Making her way along the empty streets of the entertainment district towards the back allies was Hikari. Dressed in a full proof disguise, and actually one that would work, she carries a large egg in her arms, the device she had found in her pocket.
But let's back track a bit.
Having been spending the day alone, Hikari had been treated to an egg falling from the sky and nearly cracking open had she not caught it the right way. Unfortunately the device had left a mark on her forehead that was now being hidden by her bangs.
Determined to get it somewhere where it could be looked after properly, this was Hikari's current mission. Unfortunately, she would run into some difficulty along the way...

The Entertainment District had been left in shambles. People rarely passed through its streets anymore, other than occasional sweeps from the authorities to chase out loiterers and trespassers. This made it the perfect place for the brothers to try and practice their new spirit forms in relative anonymity. They stood in a back alley of the once-amazing district, Digivices held high as they looked at each other.
"Ready?" Elliot asked, the V on the back of his Digivice softly pulsing.
"Ready." Isaac replied, the grinning face on his Digivice doing the same. "Alright, quickly, think of pizza toppings!"
Elliot liked Hawaiian. Isaac couldn't stand it. Neither brother would even consider budging on the matter. What better way to keep their minds out of sync than to focus on that fact? The two brothers were both enveloped in white light, and when their vision returned to them they were each in a different Digimon form.
"Ha! It worked! We're still separate!" Isaac, now an Impmon, cheered. Elliot, now a Veemon, simply took the time to appreciate being able to walk unassisted. If it meant he didn't need a walking stick anymore, maybe he could get used to this whole Spirit User thing.
"We should turn back now, though. Before anyone sees us like this," Elliot warned. Sure, the sudden flashes of light would have likely already caught the attention of any onlookers. Elliot didn't want to risk it, though. The sooner he transforms back, the better.
"Aw, I was hoping to take these forms out for a test spin. But fine. Turn back, now!" Isaac called, maybe a bit too loudly. The two Digimon slowly floated into the air, once more enveloped in light.
It'd really suck if somebody caught them like this, wouldn't it?

Too late.
They had been caught.
Staring in confusion at the two small creatures before her. Unlike most people, Hikari was used to the crazy and all that due to her job as a idol and actress. Still... she couldn't deny they were...
"Oh goodness! You guys are so cute!" She chirps, soon moving closer for a better look. Bright caramel eyes watching them, a soft, almost cat-like smile appears on her features.
"What're your names?"

Oh, crapbaskets.
With their focus splintered, the de-digivolution failed on them. The Impmon and Veemon fell to the floor, disappointed in their lack of successful transformation. Of course, now priority was finding the interloper who snooped in on them. They turned around, still a little dazed from the aborted digivolution process, only to notice a girl in heavy clothing looking down at them.
Was it okay for her to see them like this? Kind of too late to ask. Besides, Isaac sure as heck had no problem with anyone calling him cute!
"Heh, thanks. I am Isaac."
"And my name is Elliot. It is very nice to meet you!"
"So, what is your name?"

"So cute!" She coos, moving closer to the two of them. Holding the egg tightly to her, she moves to pet each of their heads one by one. Once she's done, a soft smile lights her features.
"Hikari. Hikari Hanamura." Her fans didn't know her real name, thinking it was something else entirely -- so she had no problem with introducing herself as such. That being said, she couldn't deny they were strange creatures... but new species were found every day, so who was she to judge?
"Are you two lost? I know this side of town well enough. Let me know, and i'll guide you to where you need to go!"

The two couldn't help but blush a little at being pet on the head like that. It was equal parts shyness at the contact, and embarrassment at the fact that they were being treated like a bunch of tiny animals. Sure, that may have been how they looked right now, but that didn't make it any less difficult to get used to.
Now, her next suggestion? That was a bit more worrying. As much as being in this strange ruin of an entertainment district was unsettling, they figured people's reactions to their Digimon forms would be even more unsettling.
"We are fine here, but thank you very much for offering!"
Isaac looked slightly pensive at the girl's question. Come to think of it, he wasn't even sure what he was doing here. The heavy outfit made her look like she was trying her hardest to blend in, and she was merrily walking around the ruins of the Entertainment District like she owned to place. Was she a kidnapper or something? While Elliot's guard was still lowered, the Impmon now seemed a good deal more cautious.
"What brings you here, though?"

Unaware of their worries, the girl pulls back completely and simply smiles. "Me? Oh... mm..." A thoughtful look appears on her features. "I like coming here. That's all." She shrugs, refusing to let her smile leave her features.
"Though... I admit it's kind of odd to see people here at all." She gives a nervous laugh, holding the egg tighter to her.
"With how it was destroyed..." A sad smile replaces her once cheerful one, though only for a split second. Watching the two once more, she offers a small shrug. "I suppose I should be headed home, but honestly, it's a nice day out, so what's the rush in going home anyway?"

Elliot wasn't exactly the most attentive person in the universe, but even he could notice the nervousness in her laugh as she mentioned the destruction of the Entertainment District. He looked up at her, voice somewhat nervous and worried as he began to speak. "Miss? Are you okay?" he asked.
She was right. It really was odd of them to be here. Still, this was really their one chance of testing these powers out in a nice, controlled environment. The Digital World seemed even more crowded than the human world, and the presence of outside elements there always attracted trouble. Maybe that process worked both ways? Isaac couldn't help but wonder if Digimon got out and went on a rampage. After all, this destruction seemed far more severe than anything a natural disaster could cause. And a terrorist attack on Japan would've gotten plenty of media attention. But a deadly monster onslaught? Far more likely to go unstated.
Nah. He was probably just chasing ghosts.
The girl was clutching something tight to her chest. The Impmon's head titled slightly as he tried to make out what it was. It seemed like an egg, but could it be? Eggs could never be that big. Unless this girl they were talking to was some sort of super-elite ostrich smuggler.

"Hmm? Oh. I'm sorry." She offers an apologetic smile. "I'm not being very polite, am I?" Her grandmother would smack her if she saw her manners no doubt. "I'm fine though. I'm sorry if I seemed otherwise."
That being said, the egg in her arms began to make slow clicking noises, wiggling around wildly. She looked surprised as she pulled it away from her.
While this was not the best place to hatch it, it appeared it really didn't seem to care. Setting it down, she kneels down. "I found this egg, and... um..." The bird inside must be... really noisy and stubborn.

She was being way too hard on herself. It's not like any of this was her fault. Even walking in on them changing forms was more just bad timing and location than anything, and it was on them to be less careless. The Veemon looked up at her, a bit of sorrow in his eyes.
"Polite? Oh, no, please do not worry. You just seemed sad. Is there anything we can do to help?"
That's when the egg started shaking and cracking at full force. Immediately the two brothers looked at each other in shock, absolutely lost as to what to do. It was probably too late to sit on it for warmth, and they had no idea how to help care for a baby. Isaac was the first to break the panicked silence.
"Elliot. Lookout duty. Now!"
The Veemon nodded, standing on one side of the alleyway as the Impmon guarded the other. If anyone walked in on this, they'd be the first line of distraction to ensure nothing could hurt the hatching creature.

She was about to respond to them when the egg began to slowly rock back and forth, its pace picking up rapidly. Watching it with wide, but curious eyes, it wasn't long before a black fuzzy creature replaced the broken egg shells. Large golden eyes look up at the surrounding people, though his gaze had been on Hikari the moment he had opened them -- and this is what established in his mind, that this was his tamer. This was his partner. That being said, Hikari found herself smiling from ear to ear, moving to pick up the creature. "It's so cute...!"

Elliot and Isaac looked at each other in shock. They knew it wasn't a bird, but they had no idea to expect that.
"Isaac! Isaac, look! It is a-" He paused his excitement, looking around to try and prod his memory. Most of the Digimon he saw were a lot bigger and more destructive. Even Paige's had more development to them than being just a tiny black ball. "Uh, that is a Digimon, right?"
Isaac shrugged in response. He wasn't 100% sure himself, but he didn't see what else it could be. Still, that was proof enough for Elliot. "It is a Digimon!" he said, finishing his thought.
"Never figured that they hatched from eggs," Isaac responded, shrugging. Which seemed a little odd considering he was currently a Digimon. Still, at least they didn't have to bother keeping up facades anymore.
"Awww, he likes you!" Elliot said, as he watched the new tamer and Digimon bond.

The term 'Digimon' didn't go past deaf ears. The small but stubborn fuzzy black creature immediately lept into his partner's arms, cooing softly for a few moments before bright golden eyes land on the two in question.
"Digimon...?"
What a strange name for a creature -- but maybe that's what these were too? "Kind of ironic this little one would hatch in the entertainment district... or what's left of it..." Especially since she was an idol in disguise and all that.
"Do you guys know what species he is? I assume Digimon is a collective term, but..."

She had a good point. The little guy was a sprout of new life in a desolate ruin. Really, it was something to celebrate. Elliot hoped the poor thing could get somewhere less dreary soon, though. It wouldn't do too well to have the Digimon's first experiences be entirely among doom and gloom.
"I am not sure, sorry," Elliot said. "Truth be told, we are still new with Digimon as well."
"An artifact let us take these forms a day ago. We were practicing until you arrived," Isaac explained further. "Hold on, please." Once more a white light enveloped the two, floating in the air slightly as their bodies shifted from Digimon to human. They then touched onto the ground gently, turning to Hikari.
"Pretty cool, huh?"

"Ah..." She trails off a bit, watching as they turn from digimon to human with ease. Wait... so... did that mean that this guy was a human too, or...
A smile spread on her features, and she couldn't help but nod. "It is! It's super cool!" The Botamon looked less then pleased to see her praising these two and not himself -- but he said nothing, only observing with focused golden eyes.
"So... um... does this guy become a human too? Or..."
