The day after the dinner party, an Evans is once again on his way to Emiko and Ichirou's house. This time, with the intention of stealing their young house guest, for a night of junk food, bad anime, and bad jokes. It's around six o'clock by the time the doorbell rings.
Tomi had been alerted, of course. Takahiro had texted ahead to say that they'd come and collect him at around six-ish. And so, as one might expect from the precise, and orderly Takahiro...he's not there. When the door opens, it's just Scout, smiling as ever.

Tomomi opens the door, excited to see his friends as always, and sees Scout. He gasps lightly in his mind, Takahiro didn't come? He looks Scout and smiles back. Tomomi's heart starts to race as he stares a little. Will this feeling ever pass? "Scout?" He looks around for Takahiro a little, then back at Scout, whose just standing there smiling. Tomomi's a little happy for this, mostly because he's spent so much time with Takahiro alone, but not Scout. "Would you like to come in? Or should we head right over?" Is it weird that Tomomi wanted to hold Scout's hand on the walk? Probably.
Well, if meeting the older Evans has taught Tomomi anything, it's that Scout...probably wouldn't care if someone held his hand. Like, anyone. He's been looking forward to spending a little alone time with Tomi as well, getting to know him better without Little Hawk getting underfoot, so to speak. “Probably best if we head over, it's still a decent walk! Are you all set to go? Got your pyjamas and teddy bear?” He teases. “And don't think I've forgotten that bet, either, you!” Oh, Scout. Are you even real?
“Takahiro'll meet us at home, he had some...work that came up,”

Work? A likely excuse, Tomomi thought. Too bad Scout doesn't stumble upon his words when he isn't sure like Takahiro does. Tomomi, too distracted by the prospect of having alone time with Scout, mumbles out, "Yeah I have everything..." He looks weird for a second, "Except I don't have a teddy bear...I mean, unless that's the cool thing to have..." He looks up at Scout with an odd look, "Do you have a teddy bear? Because if you do, then I'd have to show you my teddy bear. He's like...a Mega level of teddy bears." He sees Scout start to laugh as Tomomi starts to walk ahead. "...You don't have a teddy bear, do you..." Scout didn't need to see Tomomi's face to realize how red it was.
He purposely ignored talk of the bet, as all would be answered tonight...If Tomomi didn't chicken out first.
Scout does indeed laugh, “I still have my teddy from when I was a baby. He lives on my desk, but it's not a bear, it's a T-Rex,” Of course it is, “If you have a teddy bear though, I'd love to see it. I won't make fun of you. Scout's honour,” That is an awful joke to make. Make him suffer, Tomi!
Scout puts an arm around Tomi's shoulders as they walk, quite casually, as if it's something they'd done before. Maybe touching people just makes him more at ease? It seems innocent enough, anyway, “I hope you're ready to eat a year's worth of junk food in one night,”

Tomomi looks at Scout and blushes, "Sgt. Jackson has a Sailor outfit..." He looks down as his face gets an even brighter shade of red. When Scout puts his arm around Tomomi, he gets an extreme sense of excitement. Not so much fear, as Tomomi felt extremely comfortable with Scout. His confidence must of bled over to him.
The feeling with Scout was all too familiar. Tomomi turned his head to look at Scout's face. Everything about him felt warm. Especially the arm that now enveloped him. Instead of shuttering away in fear, Tomomi takes Scouts hand and smiles warmly, "I wouldn't miss it for the world."
Scout is either the smoothest fifteen year old wandering around the city tonight, or simply oblivious to what he's doing. Still, more contact! He squeezes the hand with a smile, “A sailor outfit! That's adorable, you have to show me sometime,” And frankly, it just makes Tomomi that much cuter. Duh.
“Good. I was worried you'd be the first teenager in history we'd have to force to eat candy, pizza and ice cream,” He snorts, “and if Takahiro isn't home by the time we get there, well...we'll have to see if there any scraps left by the time he does get back,” He's joking, of course.

Tomomi tries to reply smoothly to Scout, "Only if you're lucky." That was a good one, Tomomi!
Tomomi wanted to engage Scout in some kind of conversation, but he was drawn into everything Scout said. All he could do is simply reply, for the arrow hit exactly in the right place. But hey, if Scout was going to lead this dance of words, that doesn't mean Tomomi couldn't look good doing it. "That sounds great, Scout. I'd be worried about Taka-kun missing out on everything you got for tonight..." Tomomi says as he playfully pats Scout's stomach with his free hand, "But I'd have to hold you back. I wouldn't want you to lose your physique, would I?" He laughed at himself.
Tomomi was truly living in the moment of this bliss, for it was reminiscent of his best days in Kyoto. The days spent with Jouichirou. The first person who ever feel okay to be himself. Sure, Takahiro made him feel like it was okay to be himself. But Scout activated him. He made him feel like he was living, and not just existing.
Demimeramon pranced around behind the two as he smiled to himself. He flew to the next of Scout, "I thought Tomi really liked Takahiro, but it's nothing compare to how he acts around you, Scout!" Tomomi, overcome with anxiety, stuffed Demimeramon into his bag, "What did I say about trotting around in public you little fireball?!"
Scout blinks, and stares for several long seconds. If he's lucky...? Is. Is that supposed to be...? What? “I, uh. Aaaaalright,”
Scout very much wants to engage Tomomi in some kind of meaningful conversation as well, but...he's struggling to think of a topic besides Digimon or...well. Crazy stuff. Yeah. “Oh? You'd be worried about me losing my physique, hm? Why's that?” He chuckles, “I suppose everyone needs a little eye candy,” He's joking, of course, having no idea how close he might actually be to the truth!
“Mm?” He watches as Kami is stuffed back into Tomi's bag, quirking his brow, “Liked Takahiro, hm?” That's the part he picks up on? Wonderful, “Oooh. What could he mean?” He seems to be treating the whole thing as a mildly amusing game.
“Well, Kid, probably the same w--”
Scout nudges his satchel, where the voice came from, "Quiet, you,". Seemingly BlackAgumon came along for the ride, in one form or another. Wonderful. And he's just as awful as Kami...

Tomomi takes a deep sigh. He didn't get it, Tomomi thinks as sweat-drop forms on the back of his head. Maybe it's for the best that Scout just seems to like contact, and wouldn't want anything serious from Tomomi. Maybe, just maybe, Scout didn't pick up on Tomomi's attraction to him, so that Scout didn't ruin Tomomi's chances with Takahiro. It could be that Takahiro is perfect for Tomomi, and Scout is the textbook definition of what city people call a "summer fling." Even the way Scout reacts to hearing that Tomomi has feelings for Takahiro...he seems to find it funny. Clearly, Scout finds Tomomi's admiration a joke. Tomomi's mind was trying to process all this self-doubt and blow up the balloons at his own personal pity party when he heard it.
Tomomi's ears pick up way more than Scout's do. He knew exactly what he heard, and he knew what BlackAgumon meant by that. At least...he thought he did. He wasn't sure what to think or to do. A part of Tomomi wanted to break off of Scout, deny him the satisfaction of being near him. Tomomi's feelings were not a game. At the same token, Tomomi was getting the same benefit of physical contact as Scout was. Well, instead of throwing a fit and starting the night off on a bad point, Tomomi let go of Scout's hand and put it around his hip, pulling him in closer, "I think BlackAgumon was saying the same thing that Kami was. And I don't know what to think about that, Scout." Tomomi was serious in his words, but he was a little playful as well. No pressure, Scout. Tomomi looks forward and stumbles on his words a little, "I just don't want to get hurt again." This is audible, just low. Something Tomomi may or may not have planned for Scout to hear.
None of this is Tomomi's style. He's usually super reserved, and says what is wise, not how he feels. But how can he hold back when Scout has no boundaries with him? Even more so, how can he hold back when he finally feels okay to be who he is?
“...Yeah, I think he was,” Scout looks...a little uneasy. Talking about other peoples' feelings was easy, but his own? ...Complicated. Especially recently. Things are slowly going back to normal, after the whole...'desert' incident, but... “I wish I could help you figure that out, but I guess it's something you've got to work out for yourself, Tomi,”
Although...the arm around his waist certainly helped add extra confusion to the situation. Kudos, Tomi!
“I'm sorry. I didn't mean to make light of all that, I just...I'm not used to all this. I know how I feel. Or think. ...I think I do, anyway. It's a lot easier to work out what other people are feeling, sometimes,” He admits, grateful that BlackKoromon is staying quiet for once. Hurt again? Hm. That...certainly intrigues him, but, “Look. Whatever happens, and whatever you end up...whatever'ing, you don't have to worry about me hurting you. I'd never hurt anyone in a million years,” Except all those Sangloupmon.
Whoops. Too soon?
Damn, though. Kid's got sharp ears! Not only that, but this might be the most serious conversation he's ever had!

Scout's words are never what Tomomi wants to hear. Tomomi expects Scout to turn around and say, "He's right, let me help!" and lean in for a kiss, he's always been the hopeless romantic type. Always wanting what he believes he can never find. However, there is some light to Scout's words.
The feelings aren't just in Tomomi's mind. That was what was most important. Overcome with the belief he wasn't being played, Tomomi spun Scout in such a way that Scout was pointing him, and Tomomi went in for a full hug. A strong one at that, too. What Scout said might have been simple words, but it felt true. Tomomi felt so safe in the older boy's embrace. He held the hug for a long minute, letting the energy of the situation flow between him and Scout. "Forgive me if this sounds rude..." Tomomi spoke, with a little hesitation in his voice, "But can we hold off on discussing our feelings until tonight? I think it would be best if we just cleared our heads and enjoyed each others company for a few hours first." Tomomi let out a warm smile, hoping to ensure that Scout knew he was still interested, he was simply having an information overload.
“...Okay. I can do that,” Scout looks around, momentarily lost. Oh! They're basically outside of his building... “Don't stress though,” He...does not spin the other boy around for the kiss, but does give Tomi a quick kiss on the cheek as they break their hug. More a sign of general affection than anything.
With that, he turns and heads into the building. He's about to take the stairs before he remembers that he has less athletic company with him...and so calls the elevator. Aaaaaand that's when Takahiro shows up, panting and wearing his shiny new DATS coat. Petermon is right behind him.

Tomomi feels a rush of electricity flow from his face, completely under Scout's spell. Tomomi's just happy that Scout has amused him this long. Still, it's pretty amazing...Tomomi asks to hold off on talking feelings, so Scout decides to show them and throw it in his face. He couldn't be mad, he wasn't that specific. Tomomi had to fight off every sensation and urge to pull Scout in and go for a real kiss...until he sees Takahiro.
Tomomi immediately bows and then runs up to the younger boy, giving him a hug, "Taka-kun! You look adorable in that coat!" Tomomi is excited to see his friend, but there's a terrible voice in the back of his mind, wishing that it would be just Scout and Tomomi tonight. What a terrible little thought! The three of them were going to have just an amazing time. "I'm glad you made it on time, Taka-kun, I was afraid Scout would eat everything before you got home!" He chuckled as he gave Scout a bright smile, the kind of smile you only share with certain people. It's clear Scout is on the winning side of this little tug of war, at least in Tomomi's mind.
Takahiro returns the hug, giving a small smile, “It, uh. W-wouldn't be the first time, Tomi-Sama,” he jokes. He seems oblivious. Petermon does not. He's looking between Scout and Tomomi with slightly narrowed eyes. He knows they walked in on something. Unfortunately his knowledge of the human world is quite limited. He'll have to consult others on this...
“Oh, come on, like one time,” Scout snorts, stepping into the elevator. Takahiro follows him, “besides, there's a virtual mountain of junk food in my room. More if someone remembered to order the pizza,”
“Y-yeah, yeah, I got it,” Takahiro rolls his eyes, “you're worse than mom,”
Scout returns Tomi's smile, more confused than ever. And then he realizes. Takahiro exists. He clearly likes Tomi. He needs to take Takahiro's feelings into consideration here. Naturally.
The elevator soon deposits them on the top floor, after an awkward ride up, and the two Evans boys step into the apartment, making a beeline for Scout's room. Along the way, BlackKoromon hops out of Scout's bag, and proceeds to the couch with Petermon for their own hangout. With Digibeer and blackjack! Or not.
Scout's room, assuming Tomi is still following, is almost identical in size and layout to Takahiro's. The only real differences are the carpet (blue, not red!), the walls (orange, not white!), a smaller computer, the flatscreen TV hanging opposite the bed, and...well. There's a balcony. That too.
