and until you solved their problem you will be unable to leave.
Tatsuya chuckled while quirking an eyebrow -What? It's their problem, not mine. I know that having an Oni isn't exactly any village's fantasy, but honestly, I'm just a passenger. Who is going to keep me there if I don't want to help? The only thing I'm willing to do is surpass this trial, get Dorumon back, and put Yuuki to safety. Everything else is secondary right now. So, I believe the purpose of all this is to make us doubt, right? -he paused his speech for a moment, watching Mana move with Yuuki's body, starting to cross the bridge.
-Well, looks like she has decided. C'mon, MetalGreymon. I'm sick and tired of this guy's bullshit, to say the least -the young man finished, following the thirteen-year-old's steps, who then asked another question to the robed figure, which just answered the question as he had expected. After another speech about doubt and faith, MetalGreymon X's eyes widened for an instant when he spoke a certain phrase. -Like I said, you're alone, not together in this... You only can trust yourself... or maybe not, because obviously the boy trusting you so much?
The Ultimate barked a sentence of his own at the robed figure. -Now, right now... we're not alone. We're trying to save Yuuki and Lightie, and just as Tatsuya said, everything else is secondary. So, an Oni could be awaiting? Fine with me. I'm not interested in whatever you have to say about faith and doubt -the dragon said, following his partner, Mana, and Ayaka.

So the guy didn't point. So much for a being that was supposed to answer their questions. So it could be any direction, anyway. One had a supposed 'Oni' while the other was the biggest question mark ever. This was just too confusing. It was supposed to be a test of doubt. So they had to doubt and thus, what if what the hoodguy had said was just false? ARGH!
"Okay, Hood-san, so even if we ask perfectly valid questions, you'll answer us whatever, so let me see... What's the Oni's weakness? Why the Oni's on the village? Can that be solved without fighting it? What's on the other village? It's better or worse than the Oni Village? What we have to really do to pass this trial? Because you've only said things about villages and not in what the trial consists per say. Can we pass the trial even if we choose the wrong path? Can you actually teleport us to the next trial? Would you do so?".
She sighed, still not sure about what path to take. She hated when people (or hood beings, in this case) were vague to her, but if he didn't respond her questions on a satisfying way, she didn't have time to lose or Yuuki would only get worse, so she would choose... the left path.

Looks like the hooded figure gave some vague speeches again. Ankh grew tired of hearing those warnings, until something from him caught his attention. The Oni Village, where Oni resides. Defeating one will release the village from its clutch. Guess it'd be very powerful. He hasn't battled any opponent for a while, so it'd be good test of his own strength.
"It's interesting. I'd see what lies on the Oni Village thing." Ankh said. "Speaking of which, where do you come from?"
Ankh didn't even bother to ask him to show them his way to his village, because the reason was obvious. The hooded man was anything but trustworthy. It wasn't like he could trust anybody in general, let alone someone to trust him. Yeah, he himself was untrustworthy one. He could manipulate others if he wanted, so...
"I'm tired of your fucking bullshit, really. So let us choose our path and don't bug us anymore, got that?!" Ankh snapped at the hooded man. "You know what? I don't care the crap you called faith, and I only have a faith on myself! That I can surpass your silly trial, and to get the greater power that you can't even comprehend!"
Ankh then went to catch up with Mana, Yuuki, and Ayaka along with Tatsuya and Notfoxy. So where they were about to go...? And furthermore, what was the feeling bugging in him, as his face blushed again? Don't tell... he was worried about Ayaka? "HANAHIME!" Ankh shouted at Ayaka, in affectionate matter.

So, afterall, you are the type of person that doesn't work in name of justice, but personal interest instead? the figure asked Tatsuya. Very interesting... I hope that the path ahead is something that you would find... satisfactory. And as for your question, fiery bird... where indeed, I wonder? All I know is I'm loyal to my master, and that my existence means is to make you all understand this trial... now that your path is set... the next trial is waiting... but aren't you forgetting something, friends of Child of Faith?
Unfortunately, when both MetalGreymon X and the Garudamon about to cross the bridge, a really strong barrier with high voltage electricity running on it barred their path. The figure chuckled. He had told them that they're actually not allowed to help until they really ends at the said village. Not helping, the other active three on the bridge would definitely repelled if they tried to go back. They only can move forward, without going back. The second trial has started.
However, a cold, merciless smile etched on the figure's face momentarily before he took off his mask, revealing himself to be a facet of Yuuki.
Now, let the second trial begin...
A very strong seal prevents both Ankh and Metalgreymon X from moving, it's as if they're crucified.
To move forward rashly would be the end of you... that's why... you who cared about your partner... and you who cared about the plant lady... would you dare to take damage for their sake? Every time they got into ordeal and harmed, would you dare to take their damage for them...?
Choose... to leave, or to stay?
