“Come on, Shiro! If you don’t stay still and quiet, I can’t take you out with me!” The boy named Kai was berating a small, white ball of fluff. The white one’s twin, black in color, chimed in, “You’re fighting an impossible battle, you know. Shiro is physically incapable of staying quiet.” “I can too, Kuro! Watch me!” The digimon waited for five seconds. “See!?” Kuro just shook her head.
Somehow, they managed to shut Shiro up for long enough to get out of the house, the two digimon tucked firmly in Kai’s bag. “And don’t you go wandering off this time, Shiro. Just stay right here, and be quiet, okay?” Kai doubted that Kuro could actually stop her brother, if he decided to run off again, but he had to trust her. After all, being cooped up in his room was making Shiro restless. And when Shiro was restless, he made it impossible for anyone else to relax, either. Just this morning, he’d woken up with his face covered in clothespins! He didn’t have a clue how Shiro had gotten them all on, without waking him up.
After pulling the pins off and putting them away, Kai had decided he needed to bring Shiro somewhere to let off that excess energy. He decided to try the park first, it was fairly large, so he was likely to find an uninhabited corner where no one would see the weird creatures which he brought with him.
Finding a suitable spot, under a tree with no one in sight, he sat down and opened his bag. “Now Shiro, you can do what do what you want here. Just remember, if you see any humans, run straight back here. And don’t say anything!” He caught himself: There was no way Shiro would remember to do that. Kuro seemed to note this as well, as she started to chuckle. “Yeah, that was silly of me. Kuro, would you mind keeping an eye on him?”
The black digimon let out a small “Hmph,” but she did go out and follow her brother.
