It was early in the afternoon in the Residential District of Shibuya. All around people could be seen living their daily lives despite the cold winter air. A fit looking woman jogging down the street, a group of kids enjoying their day off, and some one rushing to their car as they appeared to be late for something important were just some of the sights one can see. Yet despite how normal everything appeared to be, there was also a sense of tension in the air.
It wasn't hard to see why either as one passes by one of the many walls now plastered by a number of missing posters. Several young girls have gone missing these past few months, and it has many parents rightfully concern. Rumors of the cause go all the way from there being a serial killer on the loose to them being abducted by some cult. Yet nobody knows anything for certain.
It was this very problem that a young boy was thinking about as he sat alone right outside a cafe. As he sat there, taking a small sip from his warm drink, he occasionally look around, almost as if he's waiting for someone, or someones, to show up. He knew full well that he had set this meeting up on very short notice, but he really didn't knew what else to do. Hopefully at least one of the people he invited will show up to help solve his problem.

When Kai had first received the text message, he had hoped it was a prank. At the same time... He knew it wasn't. It mentioned Digimon, after all. Digimon was a fairly serious thing to mention. Not a prank, then. He sighed. There was no way he was appropriate for this. A heavily injured tamer, fresh from several weeks in the hospital... His arm and ribs were still broken! What good would a boy with one arm be? Before... He had been one of the most athletic people in the school, well trained as a result of the numerous sports he played. Now? Now, it hurt him to breath. Having a fang sink into your lung tended to do that to you.
Fortunately, he had managed to plead 'trauma' and escape having to explain what had happened. Still... The city was fairly alarmed, after what seemed to them to be a vicious attack on a high schooler by an unidentified savage beast. And he may have been partially responsible for the chaos in Terminus City caused by the return of Giygas. It seemed he was just causing a lot of trouble, lately. Seriously, he shouldn't even think about trying to do this.
So what was he doing here? Kai stared at the Silver Cafe. Kuro and Shiro, his twin Digimon partners, bustled about in his school bag, slung over the shoulder of his good arm- his right arm. It was almost noon, the meeting time in the text. Was he supposed to go inside? It was hard to imagine that the young boy, the sole person outside the cafe, was the one who had called him. Had he been the only one summoned here? Maybe. He tentatively pushed open the door to the cafe. Maybe once inside, the person who had texted would be more obvious.

Tomomi, despite every attempt, couldn't find any information on this mysterious text. He knew, however, that he had to help. This would be a start to fixing things. There were so many things that have went wrong because of what happened to Kai. The guilt was building up inside of him. Tomomi was trying to be better. He even talked to Scout this morning! Of course, he didn't explain all the guilt he was feeling, why he didn't want to see Scout. Obvious reason, he'd rather die alone than watch someone close to him again. These thoughts were clear as he walked into the cafe.
"...Kai." Tomomi said quietly as he saw the boy. Well, this means he wasn't alone in that text. Tomomi wanted to run. But if Kai is fighting with a broken body, it was Tomomi's honor and promise that kept him from running. The fact of the matter is that regardless if he is there or not, Kai would still be putting himself in danger. "Did you get the text message as well?" There was no how are you feeling, or apologies said, it was just keep him in the past.

BAM!
Scout comes of of nowhere as he often does, with a smile plastered across his face. "Kai! Tomi-Chan!" D'aww. Looks like he got the message too. Or installed tracking devices in the other two boys. Anything's possible. "What's up, guys? Did you both get that message too?"
Wow! A mysterious job to carry out, and he gets to do it with some of his favorite people?! Awesome!

That text had been worrisome.
So of course Rei couldn't but help to come at its beck and call. She couldn't trace it back to anyone, and at first had thought it may be some kind of prank. But who would prank about Digimon? The girl sighed. This was all more trouble she shoudln't get herself involved in. But standing on the sidelines hadn't worked out so well before either. And again, she was worried about this mysterious person.
She turned the corner.
What she didn't expect were the other three, especially Kai, ready to proceed into the Cafe that was the designated meet up. "What are you guys doing here?" Rei inquired in disbelief. "Don't tell me you all got the same text too..." However you looked at it, that could be the only answer. Whoever this person was, knew about them. How? She didn't know. Their Intel was quite frightening.

The young looking boy looked over as he saw the small group began to gather. He almost couldn't believe it. They actually came. The boy nearly dropped his cell phone in his excitement as he sent Kai another text.
Nice to see that you all have shown up. I'm the one who sitting outside by himself.
Unlike the last text he sent them however, this one actually had a sender. Someone named Tadashi. The boy would then wave them over. He might find out what happened to her yet.

"Huh!? Oh, ye-" Kai had been responding to Tomomi... When Scout appeared out of nowhere! and then whoom, Rei was there too. "You guys, too?" Wow, all that was left was for Maia Quinn to show up, and he'd just assume that their mystery texter had been spying on his hospital room... Actually, that was a terrifyingly real possibility. It didn't really matter though. He let the door swing shut without actually going inside. "Wow, I haven't seen you guys since I was allowed out of the hospital! What a coincidence, huh?"
Just then, his phone buzzed.
Worming it out, not quite as easy with only one hand, Kai wondered who had texted him... And the other three, by the looks and sounds of it. Maybe their mystery texter? A quick glance later, he turned to the young boy near their group. Err... We're right here. No need to send more texts... err, Tadashi. Anyways, I'm Kai. So... What is it you've called us out here for?" The boy probably already knew their names. He knew they dealt with Digimon, after all. Still, introductions were polite.

Tomomi was suprised at how nice and polite Kai was to him, especially since all of the damage he's recovering from is completely his fault. Tomomi looks at Scout, and for a second, all the pain and guilt he's been feeling since Kai's attack has dispersed. Scout called Tomomi by his nickname! Tomomi assumes he is not hated for what he did, which makes him incredibly happy to see Scout. He runs over to Scout and gives him a huge hug, "I missed you, Scout! I'm doing okay, how are you?"
The pain came back to him once he watched Kai struggle to get his phone out. The guilt really overcame him, he felt so terrible and helpless. But then Kai gave them some extra information on their mystery texter. Tomomi walks over to the table and bows fully, "My name is Tomomi Nakamura, pleased to meet you!"

"I'm okay," Scout returns the hug. He's glad to see Tomomi of course (the others too), but he's more interested on exactly what brought them all together today. Fortunately Kai seems to know what's going on first, as usual. "I missed you too, Tomi,"
Ah! Mystery Texter! Scout decides to bow like the others rather than hugging the boy. Pssh. What a silly way to greet someone, "Scout Evans! Nice to meet you, guy!" This is still all still pretty weird, but...well. He's using his D-Scanner again! So he doesn't feel particularly vulnerable.
If he felt any more awesome, he'd be flexing right now.

((Sorry for the extended wait. I wanted to give Rei a chance to post, but now it's been a week and I got to get this moving. So, seeing as we're still in the beginning of this mission and all, for right now we should act as if Rei never showed up at all.))
The boy nodded as each of them introduced themselves. "Nice to meet you all. As your injured friend just said, I'm Tadashi." He informed them as he motioned for them to take a seat. Once they all have (or have refused), he began.
"Now then. I guess I should first apologize to you all for getting in contact with you in the way I did. I hate to admit it, but I'm in a pretty desperate situation. As you may have heard. There's been a number of disappearances that happened around here recently. Amoung the missing is my tamer. So as you might guess, I wish for you to try to find her for me.
"I'm willing to pay of course, and will assist in whatever way possible. I just wish to have her found."

There was a lot of information to take in, and not a lot of time to do so in. Okay, so Tadashii, had said, 'my tamer,' which meant that... He was a Digimon. Presumably wearing one of those holosuit things Kai had seen in the Terminus mall. Kuro and Shiro had declined the offer... And since they fit in his bag so easily, Kai had not insisted on buying a pair. And his tamer was missing, along with a great deal of other people. It made sense why he had contacted them, then- Though, "Why us? Wouldn't it be better to go to DATS with this?" DATS was very official, and far more influential than three teenagers. One of whom had a broken arm!
Still, he knew Scout. And knew that Scout would never turn down this offer, not in a million years. And Tomi would probably go along with him. Kai... Didn't feel right, letting the two younger kids do something that could so easily be dangerous. They didn't even know what they were up against! "I'm in. Just tell us everything you know about what happened. Spare no details, no matter how insignificant it seems." Kai had never found a missing person before. Nor had he watched a crime TV show that would cover how to go about doing such a thing. But it seemed that even if they didn't know what they were up against, they should at least know where to look.

Oho....He was a digimon?! Tomomi's mind wandered, trying to figure out which digimon he was. His mind snapped back to reality pretty quickly, "I'd be more than happy to help!" Tomomi replied as quickly as he could. Maybe, just maybe, if he wasn't so hot-headed in fighting and just did the best he could, Scout wouldn't think so lowly of him again. Who knows? Scout seemed to seem past it, already.
Tomomi overheard what Kai said and just nodded in agreement. He'll ask questions based on what the digimon-in-boy's clothing had to say.

Scout smiles, nodding and immediately throwing in with this insane quest, "Of course! Anything I can do to help you!" He leans in to listen carefully (for a change), not wanting to miss any details. He's never tried being a detective, but it could be fun! And more importantly, he'll be helping someone out, and that...that pretty much sums up his goal in everyday life. Helping people.
So yeah, this was a no-brainer. He's a little confused about the Digimon-Human though. Although...maybe some of them could disguise themselves? Petermon looked pretty human. And hadn't he seen something about holographic projectors in Terminus City?
It was hard to recall things when you were on a perpetual sugar high.

Tadashi seemed quite relieved to hear that they would all like to help. They did seem to have their own questions on the matter, but Tadashi didn't mind for a bit. He was willing to do just about anything to find his tamer. So answering their questions seems like the least he could do.
"Well to be quite honest. I believe DATS would be to loud for a mission like this. I suspect that a digimon is the one to blame for all these disappearances, and I fear he may end up going into hiding, ensuring that we never find out what truly has happened until it's far to late. A couple of freelance kids such as yourselves on the other hand would most likely not scare this bastard if he finds out about you. Oh uhh... Pardon my language.
...There's also the fact that I may have hacked into DATS database a little to find people who will be able to help me." Tadashi said this last part kind of sheepishly. He doesn't actually know much about these kids, and if one of them were in fact in DATS, he could be in serious trouble for doing something like that.
"Now I guess I should start from the beginning. It all started a few weeks ago when Suki, my tamer, was away from home far more often then she used too. Her parents still don't know about digimon, so I always use to visit her house after school so we can hang out without catching her parents suspicion. Yet one day her parents told me that she had already left to go play with some of her friends. Admittedly, I guess it wasn't to odd for a girl her age to do something like that, but she always waited to meet up with me before doing so.
This began spiraling into a chain where she was home less and less often. Apparently she had been skipping classes too. Whenever I was able to meet her, she would just change the subject without answering my questions. It got to a point where I started to following her around without her knowing. To find out what exactly she was doing. Whenever I did though, I would sense another digimon's presence, and she would run off towards it. Before I was able to catch up to her though, she would disappear without a trace. I wouldn't be able to find hide nor tail of her til a few hours later when I find her going home.
I tried my best to keep up with her the next, and then the next time, but I was never able to make it there in time. The last time she disappeared was a few days ago, and she still has not come back. I fear what may have happened to her. So please. Find her, and if... If she's still alive, bring her back home." The disguised digimon pleaded to the group.

Well... There wasn't much to go on. Why was he so useless! There was a person whose life was in danger! Someone who needed help! If it wasn't already too late. Think, Kai, Think! Why was he so useless! Come on, there had to be some thing he could do! Okay, what did they know. Multiple missing persons, including Tadashi's partner. She had been vanishing suddenly, and a Digimon had been sensed in the area. Okay, so there was a good chance it wasn't just a pervert. But what did a Digimon want with little girls? And more importantly... How could they find him?
"Can you tell us where she was each time she disappeared? Better yet, could you mark the spots where she vanished on a map, if we brought you one?" Triangulation. They only had one victim... But since she vanished multiple times, they had multiple points of reference. Kai... Wasn't sure he had the knowledge necessary to extrapolate a precise location for finding her, but... It would at least give them an idea of where to start looking.
