Scout had made the decision to wait until evening before heading to the park. Fewer people tended to be there, as the day drew to a close, or at least in the particular corner he'd gone to sit in. An out-of-the-way bench, a little ways off the main path. He'd pulled his hood down for once, and had one ear currently taken up by half of a 'hands-free' pair of earphones, the microphone dangling near his mouth. He'd done this, of course, to make it less suspicious to anyone who saw him seemingly talking to himself.
A plan he'd only half-thought through.
He locked eyes with the black football-esque creature in his bag, meeting the gaze of its red orbs for a moment, "See! I told you I'd bring you outside," He offered his usual friendly smile.
"This is barely outside, Kid," BlackKoromon grumbled in response, peering out from the satchel, "why exactly am I not allowed to stretch my legs?"
"You...don't have legs,"
"...Shh. You know what I mean. And I only degenerated because you insisted the humans would freak out,"
Scout laughs, "At a little dinosaur running around? Of course! Sometimes I can barely believe all of this stuff myself! Try to lighten up, huh? I promise I'll buy more ice cream for you on the way home!"
"...Hrf."

"Kai! Kai!" Kai looked up from his notebook, which was open to a rough sketch of the speaker. The white Digimon, who claimed that in this form he was called KoShiromon (As opposed to the previous form, which was Kokkurimon), looked very similar to a cat. In fact, were it not for his eyes, and his tendency to be extremely vocal, Kai could easily mistake him for one. "What it is, Shiro?" He asked, continuing to call the Digimon by the nickname he had given it while it shared a name with its sister. Said sister, nicknamed Kuro, was resting quietly on Kai's lap. Unlike her brother, she usually chose not to waste energy running around.
"It's getting late. Are you going to get us food?" The creature may always be hungry, but it was true that the sun was starting to go down. "Alright, we probably should get you something soon. I'll wake Kuro up, and we can head out," he said, gently shaking the black Digimon on his lap. Gathering up the two digimon, as well as the few notebooks he'd brought with him, he started heading back towards the more populated area of the park. "If you're good, I'll get you a baked sweet potato," Kai told the energetic white creature, referencing a food that Shiro had tried and loved in his previous form.
"Sweet Potato? All right!" Kai couldn't help but chuckle at the Digimon's enthusiasm. His chuckle soon froze, as he realized the three of them weren't alone. The boy on the park bench they had walked by without noticing was wearing a headset, but had that kept him from hearing Shiro? He wasn't sure, but he really hoped it had.

Hope! Pfft. What a foolish notion. No, Scout had heard him. He looks up, and eyes the boy that'd walked past him. He looks old. Older. Not that 'older' means much at fifteen. He pops the headphone out of his ear, hazel eyes sweeping over the boy and coming to rest on his face, as his own takes on a friendly smile.
Oh god, could this be his default expression?! Warmth and welcome?!
Wait, this boy has glasses! Scout loves glasses! He's always wanted some, but, curse his luck, his eyesight is near-perfect. Bah. One of these days, he'll have the terrible eyesight he's always wanted!
"Hello! I'm sorry, did you say something? I wasn't listening,"
"Kid, who're you talking to?" Comes a deeper voice, from the open satchel on the bench next to the boy.
Scout facepalms, "Aw, come on. That wasn't even five minutes!"
"...I regret nothing."
Well, good. This is a perfectly ordinary situation. A young boy being overly-friendly, and his talking bag. Good. That's...good.

"No, I was ju..." Kai had been going to say, 'just talking to myself,' but his voice faltered when he heard the bag talking. That's right. Bag. Talking. He had a bad feeling about this. There was only one thing capable of that level of speech, while also being in a bag that size. A Digimon. So this was how it felt, when other people met him because of Shiro running off and doing something crazy, an occurrence that was far more common than was ideal. He felt... Odd, but a bit relieved that he, a tamer, had heard it, and not some random person.
"Errr..." he began, not entirely sure where to start. What if he was wrong about there being a Digimon in the bag? He didn't want to just say, "Is that a Digimon in your bag? Or am I crazy?" "A Digimon? That means it's okay to talk, right! It was at this point, that Kai realized he'd spoken out loud. He really hoped he was right about the source of the second voice. Talking cats tended to be hard to explain.

Scout blinks! Blinkblink! This guy knows about Digimon! Oh! And that cat just talked. It might be a Digimon, too. Ooh! He looks very excited, suddenly. How...uh. Unnerving. "Yeah! How do you know about Digimon? Hi! Who's your friend?" Fast-paced, disjointed, and unorganized questions. Cool.
"Kid, breathe! Stop gushing,"
The source of the voice hops out of the bag, and lands on the floor. A soccer ball-sized, sort-of rounded creature with jet black skin with long flowing ribbon appendages atop it. Red eyes lock onto the other assumed-Digimon there, as it sniffs the air.
"Oh! Was I gushing? I'm so sorry! I don't mean to gush! Sometimes I just get so excited about meeting ne--"
"Breathe."
"Right, right."

Kai was taken aback by the boy's excited behaviour. It was the first time he had ever met someone this friendly, with the possible exception of Shiro. Speaking of Shiro, the white cat-like Digimon had jumped down, and was excitedly poking around the thing that was most definitely a Digimon. "Shiro! Stop that!" Shiro took a step back, looking almost embarrassed. "Sorry."
Keeping Shiro's curiosity from being rudeness helped Kai get over his surprise. "I know about Digimon because I have them as partners. You've met KoShiromon, also known as Shiro," he said, pointing towards the white Digimon with his free hand. "And this, is KoKuromon, though I call her Kuro." he revealed the contents of his other arm, the black Digimon named Kuro. She roused at the mention of her name, and gave a nod to the new acquaintances. "It is nice to meet you."
"Yeah, what she said!"

"Partners! That's so cool!" He looks down at his companion, "Wait, like...what?"
BlackKoromon sighs, "You should remember this, Kid. Some Digimon are partnered with humans. They fight together, and work together towards a common goal."
"Oh!" The boy beams, and waves at both cat-like creatures, "It's very nice to meet you both. All three of you! I'm Scout Evans, and this is my buddy BlackAgum--BlackKoromon,"
The small creature tips forwards in a nodding gesture, "Hello."
Scout's energy levels seem to be rising to dangerous levels, as he practically dances on the spot. Like a human reactor, ready to explode. He wonders if there's a protocol to meeting other Digimon-related kids he hasn't worked out yet. A secret handshake using the D-Scanners? Pfft. Who knows!

Kai was, very suddenly and unexpectedly, confused. "Wait, you mean you two aren't partners?" He had assumed that the boy was the Digimon... BlackKoromon's tamer, but by the way they were talking, he wasn't. "Sorry, I just realized that I forgot to introduce myself. I'm Kai, Kai Haimura." He offered his hand to the other boy for a handshake. The Scout's excited nature threw him off, he wasn't quite sure how to deal with him.

"Hi, Kai, nice to meet you!" You've already said that. Still. He reaches out to grasp Kai's hand, giving it a couple of rapid shakes, just this side of whiplash-inducing. BlackKoromon sighs. Sometimes, this kid... "Oh, well. We're partners in that we travel around together, but we're not linked together or anything,"
He reaches into his pocket and pulls out a black and green D-Scanner, holding it up so Kai can see. That smile grows a little wider, "This is my D-Scanner. I use it to access the Spirit of Fire and change into BigAgumon,"
BlackKoromon grunts, "Kid, stop telling everyone we meet everything,"
"Hey, I don't tell that many people!" Scout blinks, then turns back to Kai and give an apologetic bow, "Sorry. We disagree, sometimes."

Kai paused for a moment, not sure he'd heard right. "You... Change into a Digimon? I... I... I don't even... How!?" He sputtered out, completely caught off guard by this revelation. Fortunately, Shiro was there to help him out. "Really? You turn into a Digimon? Let me see!" The white Digimon bounded up to Scout, and watched him expectantly. Some things, never changed.

"Okay, let me just digiv--" He presses a button on his D-Scanner, but is cut off by BlackKoromon headbutting his leg. He winces, "Ow! What was that for, man?"
The Digimon sighs, "Not here, dufus. People might walk past, and you aren't exactly small when you change,"
"Oh, right," Scout frowns a little, looking a little downtrodden, "Sorry, I guess I can't show you. Oh! Maybe if you know somewhere where we're less likely to be seen I could show you. Hm,"
BlackKoromon gives Kai a look, clearly meant to have some meaning, but the lack of expressive features on the creature's face make it particularly difficult to tell what exactly he's trying to convey. "As creepy as that sounds, you don't have to worry. He's a good kid," Scout appears either to have not heard, or simply not paid attention.

Kai didn't want to impose, but he had to admit, he too was curious. "Sure, I usually hide out a bit deeper in the park so these two.. Or rather, this one, can run around without being seen." The one being Shiro, whose sister was less inclined to run around like a chicken with his head cut off. It was less important to stay hidden now that Shiro could easily be mistaken for a cat, but he did so anyways, just in case.
Kuro sighed, then repositioned from Kai's arms to being curled around his neck. It was more comfortable there, according to her, and she somehow suspected they wouldn't be leaving for a while. "I'll lead the way!" called Shiro, already bounding back into the park "Sorry about him. If you think it's a bad idea, I can run and get him before he gets too far."

"No, no, I'm all for it!" He crouches and picks up BlackKoromon, who could pass as a very convincing plush toy of some kind. Although what kind of parent would buy that for a child is beside the point. He seems less-than-thrilled to be carried, but is quite aware that he can't be seen hopping around.
Scout follows after Shiro, a smile plastered on his face. This has turned out to be a spectacular day! "So how long've you been partnered with these two?" he asks as they walk. He's proud that he manages to hang back with Kai. Usually he'd've been racing with Shiro.
However, once they get deep enough that he's sure they won't be seen, he puts BlackKoromon down. There's a pulse of light from the little blob as he re-assumes his Rookie form. "BlackKoromon digivolve to...BlackAgumon," Around four and a half feet tall, with black leather straps on his claws, and with a disproportionate head. Like a bizarrely designed tiny T-Rex.
"Ooh! My turn!" Scout smiles, hitting the button on his D-Scanner. He becomes enshrouded in a blazing red aura for a few moments, visible only as a silhouette, "Digivolve to...BigAgumon!" He looks very similar to BlackAgumon, although with dark orange skin, no leather straps, and a more fearsome appearance. Not only that, he's larger, around six and a half feet tall overall, "Told you," He tries to smile. Difficult, with that face...

Kai walked with Scout and BlackKoromon to the deeper areas of the park, where Shiro awaited. "Not long. Maybe a week or two? It's been so hectic, I've lost track. It's a miracle I've managed to make it to school, despite Shiro's best efforts. How about you, how long have you been able to..." He struggled for the word, and in the end, decided just to leave it at that.
Arriving at the forest depths, they found Shiro waiting. "Come on, come on! Show us!" "Calm down, Shiro. He's already said he'll show us, so there's no need to be rude." Looking up, he was just in time to see his new acquaintance transform.
BlackKoromon had digivolved into something rather familiar. He'd met a BlackAgumon in the park before, only during the day and attached to a tamer. The personality of the two BlackAgumon he'd met seemed very different. He didn't have much time to muse on this, as both he and his partners were still in awe of the human who transformed into a Digimon.
"Whoa," was all he could say, having to look up towards the... Whatever Scout was called. Not a tamer, at least. "You look pretty strong," Shiro conceded, "But I bet I could take you! Come on, lets fight!" Shiro, as usual, seemed impossible to phase. Before Kai could explain to the Digimon that this was not happening, Kuro did it for him. "No, Shiro. You do not pick fights with friendly people. Or people who outnumber you. Or did you think I'd back you up in this foolishness?" Kuro was not nearly as battle hungry as her brother.

"What is it you say about yourself, kid?" BlackAgumon snorts, "'I'm a lover, not a fighter',"
BigAgumon sounds somewhat embarassed as he responds, "Something like that. I don't like to fight unless I have to. We could have some friendly sparring, but I dread to think what the park would look like, afterwards," He shuffles a little, footsteps actually audible. Big guy.
"...How you've survived multiple trips to the Digital World is beyond me, Kid,"
"Oh, hush," He reverts to his human form with another flash of red, smile returning. His cheeks seem slightly flushed as well, for some reason, "In answer to your earlier question, I've had my D-Scanner for about five weeks. I keep meaning to go back to the Digital World and find the Spirit Totem for my next level totem, but...well. I get distracted easily," The boy admits.
"Something of an understatement. Don't worry so much, though, Kid. You'll get the Totems in your own time,"
"I guess so. Oh! We're being rude," He turns back to Kai, "Sorry. So, uh. What do you think?"
