Salla was walking through the mostly empty park. Then her pendant started glowing, pointing at some bushes. She walked over and found a large egg covered in blue stripes with a yellow crescent on the front. She picked up the egg and held it close. Her pendant quit glowing the moment she touched the egg. "This must be the egg of my Digimon partner," she breathed. Now that she looked around, she realized it was the exact same spot she found her Digivice and D-Terminal. How am I supposed to hatch this thing? she wondered, realizing Antonio never gave her any instructions.
She could try sitting on it like a bird, but she figure that would either break the egg or just succeed in hurting her bottom. She could just smash it open, but that was a worse idea. She sighed. "What the heck am I supposed to do with it now that I have it?" She wondered aloud. As if to answer her question, her pendant began pulsing with light. The mark on the egg also began glowing. When she held the pendant up to the mark, the egg was enveloped in bright light. When the light faded, a small white ball Digimon lay in her arms. The Digimon smiled warmly as it looked up at its new Tamer.

Nova walked to the park from the taxi cab after paying. He knew he was early, but that wasn't going to stop him. He was walking through the park when he spotted a flash of light. He ran in the direction the light came from. That's when he saw Salla. "Hey Salla, what was that flash I saw?" he asked. He fell silent for a moment. "What are you holding?" he questioned. You see, this all happened before he found his way to the Digital World, so he didn't even have a Digivice yet. "Look, I know you want time to yourself, and I can respect that, but you can't just have me running all over Shibuya looking for you. I blew every penny to my name looking for you today," he told her.
"Okay, fine. I waited in our apartment this time and borrowed our neighbor's cell phone to make my own ruse more convincing," he admitted. "But the point is, you have to act more responsible like the young adult you believe yourself to be," he pointed out. "We both grew up fast, you academically and I mentally, but you and I are both still kids," he finished.

Salla visibly jumped at her brother's voice. He was way too early for her taste. "Quick, make like a toy," she quietly told the small Digimon. It frowned, but blinked. Salla hoped it meant that it understood what she needed it to do. She spun around to face her brother. "Oh, hey Nova," she greeted. "I'm not sure where it came from, but someone left this stuffed toy lying around," she lied. "Did you really?" she asked part way through Nova's lecture. Nova's response was just what she expected. "You want me to be more responsible, Dad? Alright, then give me a full 24 hours without your surveillance," she told Nova. Dad was her own little nickname for him because he was overprotective like a parent.
They still had a mom, so she decided to call him Dad whenever he acted anything like a parental figure. "If go the full 24 hours without anything serious happening, you have to start giving me a little space. If anything does happen, I will never pull anything like this on you again," she stated. She had Nova trapped now. The only way out was for him to sa that he didn't trust, but when you look back on all the stunts she used to pull, why would he?

Nova didn't seem to buy Salla's fib about the thing she held in her arms being a toy. If it were abandoned there would be a spot of dirt on on the pristine white thing. However, he seemed to ponder Salla's demand. "On one condition: you cannot spend time at home except to sleep or eat. Aside from that you have to be out and about," Nova stated. Just to be safe, he intended to be home during the twenty-four hours. "Your twenty-four hours begin the next moment you leave my sight," he told her. "Let's up the stakes though, if you win, I'll fix you a home cooked meal. Anything you like. If I win, you treat me to dinner tomorrow," he stated.
Nova wouldn't mind the cooking if he lost. He only cared that they determine whether or not Salla would be fine without him for twenty-four hours. He would actually feel better about the whole thing if she did make it. Then he noticed the ground beneath Salla beginning to crack with light leaking out. "Salla, look out!" he warned. He watched with horror as the beneath her shattered as if it were made of glass, revealing a portal of some sort underneath.

"Challenge accepted," she agreed after she heard Nova's conditions. At Nova's warning, she looked at the ground beneath her feet. Then a portal literally cracked open under her feet. She made a grab for Nova's hand as she fell, but missed as Nova reached out for her. She screamed as she fell. Judging from a surprised shout, she decided Nova must've fell through one too. "Yukimi Botamon Digivolve to..." Salla looked down to see her Digimon glowing brightly and changing shape. "Moonmon!" The light finally died down revealing a slightly larger blue Digimon. "I really hoped my first day with you wouldn't be this hectic," she stated.
"I knew this was going to be a weird day," Salla sighed. I just had to open my big mouth. Oh well, at least I can get these 24 hours over with, she thought. When she came out of the portal with Moonmon, she found herself surrounded by ghost-like Digimon in a barren desert. They'd look more intimidating it weren't for the fact they looked like they were wearing bed sheets. "Clearly this can't get much worse," Salla stated.
Salla stared through the bars that held her inside her cell as she looked back on everything that happened leading up to her being trapped in the Dark Area. Artemis the Moonmon sat in her lap. She was pretty much Salla's ray of sunshine, which is ironic considering she's a Moonmon. "I should have never tried to prove myself to Nova that day," she sighed.
