I CAN'T HEAAAAAR YOOOOU! [Spirit Hunt.] [Scout/Kai/Rei/Tomi]

It's quite cold.
Yup. Another brilliant observation. Scout's just glad he doesn't have to trek across the tundra to wherever his D-Scanner is trying to lead him. Nope. Just into terrifying caverns that'll likely lead to his demise.
It'd only been a few short weeks since the incident in the Desert, but...well. This was how he was choosing to try and get over it, seemingly. He'd had a ridiculous dream sequence, done a little soul searching, and come to the conclusion that he was being an idiot. He could have PTSD when he was old and useless.
Speaking of, he'd invited Kai! And somehow had invited Rei! And invited Tomi as well! Because one emotionally unstable teenager wasn't enough, he needed a small army of them. He'd explained the situation. That his D-Scanner was leading him to a new Spirit, something unusual, and that he wanted backup. It was optional to come, of course, but...well. It's not like he could take BlackAgumon, a reptile, into the freezing snow, which meant Greymon was out of the question as backup. And Takahiro was off doing...wait what was he doing?
Oh, something ridiculous, no doubt.
And unfortunately, needing his D-Scanner meant that he couldn't hide from the cold as Agunimon. Good job he'd looked into this beforehand, and told people to bring warm clothing...
“Because of course it's inside the endless, sinister caves. Does anyone have a problem with caves? Y'know. Regular ones! Not the needlessly sinister ones. I bet they have a sinister name like...the Catadooms,” Stop, “...Uh. Everyone alright?”

"Catadooms, sure." Tomomi teased cooly. Tomomi put his arms on Scout, rubbing the base of his neck and shoulders. He clearly has become way too comfortable with Scout, "Well, you can wait out here if you're afraid of the spooky cavern of condolences." After saying that, Tomomi felt a sudden chill come over him, to which Candlemon quickly suppressed. Holding in his breath, Kami made the fire on his head grow in size, which was to warm the group. Tomomi smiled, "Thanks, Kami!"
Well, if they had to go into the caverns, at least they had a talking torch! Tomomi whispered in Scout's ear, "We don't have to do this if you aren't ready yet, Scout." After hearing what happened in the desert, Tomomi didn't want Scout to feel that pain ever again.

Scout wanted Kai to come along, again. Kai couldn't believe it. Didn't Scout remember anything? Kai was useless- More than useless, in these scenarios. Was it not he who had managed to make everything so much worse? Had he not been the one to suggest that the younger boy use his last spirit? The one that he couldn't control? Both of them had been passed out for a while after, and Rei and BlackAgumon had had to carry them back out. He was convinced that he shouldn't go.
So what the heck was he doing here! There he was, in the freezing cold, Kuro around his neck. Scout had another young boy with him, some other friend of his, Kai supposed. What was he even doing there. On the bright side, there was some warmth radiating from the young boy's partner, a Digimon that looked like a candle. Kai wouldn't be freezing half to death this time- He hoped, at least. "More than alright! Let's go already!" Shiro said excitedly! Kai was amazed he hadn't already dashed into the caverns, like last time.
Kai just kinda stood there awkwardly. Whatever was going on between the other two boys... He felt rather like a third wheel. He knew he shouldn't have come. Not like he would be of any use, anyways.

Back in this place again....
Rei sighed, memories of fighting that Hyogamon coming back to haunt her...which lead to the SkullyGreymon and her black out.
So much from trying to stay on the sidelines.
The girl hadn't really meant to come back to the Digital World so soon...but when she went to go check up on Kai and Scout, she somehow got herself dragged into an invitation. The teenager had felt guilty about last time...and well, as much as she wanted to, she couldn't refuse without telling them what happened as Flawizarmon. Silly considering they were relying on her for that Spirit! Though...it didn't seem like a problem. Whatever had happened last time, actually helped. From what Rei could gather anyways.
What surprised her, however - or really didn't surprise her- was the close proximetey of Scout and his new friend. Perhaps she was overthinking it.. but who knew that Scout swung that way? It was blatantly obvious that...Tomomi? -was that right?- was being all touchy feely like a boyfriend. She knew Scout was a touchy person, so he wouldn't be bothered about it of course....Rei slyly grinned at this new prospect. She didn't want to assume quite yet.
More investigating had to be done first!
And somehow that put her in a better mood. Typical.
"Eh, last time hadn't been so fun," She shrugged to the hyperactive question. "But so far so good!" Rei wickedly smiled with a wink towards Scout, hopping ahead despite her limp. Of course the cold didn't really bother her, but Tomomi's partner -Candlemon- sure looked handy!

Scout gives a little smile and pats Tomomi on the hand to let him know he's okay, before stepping away from the hands on him. He looks down at the D-Scanner again. Yup. Arrow's definitely leading them deeper into the caves. Something in there is drawing him in, and maybe this'll be something they can get through without a fight!
Ahahaha. Good one, Scout.
“Did I introduce you guys? Rei, Kai, Tomomi. Okay, there we go,” Scout gives a slightly wider smile at that. He still isn't quite back to where he was a few weeks ago, but he's...certainly far less mopey than he was. “Come on!”
And with that, he starts into the tunnels at a solid power walk, eyes primarily locked on his D-Scanner. Leeeft. Then riiiiight. Where the heck is this thing taking him? Maybe it's broken...? But he used it earlier, and it's not like it's ever led him down the wrong path before.
"...I really need like, a car or something..."

Tomomi laughs lightly at Scout's abrupt introduction. He bows to the group,
"Pleased to meet you both. This is my partner, Kami. He's a Candlemon." In case they were oblivious to the candle digimon keeping them warm. Smooth one, Tomomi. Upon quick examination of the group, Tomomi sees that Kai is more than likely a Tamer, like himself, while Rei is a Spirit User, like Scout. What an interesting little team the four form. Unlike them, Tomomi was not involved in the Skullgreymon incident, however he did find out about it the night before. They all seem shaken up about it still. He attempts to lighten the air,
"Regardless of what happens, at least we'll be slightly warmer with Kami, right?" He says as he lets out a shy smile. Scout's friends are just his future friends...hopefully.
After Tomomi's attempt at a joke, he looks to see that pretty much the group already went into the cave, including his partner! He dashes in to keep up with them, "OI! Don't leave me alone in the cold!!" Thankfully, Tomomi caught up to the group with no incident.

"Nice to meet you too, Tomomi." Kai said politely, with a nod to the young boy. Kuro made a similar head movement. Shiro, on the other hand, was bouncing in front of the cave entrance. "Let's go, let's go!" He bubbled excitedly, ready for adventure! After all, unlike the rest of the group... Shiro's experience with these caves had been mostly good! He had Digivolved, he had fought... Sure, Kai passed out, but that wasn't really important!
Without waiting for the group, the white cat-like Digimon excitedly bounded into the cave. Oh dear. Unlike Scout, the white Digimon did not have a nifty device to show him the path through these winding tunnels. Somehow, though, he managed to follow the same path that Scout, immediately behind him, was taking. Kai followed the others into the cave, Kuro securely around his neck. On the bright side, the cave was much more bearable than the cold outside. And it was true that the Digimon named Kami was keeping them warm. Small blessings. Kai still felt rather too awkward to say anything, and Kuro was just naturally quiet.
At the front of the group, Shiro was excitedly humming. He wasn't very good at it, but he was clearly excited.

Ah she was right!
Rei gleefully clapped Tomomi on the shoulder, leaning forward probably much too close for a normal greeting. "It is very nice to meet you!" Gonna scare the poor kid off Rei! She was just too enthusiastic about the developing event. It probably was weird to see her act this way, but when it got to romantic things, she was pretty much gunhoe... as long as it didn't involve her. "Nice to meet you too, Kami!" She hummed happily and let go, catching up to stride next to Scout as he led them through the caverns. I should be more settle next time...She realized, and resolved in being so.
As usual, Shiro ran up ahead, and Rei warily watched him. The last time he did that...No, he was being more careful this time. She could tell. As long as they didn't get separated...
The Spirit user fell back a bit to walk besides the silent Kai; when they traveled further into the caves. The sudden tension emitted from her in nervous waves. Despite her excitement, and Tomomi's attempts, it didn't seem to help when it came down to it. All of that just quickly disappeared. Suddenly it started to feel stuffy, and Rei took off her coat, wrapping it around her waist instead. Which probably didn't help the case that she might just be crazy! It was still freezing cold! But eh, it wouldn't take too long till she decided to put it back on. Her nervousness was just killing her currently!
"I hope we don't have to travel too far through here..." Rei voiced quietly to herself, breaking the silence.

Scout glances back at Rei as she mumbles something he can't quite here. Weird girl, but she seems nice enough. And...Shiro seems to be doing a remarkably good job of predicting where his D-Scanner is about to take them. Ugh. Is he humming?
...He is, but that isn't the sound he's picking up on. “Can you guys hear that?” He frowns, pausing for a moment and straining his ears, “...Like...a rock concert?” There is no sound that even closely resembles that. Mostly Shiro and their footsteps on the cavern floor.
Oh, good. The crazy SkullGreymon guy is hearing things nobody else is. That can only be good, right? Scout then starts to sprint towards...whatever the hell it is he's hearing, ignoring the compass of his D-Scanner for the moment (although conveniently, it's pointing them in the same direction anyway).
He leads them into...a naturally occurring stage. Yeah, really. A large, cavernous chamber with two large staircases leading up to what looks like a large, raised platform at the far end of the room. This is all very...weird.

Tomomi becomes stiff as a board with the physical contact from Rei. Are all city-dwellers like this, he thinks to himself. Tomomi politely smiles to Rei, hoping he didn't offend her. After all, physical contact was only strange to probably him....Scout and even Takahiro are big fans of hugs.
Scout's words cause anxiety with Tomomi. The whole Skullgreymon incident must have really done some serious damage. Tomomi was aware that this cavern was bound to bring more memories back...some that Scout didn't want to remember, surely. Tomomi wanted to give Scout a reassuring hug, but then he ran off. So naturally, Tomomi was compelled to try and catch up. When he finally makes it up to Scout, he replies to him, "Scout...I didn't...hygh...hear anything." Tomomi is leaning down, trying to catch his breath. Of course he wasn't athletic as Scout...anyone surprised? When he finally looks up, he is confused by what he sees. A stage, and Scout heard music? That's too much of a coincidence.
"Scout...this may be a long-shot...but is there a chance that you heard the totem?" From what Tomomi gathered, the spirits spoke to their users...and not really anyone else. Tomomi really hopes this is the case, otherwise it's time to find Scout some help from someone other than a teenager.

"I hear nothing." Kuro supplied. "Nope." Kai confirmed. Shiro didn't care... Until Scout started running off! A race! A race! The white Digimon took off in a headlong dash straight in the directions Scout had gone. Kai looked at Rei, then to Tomomi, and shrugged, before running off after the two who had a head start. Thanks be to track and field! How else could he keep up with Scout and Shiro.
The run ended in front of... A stage? So Scout hadn't been imagining things? Or he had, but it... Well, let's just chalk it up to Digital World weirdness. Tomomi's suggestion seemed accurate. Yet again, a young boy had a much firmer grasp of the basics of the Digital World than Kai. Just like everyone else in the world, it felt. Alright... Then, where is it?" Kai didn't even mention the lack of a guardian. He remembered what happened last time he did that.

Nah, she hadn't been offended. She knew that she had been a bit out of bounds, so it was all good to her!
Then before realizing it, everyone ran off on Rei! Fear spiked through her. This was just like last time! Trembling she shouted, "WAIT!", sprinting after and the last one to arrive at the open arena of the stage. "Please..don't do that again." She huffed, catching her breath. And why was everyone saying that? She missed what Scout said in the first place, distracted by her own thoughts.
The teenager straightened on high alert. Ah. The totem. So it was here then, huh? What an odd...set up. An idea came to mind, if she learned anything from her first experience. "How about you try standing on the...stage, Scout? My first totem did come from the mouth of a frozen Dragon-er digimon dragon. Maybe its the same concept?" Her second one wasn't as grandeur. Perhaps that had something to do with line of digivolution? The stronger ones in more hidden places? Actually Scout would probably know better than her! He's been at this longer after all, and she began to feel foolish for voicing it.
Though the quicker he got his totem, the quicker they could get out of here before something decided to show up.
Just don't say it, or you'll jinx it again.

“Alright, you guys stay down here and tell me how awesome I look,” Scout offers a smile, before starting up the naturally occuring staircase to the naturally occuring...stage. Of course. There's nothing weird about this at all, is there? Right. He steps up onto the stage, a mere fifteen feet above his...allies? Friends? ...Entourage. And of course, the silence lasts all of ten seconds before he steps on a hidden pressure plate. Or maybe Kai did? It was probably Kai. He's not as good as Renji after all. What? Oh. There's a loud klaxon-like sound, followed by the ground beginning to rumble. Whilst that may seem ominous, it makes very little sense as whatever it is that comes into the chamber is airborn. A half dozen or so creatures. Large, with four limbs, a tail, wings, and a lovely, reptilian black hide. Devidramon! They...do not look happy, and start diving at the assorted individuals. Other than Scout, oddly. Plot armor? Scout facepalms, literally, and then pulls up his D-Scanner, “Charge and Up! Digivolve to...No?” There's no flash of light, or anything. The compass is still pointing at the wall behind him, at the back of the stage. Well. Let's investigate that shall we?

Well, well, well...Someone stepped on a trap! Tomomi looks down, Nope! Wasn't me, he thought to himself. Good, he didn't want to be responsible for..."Oh..."
Tomomi sees the Devidramon start to fly down. "Kami, are you ready?" He says as he grips his D-3 tightly. "Always, Tomi! LET'S KICK BAD GUY BUTT!" the Candlemon replies, ever so eager to jump in the fray.
"Digimental up!!!" Tomomi shouts as a glow emits from his digivice, as Candlemon is covered in flames.
"Candlemon armor digivolve to..."
Larger flames envelop the Candlemon as he grows in size. The light and flames disperse to reveal a lizard made of fire, with a single metal plate as a helmet. "Flarerizamon!" The towering digimon stood in front of Tomi to block the wave of dark dragons descending upon them. Flarerizamon bares his claws of iron to swing up at the incoming Devidramon, "Dramon Claw!" he shouts as he spins forward and strikes at the dragons. Normally, this is one of Flarerizamon's most basic attacks, however his claws are especially effective against dramon digimon. If the attack lands it will do more damage than usual!
Tomomi holds his ground, cheering on Flarerizamon, "You can do it, Kami! Hit 'em where it counts!" Ever since Tomomi received the Digiegg of Courage, he's really shown it whenever the two fight.

Not good! Not good! As Scout stepped onto the stage, at Rei's request... A horde of large, black creatures swooped down! Come on! Nobody had even commented on the lack of a guardian, this time! But they weren't the only ones going on the offensive- Shiro had leapt towards the closest one, despite the whole being roughly five percent of its size. "Twin Digivolution," Kai called, almost reflexively, raising his Digivice as Kuro leapt from his shoulders.
"KoShiromon Digivolve to..." "KoKuromon Digivolve to..."
What collided with Devidramon in midair was not by any means small. Ten feet tall, and longer besides, the White Digimon took on somewhat of the appearance of a lion. "SHIROMON!" His pair of tiny wings beat alongside those of the flying beast... As if that would keep them aloft. But in the end, the weight of the freshly digivolved combatant dragged them both straight to the ground. In the ensuing tussle, Shiro came out on top, standing on top of the flying Digimon and holding it down with a paw. The other paw... Was raised high, and as it came down to slash along the monster's back, he shouted "Heavy Claw!"
Kuro, meanwhile, took it upon herself to protect the two defenseless humans. "Heavy Blast," she stated, as she twisted to fire an orb of black energy at one of the incoming foes. It was not a powerful blast... But it should be enough to make it change course, away from the weak humans. She had let Kai get hurt in one too many battles already. She would not let it happen again. Shiro could handle himself, Rei probably could to. She didn't know about... Flarerizamon, but he seemed competent. It was just the human Tamers who needed protection.
