...Here? Huh. He'd been expecting something more sinister or...outlandish, but. No. Standard house. Not even a drawbridge. The teen double-checks the address on his Digivice IC. This is the place alright. Keeping the device in hand (just in case this person turns out to be dangerous. What? He might need Petermon's help!), he approaches the door and knocks.
Standing there, waiting for someone to answer, is a four-foot-eight skinny thirteen year old boy with black hair, glasses and a rather expensive looking jacket. Knee-length and black with a green trim, and an insignia of some kind on the left breast. The boy looks nervous, and for good reason. This is his first time dealing with a human as a DATS agent. Usually he just deals with Digimon emerging into the human world, but...someone had thought it was about time he talk to a Tamer or...whatever else, about registering with DATS. Get used to the whole insane process.
And then try to be home in time for milk, cookies and curfew. How is this one of his responsibilities at thirteen?!
Marshal and Sunmon were laying in bed, which wasn't really a rare occurance for Marshal. Sunmon, however, was going crazy from boredom.
"Is this really all you do all day?" the little Digimon asked.
"Of course not," Marshal replied. "Sometimes I sit up in bed for a few minutes to check my phone!"
Sunmon sighed. He wasn't sure how he felt about his Tamer sometimes. He floated over Marshal in silence until both were startled by a knock on the door. Since Marshal's mother was still at work at the hospital, and his father was away on business, it was up to him to watch the house while they were away. He slowly stumbled out of bed and made his way downstairs to the door. When he opened it, he was greeted by the sight of a short young teenager in a crazy looking jacket. Is it Halloween already? Marshal wondered.
"Hi there," he greeted his guest. "Can I help you with something?"

"H-Hello," Oh, right. Minor speech impediment too. Very minor. Oh boy. "Are you..." He reaches into the inside pocket of his jacket and flips out a small paper notepad, "...M-Marshal North?" He certainly fits the description he's got written down. "I'm Takahiro Evans, from the Digital Accident Tactics Squad," How...weirdly official sounding for a child.
"We've detected the presence of an unregistered Digimon here over the, um. O-over the last couple of days, and I...we thought it'd be a good idea to send a f-field agent out here to talk to...well, you, presumably," Well, it was the logical assumption. Digimon tended to bond to younger people. He already feels like he's messing up here, somehow. Although at least he can pass it off as something else if it turns out their intel was wrong. 'Digimon' is a nonsensical word to most people, after all. Excellent. ...Why is Takahiro considered smart again?
Marshal was taken aback for a moment. How did this kid know about Sunmon? What was this, "Digital Accident Tactics Squad?" He looked around for a moment to make sure no one was watching, and grabbed the kid by the arm. "Come in here," he demanded, tugging on the boys jacket sleeve and pulling him into the house. He shut the door behind both of them and led Takahiro into the living room.
"Sunmon, come down here!" Marshal shouted to his Digimon upstairs. "There's someone here who needs to talk to us." After a few seconds, the little sun ball came floating down.
"Who is this, Marshal?" Sunmon asked his Tamer. He gave Takahiro a quizzical look, but decided that he was probably safe for the moment.
"This kid says he's from something called the Digital Accident Tactics Squad," Marshal explained. He turned to Takahiro. "So, is this a practical joke or am I in some kind of trouble? This costume of yours looks pretty serious."

Takahiro would resist being dragged, but he weighs about as much as a sheet of paper and so is...dragged along, whether he wants to go or not. He eyes Sunmon, calling up the data on the screen of his Digivice IC. In-Training. Alright, that's manageable.
He presses a button or two on his unusual-looking Digivice, and then turns to address Marshal, "It's n-not a joke, Mister North. It's our job to make sure the public don't f-find out about Digimon, but above, uh. But above that, it's our duty to make sure they don't get hurt by Digimon Bio-Emerging into our world,". He waves his Digivice IC, "We have access to...various technologies that scan the city for Digimon signatures, and y-your partner's popped up. I was sent to investigate,"
He takes a second to gather his wits before going on, "For s-simplicity's sake, everyone with a Digimon partner is asked to register them. S-so that we don't waste time chasing non-Wild Digimon," He avoids the words 'tame' or 'captive', "q-questions?"
"Seems legit, at least," Marshal admitted. "There's no way you would've known about Sunmon, otherwise. On top of that, that looks like a Digivice, so I'm inclined to believe you. What do you need me to do, then? I don't want to give up Sunmon, so I'm willing and able to co-operate."

Takahiro offers a little smile, "Y-you don't have to give Sunmon up. I still have m-my partner. All you'd have to do is come down to DATS in the next day or two and fill our some forms, let us scan Sunmon's data into the system so he won't show up on our 'wild' scans. It'll keep the two of you out of trouble as well, and help us f-find you if there's an emergency,"
He eyes the pair, considering, "What e-exactly are you doing with your partner, anyway? Or...do you just sp-spend your days hanging out together?" What? No reason people shouldn't apply to be an agent. If they're not suitable, they'll be rejected. But sometimes you find a diamond among all the coal.
"Well, we're not doing much right now," Marshal admitted. "It's the weekend now, so I could always come down right now to do all this paperwork, as much as I don't want to. As for the rest of the time, well, we haven't really gotten to know each other that much yet. I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do with Sunmon, or why we were partnered up together." Takahiro looked like he was thinking hard about something. "Why? Was there something else you needed from me?"

"Mrm. I'm...it's an opportunity. Something you can consider. W-we offer anyone with a Digimon Partner or D-Scanner the ability to apply to become a DATS Agent like myself. You could pick up the paperwork while you're down there and look it over, anyway," Takahiro tucks his Digivice away as he speaks.
"It'd b-be a lot of work. Running around dealing with Bio-Emerging Digimon, f-filling out paperwork, working to make sure nobody found out about Digimon. It's really up to y-you. Something to think about, anyway,"
"Let's do it, Marshal!" Sunmon had barely even let Takahiro finish his statement before blurting out those words. Marshal was surprised at the little Digimon, who thus far had been pretty mild. He wondered what the big deal was with his Digimon and his fixation on getting stronger.
"It can't hurt, I suppose," Marshal said, putting his finger over his lips in a thinking position. "We'll come with you and fill out the stuff that we need to fill out. Nothing saying we absolutely have to join even if we apply, right?"

"Mhm. I-it's just like any other job in that you can turn it down if y-you're offered a position, but make sure you think about it carefully. It's a serious commitment, l-like joining the police, in a sense,"
With that, he gives a little shrug, fastening his jacket again as he readies himself to leave, "Alright, well, if you've no more questions, w-we can get going. It's quite a walk b-back to Headquarters. You might want to keep Sunmon hidden as well. Backpack, or...perhaps just l-leave him here."
"I usually just carry him in my arms, since he'd probably set fire to my backpack," Marshal explained. "Actually, come to think of it, this may give us a chance to test something out. What do you think, Sunmon?"
"I'm ready, Marshal!" the in-training Digimon replied. With Sunmon's approval, Marshal got his Digivice out and pointed it at Sunmon. A glow illuminated the whole house as Sunmon began to digivolve.
"Sunmon Digivolve to...Coronamon!"
"Alright," Marshal said, putting the Digivice away and holding his arms out. "Let's give this a shot." Coronamon jumped up into Marshal's arms as he wrapped them around his partner. It was a perfect fit, and since Coronamon had better control over its flames, Marshal wouldn't get burned.
"We're ready to go," Marshal told Takahiro. "Coronamon plays the part of a stuffed animal quite well, don't you think?"

Takahiro quirks a brow. It'd never really occurred to him to try anything like that before, mostly since...well, Petermon's default form was taller than Takahiro himself. And frankly, the Digivice works just fine for storage.
"It'll suffice, hopefully. Don't draw attention t-to yourselves," And with that, he turns and heads for the front door, in order to lead the boy to DATS headquarters and fill out that damned paperwork! Should be a simple matter. Maybe he'll actually get home before a ridiculous hour for once...
