Mana giggled at the affection received; she just loved those gestures. Yet, Karin's story was a sad one; to be honest, such a sweet girl like her didn't deserve to be betrayed by her friends.
"Too sad" she muttered with sadness on her own tone "I'd have liked to be there for her, just as she had been there for me so many times. Such a good friend doesn't deserve to be betrayed. You know, I wish to meet that friend that betrayed her someday and ask her why she had been so cruel with her. And, you totally don't have to thank me for being her friend; you should actually thank Karin-nee for being mine. I was so sassy when we first met that I'm surprised that she still wanted to be my friend afterwards!".
She giggled both at her words and Ryouta's gestured again, almost as if she couldn't get enough of them. As the boy followed up with his routine by benchpressing. He asked about what they had found in the Dark Area, but before the girl could begin her tale, her sight instantly fixated itself on the boy's training, almost not getting the rest of Ryoyta's speech, only to go back to planet Earth when he said 'fanservice'.
"Uh, ah, right! Uh, Ayaka, do you want to answer? I-I'm currently busy".
The fairy sighed at Mana's gaze becoming only aware of Ryouta's training, but gave a small smile for a second before addressing the boy's questions.
"Do not worry, it's fine. Well, the Dark Area is a really weird place. You see, there are not any big cities like Terminus or Whitewater, but every now and then you see small digimon settlements. It is a truly lawless place, because if anybody wants something, they can chose to take it by force as if it were just another kind of currency. Unless you carry something really valuable at plain sight, I doubt that you will be attacked, though. Robberies are easier to be done to land digimon, and I have not seen nothing more powerful than a champion in open areas, so I guess that you and Dracomon-kun will be alright there" she made a small pause, shifting into the next topic
"About the thing we found, it was really weird; a really tall and healthy tree in the midst of the Dark Area. When I touched it, I had a flashback. It was something vague, but at least it was something. We were carrying some hazardous lugagge when we found it, so we could not stay there for too much time, but when we came back... the tree just was not there, and the signs of it being there in first place had all dissapeared, almost as if the tree had never existed... no uproot signs, no leaves in the ground. Nothing".

Ryouta laughed when Mana told Ayaka that she was busy. That kinda made him want to train harder. The boy brought down the heavy weight back to his chest before lifting it again. He really have huge urge to tease her right now, so that's exactly what he's going to do. He grinned and whistled at her.
"Busy looking at what part, Mana? Careful with the drool. As much as I love seeing you drooling at me, best to not wet that one shirt, too," he joked. "Oh, by the way, you can sit on my lap if you want. It might be nothing much, but if you want to watch closer... Also, I think I'll be more motivated if I can see my girlfriend's cute face," he teased, but that tease got certain iota of truth, that's for sure.
He stayed silent as he heard Ayaka's explanation. A tree... a healthy tree? That's very rare indeed... If what Mana said about Dark Area is true, then... that tree might be sign of her family? He's not sure, but after repeating his lift for fourty reps, Ryouta put down weight back to its place to take a bit rest and instead focusing on situps now.
"That's... huff... really odd... huff... I guess you can say that it's related to your family? Because there's no way such a tree could be in Dark Area... but if you said something like that it's suddenly gone, it's almost like either one, that tree is something like memory fragment or two, that tree belongs to one of your family and they wanted you to remember something..."
Ryouta eyed the egg with elaborate higanbana-like pattern.
"...Might be worth checking."

Mana was obviously startled at the whistling sound, quickly yelping and almost jumping out of the bed, at least until she was teased by Ryouta. After that she just blushed like a tomato. as she averted her gaze for a second, just to talk without being enthralled by the boy's workout.
"Y-your're the m-meanest person in the world, Ryo-kun!" she shot back, blushing even more intensely "The drooling thing only happened once, I swear!".
Being totally honest, she hadn't began to do that yet as she had been trying to find a way to not to drool while admiring her boyfriend. Her current unconscious method had been good, or at least she had thought so. Still without looking at him, she got up and sat in the boy's lap. She wasn't really angry, more like... embarassed.
While Ayaka silently nodded to the boy's reasoning about the ghost tree that produced flashbacks, Mana finally decided to turn around to see Ryouta's workout again.
"It'd be cool to meet Ayaka's okaa-san, don't you think? I wonder how she will react to me. Or to you, or to Draco-kun or even to Penny-chan. Do you think that we all will get along? We're going to have the strangest family ever".

"As mean as I am, Mana, I'm still your boyfriend," he joked, pinching her nose gently and finally stopped his routine. Ryouta took a small towel nearby and wiped his body dry. The black haired boy kissed his girlfriend's forehead as usual as sign of affection.
"Which one Okaa-san, though? The one inside that egg or her real Okaa-san? Whichever it is, I'd love it to meet her, too. I wonder what kind of person she is? I'm pretty sure that she's beautiful... also, I wondered... how many lines are there in Kodamon?"
Still, looking at the time, he noticed that it's time for the bath to be fully heated.
"Ah, the timer must've turned it off by now. Well, why don't you take the bath first? I can take the bath later. There's something I want to ask to Ayaka alone anyway, of course if you don't mind..."

Mana just puffed her cheeks as a gesture of feigned anger as she looked at Ryouta with a pouty face.
"And you better remain as my boyfriend. You can't imagine how much I..." she stopped mid sentence, not wishing to relive sad times. She was happy now, and she won't spoil the moment by saying sadness of a past long-gone. She finally decided to smile when he kissed her and hugged him for a second.
"Well, Ayaka told me that most Kodamons are composed of the exact same data because they reproduce asexually and only their experiences change them, so it could be said as if both of them are her mother? I don't know if we could ever find the Konohamon who 'gave birth' to her, but finding her would be so cool! I'd love to met her too!" she made a pause, thinking about Ryouta's next question "Well, at least two I guess. When we were in the Dark Area, a Sangloupmon refered to Ayaka as a weird name that definitely wasn't one of her evolutions, but I guess that Ayaka's okaa-san is more knowledgable about this stuff, so I guess that we should ask her when she decides to come out of her egg?".
However, at his mention of the bath being ready, she just nodded. She'd give him and Ayaka their privacy.
"Sure. Do you want me to take Penny-chan and Draco-kun too?" she asked before exiting the room, with or without the dragons if Ryouta prefered it.
After she exited the place with a 'Don't miss me!' and a wink, Ayaka looked intently at Ryouta, as if silently asking what he wanted to talk about.

"You won't be my girlfriend forever, you know?" he suddenly deadpanned, still hugging her and somehow, he's hugging stronger, as if not wanting her to leave just yet... however, he quickly grinned and added something that is typical to him while kissing her cheek. "You'll one day be my wife," he pointed out, giving her an eskimo kiss. Still, the cheesiness must stop for a bit when she explained something about what they found in Dark Area, also how the Kodamon line reproduces asexually. He have no idea if that kind of thing can be considered the same or not... Mana's words have some truth in it, but considering that their genotype is exactly the same, then perhaps that's the reason why there's only female?
Then again, he wonders if there is male Kodamon or there's none at all... Well, he goes offtopic now. "Hmmm, well, if you said it like that, I'm somehow thinking that somehow they can be both be sisters or parents and child... this is rather complex somehow," he laughed. "I'm not too sure because I haven't learned much of it, but isn't mutation also might change the genetic structure---oh wait, we're talking about Digimon, don't mind me... It's seem Miho-nee's biology teaching has rubbed on me..."
He scratched his head and let her go finally when she agreed to give him some time with Ayaka. "Yeah, if you can, bring both of the dragons, too... eh... Let Dracomon guard the door as you and Penny take a bath, I suggest. That way, there won't be any incident. By the way, like I said, five minutes is long enough, love~"
He gave her a quick kiss on the cheek before waving at her as she left the room.
"...Well, sorry for being abrupt and all, but... Ayaka, I'd like to ask... is it normal that you two haven't even found this Charles guy after months? Digital World isn't exactly vast unless you go to other country's Digital World portion... So I'm just wondering... what are the possibilities? And what you suggest to me in case we met him or something?"

Mana looked at him with his most serious expression at those words, yet, she began to imagine what she was about to say when she hugged her more tightly. Ryouta was definitely the meanest guy in the world. She smiled widely at him mentioning that he'd be one day his wife, but he wanted to talk to Ayaka, and she was still a little embarassed due to his teasing.
"Well, you won't ever know, don't you? I have to accept being your wife, after all" she said on a teasing tone after she skimo kissed back at him "And I won't marry the meanest person in the world".
Having said that, she flicked Ryouta's forehead as he kissed her yet again in her cheek and stood up when she let go of him. She called Penny and Dracomon, and before she came out of the room, she sticked her tongue to him, but with a smile.
"I'll be right back".
Ayaka, the only other being besides Ryouta who remained in the room, looked at him with a thoughtful expression. His question was a good one.
"I have been taking precautions for her to not to find him" she calmly said "But most of it is dumb luck, I guess. Yet, I am somehow sure that Charles-san is evading miss Mana too. Even if it is a relationship that hurts the two of them, he still loves her, and he knows that her welfare is assured if he is away from her... or at least I would like to think that. And I guess that maybe he is not confined to the Digital World? I cannot be that sure, but I guess that the Digital World is big enough for two persons to never met in there. I mean, we have not crossed paths with anybody during our trip from the Spartan Training Grounds to Terminus, and finally to Whitewater. However...".
She thought for a bit about his last question... she didn't know why, but as Ryouta had said, the possibilities of them crossing paths again was everpresent, no matter the measures taken, Mana was still looking after him.
"There are so many cases, but if you two met him and miss Mana has not undone their relationship, I suggest for you to leave the talking to her and be ready in case anything happens. I would not speak until he reacts to her words, honestly".

"Hah, even if I'm the meanest guy in the world, I'm also your beloved Ryo-kun, right, Mana?" he teased yet again, kissing her... almost on the lips. Honestly, he's really tired of not kissing her on the lips, but... a promise is promise. He won't kiss her on the lips before the issue is resolved. Ryouta just simply grinned when she flicked his forehead. Dang girl is rather cheeky, but whatever... he himself preferred her to be informal with him. He'd scowl if she called him 'Ryouta-san' like before... Ryo-kun sounds a lot more familiar.
Ayaka answered his question and honestly, dumb luck, huh? He's not sure to call it dumb luck or that the Kamis in the heaven above just doesn't like their relationship at all and decided to push her to him? Honestly, he have no idea, but... he really wishes to end it all... the more this goes on, the more it weighed his mind greatly. His much more selfish side wishes her to be his and only his... but his lighter side just wanted him to let Mana go... the longer this status quo is extended, the crueler it is for the other boy.
"Alright, Ayaka... I understand and I'll definitely let Mana do the talking... If I'm the one talking, most likely I'll only aggravate the situation and would make him misunderstood the situation... Well, if I do the talking, most likely he would appear..."

Mana smiled at the boy happily; he had nailed it perfectly but... he'd be on the dark about that, at least until she came out of her bath.
However, Ayaka looked at Ryouta with something akin to puzzlement... was he having doubts? Hopefully he wasn't, because Mana had already decided to throw a good deal of things away just to be with him. Only asking she could find out, however.
"You are not thinking anything strange, are you?" she inquired quietly. She wasn't acussing him, but was genuinely concerned about the boy. However, he quickly nodded to her suggestion about letting Mana do the talk. She has glad about it, to be honest. How knew in what that situation could devolve if they began to fight.
"Just be patient, okay? I know that this must be hard, but know that it is hard for Miss Mana too. She is giving out her best just to be with you, so please bear with her difficult situation; I am sure that it will end soon. And... who would appear? Are you talking to either of your sides? Why they would have anything to do with this situation? I know that your chaotic side cares for Miss Mana up to a point, but it is that concern about her big enough to make him appear?".

"...Funny thoughts, eh... Well, I guess you can call it one..." Ryouta sighed. "But it's not about Mana, it's about Charles, see... Look, Ayaka, I'm not a saint... as you can guess, I wanted to have Mana all for myself.. but at the same time, I'm not that much of a devil either... After letting her toss everything, after letting her pick a painful choice, I'm still sympathizing with Charles... If it happened to me, I don't know if I still can stay sane... Sure, being left by your girlfriend is one thing, but... with spirits that somehow condemning you to suffer? No, just... no."
He crossed his arms, not sure how to put it into words, his fear, his worry that they might have to clash with Charles because of him losing to his spirits and somehow the spirits made him into scapegoat for all the suffering the taller boy had gone through? He scratched his head.
"...This is complicated... well, look... if this Charles guy somehow lashes out and tries to attack me, yeah... my dark self most likely would appear... But I'm not so sure myself... All that I can say is... I hope there won't be any sort of bloodbath or databath or anything similar... My dark side is so attached to Mana... so if he tried to guilt trip her or do funny tricks, most likely he will act..."
Ryouta sighed once more. "Either way, yeah, I'll do my best to stay patient... I love her too much afterall... Thanks, Ayaka."

Ayaka sighed at Ryouta's words. She understood the boy's dilemma, but having mixed thoughts about the matter was going to do more bad than good, at least in the digimon's eyes.
"You should not make a big deal out of it, Ryouta. Everyone makes choices at every moment, and while I can see why you sumphatize with Charles-san, there is nothing that we can do about his current situation. The origins of his spirits are a mistery to everybody, and the reason of their strange behaviour is the cause of the puzzlement of more than one person. And I would train your sanity if I were you. What we have lived so far pales in comparison to whatever the future will bring. I just know it; and not everything will be pleasing".
She had a serious expression on her face, fully knowing that the perils that they will come across will only become greater and greater with time. After all, all the trials that they've faced so far were just that; trials.
"Hopefully, Ryouta. Hopefully we will not have to recur to violence, but... how it had been that way? I despise it, but fighting seems to be the only way make beings reason as of late. You know... sometimes I wonder if this violence will ever stop... if someday I would just be able to just take a walk on a tranquil garden with okaa-sama and rea-chan without thinking that right afterwards will have to go on a quest for something or to an oncoming fight. This is just... tiresome".
She smiled at Ryouta confirming that he'd be patient, but she didn't feel on a too chatty mood today. Some minutes after, Mana entered the room in the very same clothes she had been wearing, but with the notable difference that now a towel was wrapped around her hair. She smiled widely at the pair as (she guessed) Dracomon and Penny entered the room.
"I'm back!" she cheerily said "Did you miss me? You can use the bath now if you want to".

"Is it ironic if I said it's our destiny? To keep fighting just to obtain temporary peace? Somehow I felt like partnered sometimes is worse than being not... but at the same time, it's a fair trade... I got Dracomon, the most loyal friend and partner I can get... I can meet Mana... I can meet lot of peoples... but why I felt like the road ahead of us seem to be rather endless? Will it always consist of fighting?"
Ryouta looks rather dejected, however, when his love returned with the two dragons, Ryouta smiled gently and raise up from his sitting spot and hugged her, kissing her cheek softly. The boy really easily gone through 180 degree mood change if the girl is here... Yeah, as funny as it is, he can turn from a fierce guy into much calmer guy in a second just with her around. Ryouta lifted her slightly and gave her an eskimo kiss.
However, before he can speak anything...
"Geez, Ryouta, if you have a guest with you, I should've prepared everything! What kind of mother would you make me if you don't tell me that your friend is coming o---"
On the front door is Ryouta's mother, a bespectacled black haired woman who shared his eye color. She looks roughly mid-thirties. Gifted with rather nice skin, she doesn't need much make up, and it looks like she doesn't apply much either. Mrs. Noguchi is still in her teacher uniform and is carrying more and juice, but when she saw the scene in front of her, her face turned red and she put the tray on the floor slowly.
"A-ahhh... I'm sorry, I should've known! We-well, Ryouta, Okaa-san would leave you alone for now! Make sure to properly treat your girlfriend, alright? She's cute! I approve that! Um... I'll be downstairs if you need me!"
"W-WAIT, KAA-SAN!?"
Too late. She gone to the first floor with a hurried footsteps.

Ayaka sighed at the boy's response. Even if he didn't show it frequently, he was wise... and right. It was almost as if trouble would stir just for the mere fact that people were partnered. It was sad, but... a fair exchange, the fairy guessed. She firmly believed that Mana was worth this, and many, many more things.
However, the girl's second arrival to the room seemed to cheer up both the digimon and Ryouta. Mana smiled at the boy, flattered to the shower of affection that instantly fell over her. She responded to every gesture he made, but as she was eskimo kissing him back...
Ryouta's mother appeared. She looked like... well, a teacher. They were really similar on their looks (excluiding the fact that her boyfriend was really muscular and a man, but that was beside the point). Yet, as Mana eyed the woman with a mix of surprise and excitement at finally getting to meet her, she just left a tray on the floor and... with some nervous words, left the place, almost as if she were in a hurry.
The brunette was beffudled at what had happened, yet... she repaired that she still wore his boyfriend's clothes... could his mother had thought that... Dang. Red flushed to her face at the mere thought of that. However, she still had the towel wrapped on her hair, so that'd make for something really dubious... anyway.
"Kaa-san looked like a very nice lady, Ryo-kun" she simply said from her spot "By the way, does she know about digimon? I don't know if she saw them, but if she did, I guess that maybe seeing us together wasn't the only thing that surprised her. Anyway, do you want to clear the misunderstanding or just to remain here? I'd love to meet her!".
She was up to anything, to be honest. She finally felt almost as if she were part of a family in here. It brought her memories of her cousin. Would she be alright? Well, that was a thought for another time.

Honestly, he felt like he's going to die in shame. His mother looked at him barechested, his girlfriend up high and he lifted her up so high... the thing is, it's not the main issue. She's wearing his shirt... also, her hair probably still wet from the bath. He knows his mother won't misunderstood that they did something wrong, but the thing is, how to explain to her that they're not about to kiss?
"She... she found out the second day I became a tamer, about that Digimon... Well, the thing is, it's the last thing we should be worried about... Still, it's odd... Generally Kizu or Ino would come to my room immediately... don't tell me they're... they're still in cafe? Then... Kaa-san might came alone? Well, whatever it is... thanks... I'm pretty sure she's going to be in the kitchen, so let's go there. I'm pretty sure that she want to meet you, too!"
Ryouta leads her to the kitchen and opened the door, right when his mother is brewing what looks like warm orange juice for herself, added with some ginger extract and honey. Looking at the two of them (although, more particularly to Ryouta), she gave the boy disapproving look.
"First, young man, in front of your girlfriend, please wear your shirt. I know you have great physical genetics coming from my side of family, but that's not a reason to flaunt your body to her like that. Also..." her slightly stern face warmed into motherly smile at Mana. "Your girlfriend is cute. Would you mind introducing her to me?"
Ryouta pat Mana's back gently and grinned. "Sorry, but I was wet from the rain! I was about to take a bath, really! Um... so, this is Tsumura Mana, my junior by two years... she's from the same school as me."
"Oh my~ Nice to meet you, Mana-chan. I'm Noguchi Sara. Please make yourself at home, alright? No, more like... please do think this place as your second home. Do you want some?" she referred to her homemade drink. "It's good, really! Sorry if I caught you two on some good mood scene---"
"N-no! Kaa-san, we're not about to kiss!"
"Is that so...? Well, sorry regardless."

"Seems that you're really bad at keeping secrets" she said with a smile when Ryouta told her that his mother had found out that fast about Dracomon's existence "So, she won't freak out if I introduce Ayaka to her, right? Unless otou-san hasn't found out yet, that is".
And so, the couple, accompanied by their digimons (or at least by Ayaka and Penny), descended the stairs and now were where Ryouta's mother was. She smirked at the boy being scolded for flaunting his body to her. If she only knew how much he enjoyed using it to tease her, probably she'd scold her a little more.
At introduction time, however, she widely smiled at the older woman as introductions were made.
"It's a pleasure to finally meet you, kaa-san!" she said without a hint of shyness as Ayaka bowed to her "Ryo-kun has told me a lot about you, and I was so looking forward to meet you!" she then eyed the drink she was being offered and smiled even wider.
"Of course I'd like some!" yet, it seemed that the boy was easily flustered about the fact that maybe (or maybe not) they were about to kiss each other. She blinked at the sudden shyness, but kept her smile on her face.
"Ryo-kun said that Ino-chan and Kizu-chan would be back with you. What happened?".
