It was in the deepest village in the harshest jungle in the digital world, one of the most dangerous locations for any member of the human world, so naturally our "hero" was there in a very difficult situation. As Yaku lay tied up on a pole, the tribal digimon surrounding him attempting to start a fire, he moaned in pain. He'd been out for a long, long time, even by his standards. Last thing he remembered was being offered a drink, and how as he downed it he grew sleepy... then he got beat up by a large digimon with a club. With a large lump on his head and the throbbing pain of a bad drink in his stomach, he opened his mouth and found it with a fruit jammed into it.
As he moaned and watched as his final moments were being prepped it became painfully clear to the man that, even if he got up, it would take a miracle to save him from this rather embarrassing death. The tiny shacks around him and large leafy jungle proved to dense, even if he could escape his bonds he'd never be able to run. That's when he spotted his suitcase besides the leader's large chair, laying on its side. Moaning and huffing, he began struggling loudly and attempted to shimmy his way over.

Meanwhile, Vetina was resting up in one of the nearby huts, along with Betty. It had been a rough period but apparently that Mel situation was taken care of. Those guys had let him live. At least, that's what Betty said that Ghost told her.
So the two girls were simply wandering around, and decided to rest at this village. A bit more tribal than she would have liked, but she was not going to fault their traditions.
The two heard some mention of them catching something to eat. Vetina figured she would maybe get some when its done, perhaps. But as of now she wasn't done resting.
Although something told her to get up. But she wanted to rest. And kinda wanted to get up...
"Matey, my locations at the current time finds me lacking respite. Maybe you have a matter of minuteness to speak of?"
"Hmm... want to head to the human world?"

It was as Yaku reached a halfway point of a foot when the pole he'd been attached too fell over, causing a loud thump as he landed facefirst in some mud. As the mud covered his face and began drowning him, he panicked and struggled against his bonds as his embarrassing death only grew more and more uncomfortable. The sounds of their next meal drowning to death was nothing that bothered the tribe, but it might have carried far enough to be heard by someone who did.
Yaku finally managed to roll over, coating his back and head in mud as he spat up mud and the fruit that had once prevented his shouts for help. He panted violently as he tried to think of his next move and looked around, spotting that the hut filled with weapons had its front door open. Realizing slim chances were better than no chances at all, the man attempted to roll to the hut in hopes to find something to cut himself free.

"Vetina? You there?"
Vetina looked distracted, but quickly shook her head.
"Bear my apology. I stepped a brief juncture of auditory delusion. Words of the human's grounds... might have prompted a fraudulent hearing of Tridori..."
"Tridori? You mean that dopey human you were with?"
"A modicum of respect, could I ask of you? The familiarity tying us is somewhat mutual in regards to him."
"Yeah, whatever."
"Oh, my core foliage pigment betrays a feeling now. Oh Yaku... certainly courting his mate... woe to my situation, a wearyness forbade visiting. "

Rolling slowly over the terrain that alternated between rocky and grassy (and by grassy I mean rolling over plants that may or may not aggravate his allergies/give him rashes), the pole Yaku was attached too slam and broke... everything it touched, really. As the single guard in charge of him slept his life away Yaku was causing quite a ruckus on his way to to weapon's hut. Of course, all this noise attracted other villagers who began shooting arrows and tossing spears and other, potentially lethal attacks at him as he began juggling multiple balls in the air, finally slamming into the weapons hut and trying frantically to open the door with his hogtied hands.
Just as an arrow was about to jam itself into his eye socket, the man found the door open and felt the arrow thup dramatically into his remaining glass in his glasses, stopping just centimeters from his eye and he fainted out of sheer terror, his escape attempt thwarted.

"Cripes, it's getting pretty noisy outside, Vetina. Think we should check it out?"
"Mayhaps a meal to lose volition, trading feet for feast. But... a while bean is far less enjoyable than conspicuous. Let's go.
The two girls went out the hut they were in, at first seeing the villagers shoot arrows at something... and then seeing the something they were shooting at. Just as Betty registered who the target was, Vetina was already on the move, digivolving to her mega form, Miagemon, and slashing at the remaining arrows, all at high speed.
The mega digimon looked to the ground, seeing the fainted Tridori lying helpless with an arrow on his eye... although closer examination shows that it was his glasses that saved him... what was left of them, anyway.
"Yaku... Tridori Yaku... dearie what dragged you here?"

Yaku tried to wake up, or at least not pass out too hard as he heard the voice of Vetina calling for him. "Oh my god... ugh someone I recognized... am I still alive?" He asked, trying to move within his bonds, frowning softly. "That voice... is that you, Vetina? Am I dead? I feel like I'm dead." He shook his head before a large arrow landed just inches from his foot, waking him up really quickly. "Untie me! Untie me now, Vetina! The story won't matter if I die!" He said, struggling in his bonds and trying to grab her. "I need my suitcase, it's got all the things I used to survive in this crazy world!" He explained, the other digimon turning their bloodthirsty attention to Betty and Vetina rather than the hapless Yaku.
((Sorry for the short post, can't do much until he's untied))

Vetina picked up Yaku, holding him close in a protective sort of way so she could better protect him. Meanwhile, Betty had moved over towards the other two, hoping Vetina had some sort of plan. "Free range when perforation is a waning happening. For now... their lunch isn't the only ones lost, most likely. Steel your fortitude!"
Vetina dived towards the suitcase, rolling over it to pick it up before using her thrusters to run away, followed by Betty. The trees had to be avoided, slowing their escape, but they quickly left the village. Hopefully they wouldn't be able to give chase.

After a while as they fled the spears and arrows stopped flying and the tribal digimon found themselves out of a meal. As Yaku shook his head and tried to reconfigure himself from the escape, he found himself greatly appreciative of his old friend. "Vetina, thank god... Oh man, I thought I was dead for a moment there, thank you!" He hugged her in a rather uncharacteristic display of compassion... before backing away and doing his more traditional bow. Taking off his glasses and trying figure out how to remove the arrow, he began explaining. "Now, um... it's less I came back and more I never left..." He shook his head and began trying to pull the item from his eyewear.
"It all started when You left me alone in the city, I figured it would only need to be a trip back to the monorails and a few glasses of sake to return to normal, but as I got on the train I got into a fight, on complete accident, mind you, with these digimon who tossed me off the train and into that snowy, wintery place. From there I found a town and ended up being kidnapped by a crazy LadyDevimon and... I don't remember what happened but considering I woke up in a bed beside her I don't really wish to see her again. So then I was in the Dark Area and after stumbling around in this labyrinthine death trap which I FINALLY got out of with the help of two friendly explorers, I learned I was in the Dark Area, and the only way off was by air or by sea. So I went to a store and as luck would have it a strange digimon named Astamon gave me a boat in exchange for a few errands."
He took a breath and continued. "So I got a boat but after I left the island I realized that they'd sent me off with no crew and no food or water so I was stuck adrift for days until another traveler spotted me and gave me a ride to shore. There I headed to the city and got a job with a rather nice family of unusual digimon at their travelling restaurant, not until after I got into a battle with some mugger and his bearmon though." As the arrow finally came out, he put his glasses back on, looking around through the cracked lens that remained. "After I got paid, a new change of clothes, and new allies, I went to try and follow an odd map that had been slipped into my briefcase and found myself going from village to village asking digimon to help decifer it. Obviously it was dangerous and stupid and I had quite a few... misfortunes along the way but everything seemed to be going fine until I realized I ended up going in circles! It was around the time after I reconnected with a family of Tentomon who'd been kind enough to let me sleep in their nest for the night that I was kidnapped by this tribe! And... now you know what happened."

The girls ran... flew and flew through the forest. Seeing they were safe at the moment, the two stopped. Vetina, now not fearing stray arrows flying about, was able to cut Yaku free after going back to her Ranamon form.
Yaku hugged the odd female digimon, catching her off guard and hesitant in hugging him back. She knew of her own affections towards this human and feared being too familiar with a married man. He then bowed towards her and told her what happened.
There was a sense of guilt in hearing that he never so much as got back to his home after she left. She had matters she had to attend to, sure, but part of her wished she would have took him home herself.
He continued with the recap of evens between the times they've met last, although Vetina did recognize the mention of a family with a traveling restaurant. It seems he had met Lilly and her crew. Of course, they were busy so they wouldn't have been able to help him get home either.
He finished his story, and the Ranamon scratched her head. "Every moment's sharp as blades and fangs, eh? But... well, no preoccupations stands before me now. Tridori Yaku, with staunch inclinations, I personally will regard you back home by mechanization and hands I own.
My friend, may no less be offered to you."

"Oh thank GOD!" He said, hugging her again. "I'm finally going home! I'm going to see my wife again! My job, my house, everything!" He just squeezed her, almost shockingly strong for the man. "I'm sure there's a reward for you... I-I mean, if there isn't I'll still give you one!" He said, jumping for joy as he let go and went to hug Betty instead. "Oooooh thank you both so much!" He takes his briefcase back and opens it, checking carefully to see if everything he had was in it. "Oh, good, they didn't ruin it..." He took out the picture of his wife and smiled as he looked at it, calming down once more and breathing deeply. "I'm coming home..."
He put it back in his case before realizing his faux pa. "Oh, yes, sorry..." He bowed at Betty, keeping a calm grin. "I am pleased to meet you, I am Tridori Yaku. I'd give you a business card but... I do not have any."

Vetina blushed a bit, being on the receiving end of another hug. He was certainly excited... "N-no rewards need be given. I'll reiterate, you're in need, friend. Your safety is the treasure where satisfaction is to be gleaned."
He then went on to hug Betty, although she was in no position to tell him no. He was, after all, a victim. The digital world isn't for every human, and it's a surprise he survived up to this point.
He ended up collecting himself to formally introduce himself. The Flamedramon would at least acknowledge this. She gave a slight nod and spoke.
"The name is Betty. But we should be going, like, right now."
The Flamedramon digivolved into Paildramon, and kneeled down. Vetina, however, reverted back to her Ranamon stage.
"Yes... bee line to your origin, Yaku."

"But Vetina, I insist, you and your friend have saved my life! I've been wandering for months on end and you two come to take me back to the human world! I should at least give you something in return!"
He paused to let Vetina's companion talk. "Ah, it is nice to meet you, Betty." He smiled happily and bowed once more before she digivolved into a larger creature and kneeled down. Yaku knew of Digivolution. He didn't understand it but he knew of it, thinking on it he probably should have asked back at the diner but hindsight being twenty twenty and all that.
Yaku blinked, confused before realizing what she was doing. "Oh, oh right!" He climbed onto Betty's back carefully, trying not to harm her. "I... um... I'm not used to flying..." He confessed as he braced himself, putting his glasses in his suitcase for safe keeping. "Please be gentle..."

"If insistence is your ground then heed to it once the finale happens. Discussions of service bartering just wait in queue."
Once he got on, Vetina was right behind him, holding on to Betty and Yaku at the same time.
"Look, if you're gonna barf on my back try to aim away from it. It's either the air or through the jungle, and I'm sure you don't want to go back through there.
But I'll try to take it easy."
Her wings began to flap, and she lifted off into the air. Avoiding some branches along the way, Betty got to an opening and through through it, now over the jungle.
"It'll take us some time to get to Terminus, especially if I take my time. Just giving you fare warning."

"Take all the time you want, I just want to go home..." The businessman said, sighing gently as he looked over the digital world passing below him. It had been a long, long time since Yaku'd seen the human world and the more he thought about it, the more he grew worried. Would he be remembered? Would people care? Do they think he's dead and just moved on or are they still looking? Would his wife do that to him? He tried to imagine himself in the human world again, with all his cuts and scrapes, the tears and twists in his body.
He recalled a film he saw once, about a man trapped on an island, and how near the end of the film he's rescued at the cost of his best friend being lost at sea. Wen he arrives home the media makes a spectacle about it, but because he'd been gone for so long the world moved on without him. His girlfriend married someone else, he was declared legally dead, all of his possessions had been given away, all he had was his job and his car, but he was empty inside. As Yaku took out the photo of his wife and looked at it, he wondered what he would return too... or if he would be able to return at all.
