"Hah! I could do that if I wanted to! But... That would make it too easy! Ooh, that's gotta sting." Even as he commented on the other digimon's fall, Shiro's voice maintained an enthusiastic tone. Running up to the fallen digimon, he tapped Terriermon with his paw. "You're it!" he called, before prancing off in the other direction.
Kai was slightly concerned after Terriermon's fall, but the digimon seemed fine, so he continued paying attention to Kirito. He took a mental note of the stages of digivolution- Fresh, In training, Rookie, Champion, and Ultimate. He wondered what phase his two were in. He should probably ask them. "Ah, thanks. Man, it feels bad having to be taught things by someone who's had their Digimon for even less time than I have." It really, really did, though he tried to mask it with a laugh. It was a hollow sounding laugh, though, and he doubted it fooled anyone.
"Oh, no, I live in a house. A proper 2LDK. There's been a lot more room ever since Renji... My brother, that is, moved out. Thankfully he did, I'd never be able to hide Shiro if I was still sharing a room with him." Bad enough that he still had to share clothes with Renji. There was no way he would be able to keep something as big as the Digimon from him! And then Kuro and Shiro would probably decide that Renji would make a better partner...
Somehow, that last one hurt him more than the rest combined.

Kirito looked to Kai he had to admit, he felt a little bad and wondered if he should have actually passed that information over to him. "Sorry, as I said, Terriermon was the one with the knowledge... Do your Digimon not know of this?" He asked, still feeling a little bad. Terriermon had already climbed back to his feet and was chasing after Shiro now, reaching out with his eat and tapping him on the back of the head. "Your it!" He said, poking his tongue out before turning in the opposite direction and running.
Kirito couldn't help but think that Kai was actually lucky in the sense of having an actual house and the fact that he knew little about Digimon. Kirito was already starting to think that the less he knew about Digimon, the better in a sense.

Did Kuro and Shiro know about digivolution? He should probably ask them that, before he asked them about what stage they were at. "If they do, they haven't told me." Kuro deigned to answer his question with a defensive, "You never asked. It didn't seem terribly important. It's not like we'll be digivolving any time soon," she added with a yawn. "Well, there you have it." Kai told the other boy.
"Anyways, I should probably get going. It's late, and I don't want my parents to worry..." He paused, then rummaged in his bag for a bit. Pulling out an old notebook and a pen, he tore out a scrap of paper and scribbled something on it. "Here's my phone number. We should keep in touch, since we're both new Tamers and all. See you around." Turning to Shiro, he called, "Come on, Shiro. It's time to go!"
"Aww man, do I have to?" Came the disappointed response. Kai felt bad dragging Shiro away from his new playmate, but it really was getting late, and Shiro had been fed. He shouldn't make his mother worry, especially when he was keeping a huge secret like this from her.

Kirito couldn't help a smile when Kuro had finally spoken, noting that she did know about it but deemed that it wasn't exactly important. Though it made him wonder one thing, she said 'its not like we'll be Digivolving any time soon', does that mean Digimon don't necessarily Digivolve when needed or wanted, but perhaps there was a required time? He didn't say this out loud though, it was just one more question to add to his list of mysteries.
Kai announced that he had to go because his parents were probably going to worry if he stayed out any longer and Kirito was starting to think the same thing. He told his parents that he wasn't going to be gone long and that he had to just do a few things, it was really just to get Terriermon a meal, but they didn't know that. Kirito's mother was one of those people who was down to earth and cool, but had a natural mother's instinct and worried about her baby boy often. "I understand, I probably should be heading back too."
He watched as Kai pulled out his notebook and pen, tearing out a page and wrote down his number on it. "Of course." Kirito smiled, not actually thinking of this at the time, it was a good idea. He immediately reached into his pocket and pulled out his cellphone, swiping to unlock the screen and entering the dial pad. Pressing the required numbers, Kirito called Kai and immediately hung up after one ring. "Now you have my number too." He said, folding Kai's piece of paper and placing it in his pocket. Although Kirito had a phone that he could store numbers on, he still liked to have a hard copy in his phone book at home, just in case his phone was to go into the washing machine again.
Terriermon ran over to Kirito with a little bit of a disappointed look upon his face, having to say goodbye to a new friend and Kirito looked down at his Digimon and smiled. ""It is okay, we will arrange a day to hang out with them." Terriermon nodded and turned to the other Digimon, waving with his ears. "Catcha later!" With that, Kirito knelt down so that Terriermon could jump onto his shoulders again, turning to start heading back to the house while handing some more food to him.
