Owen nodded in agreement with Cion. "And... if he does remember, hopefully whoever looks after him can make sure he sees what happened as a lesson" he said. Yes, this sounded like a good and just decision. While Owen couldn't abide by evil digimon, there were limits. Tampering with data was something that he would never do.
However, Cion raised a good suggestion too. Owen found himself agreeing with it. "Why... that's an excellent idea" he said. "If he's raised here in Eirene, he'd learn how to be a good society digimon" he smiled. "Okay then, hopefully one of the digimon here may be willing to take him in".
As the battle wound down, the villagers seemed to realize it was safe, emerging from their hiding places. They apologized for their cowardice and inability to defend themselves. Owen held back the urge to scoff at this apology, listening to what Cion had to say. The Arnamon stated that they should 'atone' for this by simply learning how to defend themselves.
"That sounds reasonable" Owen said. And, yet, the Gaogamon ventured forth with another suggestion. "Also... it might be asking a bit much, but, I just ask of you people. Can you find it within yourselves to break the cycle of revenge?"
Owen then presented the egg to Lyra, or whoever would accept it.
"In this egg is Shadramon's base form. Can you find it in yourselves to forgive him and raise his baby form as one of your own?" he asked. "By all means, teach him right from wrong and discipline him if you need to. Just... somehow, I need to know if a bad digimon can turn good".
He meant this honestly. If it could be done, Owen would be much more at ease with the way things should be in the digital world.

Yeah, there always was the possibility that, whoever Shadramon would now become, still carried its memories within it. Whoever had raised it first had done a poor job, so it now required proper role models to do the job, or just a couple of kind friends. Cion was glad to hear that her brother completely approved of her suggestion, believing that being raised in Eirene was exactly what their former adversary needed. That way, he could at least know how to be an adequate digimon, and maybe even utilize that knowledge for mutual happiness.
When Cion raised her suggestion for to the villagers that they should train to defend themselves, the agreed without hesitation. When Owen started to detail his request, there was at first a lot of confusion. "Cycle of revenge?" Some within the crowd would ask. Then they saw the egg, and the adults quickly fathomed that it must be whatever was left of Shadramon. They quickly comprehended that Owen wanted them to raise him to be a good villager, which was definetly a better option than abandoning the egg to its fate. There was at first hesitation, but then with an expression of confidence Lyra approached the Gaogamon and took the egg without hesitation.
"There is not much all of us must forgive. In the contrary, we must be forgiven. After all, he was after you, and if this is what you wish for him, then it shall be. We make sure the kids don't find out, so we can assure him a happy childhood." She spoke for everyone else, briefly turning to the other villagers who ultimately nodded despite doubts and concerns. "Then it's settled. Besides, I always wanted a rascal under my wing. Keeping an Inn all alone is quite the hassle I tell ya." The Bucchiemon joked, trying to lift the spirits of everyone again.
"Sounds fair to me, once he's rookie. 2 bits fun and 1 bit work is a decent way to forge a healthy character." Cion approved of Lyra's idea. Especially human societies might consider it improper, but the Sagitamon thought that was exactly what a youngling needed. Through a bit of work, whoever Shadramon would turn out to be would appreciate satisfaction through success and would further strengthen his bond with the other villagers; adults and kids alike.
As much as the silver vulpine digimon was concerned, everything was settled then, and now all of them could enjoy some tranquil serenity. Many of the villagers left already, but Lyra with the egg remained, smiling at the duo. "Can I invite you two to some brunch? I got beef stew, and I'm sure the kids would like to ask you a thousand questions again and hear all your stories; just like last time, tihi." She kindly offered them, feeling like that was the least she could do for them.

Owen was delighted that Lyra would take the Shadramon in. "Excellent. I'm not sure what his earlier forms are, but, I trust you'll make him a fine digimon" Owen said, letting Lyra take the egg. He nodded with Cion's sentiments. 2 bits fun, 1 bit work was how they were raised in Primary Village after all. Hmm... perhaps Owen should look into that 'fun' thing? He'd been working a lot lately after all.
Then Lyra invited them in for brunch. Owen smiled and nodded. "That sounds like a great idea" he said. Given that he probably couldn't fit through the door as Gaogamon, he focused inward on his current form, willing to relax and shrink back to his rookie form. And he did so, de-digivolving back to his usual Gaomon form. He was slightly embarrassed that he was on all fours by habit, then hastily stood back up on his hind legs.
"Oh boy, I could do with some food after that" Owen remarked. And presumably, he and Cion would thus go into the tavern to eat and have a talk with the digimon within about their adventures.

Lyra found happiness in the trust she was granted by Owen, and so did Cion. She too was confident the Bucchiemon would make a fine mother and mentor, and if their former adversary was not rotten to the core then he would finally attain peace and content. 2 bits of fun, 1 bit of work, a healthy balance for everyone. Speaking of which, the Sagitamon had no idea how to even have a lot of fun, except playing video games. Perhaps she should watch some movies, or buy a bicycle. Then again, she now had a Gaogamon, so why waste money for a bicycle?
"Delightful! Thank you." Cion replied alongside her dear brother, looking forward to a delicious plate or two filled with beef stew, hoping that sufficient amounts of vegetables were in it as well. To her surprise, who she was quick to understand, she beheld Owen revert to his common rookie-form. Seeing him on all of his fours was without a doubt a delightful sight for the Sagitamon, but it was better to digress from inappropriateness. Still, she had to say - "Cute."
Taking in a deep breath, she too reverted to her original form of an Arnamon as to be on same eye level as her best buddy. "Me too!" She cheered alongside him, following Lyra to her inn. Within, many splendid tastes and entertaining words would be shared, making for a relaxing afternoon before they would return home throughout the evening. With Gaogamon as a mount (*wink*), it sure would be a quick and fun ride.
