"End of the line," rumbled the deep, gruff voice of a Trailmon. Rinji was sat comfortably along the length of a seat, staring through the glass of the window when he heard this. He was the only one on the train - even in the station. It was nearing 3AM according to the digital clock inside the carriage, and the platform was eerily empty. The sterile lights overhead dutifully illuminated the tiled floor, further highlighting the lack of passengers.
He looked to and from the outside of the train. His eyesight was bad, but even he could sense that something was wrong. Wasn't Terminal City supposed to be chock full of digimon and even humans?
The Trailmon growled at his hesitation. "End of the line," it repeated, its voice holding an irate haughtiness.
Yikes! Not wanting to provoke the Trailmon any longer, he swiftly scuttled out through the side door onto the platform, minding the gap. Then, without a word, the Trailmon accelerated back through the tunnel it had entered through.
He was completely alone.
The station itself was arranged in a star topology fashion. Train tracks all surrounded a sole and single elevator shaft, and the lack of any form of life made it seem all the more foreboding. Perhaps all the digimon and humans were simply still asleep? Or this was one of the less used Trailmon tracks? Or maybe something had gone wrong and he hadn't found out yet?
So many questions, and so few answers. He was sure he had taken the correct Trailmon to get to Terminal City. All throughout his doubts, he nonetheless found himself stood in front of the elevator. Nervously, he reached out a foreleg, and lightly tapped the button. Not a minute later, and the elevator obediently arrived, its doors opening as if welcoming him to the surface. Having no other real option, he boarded the elevator. Its doors slid shut, locking him within its steel walls. No music played, only the quiet thrumming of the pulley's motor sounded.
The elevator's doors opened again, and he was greeted by a corridor. Still empty, he cautiously wandered out from the elevator. He could hear the chatter of crowds, despite the time of night. Maybe he was in Terminal City?
He carried on through the corridor, eager to see something that confirmed he was in Terminal City. Other digimon, or even a tamer would put his nerves at ease. He rounded a corner, and what he saw made him freeze. It was another corridor, filled to the brim with humans. Hundreds of humans. No digimon. They all walked past him, that is, until a tiny red-haired human stopped and stared at him.
She giggled, "look, look, it's huge! Can I keep that one?" She questioned a larger human, tugging at her skirt. "Daddy always lets me keep any big bugs I find!"
The larger human turned to look at whatever her daughter was on about, and promptly screamed.

Why was she awake at 3 AM, again? Oh, right; her fellow classmates had invited her to a pub after classes. Amy, having nothing better in which to spend her night on a Friday, had accepted the invitation. The result? She had enjoyed herself for sure, but had collided with the truth a little too late for her liking.
Nobody lived in the same area she did, and that... forced her to endure the journey home alone in the dead of night, all while... being slightly tipsy. The brunette was still well aware of her surroundings, and could probably even run if she put her mind onto it, but she wasn't doing algebra any time soon.
She was grateful that she could truly enjoy the city's landscape; night and day where like two polar opposites, and she had to admit that the dark hours had a strange charm to them. The mostly silent streets, up to the point that she could hear the soft breeze whistling through the trees as she advanced through the street, the colorful neon signs that adorned some of the buildings as she passed through them, and above all, the fact that instead of a busy city in where everyone perpetually was in a hurry, she now saw stillness... and people wanting to have fun.
Who'd have guessed, Shibuya was beginning to grow on her. Sure, Japan was a weird country, but its positive traits seemed to outweigh its negatives at every turn. That made Amy feel a bit satisfied; staying here had been a good choice. But... those were enough idle thoughts; she had finally arrived to the terminal. Descending some stairs, she found herself searching for a map, gazing at it intently as soon as she did. Now she needed to concentrate; she was currently in Central Shibuya, and needed to find the shortest path towards the west side of the ward, where her apartment was located. So, the line she had to take was...
Amelie was just about to answer that question when a scream pretty near her pierced her concentration and shattered it into tiny pieces. "Really?" She muttered under her breath. As much as Japanese people prided themselves of their politeness, screaming at this time in the morning probably didn't qualify for it. And the worst part was that it wasn't stopping.
Searching for the source of the repetitive and annoying noise, the teenager found herself staring a pretty... peculiar scene. A small girl that looked at something with a measure of excitement and what she could guess was her mother, screaming as if the devil was about to reap her soul. Coming closer to see what was eliciting such reactions, Amy's own was probably a middle ground between the other two women.
What she had in front of her was something that looked like a gigantic centipede of sorts, but it didn't take a genius to see that whatever that was, it wasn't a mere beast. Maybe it was the her being slightly drunk, but on its eyes, she could see something that she hadn't seen in any animal; its eyes shone with emotion, almost as if he too was... confused? She'd probably blame the alcohol later, but the girl crouched down, trying to get on eye level with her new acquaintance.
"Um... hi." She greeted, a bit awkwardly. "Are you... are you lost or something? I can help you if you want to..."

Rinji panicked at the seemingly never-ending scream of the human, and the incessant giggling at the small human's reaction. There were so many humans, more than he'd ever dreamed of seeing. And this one didn't seem too happy with him. Had he done something he wasn't supposed to to the little human? The screaming attracted the attention of bystanders, who suddenly seemed to become aware of the massive insect looking back and forth between the humans - bewildered by their behaviour.
Indeed, they were causing such a stir that he began considering simply running away. Suddenly, before he could even think of somewhere to run to, another human approached. This one's 'fur' was brown, and she seemed... slightly out of it? She was also taller than the large human; was she going to tell him off for upsetting the other human? He glanced nervously between her and the other humans, wishing that he could just disappear.
"Um... hi," he almost didn't hear her thanks to the baffled chatter of the crowd, but she crouched down to his level, roughly four feet, and gently asked him, "Are you... are you lost or something?" This caught his attention. Rinji looked at her - would she really help him? "I can help if you want to..." The way she pronounced her words, it sounded slurred and slightly strained, but that didn't matter to him in the moment.
He almost couldn't hold back his relief, "I - I don't know where I am - what did I do to upset the other human?" The little human was now hugging him, her hands holding onto him while she made a 'squee' noise in delight. How could one human be so upset at him and another so happy? The mother had stopped screaming now, and was desperately trying to pry her daughter off of him.
The crowd's muttering and gossiping suddenly strengthened, and Rinji peered past the humans. His eyesight was blurry, but he could see a large group of humans approaching. Something was terribly wrong; there would be no apologising to so many people at once. "Please," he whispered, "is there any way out of here?" He was practically begging, staring deep into the oceanic eyes of the nicer human.

If somebody had told Amy she'd get to meet some kind of sentient centipede on her way home, she'd have dismissed that as nonsense. After all, talking arthropods didn't exist, right? Had she been totally sober, she'd questioned her sanity. Luckily, right now she didn't have the time for that.
She felt really bad for the oversized centipede; it was obvious he wasn't having a good time, and even if she had a little girl clinging to him, it was obvious that he was garnering the wrong kind of attention. She had to think fast or things that neither would like will happen. "Uuuuhhh... I'll explain you later."
Why one human was upset? Seriously? She could've told him that was a natural reaction from anybody who saw what they'd call as an "oversized bug" but that probably would come off as rude. Not freaking out, or rather... hugging him like that little girl were unusual reactions.
Amelie began to take notice on how the people around them began to talk; she had already wasted too much time, but... how was she supposed to fix this situation? The fact that the older woman seemed to be desperate to separate centipede guy and little girl wasn't doing much to improve the situation. She couldn't come up with any ideas, at least until she heard his pleas. He wanted to get out of here. Well... here goes nothing.
"I can do that..." This wasn't her most brilliant plan, for sure. But it was simple enough. "But you'll have to trust me." The brunette took a deep breath; she'd need to concentrate in order to do this without failing horribly. Three seconds afterwards, she picked up centipede guy, effectively undoing little girl's grip over him. She stood up, and after spending a second or two on settling him as comfortably as she could on her arms, she... broke into a sprint out of the station and into the night.
All while silently praying to not to slip and fall. She had to thank life for its little things when she had chosen to wear sandals this night; heels would have been utterly dreadful in a situation like this.

"So, where are we going this time? I really hope it isn't the tundra this time."
"I promise, it's not the tundra. Or the Dark Area. We're just gonna have a nice, relaxing da- Wait, what?"
It turned out when bolting out of a train station, it was very likely you would end up running into somebody. Some of those somebodies were much more prepared to deal with the sudden chaos than others. On the other hand, some of those somebodies had bad legs and weighed less than 100 pounds, and were very easy to trample. Such was the case for Elliot, caught off guard as he suddenly saw a brown blur charging towards him. He tried to spring out of the way on reflex, but he wasn't exactly the best at balancing. Slipping a little, he tumbled to the ground in his attempt at getting out of the way. While it thankfully meant he escaped a trampling, he still didn't take the fall too gracefully.
Isaac handled it much more easily, hopping back slightly while running over to help Elliot up. He shook his fist irritably at the passing blur, raising his voice to make sure they heard him. "Hey! Watch where you're going next time, you . . . " he said, trailing off as he tried to focus on the identity of the newcomer. It wasn't one person but two. Or, rather, one person and one strange new being. "You . . giant . . . centipede? What the heck was that? How the heck was that? Then, after a few seconds of shock, he realized it was probably a Digimon. Duh.
Talk of giant bugs caught Elliot's attention, however. He immediately popped himself off the ground, fumbling for his walking stick to make sure he wouldn't end up slipping over again. "Giant centipede? Where?" Elliot asked, bright eyes darting around the station's outskirts. "I wanna see! I wanna see!"
Isaac sighed. His brother was terrified of silly old zombies, but amazed by giant bugs? He just couldn't understand that. "I swear, if you watched where you walked as much as you looked for bugs, you probably wouldn't end up getting run over like that." Whether they stopped or kept running, Isaac would shoot a very pointed glare in the direction of their guests for the day. Maybe he should see about getting that chip on his shoulder buffered out.

When the girl suddenly picked him up, he squeaked in surprise. He'd never been picked up quite... like this. He felt her stumble a bit as she adjusted her hold of him - was she drunk? Did humans even get drunk?
"Aaaaah!" He yelped, when she suddenly took off like she was on fire. Everything became a blur around him. She was so quick! How could potentially intoxicated humans even run this fast!? Maybe it makes them faster, he thought. Then, without warning, the pair almost completely crashed into more humans.
One of them, the light-haired one, angrily yelled at them before he made direct eye contact with Rinji. The anger was soon replaced with confusion. "Sorry!" Was the only thing Rinji could think to say, completely embarrassed to be held like a digi-bride.
The other one had taken a tumble, and looked a little dazed while he brushed himself off. All of a sudden, the boy seemed to hear what his friend had said, and snapped out of it. He seemed excited, but all Rinji could do was wriggle in the girl's grip - was he slipping?
He looked up at the girl, but she was still busy running, a determined look on her face as she sprinted. Meanwhile, Rinji was still completely upside-down, unable to grasp his legs onto anything, even as he squirmed. Then, the ceiling gave way to sky - blanketed in an inky darkness. In contrast, bright lights and neon signs flashed everywhere. It must have been 3:30AM by now, but still groups of humans clustered in the street. Rinji suddenly felt very overwhelmed. It stank of fumes, humans, and strange noises.
He had never known anything apart from The Village of Beginnings, and Server Woods. A very unwelcome idea wormed into his mind... he could have entered the human's world. Digimon weren't taught much, if anything, about humans. The meeting he had with a tamer was the one and only human he'd ever met.
Suddenly feeling very sick, maybe it was the girl's running, or the urban fumes, or his sudden revelation - but he needed her to stop. Even if it were just in an alley - she probably needed a break too; humans might be fast, but surely they can't run forever.
"Please can we stop for a minute?" he fumbled, still trying to flip himself upright. He felt very exposed with his underside facing up.

Running in the middle of the night with a relatively huge, sentient centipede. Hadn't it been for the strange sense of urgency the situation had, Amy would've probably given herself a pat in the back for breaking her perception of the concept "bizarre" forever. Not to say that being focused was a burden a bit hard to bear for her slightly addled brain, but, as long as she could get them both out of this strange situation, she'd be satisfied with herself.
The teenager'd be immensely thankful if people would stop springing outta nowhere, though. Like that pair of kids she had almost collided with. "S-sorry!" She parroted right after centipede guy. Had Amy had more time to ponder their sudden almost-crash, she'd asked herself what two definitely underage kids were doing out at this time of the night, but... she obviously didn't.
Still running, the brunette got a sudden request from the passenger in her arms. He wanted to... stop? She could swear that she hadn't ran that much, but maybe that was adrenaline altering her perception of time... or maybe it was alcohol? It could be both.
Amelie quickly scanning her surroundings. A place to stop, a place to stop... well, that had to do the trick.
A public restroom just by the border of a park. Not exactly the most private of places, but at this time of the night it would be enough, right? Lest to say, it was her only idea at the moment. On her last legs, she gave one final spring towards the place.
Luckily, she found it seemingly deserted, making a sigh of utter relief escape the brunette's lips as she collapsed on the floor, exhaustion shown on her every feature. "Th-that was intense... but I think you're safe now." Speaking in between ragged breaths wasn't the most ladylike thing to do, but she didn't care at the moment. "Talk about weird meeting circumstances. Aaanyhow, name's Amy; pleased to meet you."

Thankfully, the human that had been carrying Rinji granted his request. He let out a breath he'd been holding, sighing with the girl as she fell down. She had been exhausted. So he was right, humans couldn't have infinite stamina, even when powered by alcohol - as he unintentionally caught the scent of it on her breath.
Moving past the slightly awkward realisation that she probably wasn't quite... sober, he realised where she had taken him. A bathroom. Well, a human one at least. The toilets were appropriately sized, from what he could figure, and not ridiculously designed as to accommodate digimon that could reach the size of Greymon. His stomach turned at the thought of being in the human world. How would he ever get back to his own world?
Still upside-down, he twisted to right himself in the girl's lap. The two honestly looked like a scrawled out heap of human and bug, and being on the toilet floor like this... definitely didn't help his previous motion sickness.
Nonetheless, he found himself being introduced to his unlikely saviour. "O-oh, thank you..." She was breathing hard, and letting her catch up with her own breathing was the least he could do. "You can call me Rinji, if you want." He added, after she told him her own name. The name 'Amy' definitely sounded human, and it rolled of the tongue easily. "So, umm... I guess you're a tamer? " Maybe she would know how to return to the Digital World - yet it was possible she wasn't one. She seemed to have no partner, much like the other humans he'd seen in this world.
He wondered if this meant not all humans knew what digimon were, if not all of them were tamers. But that just meant Amy should know what he was, since she had so calmly talked to him as if it were no big deal.

What a trip. Even though thirty seconds or so had passed, Amelie couldn't stop panting. Maybe she was just that exhausted. Well, at least she didn't feel a compelling need to throw up, so... guess it wasn't that bad. Between slightly ragged breaths, she heard what centipede guy had to say; basically thanking her, introducing himself as Rinji, and asking if she was... a tamer? "H-Huh?" She mumbled, not understanding quite clearly what he meant. "I'm a student, and while I've been to the circus... I wouldn't really consider a career in there. Why do you ask that, Rin-Rin? Do you come from the circus or something? Don't worry, I'm not planning on returning you there if you don't want to go back."
That made... some sense, she guessed. Rinji was such a weird animal that Amy could go with the idea that he was some kind of circus attraction or something. It wouldn't be... the weirdest circus thing she'd seen; probably bearded woman tier or so. The brunette looked at her surroundings for a second, finally getting her breath back. Still, she didn't want to stand up just yet.
"So... what were you doing in the Train Station? Were you trying to travel somewhere, then got lost? Because you can bet that happened to me while I was getting used to this city. Shibuya can definitely get a bit confusing at times, don't you think?" Was she rambling? Maybe she was, but hoped she wasn't.

"The circus?" He inquired; what was a circus? But despite Amy's strange words, he didn't interrupt her again. She seemed to be on a bit of blue streak, mumbling on about not taking him back to the... circus. She had also called him Rin-Rin, and he couldn't help but to tilt his head in confusion, much like how a dog would, at the unconventional use of his name. Maybe it was just a human thing.
One thing was for sure though, she wasn't a tamer. Unless a circus was where humans went to become tamers?
Amy then asked him what he'd been doing at the train station, and talked about a place called... Shi-boo-yah? He'd never heard of anywhere like that. The name was strange as well - it wasn't a real word, like Server Woods or Terminal City. Probably just another foreign aspect of the human world: strange names.
"Shi-boo-yah? I was trying to get to Terminal City," he stated honestly, even though she wouldn't have much idea of where it was. Rinji paused, thinking of a way to describe what the Digital World was to a human. "It's in the Digital World, where digimon live, and it's where I came from... would you know a way to get back there? I have nowhere else to go..." It was the truth, although he doubted she would know the way back, if she didn't know what a digimon was.

Now, Amy was confused. Rinji wasn't making much sense right now; he pretty much reacted as if he didn't... know what a circus was? Weird. "Wait, wait, wait. You mentioned the word "tamer", right? Then why you act that confused, Rin-Rin? I mean, is there any other way to use that word? Because as far as I know, tamers are people that work in the circus; you know, with animals and that stuff. Give me a second; I'll show you."
Having a smartphone was a blessing in this modern time and age. Somewhat sloppily, she googled the word and showed the results to Rinji. In there, various pictures of people with funny costumes and whips were working with lions, elephants and other circus animals. That was what taming was all about, right? At least as far as she knew.
But... it seemed that those wasn't the only misunderstanding between the two; now, Rinji was talking about a place called Terminal City, then about another called Digital World. "What?" The brunette mumbled, thinking no place she had ever been to had those kinds of name. Maybe the alcohol made her a bit imaginative, but... what if her new acquaintance was the kind that moved through the Underworld? Well, not him; he seemed to be a bit innocent, but what about the people that created him? Giant centipedes didn't grow on trees, after all.
So... maybe he was some kind of experiment? Or a rare specimen, for some reason deemed to be to important to be revealed to most of the humanity. Maybe these "digimon" were some kind of national secret? This was so complicated... "Uhhh... well, I have no idea how to get there, Rin-Rin. I don't know about any of those places" Lest to say, those terms had piqued her curiosity. Greatly. "But I can fix you having nowhere to go. I mean, if you don't mind, you can stay in my apartment until we find a way to get you back to home. I know it's not much, but it's all I can offer you."

Unfortunately for Elliot, and all the other giant centipede fans out there, Rinji had been long carried away in Amelie's arms. However, before it was gone, it seemed to call back to the brothers. Maybe it was just Amelie's voice echoing, but Isaac was sure he could pick out a second voice apologizing. "Sorry, bro, it's gone. But it apologized to you before going, at least," Isaac said. If anyone else had been in this position, the sentence would be incredibly baffling. Instead, both bros seemed to know exactly what was going on, Elliot realizing that this "giant centipede" may have been way more giant and way less centipede.
"Digimon?"
"Oh yeah. Definitely Digimon," he said, looking in the direction the two were trailing off in. "I . . . don't know if that was his tamer, though? He looked kinda terrified, and she looked really confused. And they're just kinda, you know. Running." Almost as soon as Isaac had said that, the two had sprinted out of view. Their pace was far from methodical before slamming into the bros, and they didn't seem to take long before getting back to full speed. Clearly they were in a hurry, and neither party seemed to understand why too well.
"Are you sure?" Elliot asked. "I mean, frightened and confused basically described our first time in the Digital World, right? Remember how we got stuck in our spirit form, and you decided the best idea was to hide under a garbage can until it wore off?"
"Oh come on! I finally got you to stop telling that story," Isaac said, puffing his cheeks somewhat indignantly. "I mean, you're right. But don't you think if they're partners, they'd understand each other enough to know how to, like, walk together?"
"Her Digimon could be hurt," Elliot pointed out. "Were you able to get a good look at them?"
"It was kind of a blur. Just got body language, and all that body language was running. Could've been a kidnapping. Could've been an injury. Could've been anything," Isaac said.
"Do you think there's any way we can help?" Once more, Elliot's compassion was stepping up to bat, the boy casting a worried glance in the direction of the departed.
"I know you like being the hero, but you gotta understand it's not that easy in the human world. What are we gonna do? Just follow them and hope they don't think we're a bunch of creepers?"
"You're right. It's really late at night . . . " Elliot remarked. Wait. It's really late at night! And the girl that was running past them had her hands way too full to do anything if, say, a mugger jumped her. Maybe Elliot was projecting a little, due to his home not exactly being in the greatest part of Shibuya, but he started hobbling off after her. "Wait! Please, be careful!" he called out, tiny voice surely swallowed up by the howling night wind.
When Elliot went running, Isaac basically had to follow. When Elliot was determined, he was very hard to deter. And that was how the two ended up by the park, Elliot slumped on a park bench in exhaustion and Isaac scanning the area for muggers. "I don't think we're going to find them," Elliot said, dejected. "I really hope they're okay."
"Told you so," Isaac responded, smiling wearily. "C'mon, we should've been home, like, ages ago."
"Can we rest here just a bit longer? I'm exhausted," Elliot said, head nestled into a tiny pillow he had propped onto the bench. "I'll go back with you soon, promise."
"That's fine," Isaac said, watching his brother like a protective hawk. Elliot was a rather light sleeper, so any nap here likely wouldn't take long at all. That said, Isaac hoped he'd wake up and get moving soon. Today had been a tiring chase with no real resolution in sight, and he just wanted to sleep it off.
It wasn't like the people they were looking for were, say, in the bathroom right next door, after all.

Now both of them wore a baffled expression on their faces. Rinji looked at the girl expectantly as she grasped for a rectangular device, tapped on it for a few seconds, and then showed him a picture.
"Umm..." he looked at the image. There were large non-digimon creatures in it, and... humans liked to dress as Piedmon? Maybe he could've explained what he meant by 'tamer' a little better, he had no idea normal humans thought it meant using whips with animals - which seemed a little cruel to Rinji.
Nonetheless, maybe he could explain it better to Amy later - when she might be feeling a little more sober, he remembered. It would be morning soon, wouldn't it? Humans seemed to prefer daytime, and he couldn't even imagine trying to navigate through this place if there were even more of them. If the human city of 'Shi-boo-yah' was as busy as it is now, it would get even more crowded in a few hours.
Amy also didn't know any way to get back to the Digital World, as he sadly expected, but offered him to come to her... apartment? Likely the human word for a home. "If it's not any trouble for you..." He politely replied, not wanting to feel like he was intruding on her space. Although he didn't have much choice in the matter.
He'd have to worry about his homesickness later, as it looked like he'd be having a sleep-over. Kind of like what he used to do with Nyaromon - where they'd sneak out together at night to sleep under the stars. And get told off by Elecmon for putting themselves in danger, he remembered fondly.
Fueled by a small twinge of hope, he nodded resolutely at the girl. After all, it was better than hiding out in the toilets all day. He got up off from the floor, made his way out through the exit, and then faltered. "Ummm... which way are we going?" He had no idea where Amy's 'apartment' was! Let alone what it looked like.
The Scolomon stared out through the darkness of the park, and caught the scent of a human that wasn't Amy. Beside the toilets, were two boys on a bench. One was sleeping, while the other was awake. Didn't they run into these two in the station?

Maybe it was just her, but Amelie could swear that Rinji seemed to be pretty confused at the sight of "tamers". Maybe the word had a different meaning for him? Alien centipedes were super weird, even if that wasn't exactly news. Still, he had accepted to come and stay on her apartment! She didn't know if those were good of bad news, but the fact that she'd have some company at her apartment was kind of a relief.
After all... even if he was a giant centipede, a friend was still a friend, right? "Oh, don't worry about it! We're going to have a lot of fun...! I think." Now that she thought of it, besides the fact the he didn't seem like a fan of going fast, Amy didn't know much about Rinji. "Oh, by the way. What do you usually do to pass time, Rin-Rin? I'm sure your... kind! has interesting hobbies."
At least that'd make for an interesting topic of conversation... as long as giant centipedes didn't fancy eating humans for fun. Rinji seemed nice enough though. Getting ready to leave, she tried to focus her sight a bit; tiredness was beginning to set in, and some time in bed was probably in order... eventually. Reaching her apartment would surely take a fair amount of time. She walked right behind Rinji, trying to not to giggle too much as his question. So much for him leading the way. "Follow me. We're going to walk for... half an hour or so. Hope you're ready."
She trusted on the journey to be relatively tranquil. After all, who'd be out at this time of the night? Probably people as tipsy as her at the very least. Or... the two boys she had ran into; hopefully no there weren't any hard feelings among them.
And... as few questions as possible.

Elliot was never a good sleeper, even when given a warm, soft bed to work with. Sitting here on a hard, creaky park bench did nothing to help with that. He was left tossing and turning, stuck between drifting off to some sort of sleep and being taken out of it by his bumpy surroundings. Isaac shot him concerned looks all the while, each unsteady snore and frustrated toss making his frown deepen a little bit more. "Are you really sure about this, bro? I mean, I don't think you're gonna get any rest at this rate," he said, reaching as if trying to rouse Elliot.
"I'm telling you, I'm fine," Elliot muttered. Elliot figured it was perfectly obvious what he was saying, but all Isaac heard was an unintelligible yawn disguising itself as words. He blinked, tilting his head in obvious confusion, before Elliot sighed and repeated it again.
"Okay, I think I get it now," Isaac said, Elliot smiling a little as his brother said that.
"I told you so-"
"I get that you can barely speak, and we need to get you home ASAP," Isaac interjected. "Seriously, do you hear yourself right now? I can barely hear what you're saying. We've been at the Digital World way too late these days, and I don't even know how far past your bedtime it is now. Mom's gonna kill me when she finds out how late we're getting home."
"C'mon, it's fine. I just need to stay here a little bit-" Elliot started, looking up to protest Isaac's point but finding himself stopping short. Coming out of the bathroom right then was what could only be described as a giant centipede. "Isaac? Do you see that?"
Isaac rolled his eyes. "Bro, it's way too early in the morning. You're probably seeing things," he said, only to find himself staring at the same sight as Elliot. "If I didn't know any better, I'd swear you drew this out on purpose," he said, almost amazed by the timing of this.
Elliot cleared his throat, trying to make sure any sleepy mumbles were out of his system now. "Hey!" he called out, trying to get the attention of the centipede and the girl who followed it. "I'm really sorry for bumping into you guys earlier. Are you okay?"
