"Under what sort of base did you say that, Aldamon?" Ryu asked, voice filled with friendly sneer, but his eyes still fixed at the Black Groundramon. "I've been in this sort of situation longer than you, if you're here just to look cool, because you didn't mention Marshal at all, I'll smack you above your head. What can you alone do? There's already a better alternative..."
Ryouta was about to call a backup, a flare gun is ready on his handHe was surprised when he saw that the twins and their friends came out from the hole... but it was such a bad idea! "Luke, no--!"
Too late. The attack hit the Groundramon. Several seconds of silence that felt like forever passed. It snapped its fangs shut, decapitating the smaller one, reducing it into--data that it absorbs. Even Ryu made a gagging sound at that. Still, its focus now turned to Luke! Quickly Ryu grabbed his friend, or at least attempted to. The enormous tail starts to sweep the ground at frightening speed, charged with energy that definitely could kill a normal perfect stage in one hit. Chill ran to his spine. Without doubt that this is a Super Ultimate strength Digimon.
"...Buy me ten minutes. Aldamon, we'll get its attention, Luke, go back AND MAKE SURE NOTHING HITS COLIN OR ANIKI. If you can get them to safe place where Aniki can shot his flare, get back here and support us with long range attack! Bellamy! Support us with healing."
He's not even sure if those three would follow his idea, but Ryu already flies close enough to the Groundramon, sword drawn to hit it overhead, but was stopped by its wings.
"Pain in the--!" he cursed.

Aldamon looked on in horror as Luke's attack did literally nothing to stop the BlackGroundramon. This thing was out of their league for sure. Was he even making the right choice to stay and fight? Clearly the best alternative would be to run back to Ilbert and hope for the best.
No, that was the coward's way out. He had to help Ryu! The Mega-level flew into the fray and shot at its back with another Atomic Inferno.
Marshal shuffled through his deck, trying to find a specific card that would be able to turn the tides way in their favor. Unfortunately, he was still a little dazed from previous events to be able to focus on the card he needed.

Luke watched in horror after he had fired his attacks. Seconds of silence followed. "Aldamon! Do something!" he shouted, but it seemed that he had done something wrong somehow. The Groundramon didn't even flinch from the blasts. Luke's mouth opened with horror, was this Groundramon stronger than it looked?
With horror he realized that that was... ANOTHER Groundramon in its mouth. "Oh my god..." Luke winced as it vanished into data and was absorbed. He had to look away for a moment.
As Colin reached the spot where Ryouta was, the Groundramon then paid attention to Luke. The Dynammon readied himself. Then the tail lit up with energy came whooshing at him. Luke could feel the immense power of it. As it came at him, Luke jumped as high as he could manage, in fact sparking himself up off the ground using his Raijin Kick attack. Luke managed to evade the attack. But the energy was so intense he could feel it stinging his feet, the data charged powerfully.
He landed after the attack had passed, then Ryu spoke to him to guard Colin and Ryouta. "R-right!" Luke said, running over to them. The 200cm rabbit digimon attended to them both, standing guard to protect them. "Come on, we need to get to shelter" he told Colin.
"...a-alright" Colin stammered. Meanwhile Bellamy continued to hover just below the ground level in the pit where they had fallen, still holding on to Marshal. While they were closer to Groundramon and Aldamon, they were at least obscured from view and direct attacks.

Using a moment to raise the gun overhead, obscured from the Groundramon's vision, Ryouta pressed the trigger, shooting a flare to the air. Aldamon's flame shot luckily occupies it more than the flare that rose to the sky. Had it not for it, it probably would swing its tail at them again. Ryouta quickly ran away following Luke. With his sense still disorientated, it's hard to think anything else than run... running away as fast as he could, the best his legs can take him.
Sound of locomotive from far away echoed to the place where they currently had a battle. Before long, suddenly two tank-like shell blasted on the Groundramon, making it roar louder in anger. Unable to pinpoint its assailant, the Groundramon turned its attention to Ryu and Aldamon. It exhausted a blast of black laser while making a sweeping motion with its neck, hellbent on bringing the two down to the ground. While Ryu tried to dodge, he soon find himself outclassed by the speed of the laser. Attempting to block it---NO!
He quickly readied a counter, blade sheathed. The moment the laser hit him, he flew with such speed unthinkable of him normally, blade crackled with lightning. He slashed at the Groundramon, but...
"...What's... this white thing?"
What gushing out from it is not blood, but something white... Unable to think more of it, Ryu pulled back.

Aldamon was fast, and even faster now thanks to Bellamy's attack. However, as fast as he was, he was too close to avoid the giant BlackGroundramon's attack. The full force of the laser was pushed onto him, and he flew back and crashed facedown onto the snow, reverting back to his Rookie form. "Coronamon!" Marshal screamed. If the Rookie just laid there much longer, he would be dead for sure, but the little lion wouldn't move. Without thought, Marshal broke free from Bellamy's grasp and jumped for the ledge that they were hiding under. Grabbing on and pulling himself up on pure adrenaline, the Tamer sprinted over to his Digimon and nearly fell over on his knees once he got there. Coronamon's eyes slowly opened to see Marshal kneeling beside him. "Marshal," he grunted, grimacing through the pain, "you have to...run."Marshal's emotions began to run high, something that never happened. "I'm not doing that!" he shouted. "I'm not letting you die here, Coronamon!""Idiot," Coronamon wheezed. "If I die, I'll be brought back. You don't get that luxury.""That doesn't matter!" the human screamed, seemingly irrational at this point. "I'm tired of hanging in the back while you go out and get hurt by yourself. From now on, I fight alongside you! If I'm going out here, then I'm going out in a blaze of glory alongside my partner! Now get up, you lazy bastard!"That last sentence echoed in Coronamon's ears. He recognized it clearly. Back when they had first met, he had said those same words to Marshal after several hours of trying to get him out of bed. He laughed weakly as he slowly got up on his feet. "Man, how far we've come, huh? Never thought I'd see the day you'd be trying to get me up.""We'll only go up from here, buddy," Marshal said, grabbing the card he had found in Terminus Mall before they had left earlier that day. "Now, let's do this! Digi-Modify!" He furiously slashed the card through his D-Arc. Sparks shot out from the device from the force. "Gigabyte Glitchmagma, activate!"Card Name: Gigabyte Glitchmagma
Type: Environment
Rank: Gold
Duration: 3 Post(s)
Effect: Large mounds will protrude from the earth, they will erupt for three turns, showering down red hot magma. All fire based moves are strongly boosted in power. The scene shifted once more to the fiery mounds of burning magma. Coronamon felt the heat course through him, augmenting his power significantly. Of course, it wouldn't do anything to the BlackGroundramon, but he at least felt a bit more confident. "We have friends to protect," Marshal reminded him. "Are you gonna let Bellamy down like this?""Hell, no!" Coronamon shouted out. "Corona Knuckle!" His signature attack made his fist burst into flame, but this time instead of the usual right fist, it was his left. While Coronamon was typically right-handed, Marshal was left-handed. The two of them didn't pay any attention to this, though. Once Coronamon was ready, the two of them took off, ready to give their lives to defeat this opponent that had pushed them so far. Their breathing was in sync. Their thoughts were the same. For the first time, Coronamon could finally sense what Marshal was feeling clearly. As they approached the BlackGroundramon, they both screamed a guttural war cry. As they raised their fists in sync, a brilliant light enveloped the pair, brighter than even the sun itself. "Coronamon Biomerge to...Apollomon!"When the light faded, one being emerged. A giant Digimon whose heat radiated over the whole mountain. Fist still raised, Apollomon brought it down on the BlackGroundramon. "Sunfire Punch!"Meanwhile, in Apollomon's head, a conversation was taking place. "What's...going on?" Marshal asked. "No idea," Coronamon admitted, "but damn if this isn't awesome! Let's do this, Marshal!"

Colin watched as Ryouta fired off the Flare Gun. Good... with that indication, surely Ilbert will be here soon. An additional Mega level providing reinforcements would be most welcome right about now.
Luke escorted Ryouta and Marshal as far as safely possible, looking over his shoulder at Aldamon fighting Groundramon. He saw the hole nearby, hoping his brother and Marshal were safe from harm's way. From a distance, they watched as Groundramon lashed out at Ryu and Aldamon. In response Ryu could only counter-attack. Some kind of white data left Groundramon as he did so. Colin thought all digimon did that when they were hit, so he didn't pay particular attention to it.
Bellamy cried out as Aldamon was hit by the black laser. "No! Baby get back up!" he shouted, wishing for him to do so. Even if he was currently meant to be a badass mobster Astamon, he still had strong feelings in his heart for the other digimon. Aldamon had degenerated back to his rookie level. "Coronamon!"
Marshal wrenched free from his grip. Bellamy didn't attempt to stop him. Even though Aldamon told him to keep him safe, Bellamy knew that the bond between partner and digimon was most important and made no attempt to stop him. Instead, Bellamy flew as fast as he could from the hole and hovered above the battle, out of range, not interfering, but observing, ready to assist where he could. He saw that Luke and Colin were relatively safe, as was Ryouta. This relieved the Astamon a little.
But If Groundramon attacked Coronamon again, he would do what he could to save him. But he remembered his duty to his brother and partner was his top priority. If he gave his life up, they would be hurt far more. But damn it, this was just so unfair.
They heard the words that Coronamon and Marshal were saying. "Marshal! Come back here!" Luke yelled. "Get to safety! Hurry!" but he didn't know if he could be heard from this far away.
Then Marshal slashed a card. The Gigabyte Glitchmagma. Colin, Luke and Bellamy gasped as the ground came to life with fire and magma once more. Luke and Colin were out of its reach and Bellamy was high enough not to feel its effects. But with this, the three of them got the feeling that he knew what he was doing.
Then... Coronamon attacked. Bellamy was confused. And then... Marshal did too. Bellamy's green eyes widened. Was this... the thing that they were waiting for?
They glowed white, the ice and fire below flashing with amazing effects. And then it happened. The Biomerge. Marshal and Coronamon combined into one. Bellamy's smile widened, he almost laughed with how delighted he was at the sight. They had achieved it, Super-Ultimate evolution. And the proud and incredibly sexy figure of Apollomon stood below. He promptly began to turn the tables on Groundramon.
"You go hotstuff!" Bellamy called.

The Digimon grinned, all in its wicked bloodlust. To think that it still can feel any semblance of emotion. Ryu's blood freezes as he starts to drool, drool even more than before. It looked at Coronamon, ready to eat him. Ryouta on the other hand was gritting his teeth. He really cannot risk evolving repeatedly, but---
"UNISON, SHINKA!!"
Who cares! He repeated the said action once again. Fearing the worst, yet needing to help Coronamon as best as he could, the cocoon of light once again materialized to merge the Digimon and the human. Despite being biomerged, his state was still in chaos because repeated use of biomerging. Inside his digicore, Ryu tried his best to stabilize the power. They're risking to break the armatization prematurely!
"UOOOOOOOOOHHH!!"
Adrenaline pumped to his system. He immediately draw his sword and blocked the Groundramon's jaw. He cannot even prepare enough time to counter... He watched in horror as Marshal came to Coronamon.
"THIS IS---" he start to scold with all his might, all while still pushing the Digimon back. "NOT THE TIME TO PLAY SOME DAMN HERO DAMMIT---!"
Yet, suddenly, he felt that something was coming. Something that was too late to be dodged or defended. The laser this time hit him in full, enough to make him blasted far and skidding on the ground, vomiting blood from the damage. His temple throbs with the worst kind of migraine he ever felt. His vision disoriented. To think that he's down this easily... He's truly a glass cannon.
More supportive round is fired from the distance, but he guessed that if Ilbert came here and just like that rescue them, he won't be able to outrun the Groundramon. Once again, Ryouta tried to rose, but-- too late. Glitchmagma was activated, but can Coronamon make it? Ryouta was about to fly again, but his body won't even listen to him.
<<Aniki! Our strength is slipping! You need more rest or else we'll--!>>
"I GOT NO TIME TO REST! MOVE, DAMMIT!"
Despite so, his body still won't listen to him. He watched in horror when the wing claw of the Groundramon about to flatten the human and his Coronamon--- until a burst of flame so bright made him had to close his eyes. A loud explosion reverberated. one of the Groundramon's wing separated from its body, and not stopping just there, the Digimon also launched hard to the opposite direction. White blood came out from the affected area, enough to make a huge puddle of it. Corrupted data wafts out from the blood, enough to make Ryu inside Ryouta gagged.
"...Ahh, so they've done it," Ryouta muttered. Despite their awesome attack, the Groundramon only grows even more furious. Roar of fury came from it, enough to shook the mountain yet again. It dug the ground, so fast and closed the entrance, almost like teleporting inside. It's still not dead, but if they wanted to exterminate it by destroying this mountain then clearly it'll be a 'mission failed' without doubt.

"Whoa," was all that the brand new Super Mega could say, apparently. His voice seemed to be a mix of Marshal's and Coronamon's. Apollomon was amazed by his own power. He just punched off that BlackGroundramon's entire wing! It was...a little gross, and that strange white liquid didn't really add up either, but the more important issue at the moment was the fact that the BlackGroundramon was planning to escape.
Of course, none of that seemed to be too important to Apollomon at the moment, who was busy reveling in his newfound form. "Wahoo!" he yelled. "This is amazing! Did you guys see that?" He looked over at the others. Ryouta seemed to be doing pretty poorly. Apparently, while Marshal and Coronamon had been shouting at each other, he had fused with Ryu and tried to fight. "Hey, are you ok?" Apollomon asked. "Sorry to worry you like that. Do you need to rest?"
Apollomon weighed his options as the snow beneath him melted. Did he attempt to go after the BlackGroundramon? It couldn't do much without one of its wings at this point. Surely it would...bleed out? "What is that white stuff, anyway?" he wondered. "Digimon don't usually just bleed like that."

The battle was nightmarish as Ryouta tried to evolve again, but was badly injured in the attack. And Ilbert was providing supporting fire from a distance too. Bellamy wished there was more that he could do but this Groundramon was really something else.
Then Apollomon's attack managed to completely sever Groundramon's wing. Bellamy, Colin and Luke watched on with delight, and were glad that their friends managed to beat the digimon back. But Groundramon did not linger. It escaped underground too fast for them to follow. Bellamy gave a frustrated groan. Of course it couldn't be that easy. Supposing there was little else to do, they gathered together.
"Mmm, lookin' good" Bellamy said to Apollomon, looking him over. "I'm liking the thong" he giggled.
"Uh Bellamy, you do realize he's half Marshal" Colin said, not really in the mood to celebrate. While Marshal and Coronamon had achieved Super Mega, unfortunately they had not achieved their main goal - to destroy the BlackGroundramon. But at least they had got rid of the other combatants.
"Are you guys okay?" Bellamy asked with concern to Ryouta and Ryu, hoping they were fine. He also gave a little awkward chuckle at being told that Apollomon was half Marshal.
"Corrupted data from the black hematite I'd say" Luke said in regards to what the white stuff was. "Well... if we're not pursuing the Groundramon, we should probably go" he said. He turned to Ryouta. "We'd probably best come back another time, that... battle you had with your, uh... the Breakdramon. How did that go?" the Dynammon sighed. "I wish I could've helped more. And... are those Dracomon eggs going to be alright?" he added, looking down at the hole. He had killed all those Dracomon with one attack. The power he had in his Perfect form was... quite strong.
Colin looked at the blue card he now posessed. So... he could evolve his partners to Perfect now. That was reassuring. He hoped he'd be of more use to his friends now that they had access to this power.

Fine, FINE? There are too many anger in Ryu's system, so much that Ryouta's vision are dyed red. His secondary half gripped the blade so strongly that even Ryouta was afraid. Ryu never got this angry before. It's often him who gets really angry, but now, his partner is the angry one. Even so, Ryouta was not in good condition. He forced his biomerging for the second time without break. While before this would be fine, he was not in state of complete balance when he executed it. His vision blurred and his strength leaving him. The fusion immediately broke into Ryouta and Ryu, both who looks very damaged from the battle.
Suddenly, a train landed near where they are, complete with a digimon who get out from it. Her look is like a plant lady, but just very small... like a small japanese doll, he guessed? The Digimon checked the boy and immediately do some emergency treatment.
"...What a ridiculous situation. Ilbert!"
Without waiting, a stretcher came out from the train, enough with two copies of Ilbert lifting the boy away with said object. The Digimon followed soon after. Inside there's only Ryu who's sitting on chair huge enough for him. He's still wounded and tended by Ilbert, but his eyes... his eyes says just how angry he was. When the crew came in one by one, he stared at them with utterly disappointed eyes. Ilbert, looking at this spectacle, just stood beside his client's partner.
"...Apparently my training haven't got through you, Bellamy," Ryu started. "I thought I told you that human only got one life? I thought I told you that your ego can bring problem. Did you care so much about your boyfriend that you ignored that you're trusted to protect his partner? Does it cloud your judgement, even though you promised that you don't want to lose anyone important again? You severely disappoint me. What's your excuse, now, Bellamy?" cold eyes stared at the Astamon, which definitely just show how sad he is.
He turned to Marshal and his partner, or even when he's Apollomon, he'll still stare at him anyway.
"...So this is your first assignment as PROFIT member. Do you like what you're seeing? You two was far FAR better on the first heat than the second one. Have you noticed... noticed that those beings won't even wait for you to evolve? You even toss yourself to danger, not only that your partner challenged that thing with a child stage attack. Am I some sort of statue that can't help your partner? I can toss him away at you and ordered you to run, but you just gone ahead and did that! Now, would you say that means justifies everything? Not the proces? Not that?" he pointed at the red signal that the emergency treatment room is in use.
"And in what manner of idiocy someone asked when other person is fine, when that person vomited blood? Don't assume that everything is alright! Heal immediately! In battle, top form is the most important thing! Wh---why are you guys missing the basic so much!?"
"Sir," suddenly Ilbert interjected, patting Ryu on the shoulder. "I'll have to say: you're upset, I understand that, you've done great job to hold it down. However, I disagree that this should continue. You're pouring it out on them. While they indeed should be scolded, I think it's uncalled for if they got the brunt of your unbridled wrath. Lecturing can come another day. What's most important is afterall, young master's safety."
Ryu only could look down apologetically, looking almost destroyed. If one is observant, one can see that he's... crying. Sizable droplets of tears fell from his eyes. "...I failed... for the second time," he muttered. "and I even blamed other people for it... I'm a fool..."
With the emergency room's light turned off, Ryu looked at the bloodstained Digimon that came out. Silencing Ryu with a hand, the Digimon only sighed.
"...Well, how to say... he's not critical to begin with, just very beaten up, but all in all, his organs intact and his limbs still working... but... looks like his symptom's getting worse. As much as possible, do not biomerge for these week at the very least. Looks like one of you just biomerged? Well, I dunno what about your case, but abuse it and you might probably end up like the kid. Anyway, Ryu, his hearing getting more sensitive. Not sure about his vision, but I think it might be affected too. I think it's time for you to get better sound silencer."
"...Will he be fine?"
"Hard to say. Honestly, give him a week rest. He should be fine."

Apollomon sat and took Ryu's lecture, but he wasn't necessarily happy about it. Hadn't they all survived? Was Marshal necessarily in the right for being so reckless? Well, no, but if he hadn't done what he did, who knows what would have happened? Ryu and Ryouta hadn't been in much shape for fighting in the first place, and they had apparently Biomerged twice so quickly! According to Ilbert, this was becoming a big health issue for Ryouta. If only Apollomon realized that both parts of him would've been destroyed had they not suddenly unlocked the ability to Biomerge.
"We all made a few mistakes on this mission," Apollomon reminded him, "but the fact remains that we severely injured BlackGroundramon. If we come back when we're all rested, there's a good chance we'll beat him. That is, if he doesn't succumb to his injuries."
The Super Mega turned to Bellamy, who had recieved the brunt of Ryu's anger. Without warning, he grabbed him into a fond embrace. "Listen," he said purely with Coronamon's voice. "I know I asked you to protect Marshal, but I'm not angry with you. If it weren't for you, we wouldn't have reached this new form! I love-"
The Biomerged pair didn't get the chance to finish that sentence, as they suddenly broke apart in a flash of light. Marshal immediately crumpled to the ground, unconscious once again. Coronamon was also in pretty bad shape. He had landed on his hands and knees, panting heavily. "I love you." The little lion managed to squeak the phrase out between gasps before finally collapsing. The first Biomerge between Marshal and Coronamon didn't last long, but it signified a new chapter in their relationship, and the key to many intense battles in the future.

Bellamy was speechless as Ryu scolded him as they boarded Ilbert. He de-digivolved from Astamon down to Impmon without even registering it. At once he grew angry that his decisions were being questioned like this.
"W-what was I supposed to do? Hold Marshal back and let Coronamon die in front of him?!" the Impmon asked, angrily. "You and Ryouta weren't in any condition to help! I trusted that they could solve this-"
Then Ryu said that his actions contradicted his promise not to lose anyone important again. "W...WHY WOULD YOU EVEN SAY THAT?!" Bellamy screamed with outrage and fury, tears forming in his eyes. Then he realized. He could have done the right thing and saved Marshal and Coronamon together. He had been fast enough. But in the face of that Groundramon, he had faltered. Ryu was right. He was a disappointment. A failure. He said nothing and let it sink in as Ryu then turned his wrath to Marshal and Coronamon. And then came the stinger, that he should have healed Ryouta instead of just asking if he was okay.
At the end of it, Bellamy was such a wreck that he ignored Ilbert and Ryu and shouted what he wanted to say right there and then.
"You know what?!" he snarled. "You're right! I'm useless! I'm a fucking failure! In fact, I'll resign from PROFIT! I almost got Marshal killed! I almost let Ryouta get killed! I can't do ANYTHING right! I DON'T DESERVE TO BE A PART OF THIS!!" he screamed the last words so loud that they reverberated in the icy plains around them.
Meanwhile Apollomon made a good point, that they had done good things out here. But it wasn't enough. In fact he didn't even hear Coronamon say those words as Apollomon separated.
In this part of his life, Bellamy had never felt as miserable as he had right now. Even though today he had evolved to Perfect, it had felt hollow. What had he achieved today? He didn't protect his partner, he didn't protect his brother, he could only stand by as Super Ultimate levels dominated the field and even then his actions had almost resulted in ultimate disaster. He stormed away from Ilbert, wanting to just find a spot in the wastes to die and no longer exist.
"Bellamy..." Colin said, extremely upset, following him. "Don't say things like that..."
"I DON'T EVEN DESERVE TO BE YOUR PARTNER!" Bellamy screamed, tears streaming from his eyes. "I CAN'T DO ANYTHING RIGHT AND I'LL JUST GET YOU AND LUKE KILLED!! I... I..." he couldn't complete his next sentence. Colin approached. For a swift, terrifying moment Bellamy felt prepared to cast a fireball to keep him back, but in the end, he fell limp as Colin hugged him, lifting him off his feet.
"Let it all out, Bellamy" Colin said gently, patting his back. Bellamy cried for a while after that. But Colin never wavered. At the end, when Bellamy could cry no more, he still felt empty.
"...I still wanna resign from PROFIT" he muttered.
"It's okay, Bellamy" Colin said. "We'll tell Koharu what happened, alright? Let's not make decisions like that while everyone's upset, okay?"
"I... I just wanted... to help everyone" Bellamy sniffed, angry that his evolution to Astamon amounted to virtually nothing, in fact he felt it just made everything so much worse in his egotism. "Ryu's right, I'm incompetent, I'm a fucking disappointment in EVERYTHING! He's right to hate me!"
"Sssh, Bellamy, it's okay" Colin said. "He didn't say that"
There was truth in this. Bellamy struggled to find things to justify his misery, but he could find nothing else.
"We love you, Bellamy, no matter what" Colin continued, patting his head. Luke was at his feet the whole time, and with this, he nodded. Bellamy let out a few more tears. When his resistance finally fell, Colin gently carried him back to Ilbert.
"Bellamy" Luke said quietly. "Coronamon said he loved you"
Bellamy couldn't even think of what to say. He... had left him in the snow all this time. He felt horrible about it. Before they boarded Ilbert, the Impmon jumped down from Colin and walked to Coronamon, carrying him aboard. "I love you too" he murmured to him, unsure if he could hear.
Meanwhile Colin and Luke helped Marshal aboard, hoping that Ilbert and the others aboard will be able to help him.
"I think we'll probably take a holiday after this" Colin muttered to Luke, who agreed. They boarded Ilbert, avoiding Ryu for the moment, and took a seat at the other end of the carriage, waiting to return back to civilization.
