Quick Note: This thread takes place the day before "Practice What You Preach". Marked it as Open, but will be treated as a Solo if no one responds.
"Oh, please Fei? It'll be lots of fun! I promise!"
Fei and his mother were sitting in the dining room table, facing each other as if they were about to square down. While the boy remained mostly stoic and uncaring about what his mother was talking about, said woman was the exact opposite, her posture and whiny attitude matching that of a little girl, despite her clothing matching that of a businesswoman. Currently the boy was being ineffectively persuaded to go to his cousin’s birthday party with her in the next few days.
”There’ll be candy, cake, sweets, toys, everything you could imagine!” Fei’s mother clasped her hands together quickly, her long silver hair moving quickly as she nodded to emphasize her point. Did she really want him to go that badly?
”...” With a simple shake of his head, Fei denied the offer...for the fifth time. It wasn’t like he hated, or even knew, this cousin, but his mother should have know full well that he wasn’t a people person; especially when it came to kids his age. They would all just look at him weird and it would ruin the party for everyone...it would be for the best if he just stayed home for that reason alone, correct?
”B-But...maybe you could meet a lot of new friends?” The other spoke questionably.
”...” Yet another rejecting shake of his head. It was clear that people his age wouldn’t want to be his friend. Plus, even if he did make friends, the distance would make the friendship strained.
”Um...you get to finally meet your cousin?”
”...” Refer to the reason about friends above...
”Uh...um...oh! You have to go because your mother said so!” She answered in third person. Well...that was one way to get an edge over Fei as he would usually do anything his mother told him do.
Fei fidgeted in his seat, playing with the doll of his father that he made while he thought about his choice. On one hand… Fei raised one of the doll’s arms. I could do what Mommy wants and go with her. It won’t be fun though… Or... Fei then raised the doll’s other arm. I could stay home...yeah...that sounds better, I think. But I don’t want to make her mad... The dual haired boy’s stone face cracked for a moment as he finally responded.
”...Can I think about it?” He questioned, earning a surprised look from his mother. It seemed like his words were good enough for her, as she suddenly stood ad placed her hands on her hips.
”That’s good enough for me. Make sure you think about it for reals, okay?” Fei nodded slowly as he clutched the doll of his father to his chest, staring up at his mother quietly as she looked at the wall clock above the tv. ”Well, I have to get to work now. Your father will be home in the evening, so make sure to wait for him. I don’t want you going outside either.” She hummed as she walked around to his side of the table, placing a quick peck on his cheek before making her way over to the front door. ”Oh, and don’t open the door for strangers either! There are snacks in the counter if you get hungry!!” She was still talking, even though she shut the door and exited the house.
Fei stared blankly at the front door before finally getting out of his seat and moving toward the counter to get some snacks. His mother always told him not to leave the house when she was gone, but today was a little different… As the boy was moving to get some snacks, his attention was averted to…
”...Bunny.” He mumbled as his attention was directed out the window. There stood a pale white bunny with big red eyes, staring directly at him. It looked so out of place in the green grass, it was hard not to notice the animal. Being the curious boy that he was, Fei hurried to the sliding door next to the couch and opened it, making his way outside before shutting the door quickly. Looking back in the direction of the bunny, he noticed that the animal was hopping away from the house. ”...” With furrowed brows, Fei hurried after the animal, unknown to him that he was leaving the safety of his home and entering the unknowns of Shibuki Forest, chasing after a bunny that probably didn’t even know he existed!
