Well. This was certainly a fine kettle of fish. John was frozen in place from the overwhelming anxiousness he was currently feeling. His secret was out. But, it looked like Itsuki was also keeping a secret from him. John's body relaxed a bit, now. "I'm so sorry, Itsuki." He said in an apologetic tone. "I...I found this egg while I was out in the forest when I met that girl and her rabbit, well...It wasn't a rabbit. It was a creature called a Digimon."
John sighed and ran a hand through his hair. "These creatures are also Digimon. I shouldn't have kept this a secret. I was afraid you would kick me out. And I couldn't just leave the egg to fend for itself...This Digimon, it chose me." He looked down to his Botamon, and began to stroke the top of it's head.
"The reason I was so secretive, on top of the no pets rule you have, I was afraid that people would end up finding out about Casimeir here. And I was told by my new friends that if people end up discovering Digimon, they could be taken away. I wouldn't want to lose Cas, here." The Botamon purred softly while John stroked the top of his head. "But it looks like we both got our eggs around the same time frame, huh?" John looked to Itsuki's own Digimon, noting how it looked like a cross between a baby lion and a sunflower. "That little guy's pretty cute. Did you give it a name?"

Itsuki waved one hand in front of herself, waving away John's apology, the other hand still holding the small creature. "No, no. Don't apologize. I ended up doing the same thing. Finding an egg and keeping it without saying anything after it hatched." She put her hand behind her head. "To be honest, I never even thought of the egg hatching as becoming a pet until I started to think about feeding it. Eheheh...." Itsuki laughed nervously.
She listened as John explained what these creatures, these Digimon, were and why he had felt the need to keep it a secret. She nodded as she listened. "I understand. I couldn't abandon this little one either. I guess it chose me too." She couldnt help but smile at the creature, no, at the Digimon in her arms as she said that. She tilted her head when he asked about a name. "Actually, I hadn't thought of one..." She thought about it. "Do Digimon have different species, like cats and dogs, or are they all called Digimon?" She asked.
"Po! Po po!" The yellow tanpopo Digimon in her arms squirmed and jumped down. It hopped out of the kitchen and to her bedroom. "Ah! Wait, where are you going?" Itsuki called out, following. The small, yellow Digimon hopped on her chair then onto her desk. It knocked a towel off of the corner of her desk. "Hey, why did you do th-" Itsuki stopped when she saw a small, oval shaped device on her desk where she had put the towel. It was yellow with red grips and a red button in the middle. She picked it up and as soon as she did, there was a flash of light, then another device was in her hand. It looked like a tiny laptop. She walked back to the kitchen, the yellow Digimon hopping along behind her.
When they came back to John, the small creature hid behind her legs, eyeing the black bonbon like one, Cashmere, nervously. "Do you know what this is?" She asked him, holding the two devices out to show him. She pushed the button on the small silver one with a blue D on the lid and it opened up. The screen came to life and there was what looked like a encyclopedia book icon. Curious, she clicked that. A small, colored 8-bit version of the Digimon that had hatched from her egg came up. Words appeared underneath. She read it out loud. "Popomon. A Slime type Fresh level Digimon that looks like a species of plant. It skillfully uses it's tail, which looks like a leaf, and it moves by jumping. It's special attack is 'Hair Mist'." She looked at the Digimon. "So you're a Popomon huh? I know it says you are kinda like a plant, but you look more feline to me. I think I'll call you...." She paused thinking back to a childhood show of hers and nodded. "Kion. It means leader. I feel like you'll lead me on all sorts of adventures." She smiled at Kion, who hopped happily. "Po po po!"

John nodded in response to Itsuki when he asked if he knew what the devices were. Although, he was not sure what the tiny laptop-like device was. He waited for Itsuki to finish speaking to her Popomon. "Well," John began, "the device that just read you the information about your Popomon is called a Digivice. But..." He scratched the back of his neck. "I haven't seen the other device before."
The Botamon that John held observed the newly-dubbed Kion with an innocent interest. "Bo?" He would coo in an attempt to let Kion know that he was nothing to be afraid of. In response to this, John scratched behind Casimeir's ears. "You're eager to be friends with him, huh little guy? Okay, just don't try not to frighten him, okay?" John gently set Casimeir down onto the floor. The Botamon proceeded to hop forward a bit, and remained still. "Bo, bo!" The poor little guy was so desperate to make a new friend!
Not really paying attention to his Botamon, John fished out his own Digivice from his pocket. "That's strange. How did you get a different device? I only received the Digivice when I got my egg." He pressed a few buttons on his Digivice now, trying to figure out what Itsuki's second contraption was.
Before another thought could cross his mind, his device's screen lit up. "D-Terminal delivery in progress." The device spoke. A bar on the bottom of the screen filled up from left go right. This indicated that a download of sorts was running on the Digivice. The bar was now filled. A bright sky-blue energy appeared in John's open left hand, then disipated, revealing a device exactly like Itsuki's. He held the new appliance up to look at it. "Huh. Well, I guess both questions have been answered. I guess this thing is called a D-Terminal."

"A Digivice, huh?" Itsuki looked at the device in her hand and clipped it onto her pants pocket. "It looks different from yours. Is that because our Digimon are different too?" She tilted her head.
Kion fluffed out when the Botamon was put on the ground in front of him. When Casimier hopped forward, Kion moved back slightly, still very nervous to be around someone other than his Tamer. He watched Casimier carefully and inched forward slowly. "Po...po po." Kion said in a sort of greeting manner. He was still being cautious of this other Digimon, just a bit friendlier.
Itsuki looked over at her partner and smiled. It was good that he was trying to make a friend, even if it was a little slower than maybe the Botamon wanted. She looked back at John as he was asking how she got a second device and was pushing buttons on his Digivice. She was about to answer that she had no idea, when his Digivice spoke about a delivery and suddenly there was a D-Terminal in his hand as well. "Well... That was....different. Mine was just on the desk next to my Digivice. Yours showed up out of thin air." Itsuki chuckled a little.
Kion leaned against his Tamers leg, having almost reached his limit with new Digimon/people. Itsuki leaned down and pet his head, calming him down. She then looked back a John. "You said you met another person who had a Digimon earlier? Are there a lot more with Digimon then? Do we have to go somewhere to register them?" Itsuki was curious as to how they were supposed to proceed from here.

Casimeir became a tad disheartened when Kion acted so timidly. Still, at least he had managed to let Kion know that he was nothing to be afraid of. Even though he was just born that day, he had some level of intelligence. Perhaps it was instinct, or an aptitude of deciphering the nature or emotions of other Digimon. Seeing that Casimeir was finished attempting to make a new friend, John gently hoisted the baby Botamon back up into a cradle.
"I'm not sure why our Digivices are different in color." John answered to his housemate. "And yes, as it turns out, there are countless more Digimon. But I'm not really sure if there's an actual way to register them. If there was, I'm sure that my friend Maia would have mentioned it already."
