All That Glitters [Digimental Hunt][Maia]

So as it turned out, the D-Arc didn't have any bugs or issues. The new Digimental Marshal and Coronamon had been tracking was definitely on the move. After a few more days of tracking it, the two of them discovered a gigantic moving island. This ended up being a monstrous Digimon named ElDoradimon, and the island had been hidden from humans for quite a while.
Today, Marshal had decided that they would try to go to the moving island and get that Digimental. Coronamon was still not sure what having another Armor form would do for him, but decided to trust Marshal's judgment and play along. In order to keep as safe as possible, Marshal had decided to invite Maia along. It had been a while since they had adventured together, so it was nice to see her again.
"Thanks for coming along," Marshal said to her as the two of them flew through the sky on Firamon. Luckily Kuu was so small, otherwise Firamon wouldn't be able to carry all three of them! "I figured that since you two came on our last trip to find a Digimental, it'd be like good luck or something! Plus, it's better to have more people along in case things go south."

"Weeeee!"
"Stop it, please," Maia mumbled to her jacket, trying to use one hand to shove the pipefox's face into a 'hidden' pocket inside of the clothing. Of course, the tamer had to zip him into a hoodie to keep him from potentially just flying off of her shoulder! After all, he'd been flailing his only two paws outside of the jacket, and was clearly not hanging onto anything. What would he have done if the girl hadn't taken measures to avoid the little alien flying off?
There was a muffled continuation of the 'wee' as Kuu began to burrow into the pockets. Oh, this was so much fun! "I love flying!" he announced, as his nose finally emerged from the top of the jacket again. "This is why I gotta fly, Maia! It's the best!"
"Or not," his tamer adamantly quipped, before looking to Marshal. "Oh, uh, no problem," the girl answered, with a slight smile. Oh, but it kind of was a problem! She wasn't a huge fan of flying, it seemed! At least Maia was doing a decent job at hiding it, though. It wasn't like Firamon was doing somersaults in the air, or something, after all! "Let's hope it doesn't go south though, alright?"
To add some encouragement to the mix, the rookie chirped, "how's it good luck to bring us? I'm pretty sure Maia jinxes everything!" Wow! Great vote of confidence, Kuu!

"Alright," Marshal chuckled. "Of course, last time we had to fight, Firamon and Reppamon ended up being a really good team!" Marshal, of course, was referring to the time they had gotten stuck in an avalanche and had to fight a Mammothmon with some amazing team moves!
The four of them sailed through the sky a little while longer until the giant Digimon ElDoradimon came into view. The area they would be searching in wasn't as big as Marshal was expecting, which was good. There looked to be a giant fortress that protruded out of the creature's back. Marshal assumed the Digimental would be located in there somewhere.
"Set us down, Firamon," Marshal ordered. Firamon silently did as instructed and made a silent landing on top of ElDoradimon's back. They appeared to be in a small forest area near the fortress. Marshal quickly grabbed his D-Arc and checked the radar for the Digimental's signal. Sure enough, all their searching was paying off. The signal was no longer moving, because both the Digimental and Marshal were moving at the same speed thanks to ElDoradimon.
"Looks like the Digimental is in the direction of that strange looking building," Marshal guessed. pointing towards the structure. "Let's get moving and hope for a successful mission!" Firamon reverted back to Coronamon, and Marshal led the group towards the massive building. Little did any of them realize that they had been spotted coming in for a landing on ElDoradimon, and would be soon met with opposition.

"After you were buried in the snow and could have died," the girl was quick to add to the memory. Good thing Coronamon was warm! Or, maybe Marshal was just stupidly lucky. It was hard to say! At least everyone had come out of the event unscathed. And, hopefully, would have the same with this one!
While Maia would have loved to take in the scenery, she was still focused on the concept of not falling off the flaming lion until they were a safe distance from the ground. Once Firamon was in a position to allow the passengers to escap-- er, slowly exit the ride, the tamer wasted little time in slipping off his side, and stretching her legs. "Ground," she mumbled, with a small sigh of relief. Even if this ground was kind of questionable, and possibly more dangerous than being in the sky.
Scrambling from the jacket, Kuu took up his usual position, sprawled across his tamer's shoulders. "This looks awesome! We gotta explore! Do you think anything lives here? I hope so! Can it be talking birds? Can birds talk?" And, off went the monster's mouth! It was more than obvious that at least one of them were excited!
Looking to wear Marshal was pointing, Maia couldn't help but sigh. "I already have a bad feeling about this." Or, maybe she was still on edge from the flight. It was hard to say quite yet! Still, she followed Marshal toward the building. After all, it would be dumb to just stand where they had touched down, and do absolutely nothing! That would defeat the purpose of coming along for extra help. Though, what help Kuu could truly be was a mystery!

Marshal hadn't realized it before now, but Maia could be a real downer sometimes. He paid no mind to her comment. After all, they had made it out alright, hadn't they? Marshal just kind of chuckled awkwardly as the four of them made their way toward the tower. "I'm sure everything will be ok," he said.
Of course he was wrong. Nothing was ever okay in the Digital World, after all. As soon as they had gotten close to the structure, they were stopped by a small army of Digimon. "Halt, humans!" said a Baromon that was in front of the pack. "Your kind isn't allowed here!"
Marshal threw his hands up in surprise. "We don't mean any harm!" he shouted. "We're just here to look for something that might be able to help us deal with a situation that might be coming up in the future." Of course, Marshal still hadn't found out much about what had caused that Brachiomon to suddenly appear in the real world, but any leads that would come up here would be helpful while they searched for the Digimental.

A downer sometimes? This girl was already going through every possible way that this adventure could end in her death! Of course, she wasn't going to admit to that! "Well, we've survived this long, right?" Maia questioned, with a joking tone. Okay, maybe it was only partial joking and a lot of trying to bring comfort to all of those scenarios built up in her head. After all, in a video game, right about now would be the time that the protagonists would encounter some sort of issue, usually involving another party of some sort!
...And, true to video game nature...
"Aw, you're not a talking bird," Kuu grumbled, pulling himself up a little to see everything better. Maia wasn't a tall enough perch for certain events! The Kudamon needed wings! Like, now! Still, he was going to take offense that his human was forbidden from someplace! After all, she was with him! And, everyone should allow Maia everywhere that Kuu was! As far as he was concerned, the little rookie was one of the coolest Digimon ever! "What's your problem with people? This is my people," he insisted, with a nod, before looking to Marshal, "and he's a good people! I think."
There was hesitation, as the alien looked up, then down, and slowly returned his gaze to the male tamer. "You are a good people, right?" Skepticism! Then, with a sudden laugh, the fox shook his head, "you convince Maia to do adventure stuff. Of course you're a good people!" Good to know, that was all it took to become a good person in Kuu's mind!
Still, Maia remained rather quiet throughout all of this, listening to both Marshal and the seeming-leader of the army. It wasn't like she had anything to contribute to the conversation!
