Beach Hopping a Change of Scenery (OPEN)

Leon had been through some difficult situations the past couple of days in the digital world. He had just learnt how to armor digivolve allowing him to temporarily become stronger. Throughout his journey he made his way to the southern tropics area of the digital world. This was a nice change of pace from the desert that he had recently been trekking. ”Man, I don’t think I will ever get the sand out of my fur.” The lion digimon would complain as he furiously pawed at himself in an attempt to remove the sand. Despite the change of scenery he couldn’t afford to let his guard down he learned that from the encounter at the ruins with the glitchy Guardromon.
Shaking off the thought of that near death experience he made his way to the sandy beach, and ran into the water in an attempt to clean his fur. After getting adequately wet he ran out of the water, and vigorously began to shake. He disliked the water, but he hated the feeling of sand in his crevices. The heat of the sun was beaming down on the damp fur of the young pride seemingly air drying his fur. He then made his way to a shady spot beneath a tree line, and crouched down preparing for a nap.
A yawn would slowly escape the warrior as he was fighting to stay awake. ”A little cat nap never hurt anyone.” He would yawn as he slowly began to shift into a sense of unconsciousness. Laying in a position that he would be able to react if an enemy were to somehow stumble upon him. Throughout his subconscious all that was running through his mind was his friend elecmon, and the good times they had together even though it was short lived.

Well then. That was certainly a remarkable adventure for Brad and his new friends. An Airship journey to the floating Luminas City was something the friendly young Bearmon thought he'd never experience, but he had. He had seen one of his new friends get a crest and have it validated too. And as a reward for his sticking by them in their time of need, Brad had received holy rings for his future evolution to Grizzmon.
Of course, Brad kept them carefully stored away in a backpack he wore on his back. Under this bag, he wore a neat red T-shirt, as well as a cap on his head with holes for his ears; blue belts to support his paws, and a belt across his chest that he wore diagonally.
Perhaps in his journey to the South for a nice vacation, the decision to keep on not bothering to wear pants was a bad idea, particularly where sand was involved? The fur on his feet, legs and lower belly was soon irritably full of the mineral grains by the beach. And it seemed as he walked, even if he tried to swim in the sea to wash it out, it would soon return. Well, the Bearmon sighed as he pondered in thought, maybe it wasn't so bad. Who knows? If he was lucky he might catch a nice fish during his swimming?
Soon on his walk, Brad noticed another digimon up ahead. A rookie level beast digimon, like him. A Leormon in fact, resting under the shade of a tree. Well then! It would be just rude for Brad to walk by without saying hello, so that's exactly what he would do.
Brad approached with a casual expression. "Hello!" he said, waving a paw. "Sorry, was I interrupting something?" he asked, realizing he might have woken him and that might not have been appreciated.

Leon would spring into action at the sound of an unfamiliar voice approaching him, and without hesitation the beast type digimon leapt to all fours. Fear of the unknown had began to sweep across the entirety of the young rookie level digimon. After his world stopped spinning he was able to focus catching a glimpse of another rookie level beast type digimon. Bearmon, they were quite common in the forested region of the digital world, and because of such the young lion digimon had seen many. They are often docile digimon unless they are given a reason to be mean, but this one seemed to have only pure intentions.
“Hello there;” he would mutter as he began to collect his thoughts. ”Nah, you weren’t interrupting anything important I was just taking a cat nap. Sorry for being so jumpy I just recently had a run in with a glitchy Guardromon, and I am a little on edge.” He then began to look out at the ocean before him turning to face the Bearmon, ”I came here on a sort of vacation from my problems, but there is so much sand here it’s hard to really relax. Any-who, the names Leon what might your name be?”
The young lion then began to stretch off the short nap that he had taken, which was much needed. His body seemed to be functioning better after getting a little r&r. A small roar would emit from deep within the beast type digimon because he was feeling in tip top shape. ”So, what brings you out here buddy?” He would curiously question hoping that he wasn’t overstepping boundaries considering they had just met.

Brad hesitated for a moment as the Leormon sprung to his feet, suddenly startled by his approach. He hoped the worst wouldn't happen, but, it seemed that it wouldn't. Brad's face relaxed with relief as he was acknowledged by the other rookie level.
"Ah, that's good to hear" Brad said, glad he wasn't interrupting anything important. But the next statement made him somewhat startled. "Oh gosh... you encountered a hostile Guardromon?" he asked, curiously. "Wow, that must have been quite an event. I'm a little curious now, did you manage to escape by yourself?".
Brad was wondering if the Leormon was able to naturally evolve to his Champion form. If not, he wondered how such an escape was possible. The Leormon didn't seem to be badly injured after all. And he introduced himself as Leon.
"I see. Hello, Leon. My name's Brad" he answered. "And yes, I understand the conundrum with the sand in these parts. It can be quite irritating" he scratched some grains from out of the white fur on his belly as a sort of emphasis.
Brad was pleased to see that this Leormon seemed to be friendly. He hoped perhaps that they might be able to chat for a bit. Brad needed to find some friends after all, being an independent digimon could get lonely sometimes. After he made a little roar, he asked Brad why he was here too.
"Well, I admit I like the idea of a little vacation myself" Brad said. "I just got back from Luminas City up in the sky" he paused, then supposed he might just ask to be polite. "Would it be alright if I sat down to talk for a bit?" he asked, thinking the spot under the shade would be a comfortable spot to rest and chat.

The leormon would sigh as he began to recall the events that had transpired. The cold iron fist of the evil digimon smashing him across the face. ”Well man it was looking like I was about to be terminated then while I was fleeing for my safety I stumbled across a strange digitama. While I was attempting to protect the digiegg from being deleted it suddenly began to glow i then armor digivolved and escaped.” Feeling more comfortable around the bear digimon he began to move closer.
The bearmon then introduced himself as Brad. ”Pleasure to meet you Brad.” Leon would chuckle lightly as he watched him clear the sand from his belly region. “Well Brad what do you have planned for today? Personally, i was going to try to catch some fish I am starving.”
The leon then energetically printed to the water and began his hunt for the fish turning back to Brad he would smile. “Come fish with me!” It had been forever it seemed like since the digimon had been able to actually have fun. Something about Brad just excited him maybe it was because in a sense he reminded him of his fallen friend elecmon. He didn’t really know much about him, but something was telling him that he could trust him.

"Oh gosh, you armor digivolved?" Brad asked, thrilled that this digimon had managed to get through such an event with such a splendid miracle. "That's amazing! Do you still have the digimental?" he asked, eager to see what one looked like. The Bearmon had only heard of them in legends, he had never seen one in person. "Just out of curiosity of course".
Leon then asked what he had planned for today. "Well, I thought after the events in the holy city I might simply relax and see where fate takes me" Brad answered. "That seems to be how it is for us digimon, yes? Simply going with the flow seems to be the simplest option".
The Leormon then suggested that they go fishing together. "Oh gosh, I'd love to help with that!" Brad said, quickly changing his demeanor from wanting to sit down and rest to swim in the sea and catch some delicious fish.
Brad took off his red T-shirt, thinking it would be best to swim without it getting wet. After all, with the sea water, it was hard enough getting his fur dry, let alone the shirt. He faced the sea with enthusiasm. "Okay, I'm ready when you are" he said, and charged toward the water, ready to hunt down anything delicious that was in the water below.

The leormon would be caught off guard by the question of seeing the digimental. “Yeah, I still have the digimental with me it is bonded to me. Let me see if I can’t manifest it for you.” The digimon would then think back to the appearance of the digiegg. Suddenly, a crimson light would burst forth out of his chest forming a rose shaped red digimental levitating above Leon. After hovering above the rookie for a few moments it would shoot back into the chest of its owner.
Listening intently to the words of the Bearmon he could seemingly relate to what he was saying. “Yeah we as digimon have to be able to adapt to different, and often times difficult decisions. So, I agree we have to go with the flow.”
LeoLeon would smile as Brad eagerly accepted his invitation to go fishing. Stalking through the water the leo spotted a small grouping of fish, and slowly drew a paw out of the water. Then with lightning fast precision he drow his claw into the water knocking a couple fish to shore.
For that short moment in life ot was as if everything was right in the world. He was surviving by his own means the way it was intended. Just as quick as the first two fish he gained a few more turning to face the bearmon. “How are you fairing Brad?”

Brad watched the digimental with an expression of awe on his face. "That's wonderful!" he exclaimed. Immediately it made the Bearmon wonder if there was a digimental somewhere in the world waiting for him?
Going with the flow of things may one day lead him to such a digimental? It was indeed a possibility. But what crest would await him? That he was unsure of. Brad wasn't terribly sure what virtue he could possibly have that was good enough for a digimental.
Ah well, there would be enough thinking about that while he was fishing. Brad stood waist deep in the water, careful not to make any movement. He knew it was rather silly to attempt swimming after fish as they could easily outspeed him. However, he just had to keep a careful eye in the water, looking toward small growths of sea grass where the fish would ultimately be congregating.
Then Brad saw it. A digital fish was poking its head out from under the water. With a near lightning movement, Brad lunged down, slashing at it with his claws. And he was met with success! Netting himself a decently sized fish.
"Got one!" he cheered as Leon asked how he was faring. Then he saw that Leon had caught multiple. "Wow, you're really good at this!" he said.

The Leon digimon would smile at the compliment the bear digimon Brad had given him. “Well if there is one thing I am good at its hunting. Although I have caught more fish they all pale in comparison to the size of yours.” Slowly the lion would walk out of the water furiously shaking his body causing the water to fly from his fur. He then made his way to his pile of fish dragging them by their tails to the tree line.
“We should have plenty of fish for us to share Brad why don't we chow down.” The lion would smile as he began to salivate over the delicious morsels they were about to consume. Even better than that he was starting to forge a friendship with someone. The first person since his old friend Elecmon.
Although there is a moment of peace that is few and far between. They two rookies are in the digital world a place where death is waiting to meet them around every corner. How long would this peace remain here in the paradise known as the digital world.

Brad chuckled a little as Leon said that quantity and quality seemed to match each other in the end. "Heh, looks like that might just be true" he said, noticing that his fish seemed to be much bigger than the catches Leon had made. Ah well. The Bearmon was never really one for competition, especially amongst those he counted as friends.
He followed Leon out of the water, shaking the wetness out of his fur. Even if it was just the fur below the waistline that was wet, he'd prefer to be dry as quick as possible.
Then Leon suggested that they eat their catches. "Ah that's a great idea" Brad said, eagerly. "Hmm. Shall we eat them raw or should we cook them, do you think?" he asked. "I admit I might not be very good at outdoor craft, but I should be able to get a fire started somehow if you like". While it would of course take longer, perhaps cooking the fish would yield a better taste for them?
Brad had to admit that he was really enjoying his time with Leon. He had met few other fellow independent digimon that he had really bonded with. The closest so far had been Pipmon and Cion, but it seemed that he had so much more in common with Leon than other digimon he had met so far.

Brad made a proposal that he could build a fire of need be to cook their food. The lion would mull over the thought of cooking the delicious morsels that laid before him. ”Wouldn't starting a fire be difficult with all the moisture in the air. We could rub sticks together or I could armor digivolve and get us one going.” The lion would wait patiently to receive an answer.
In the lush tropical jungle behind the duo the sound of branches breaking is faintly heard in the distance. The lion's ears would twitch as he heard the sound of twigs breaking. The pride would crouch in a defensive stance looking over both shoulders. ”Brad, we aren't alone, did you hear that? the lion would then turn his attention back to the bearmon. ”You watch my back, and I got your back.”
Well this was just great the first vacation he had since leaving primary village, and he was probably still going to have to fight. What was in the jungle? One thing was for sure whatever it was slowly was making its way towards the duo. Another twig broke, and the noise was growing louder. Then out of the shadows a small bird digimon leapt from a tree. ”Kiwimon, what is the meaning of this?
“Well I was travelling through when I smelt those tasty tidbits you have there, and I decided that i was going to take them from you.”

Brad pondered what to do in this case. "Hmm. Well, we could always attempt it. I hear there's quite often driftwood on the beach, that may suffice as fuel to get a fire to cook them, at least for a little while?" The other option was also good. "Ooh, yes, if you can use fire attacks in your armor form, that may also work well" he said, licking his lips, then chuckled a little.
"Sorry, just ever since I tried fish cooked with salt I just find raw fish a little on the bland side, if I may say so" he admitted.
Then, Brad's ears twitch as he heard a twig break. The Bear digimon didn't duck down like Leon did, but still looked alert. Apparently they weren't alone. And Brad was slightly worried that whoever it was wasn't identifying themselves.
"Alright" Brad said as Leon said to watch his back. If it was an ambush, it could be a distraction. Brad looked down the beach, keeping his eyes peeled where Leon's weren't.
The intruder turned out to be a Kiwimon. And when questioned by Leon, he said that he was simply going to take their food.
"That's not nice" Brad said, frowning. "You could simply ask, you know. We worked hard to get this food". Brad would have offered to share, but this Kiwimon seemed intent to steal their hard earned catch.

The lion would laugh as he heard the bear speak of the food being cooked with salt. “Well to be honest Brad I haven't ever had cooked fish. I have always had to eat it raw I am curious of the flavor that it holds.”
Leon would frown as the Kiwimon declared that he was going to take their food. A growl would escape the lion as he contemplated how he was going to shred the overgrown turkey. “Brad’s right we have put too much time into catching these fish just to let you take them. We would be glad to share with you if you would just ask nicely.” The Kiwimon would then proceed to look the duo over to determine his odds of winning the bout.
“What's a couple of Rookies like you going to do to stop me? Pummel Peck!” The digimon would retort as a barrage of chibi birds would fly at the rookie duo. Leon would tackle Brad out of the way of fire, and would turn his attention back to the avian digimon. ”You dare to attack us, this is what's wrong with the digital world today! digi armor energize!” He would shout as flames surrounded his forming an egg. After the edd dissipated a new larger fire lion stood. “Firamon the burning passion!”

Brad didn't really think the Kiwimon would attack, so when he did, it all came as a surprise to the Bearmon. He yelped, temporarily too shocked to move, so he was surprised and thankful when Leon pushed him out of the way.
He stood back up and watched with awe as Leon armor digivolved to Firamon. Amazing. Brad didn't know exactly what digimon he'd become, but this would certainly be helpful. He felt much more confident of their chances when he saw his battle partner.
"I can support you if you need help, Leon!" Brad called. He ordinarily didn't like combat much. But really, a digimon had to fight in self-defence sometimes. He stood prepared, ready to help his new friend send this rude ruffian packing.
Knowing that he should help his friend out, Brad's paw glowed yellow. Reluctantly, but determined, he leapt forward and gave a cry of "Rail Smash!" sending a wave of golden energy rushing through the sand toward Kiwimon. An earth elemental attack. If it struck Kiwimon, it would send a burst of energy upward when it reached him. Brad didn't aim to destroy, just to send him away.

The fire lion would look over his shoulder, and would smile as his friend had offered to back him up. “Thanks I might need some help with this one.” The words hadn't much more than left his his mouth than the small bear smashed the ground sending a flashing light at the bird. The attack would catch the Kiwimon off guard sending him into the air. Without hesitation the lion's claws would become engulfed in flames “Fira Claw!” He flew up towards the ground bird sent into the air.
“You think that little sand fizzle is going to stop me?” The bird would begin to direct his attack at the small bear. “Wrong he was creating a diversion go roast you overgrown turkey!” He would shout as he swatted him with his burning claw smoke would swarm the place of contact causing the Kiwimon to run. “Forget this it isn't worth it!” The lion would launch a fireball at a pile of driftwood, and would land to the ground getting engulfed in a bright light a red beam would leap from his chest and hover until he returned to leormon then crashed into his chest.
“You are probably one of the coolest people I have ever met Brad. We could've easily deleted him, but I didn't want to ya know? No harm no foul.” The lion would admire the fire, Let's roast some fish buddy!”
