It had been a close call. Kai’s mother had barged into his room, asking him for something she thought he borrowed a week ago. More importantly, she had nearly stepped on the white Digimon named Shiro which made its home in Kai’s room. It was a miracle that he wasn’t seen, but it did make Kai think that he really needed a better way to handle him. If only he was more like his sister, Kuro, who had enough sense to stay out of sight when they had heard footsteps approaching.
At this rate, it was only a matter of time before his parents found out. Considering their stance on pets, his being allowed to to keep a pair of extradimensional monsters was… Unlikely. Especially given the amount that Shiro would eat, if he could. Kai sighed. “Come on you two, some fresh air would do us some good.”
“We’re going outside? Are we getting food? Shiro, the eternal optimist, squeaked. Now, Kai had no intention of getting the Digimon, who could easily eat his weight in food and still be hungry, anything. Still, he told the digimon “Maybe, if, and only if, you’re quiet.” To his credit, the white digimon did manage to keep his mouth closed. Kai gave him about three steps after leaving the house before he would start talking again.
With Shiro bribed, albeit by lies, into silence, Kai had no trouble getting out of the house with his two. The only real question was, where to go? Bringing Shiro to Cat Street hadn’t ended well, either time. The park had seemed to work out fine… But, well, he probably was going to save that for a last resort. He took his second step outside of the house. “Food now?”

It wasn't often that the chance to visit the Digital World presented itself to Daniel anymore. Between school and work the free time that he had once had, had all but vanish from his life. He had grown up. The days where he'd spend weeks in the Digital World exploring its vast forests, deep caves, sandy beaches, and vast cities had all but expire as he took on more responsibility. It didn't happen all at once, no it came slowly. He'd have to leave early, then he'd go several days without visiting, and before he knew it several weeks. He missed it. Some would even dare to say that Daniel craved to relive those precious moments of his past. To once more escape from the reality of his life and be a child enjoying the majestic word that co-existed with his own.
Which is why when the hands of fate aligned at the perfect location that allowed Daniel to spend not one, but four days within the Digital World he jumped at it. He had put in just enough hours at work that he'd gain a brief vacation; and school was currently on a hiatus. The young man couldn't pack his bags fast enough. Still just because he couldn't wait to leave didn't mean he overlooked being readily prepared. He made sure that everything he was going to need for the dangers he might face was inside of his backpack. Food, water, flashlight, lighter, and variety of other useful objects were tucked safely inside the black backpack that was slung over his shoulder.
It was good thing his father worked long hours and was gone days at a time or this would look strange. Before actually leaving his house though; Daniel brought his Digivice to his face. The DATS issue digivice differed from your standard D-3 in that it allowed for Daniel to stored Guilmon inside of it when needed. While typically Daniel didn't use the function; instead preferring the use of the holosuit, it would have looked strange leaving alongside his 'cousin' Jacob. "I'll let you out once we get to the station Guilmon." the face of his partner popped onto the screen.
"Just hurry; I always feel cramp inside this thing."
Daniel gave a nod and then left his house. He managed to get a whole twelve blocks away before fate brought a detour into his plans. His digivice began to beep signally that two unregister Digimon were nearby. The youth let out a heavy sigh before bring the device out from its pouch; the signal that they were giving off was weak. In-training digimon maybe? Had another person received their Digimon, or were these two just strays that had escaped into his world? As badly as Daniel wanted to just ignore the call of duty he couldn't. That feeling he got whenever something interesting was happening just couldn't be ignored.
Digivice in hand he began to his way towards the source of the output; and that's when he came across Kai. He had actually been standing right in front of him when his partner spoke. Daniel lowered his arm to his side and shook his head back and forth; "Just can't catch a break can I?"

Hearing a voice, Kai turned. Had Shiro been heard? He wasn't entirely clear on what happened when Digimon were seen by non-tamers, but according to Yui, the Digimon were taken away. "Excuse m-" he began, but was interrupted in the worst conceivable way. Shiro, having not heard the other boy speak, poked his head out. "Why'd we stop, Kai? Is something wro- Oh." The white Digimon dove back into the bag upon realizing Kai was not alone, but it was too late.
Kai groaned. Before, even if the other person had heard Shiro's voice, he could have passed it off. But how could he possibly explain away a talking white rodent in his bag? "Umm... I... Umm..." he faltered, at a complete loss for words. At least Shiro seemed to have realized the trouble they were in, and was keeping his mouth shut. Not that the creature could make things worse at this point. Well, at least Kuro hadn't been noticed yet.
