"Moons are meant to be looked at. I wouldn't have put it there, to begin with, if I intended on holding it up with unsightly tape." No, instead she had apparently used glue, which was now giving out from the collapse of the other rooms! For the time being, however, the moon seemed to have decided to stay put. "You realize, it will fall if I walk too far, yes?" Antylamon finally inquired, while staring up at the object. She had assumed that was a given for a while, but it was always good to make sure that everyone was on the same page.
Eyes returned to look at NeoDevimon, thinking about actual doctoring skills. "It would likely be less of a 'pain', if I were a trained doctor," she pointed out, rather bluntly. "As far as the Dark Area goes, there are not many good candidates for teaching the subject, however," she added. Or, at least, when she had been fully functional, there weren't! Then again, would it have been so hard to just go someplace else to seek that sort of training? Not that it really mattered, anyway! Antylamon was perfectly content without being a 'real' doctor! There were far less annoying people that way!
As far as sleep went, however, the rabbit had to mull things over. "I suspect sleep isn't required of something that doesn't actually have a body." Given, this was Antylamon's first day as a legitimate spirit, she was only going on what she could gather currently!
Parkour? "I don't know what that is," the rabbit was quick to point out. Was it something important? And, as far as Antylamon's attempt at trying to use Asher's mind as a cheat-sheet, the summary of 'parkour' seemed to be, 'parkour is parkour', rather than anything of use! How was that a valid definition?
Pulling away from trying to figure out what the subject was, she turned to one far more familiar to recent experience. "By a thread? No. He's just fine." Why would Asher be experiencing any issues? "He had to be near a state of unconsciousness for me be able to take control. Too stubborn, otherwise, it seems." Though, it would have been a lot less painful for the spirit user, if he'd have just given up!
"Does that mean you're afraid every day?" Antylamon taunted, while thinking about how awful a fear of being stupid would be. Humans really had issues, didn't they? Their worries were just as strange. "Yes, I'm fairly certain it is. Some closed spaces, more than others." But, now the rabbit was confused. "Are you saying any of his comments are normal?" Then again, nothing Isaac really commented on seemed normal, either. Maybe abnormal was the new normal, these days.
Now that the Ultimate was trying to be helpful, she found all sorts of noises coming from Isaac! Having been entirely prepared for some sort of backlash, the Nightmare Soldier was surprised when nothing came of it. "New sounds," she hummed, rather than giving a 'you're welcome.' "See? I make a wonderful doctor." Or, something like that!
With others' careers to discuss instead, the rabbit nodded. "I wonder what they'll do now," she murmured, thoughtfully. Was there some sort of backup plan, or would they essentially be homeless? Then again, Antylamon wasn't entirely sure if she'd see the duo, to attempt to rehome them after this!
For a moment, the monster gave a confused look. It seemed almost like she had forgotten even mentioning the name, until she commented, "Merle is... Merle?" Shoulders slumped a little, trying to figure out a better descriptor. Were terms slipping her, in her 'age'? What was the name of that Digimon? "I thought you had met her. The crow. Do any of you ever bother to learn if a Spirit goes by a different name?" Apparently not! Either way, it was clear that the Beast was becoming frustrated with her own lack of words, as she uncrossed her legs and began to tap a foot in the air. "I don't recall what she is. But, she was my messenger, I suppose you could say."

So that was further confirmation that Antylamon was basically the god of this world, it seemed. "If you could create a moon and put it in the sky in the first place, couldn't you just remake it without glue or tape or anything?" Isaac asked. The alternative was imagining Antylamon running around gluing the thing together, working with artistic precision. It was kind of hilarious to picture, especially since moons were far bigger than Antylamon.
Her explanation as to why the moon wouldn't fall made sense, though. It also made Isaac feel like a total idiot for not realizing the signs sooner. "And then when we leave, it all goes," he said, taking this chance to truly admire the world that Antylamon had crafted. It was small and placid, but it was really nice! Probably better than what he'd create if he was made the creator. For example, that moon would've been on fire or something badass like that. Now that he realized the room was not doomed until they left it, he started to feel quite guilty about his earlier rushing of Antylamon. "I'm sorry. I didn't realize. If that's the case, I don't mind staying back for a bit longer.
Will you miss it?"
It was a hefty question. Isaac didn't want to focus too hard on it, because otherwise things could get really awkward really fast. Instead, the subject of medicine came up. "I've been told a Mummymon runs a clinic around these parts," Isaac pointed out, relaying the information that Dr. Cat M.D. had previously given him. "Maybe he could give you some pointers, if you're interested." He looked at Meicoomon for a second, stifling a chuckle. "And my doctor back at Whitewater was a cat," he added.
Hearing Antylamon admit that she didn't know everything was interesting. That said, her answer seemed to point towards totems, at least loaded ones, not really needing sleep like humans and Digimon did. It must have been interesting for them, being in a perpetual state of half-baked existence. "Makes sense. Or you could be like my brother, and just really bad about sleeping," he joked, a slight smile forming under his mask.
She also didn't know about parkour, it seemed. "It's basically a fancy word for running and jumping on things," Isaac admitted. "A lot of people that are really good at it can basically climb entire buildings by themselves and jump from roof to roof. It's actually really cool to watch sometimes." Would a levitating rabbit who could surely bound over entire houses be as impressed, though?
At least Antylamon confirmed that Asher was well and truly unconscious. "Figures it'd take passing out for him to let go," Isaac said. "Probably for the best, though. I know I'd rather take a nap than be a prisoner in my own mind. Way less squabbling, too."
There was enough squabbling as is! "Cute," Isaac muttered, rolling all six of his eyes at Antylamon's barb. That was too easy of one! That said, at least she agreed with Isaac on how odd Asher was. "Not really, to be frank," he said.
When not patting herself on the back over her doctorly skills, Antylamon turned her thoughts towards the comrades she separated from. It was no surprise they'd be on her mind, after literal generations of service. "I'm sure you'll see them again," Isaac said, thoughtful. "If there's one thing I've learned about this world, it's that it's full of coincidences."
For example, the fact that Asher's beast spirit and beast fraction were so closely related was either a major coincidence or a sign of something greater. "Ah, that makes sense," Isaac said. "Is her presence helping you feel more comfortable with Asher as a host?" There had to be some air of familiarity there, right?
"I'd love to hear about how you two got to know each other, if you wouldn't mind" Isaac said. "And do either of you know the third spirit Asher has? The Kinkakumon?"

Eyes rolled, before shifting to stare at Isaac. "Why don't you make a moon, and then tell me how easy it is?" It was like Isaac thought that the thing was painted on the ceiling or something! "And, while I would have loved to consider that, I haven't had arms in quite some time." That seemed like a perfectly logical excuse for a rabbit to be unable to make a far better moon!
The Antylamon gave a nod, as Isaac finally seemed to understand the circumstances. "That is, if the ceiling doesn't give way, when I walk under it," she pointed out, with a motion to a small crack that had began to spider across the sky. Still staring at the crack, the monster gave a shrug, "others will surely miss it more than I will."
Another thing that the rabbit didn't seem overly interested in was practicing under someone else. "And, do you intend to convince This One to allow me to use my body to practice medicine, when he could be doing something else?" Such as sleeping, or being entirely useless! Yeah. Those looked way too important for the redhead to just be willing to let Antylamon do what she wanted! "I have little use for that knowledge now, anyway." What was a spirit going to do with a bunch of medicinal knowledge? She already knew enough to keep herself alive, anyway, and that was all that really mattered!
Given a chance to be included in the conversation, Whiskers crossed her arms. "Cats make great doctpurrs! Haven't mew ever heard that befur?" If only Whiskers could have gotten a nice, safe job like that! Some cats just couldn't get that kind of education, though! "A lot of 'cat'mons turn into angels and stuff, so it makes a lot of sense." Why wouldn't an angel want to heal someone? ...Then again, that was just an assumption. It was entirely possible for a cat to turn into a giant dragon, instead! Which made far less sense, as far as being a doctor, but Meicoomon wouldn't judge.
"There is a name for 'running and jumping on things' that isn't just that?" Why did people need a name for jumping on things? It already had a word! 'Jumping!' "I can climb buildings," the rabbit commented, following Isaac's theory that levitating monsters would not find this an amazing feat. "Can you?" Why ask a question that she already knew the answer to? It just seemed silly.
Another shrug was given, while shifting to a more comfortable sitting position. "I'm a prisoner in his mind," she was rather quick to point out. "I suspect I can't have control of this body, without his consent, anyway." Glancing around the room, the monster seemed to debate this fact briefly, before giving a nod of confirmation. "Otherwise, I doubt he would be able to act so naturally, with his current spirits."
Whether or not Antylamon ever saw her housekeepers again, she wasn't going to dwell on the subject. "They haven't lived outside of my protection before. It's up to them, from now on, I suppose." That wasn't overly promising, but with any luck, the duo wouldn't be absolute morons!
What reason was there to be uncomfortable, though? "Her presence does nothing for me. I was never uncomfortable." Aside from when she was entirely trapped within a totem. That called for some stiff legs! "I expected her to already be here. After all, I can't be at full stren--" There was an awkward pause, as the beast seemed to realize something. "--He's missing one," she uttered, curving her spine backwards slightly, while annoyance filled her tone. "Isn't there an order spirit users are supposed to follow?" Be careful, Antylamon. You might make certain spirit users feel stupid!
Exhaling, the Digimon decided to focus on a different topic. Such as the present spirits! "I found Merle near this place, before I built it. Being a vaccine attributed rookie in the Dark Area can draw the wrong attention." Then again, surely, being a Holy Beast could have meant the same for Antylamon, if she were tiny and weak. "It's a typical 'protect the weak' story. Afterward, she took an interest in me, and had a desire for knowledge. So, I kept her. Two can accomplish tasks more quickly than one, after all." Such as building a room with a moon! That definitely benefited from extra hands!
"Wouldn't Kinkakumon be considered His second spirit?" Considering someone didn't follow designated orders, at least. Not that numbers really mattered, did they? Regardless! "Of course I know her," the Holy Beast began, a condescending hint to her tone, "she is family, after all." Barely pausing, the Digimon felt the need to add, "and, no, that was not a pun on the Nightmare Soldier Family."

"I helped Elliot make a moon for a science project once," Isaac said. "Foam. Spray paint. A piece of string to hang it off of. Wasn't as big and nice looking as your moon, but one of us has cosmic power and the other's a 15 year old, so it's not quite a fair comparison." That said, Isaac could at least say from experience that it wasn't too difficult to make a moon. It would just be a really crappy moon for some diorama about the solar system.
It was a nice memory. Shame Antylamon's nice memories were all so much more bittersweet. "Others?" he asked. There were Antlyamon's attendants, too, but was this place really full of so many other people? "Who usually came here, if I can ask?" Maybe this was a sanctuary, for those lost and confused in the Dark Area. Maybe it was just a shrine for Antylamon and other disciples of hers. There were a strangely huge amount of possibilities for a place as barren as the Dark Area.
Antylamon didn't seem too big on the clinic idea. "Yeah, probably not. He'd probably prefer to sleep and forget about today, honestly," Isaac admitted. "You're right, though. Not like you have as pressing of a need to know surgery when you have a literal healing touch." That said, if Antylamon ever was curious, he already gave her all of the details that she would need. He wouldn't be surprised if she merely wanted to pursue an outside interest. NeoDevimon apparently had an interest in poetry, if his attempts at interfering with Isaac's letters to Maia were any indication . . .
If only he wasn't horrible at it.
Apparently cats were good doctors, though. Meicoomon's explanation for why made sense, at least. "What do demons count as?" Isaac asked. "I'm fairly sure summoning blood-red prisms isn't exactly the purrview of angels. Wait, did Isaac seriously just make a cat pun? Judging by the stoic expression on NeoDevimon's mask, he may not have even noticed what he was doing.
Isaac, frankly, didn't think Parkour was a term that needed to exist either. "Don't blame me. Blame the French," he said. "I've tried climbing buildings, but I can't say I've had much luck yet. Maybe if I used Devidramon or NeoDevimon it'd be easy, but then it wouldn't be me climbing the buildings, now would it?" One of these days, Isaac would have the strength to do it himself!
Antylamon presented a good counter-argument. Were spirits just prisoners in their minds, too? Then again, they were already totems, so it wasn't exactly like they had freedom of movement in the first place. It was a strange midpoint, and one Isaac wasn't exactly thinking about the ethical implications of just now.
At least not everyone there lacked this free will. For example, Wizardmon and Chameleomon. "I hope it all goes well for them," Isaac said, feeling the slightest pang of guilt over putting them out of a job. Then again, if he didn't come they'd put Asher out of consciousness, so fair trade-off.
Antylamon seemed to be the head of this little arrangement. The others being there would bring her to full strength, apparently. Before she could further explain, however, she pointed out that something was missing. Considering that Asher had his sprite, human, and beast fraction, there was only one thing Isaac could think was lost. Ironically, it was the exact same one that he was missing. "Uh . . ." he started, looking around nervously. "Yeah. An order. Who would ever break the order, right?" he said, trying not to call attention to SkullKnightmon's presence. What Antylamon didn't know couldn't be used to mock him.
He cringed a little as he listened to the poor situation Yatagarasumon ended up in. "That makes sense. It was nice of you to help keep her safe," Isaac said, voice a bit more placated. He wasn't nearly as agitated by Antylamon anymore after having quite a few examples of her better nature. "Many of my other spirits were the same. Although where NeoDevimon comes from, I have no real idea."
NeoDevimon tensed up majorly as Isaac said that. "I don't think he wants to share," Isaac said, all of NeoDevimon's muscles unclenching as he accepted Isaac's refusal to dig further.
That said, family? Isaac did some brief mental math. Bunny + Amazon = ? ? ? "Sisters?" Isaac guessed, wondering just how the heck these two were related to one another. And where did Ginkakumon fit into this? Would Asher have to bring a whole family reunion to his doorstep at some point?

"Can your foam moon glow, and move across the sky?" It was probably ugly. Antylamon didn't want an ugly moon in her home. "I could be fifteen. How would you know?" This seemed like a good point! Sort of. Depending on which world's years they were working with! Did the Digital World even exist fifteen years ago in Human years? Who really knew? Antylamon wasn't going to point out any potential flaws with that logic! "And, I certainly don't have cosmic powers. If I did, this would be a far nicer place." Instead, it had a moon that wanted to fall out of the sky!
If it wasn't already obvious that Isaac had no idea what this place had been, it was glaringly so now! "Many creatures visited. I did call it a sanctuary, after all." It felt like that should be obvious, by the Antylamon had to remind herself that Isaac was clearly not the smarter of the brothers.
But, did Isaac really think that Asher would forget about the day? "He's going to remember all of this. You are aware of that, correct?" No, nobody was probably aware of that! "I don't have the capacity to store memories from here out. Anything I do with his body, he will remember." And probably be really irritated about it! "Surgery does give me a reason to cut into people, though," the rabbit admitted in a far too cheerful manner.
Trying to ignore just how alarming it was for Antylamon to attempt a surgical procedure, Whiskers continued her conversation with Isaac without even glancing at the other Digimon. "That's purrt of the 'and stuff'!" What else would it be? "So are dragons!" Why was Meicoomon purring like that? It surely couldn't be due to a certain DevilMonster making a catpun, couldn't it?
Antylamon was far less interested in catpuns, however. Now, anything to argue about? That was more her hobby. "Sure it is. You're the one controlling the body." While she entirely understood what Isaac was saying, there was no way the rabbit wouldn't take up an opportunity to be difficult!
"If you happen to see either of them again, do tell them Cipher Jungle is wonderful this time of year." Chances were, both Digimon had already taken off in random directions, but it was always a good idea to give helpful ideas. "...What time of year is it, anyway?" Being in your own bubble really made it hard to tell for reality's sake!
If only Antylamon could see Isaac's thought process. Either he was thinking too hard, or maybe just too little. It was hard to say, especially since the rabbit was completely unaware of it! One thing was pretty clear though: "You didn't follow the order either, did you?" NeoDevimon hopefully would never need to lie to someone! "I swear, someone needs to pass out a guidebook for you children." At some point, every human probably thought about needed a book for this stuff!
Tilting her head, the digimon lifted a foot up, as if demonstrating squashing something. "I don't know if it was really protecting. I almost stepped on her many times." Maybe that was part of why the Antylamon decided to float everywhere, instead! "Not many that would want to pick on her would also like to deal with me." Oh, no. There was Egotistical Antylamon again, it seemed! "But I did not have to do much to actually protect her, after the initial meeting." Of course not! Nobody wanted to risk getting stepped on to get close enough!
"I would assume that NeoDevimon came from an egg," the rabbit pointed out. "But, what do I know? He sounds like a broken washing machine. Perhaps, that is his true origin." Yes, a broken washing machine, revived in the form of a Vampire-Demon-Spirit-Thing!
It was surprising how quickly Isaac actually caught onto the relation, though! Providing a nod, the rabbit seemed moderately enthused that it was one less piece of the puzzle that she had to fill in on her own. "Sisters," she confirmed, "not by blood, of course. Rabbits and Oni surely cannot originate from the same data." Then again, this was the Digital World she was talking about! "But, the best families often are not entirely crafted from the same source. Wouldn't you agree?"

"No. My moon kinda sucked," Isaac admitted. "We got a flashlight wedged behind the diorama to show how the sun hits the moon, at least. And a pulley to move it from one side of the box to another. There was even a little cardboard cutout of the Earth we could raise up to show off solar eclipses. Elliot was real proud of that." That diorama on phases of the moon helped give Elliot a really good grade that semester. For once, Isaac's ability to improv stuff together actually made him the smart one. Was that a tone of slight satisfaction in his voice as he described this?
Any chance to be proud went away when he was left thinking again. How old were Digimon supposed to be? "Time's 7 times as fast in here, right?" Isaac said. "That'd make you younger than my phone, in human years. Weird." Sure, Isaac's phone get replaced with a Digivice, but the replacement he got wasn't much more advanced than his old one. As much as Isaac loved hopping on hip trends when it came to clothes, he generally felt content working with older models of gadgets. Elliot was way more into going from version 7 to version 7.1 every time something new hit.
How many versions did Antylamon's moon go through? "So how did you make it, then?" Isaac asked. There was a touch of genuine curiosity in his voice, but deep down he had the feeling that Antylamon would take this chance to screw with him some more. She seemed to really enjoy that.
Isaac nodded as she reiterated that the place was a sanctuary. "Wasn't sure if it was a sanctuary for others, or for your own final rest," he said. "I mean, most sanctuaries don't have giant mirror mazes. But I imagine Chameleomon was glad to have something to play around with."
For a second Isaac wanted to correct Antylamon and remind her that humans could totally forget about days that they clearly experienced, or at least try their damn best to. However, after having repeatedly failed to do so through the rest of the day, he tried to do a little something called reading between the lines. Still, why would he try and commit as stressful of a day as this to memory? "I'm not surprised," Isaac said. "He's had a lot of shocks today. Like it or not, they'll stick." Isaac, as much as he hated to admit it, was feeling bad about being one of those shocks.
At least Antylamon wasn't trying to cut into him. Right now.
"Digimon evolutions are weird," Isaac said, shrugging his long, gangly shoulders. "Still wonder why so many of them get really humanlike at some point." Here was a fun one. Fox. Wind weasel. Cute priestess. How the heck did that last part happen?
Speaking of human physiques, Antylamon's comment left him thinking about his own. "Sort of," Isaac said. "Part of parkour's about self-improvement and getting stronger, too. When I'm using another's body, I can't really make progress with that. But . . . " This was a bit of a long shot, and Isaac felt a little dumb for saying it, but nevertheless it came slipping out. "If we get hurt, a really bad wound sticks around. So I'm wondering if that extends to physique, too." There seemed to be a few wisps of steam rising from NeoDevimon's mask, which was ever-so-slightly glowing. Was Isaac seriously blushing over this idea?
He shook his head, trying to take his mind off of being strong enough to sweep Maia off of her feet. "I'll let them know," he said, stammering ever-so-slightly as he snapped out of his thoughts. "Time, time . . . I can't say I'm sure, honestly. Every time I go to the Digital World, the weather seems impossibly stable. It's been a week and a half in human world time and I've already got no idea what season it is."
Isaac sighed as Antylamon brought up the order of spirit totems. At least now any blush of embarrassment was dying down in favor of slight frustration. "The Digivice pointed me to Yasyamon first," he explained. "It didn't alert me to my human fraction until I went deep into the tundra. It was an . . . interesting time." Some of the most deadly opponents which Isaac had faced appeared there, and for what? Their weakest spirits besides Impmon and Veemon?
Not that Isaac minded too much. SkullKnightmon was pretty awesome, all things considered.
Antylamon's protection seemed to basically boil down to "I exist, don't screw with me." Considering that Antylamon could apparently create moons, Isaac sure as heck wasn't questioning this. "At least she was safe," he said, figuring a hands-off guardian was better than an intentionally malicious one.
At mention of his egg, NeoDevimon seemed to tense up a bit. His head immediately snapped towards Antylamon, lolling slightly. "That was when Devimon was born," Isaac's voice most certainly not being used by Isaac right now. "NeoDevimon was born later." As quickly as it happened, the cyberdemon's head un-lolled back into place. Isaac's six eyes all blinked, looking very frazzled right now. "I get the feeling we shouldn't ask anymore," he said, rubbing his neck sorely. Distending your own vertebrae hurt!
Briefly, Isaac thought back to the people he did consider family. Elliot, a brother by only half of his blood. Alicia, who had basically snatched him up one day and said "we're siblings, deal with it." Maia, for whom he had a little stack of notes dutifully being written each week to help cope with how badly he missed her. About the only full relation he truly had was his mom. Both he could possibly consider a father, he'd much rather not. "Very much so," he said, resolution firm in his voice.
"And how did you meet her?"

Isaac's moon sounded awful. "It sounds questionable," the rabbit pointed out, while staring at her own moon. At least she hadn't made it out of cardboard, of all things! Eyes shifted back to the NeoDevimon, while listening to the math. "I've never visited your world. I have no idea how time works there." That seemed like an entirely fair response! What would a giant rabbit monster do in the human world? It didn't even sound fun! "Is your phone young?" Could phones have ages? Humans were strange creatures, indeed.
There was a pause, while the monster looked back at her moon again. "I don't really know," she admitted, deadpan, "it started as a couple of nightlights on some sort of track. One day, we were fixing something and noticed that it wasn't a nightlight anymore and the track was gone." Weirder things happened in this world! Night lights could totally turn into suns and moons, right? "The best we came up with, is that the building reacted with my data in an odd way." Or those were some really high quality nightlights. But, Antylamon wasn't going to put a lot of thought into it, it seemed! "The sun was literally a ping pong ball with a tiny light in it. I don't know how these things happen." At least they weren't made out of glowsticks!
"Yes, the mirrors weren't my idea. This floor was more meant for guests. And meditation." It was a shame everything peaceful was going to come crumbling down sooner, than later! "I did not build it with the intent of it being a resting place. Do I look like I want to be stuck with a human?" From her enthusiasm throughout this entire endeavor, the obvious answer would be no!
Especially with a human as strange as the one she was now strapped to. "Haven't you learned? He really doesn't seem to forget many things. Shocks give him a reason to remember, especially," she hummed, with a tilt of the head. His mind was going to be such a cluttered place, wasn't it?
Whiskers shrugged at the idea of most creatures seeming to get pretty humanoid. "I do that too. I think." Did she, still? It was hard to tell. "It's pawsible we're sort of based on hyoomans?"
This also warranted a shrug from Antylamon, who knew very little about human structures. She had no reason to care about them, until today! "You could always test it. The only downfall is if you... fall." Well, that was obvious! It was going to hurt no matter what Isaac fell as! But, wait, was that smoke? "Is your face on fire?" Should she be concerned? Asher would probably be pretty mad if she let his friend combust!
The Digital World was full of weird things. Weird seasons. Weird people. Weird inability to follow simple orders! "Aren't fractions supposed to be more 'user friendly'? Why else would we have picked them?" Maybe the digivices were to blame. It didn't make sense if people were having a hard time finding their weaker spirits!
Antylamon would easily leave out the part where Merle was entirely at risk at getting squashed, herself, until she had reached a larger stage. It was literally like squashing bugs, as far as the holy beast was concerned! Merle was just a lot less obnoxious than the others! Given, the crow was never the overly talkative type!
The thought was lost, as both Whiskers and Antylamon watched with wide eyes. While the Meicoomon shuffled back a little further behind the TerrorRabbit, Antylamon's response was to actually lean slightly toward the suddenly-different Spirit User. "Hmm?" The Digimon listened, curiously, as a smile began to form across its face. This was interesting! Spirit users were so interesting! But, once Isaac had returned to himself, the rabbit was leaning heavily over him, ears drooping in front of her from the angle that she had taken. Rabbits had alarming smiles, considering they really didn't have mouths for such a thing!
But, the sound of bells and laughter should have made it clear that, at least for once, it wasn't malicious! "I understand now," she chimed, with strange warmth. Sure, she didn't understand entirely what had happened, but the Nightmare Soldier could gain ideas from such a response! And, on top of that, it was still alive in some sense! "I am suddenly very fond of this form."
"I'm suddenly afuraid of both of mew."
Oh, what a killjoy!
With a moment to recompose, Antylamon lazily leaned back, away from NeoDevimon again. From the memories that she had already shuffled through from Asher, she was well aware that Isaac would have agreed with such a question. "I suppose, the term is 'adopted'?" How, exactly, had they met? Too much time had passed! Antylamon couldn't even provide exact details! "I was small. Apparently, it runs in the 'family' to have a bad habit of collecting creatures. She was smaller, and loud. Unlike other small beings."

"It's slower where I'm from," Isaac said. "If you spent a whole day in our world, then came back here, a whole week would have passed. You could be here for what feels like days, only to come back just in time for the next sunrise." He looked wistfully towards the sky, sighing. "I left my brother 70 days ago. To him, it's been maybe a week and a half," he said, the tone of his voice quite defeated.
"By phone standards, my phone's ancient," Isaac said. "It's only about three years, though. Elliot lucked out and got a brand new one, at least, although even that's already two versions behind now." Man, it was kind of annoying how quickly phones became obsolete, wasn't it?
That said, Isaac did a double take when he heard how Antylamon made her little sanctuary. "You're kidding," he said. "So you just made yours out of arts and crafts materials too? Man, if only I knew that's how it worked. Then I wouldn't have thrown that diorama out, like, 5 years ago." Was it seriously that long ago already? In the Digital World, of course, it would've been 35 years slowly dragging by.
Isaac hoped he'd get out of here before he started moving years past Maia.
"Figured," he said, nodding as Antylamon brought up the mirrors. "Still, a shame such a beautiful place is coming undone. Maybe in the future, you'll get the chance to found a new sanctuary. And it'll have the full force of several Spirit Users making sure it would be safe." At the very least, Isaac would stand by Asher is such an initiative was made. He was surprised how boldly he made the offer, though. Maybe now that the fatigue and crankiness had past by, the good heart beating beneath Isaac's chest was showing itself again.
"He really doesn't," Isaac agreed. "Just another way he's stubborn. I bet the words 'don't worry about it,' make him worry even harder, too."
In all the talk with Antylamon, Isaac couldn't forget about Whiskers. "I did notice Digimon Society seems quite . . . human, a lot of the time," Isaac said. "I wouldn't be surprised if to a degree there was some inspiration. Although, based off of? By who?
. . . Maybe I shouldn't ask that. It opens the door for a lot of weird questions." Isaac seemed to be stepping back from this chat, but when was the last time we cared about what Isaac thinks?
Thankfully, by now Isaac's face had cooled down. He no longer felt like someone was introducing him face-first to the world's most embarrassing Foreman grill. "NeoDevimon reacts quite strangely to emotions," he said, figuring that explanation would be sufficiently. "I would greatly appreciate not experiencing his take on embarrassment again." At least he took the term red-hot blush to his logical conclusion!
NeoDevimon was certainly less user friendly than a fraction. "Sometimes, it's about where I search, I guess," Isaac said. "If it's any consolation, Orochimon is by far one of my most agreeable forms. I can even tap into his power despite the corruption I've been experiencing. And while I haven't had much chance to use SkullKnightmon yet-" Thank you, liquid time. "-his form also felt quite natural to use. If only my Digivice let me know where he was before, you know, already finding Devidramon."
Of course NeoDevimon suddenly butting in caught Antylamon's attention. Briefly, Isaac wished that the two would just get a room. Then again, it was the first time Isaac had made the spirit genuinely smile, so maybe this strange fascination wasn't all bad. "You do?" Isaac asked, just as puzzled as Whiskers was. "What did he mean?" Would it upset NeoDevimon if others prodded about what he meant? Isaac's curiosity briefly won out over his sense of self-preservation.
That said, apparently Antylamon found the concept of collecting other Digimon great. First Yatagarasumon, now Kinkakumon? "Was there one bigger than you, too?" Isaac asked, wondering if this was just kids adopting kids all the way down.

That seemed like quite the time difference! Why were the worlds so strange, like that? "I'm glad I don't know anyone in your world. This sounds confusing, for maintaining relationships." Hah, what relationships? Antylamon didn't have any friends, regardless of which world she was in! She hadn't been breathing in far too long to know anyone! Or, at least, that was a logical assumption.
"Night lights are not arts and crafts," the rabbit argued, lightly. "And, I didn't know that was how it worked, either. I was just fixing walls with data, rather than finding supplies that were durable." After all, what did someone use to ensure that buildings wouldn't be absolutely destroyed in the Dark Area? It wasn't as easy as some might think! Then again, maybe times had changed.
If only Antylamon could have better explored this place, since becoming a totem. It really was a shame. "I'm still trying to think of a way to save this one," she admitted, lowly. "I will not make another." Sure, Isaac was just trying to make the holy beast feel better, but she was too stubborn to fully accept it. And, her human simply wouldn't have the time to dedicate to such a task! On top of that, what did Antylamon really have to protect anyway?
Whisker's head tilted, at the inquiry of 'by who' being presented. "I don't nyao these things! I didn't go to school!" She admitted, with a small flail of her paws. "You guys got a lot of Gods that you all think made you off their image or something. Why can't we have the same guys?" This seemed... valid enough. Especially for coming from an uneducated cat! And, saved a lot of headache on actually thinking on a real answer for the subject.
Antylamon certainly didn't seem to care to delve into the subject. But she was still interested in furthering 'research' on NeoDevimon! "That was embarrassment?" How interesting! "I, personally, hope to see more of this embarrassment." Would the Fallen Angel's face melt off? That would be amusing! She wanted to see!
Then again, Antylamon also wanted to see Asher actually get all the appropriate spirits. "You humans need to learn how to search better." Back to a need of a guidebook! "Surely, they still have their uses," the rabbit shrugged. "I know Kinkakumon is very sad that her fraction is missing. Surely, they have a use." Or not! Maybe it was just to have some variety!
"Hm? You don't?" Mulling it over, the Holy Beast swayed to the side, before straightening her posture a little so that she wasn't hovering over the spirit user. "I can only really make an assumption. One which I'm not certain your spirit would appreciate me speaking on." It seemed that, while Anytlamon loved pushing other's buttons, she wasn't so willing to share about them unless she knew it wouldn't actually upset them! After all, if it wasn't about her, she had no room to be telling people, right?
Speaking of talking about herself, she had the golden opportunity! That said, Yatagaramon wouldn't quite fall as one of the Ultimate's siblings. What else could she be? Hm... "I only had two 'siblings.' Neither larger. It's hard enough for one creature to take care of three little ones in The Dark Area, alone. Wouldn't more be overkill?" It was kind of weird to think of having a sibling bigger than her! "Given, if we were all rookies at the same time, one would have been larger than me. Why do you ask?"

"Yeah. It makes thing more difficult in both worlds," Isaac admitted. "Especially since human world obligations don't care if we're being delayed by a train's birthday party. A lot of times, my brother and I form friendships best with others who travel between worlds. Whether Digimon or human, it's just easier for all of us to stay on the same page that way.
That doesn't stop it from being confusing, though. But I'm a 15 year old trapped in the body of a cyberdemon. I'm pretty much past the point of letting confusion confuse me, if only by force."
Was Antylamon really debating him on the semantics of arts and crafts while they were trying to have a serious conversation? Wow. Rude! "You crafted something. It became art. It's arts and crafts," Isaac said plainly. "That said, it must feel quite empowering, making something like this happen without even realizing it."
It was so empowering, it seemed, that Antylamon wasn't quite ready to let it go. Frankly, Isaac was surprised she admitted something like that in front of him. "Do you have any ideas?" Isaac asked, wondering if he would be able to be of any assistance. Perhaps a part of him was still feeling guilty from his journeys with Iko, where he had failed to purify a jungle temple's-
"Fractal code . . ." The mutter was almost unconscious, and yet immediately Isaac wondered if it might be the key to preserving this sanctuary.
Whiskers didn't go to school? "Wait, there's school here?" Isaac asked, somewhat in disbelief. "Still, weird you suggest that your gods based you off of us. What if we were instead based off of you? I mean, I bet a lot of people would suggest we're just more boring Digimon." This was getting way too philosophical for Isaac's tastes, personally, but he had a feeling Elliot would've loved discussing this.
"If it wasn't for Orochimon, I'd basically be a third of the warrior I once was," Isaac said. "And the forms of fractions seem much less vulnerable to corruption and disruption. I'm quite sure you're right as to them having their uses, even if I found mine too little, too late." If only, say, there wasn't a cosmic limit that made them obsolete annoyingly quickly! "I'd switch to Yasyamon to cheer her up, but unfortunately he's as indisposed right now as the rest."
NeoDevimon let out a low growl as Antylamon mentioned her assumption, but didn't seem as prone to flying off the handle as he originally did. "I'd have to find out sometime," Isaac said, shrugging. "And I'm sure if he genuinely objected, he'd be reacting far more strongly. This is . . . apprehension, at best."
Two 'siblings.' Antylamon, with Yatagarasumon and Kinkakumon. Yet, a fourth creature raising them. "Your mentor?" Isaac asked, wisely spotting the detail before it drifted too far away. ". . . Your mother?"

Antylamon certainly didn't envy people that had to traverse such drastic timezones. "I rarely even traveled from The Dark Area," the rabbit commented. If she needed something from elsewhere, that was what Yatagaramon was for! "Nor have I met many humans." Probably because she didn't travel very far!
Thinking on her 'craft', the rabbit gave another shrug. "I suppose. It is far nicer to look at than the original pieces," she hummed, giving a tilt of the head. But, there was something charming about makeshift suns and moons! Not that she was really going to complain that they had turned into the real things!
Now, the rabbit shook her head, ears flopping side to side. "If I had any ideas, I would be doing them," she commented, before growing silent. Wait, what has Isaac just said? Red eyes slowly shifted to examine the NeoDevimon, tilting her head to the side. "Fractal Code?"
Yeah, Whiskers was still just as lost about the subject as ever, with Fractal Code brought up. She would just have to stick with her other topic! "I think there's school here. A lot of Digimon don't rawrly go to school, though. Fur a lot of reasons." Such as being too busy surviving! Or being partner Digimon! Or... sheer laziness, really. There wasn't always much reason to attend schools around here! "What if they're the same gods?" The cat inquired, curiously. Nobody said that multiple worlds couldn't be governed by the same beings! "Or, you guys were pawsibly so boring, we were made cooler!" And, yup, there's the ego.
"Late is better than never," Antylamon pointed out, still irritated with her own spirit user's definition of late. Leaning further back, the rabbit found herself with another question. "Why would a Yasyamon cheer her--" curiosity was replaced with a dull stare, a small groan creaking around the Holy Beast's throat, "--oh. I would appreciate if you did not, regardless. She doesn't need more pets." One was enough!
Still, the Digimon seemed hesitant to place her assumption out there. Almost in an attempt to provoke, the beast leaned close to NeoDevimon's mask, staring at the monster's eyes. "I would rather hear his story from him."
But, hearing the term 'mother' would be enough to draw her from the topic for a moment. "My mother," she echoed, lightly. "What about her?"

"I've been all over the Digital World by now," Isaac said. Hell, just in the past few days alone, he went from the Server Woods, to Whitewater, and now to the Dark Area. He had practically traced a giant crescent around the Digital World's eastern half just by existing. "Yet I feel like I'm still always seeing something new. Then again, a world made of data and based upon change is likely far more flexible than the static nature of our own world." Humans found civilization after, what, thousands of years? Digimon, digital creatures, couldn't have been around much earlier than computers, and yet their world was even more advanced in some ways. How strange.
Isaac laughed a little as Antylamon compared her sun and moon to the makeshift creations that once existed. "I presume the grass was velcro, or maybe a particularly fancy square of carpet?" he asked, half-teasingly.
Less teasing was the idea of fractal code. He hadn't really thought of it before, but maybe that would be the key to preserving Antylamon's sanctuary. "Yeah. You know, the code that keeps an area running," Isaac said, trying to account for the fact that he had only encountered the stuff like three days ago. "I'm not too familiar with it. But apparently it can be corrupted or damaged, and then from there fixed. And spirit users are supposed to be really good at it, because we're used to taking and refining outside data. I think? I can't say I fully understood Iko's explanation.
But . . . I didn't have the guts to fix a deep part of the Server Woods when I had the chance. I want to be able to make up for it, or at least try." Or Antylamon could, since this was her sanctum and all. Anything worked for Isaac, really.
"Is one of those reasons that a ton of eggs hatch in a single village in the middle of the forest?" Isaac asked, curious. Because that probably put a damper on schooling plans. Then again, considering that a good portion of Digimon seemed to live outside of civilization, that probably also explained a lot. "I'm not too sure about gods. But I could see the overlap. We have cats, you have cats. Stuff like that," Isaac added. He really wasn't the best at theology.
Isaac snickered as Antylamon realized what he was joking about. "It's, like, my one chance to tease Asher in return for all the times he teases me," he pointed out. "I can't miss these chances the few times they appear."
Speaking of discomfort, NeoDevimon leaned back a little as Antylamon leaned towards him. A hissing whistle echoed from his mask, a sign that Antylamon perhaps shouldn't try pushing her luck. Listening was one thing. But actually saying it? That was simply a bridge too far for the cyberdemon's comfort.
"The fourth figure," Isaac repeated, when Antylamon inquired about her mother. "You said three little ones. I imagine you, Kinkakumon, and Merle. And all three of you are spirits of the same line. Is your mother also part of this lineage?"

Antylamon listened to the spirit user, head slowly tilting to the side. "Everything is constantly changing. Especially with your strange time differences, in your own world." Of course things would change! Isaac could go to the human world for a week or two, and it would be enough of Digital time for someone to have built random houses throughout the Digital World. Or, maybe the rabbit was just misunderstanding. It was strange to get back into the idea of communicating with others. "Do you have a preferred place in this world?"
Looking down, the Holy Beast attempted to establish how anyone would think velcro would make good grass. "No. It was just grass. Merle gathered seeds. Took a long time. The Dark Area doesn't host plants well." On top of that, Antylamon didn't really pick a great part of the Dark Area to even attempt to grow anything!
The vacant stare on the beast's face should have been enough for Isaac to realize that she was truly lost. "No," she began, slowly, "I don't know." Coding to run the place? What? Trying to sift through her host's memories on the term, she only found a large sum of him evolving or explaining evolving to people. That didn't help! "Are you offering to attempt this?" Sure, Antylamon would have been glad to do it herself. If she even knew what it was!
Whiskers gave a shrug about the village, "I don't meow. I didn't hatch there," she admitted. "But that's purrobably one of them!" Good thing schooling wasn't overly important here! Though, it was really hard for the feline to comprehend creators and the like. For all she knew, some random person in the human world made all of the Digimon! "I'm a cat!" the Meicoomon nodded, confirming that, yes, the Digital World had cats. Not that it would come as any surprise!
"I'm going to press those buttons again, if you tease him while I am in control," the rabbit informed, as a light threat. Of course, she was serious! Why would the Antylamon hold any reservations when it came to causing NeoDevimon to flip out? Though, from the sounds that the other digimon was currently emitting, the answer was probably clear. Failing to remove any distance between them, the rabbit gave a vague inquiry of, "does creation equal birth?" Then again, it wasn't like Antylamon only held one theory of NeoDevimon's origin, but she wasn't willing to push much further on the subject.
Especially when there were other questions to focus on. "Merle is not my sister. We were never small together," the rabbit pointed out, rather rapidly. "You cannot expect us to pick which siblings would have a lower tier in an evolutionary line, can you?" Given, each was at a different level to begin with, but it was different to sit at full strength and at just a fraction! "But, to answer your question. Yes. She is."

"I know my least favorite's probably the tundra," Isaac said, trying to figure out his favorite part of the Digital World mainly through process of elimination. "Enough bad stuff has happened to me and my brother there that we've just made it a no-fly zone for us. Thankfully, our last visit was more pleasant than usual, but still not perfect." Especially not for Elliot, and specifically Elliot's dignity. Poor kid.
"So far, Whitewater might be my favorite," he admitted. It was a nice, sunny beach town. What could possibly go wrong with nice, sunny beach towns? "But I can't say for sure. Not until Maia and I have the day on the beach we keep promising each other." He'd be hard pressed to make good on that promise in Digimon form, but damnit, he wouldn't forget!
After all of the mystic night lift shapeshifting, Isaac was almost disappointed to hear that the grass was just grass. "Must've taken a lot of effort," he said, looking down. For a part of the Dark Area that seemed to stubbornly resist life taking root, the grass sure came in nicely. "Although I'm guessing if it wasn't planted in the Dark Area, it would've killed the point of your sanctuary." What good would protecting Dark Are Digimon be if Antylamon had to displace them all the way to the beach every time she found one?
Antylamon seemed as confused about the idea of fractal code as Isaac was. Damnit, where were Luke, Iko, and boatloads of convenient exposition when Isaac needed them most? Oh well. That wouldn't stop Isaac from doing his damn best to make things right. "If we can find it, yes," he said, casting his eye around the horizon. If he was the underlying framework of an entire sanctuary, where would he be . . .
Probably not talking to Whiskers, for starters. "Where did you hatch, then?" he asked, just as curious her story as he was about Asher's spirits.
Antylamon's threat was a success. NeoDevimon recoiled as soon as Antylamon mentioned pushing his buttons. However, his growling stopped as she asked about his origins. Slowly he stood up straight, Isaac feeling a gnawing urge to nod his head. "I can tell you're right," he said, thankful that Antylamon's prodding didn't set the devil off this time.
Isaac did nod, though, as he heard Antylamon describe the family situation. Three siblings, but Yatagarasumon was not one of them. Presumably, neither was the other fractional spirit. Judging by mention of "her fraction," it may have been a trusted charge as Merle was to Antylamon. "Which spirit is your last sibling, then?" Isaac asked. "Is it Renamon?
. . . Is Renamon your mother?"

The tundra? What, was Isaac afraid of the cold? "Bad things happen regardless of where a person goes," the Holy Beast pointed out, with a tilt of the head. She wasn't going to point out that the Dark Area seemed like it would be a pretty big offender on the list of 'places where bad things happen.' But, maybe that was just on reputation, alone. Antylamon wasn't really sure what the place beyond the walls of the sanctuary held anymore.
As far as beach towns went, Antylamon didn't seem overly interesting, giving a hum to acknowledge the statement. From what she had gathered, Asher had already established that permitting discussion over Maia was best used to distract Isaac, and shouldn't really be encouraged otherwise. "I haven't visited Whitewater, I don't believe," the rabbit commented, after a moment. That would probably change in the near future, anyway.
"Well, you can't make everything out of 'arts and crafts'," she pointed out, looking down at the grass. It really had taken a long time to be able to figure out how to get anything to grow here. "It was particularly hard to keep it alive, when we began to build beneath it." Oh, yeah. That felt like an important thing to remember! The floor might cave in! Huh. Levitating rabbits had a bad tendency to forget that the ground existed, let alone that it could become hazardous for those who actually obeyed gravity! "...Speaking of, when you move, you may want to watch your step." At least, since the Antylamon had stopped progressing through the room, nothing really seemed to be falling apart!
So, when looking around to figure out where a fractal code may live, the rabbit made it a point not to move from her place. "Where do these sorts of things exist?" Could coding live under plants? Or was it just going to be a random blob? It was obvious Antylamon had no idea how the Digital World worked, in this aspect!
Whiskers looked around the room, not really sure what fractal code looked like, either. "The Fur-latlands!" the feline chimed, cheerfully. "It was warm and sunny!" For a moment, it seemed that the Meicoomon had forgotten they were in a situation that actually required focus!
"Hm," the rabbit hummed again, hearing her first guess seemed to be correct. "If I wasn't working against a clock, I would be interested in trying to hear NeoDevimon's origins more," she admitted, leaning away from the other monster. "Maybe another time." Surely, the spirit would be glad to hear that he wouldn't be harassed about his history for the time being.
Before Antylamon could even answer the question, she grew incredibly silent at Isaac's attempt at figuring out where each Digimon stood in the line. A muffled snicker escaped, as the creature lowered her head. Oh, don't laugh at the boy. He doesn't know any better! "Renamon... mother?" Okay, now that she had actually vocalized the concern, the laughter had begun. Practically doubling over herself, the beast shook her head, still trying to muffle the sounds of laughter. Which, was actually quite impossible, when the sound didn't emit from her mouth at all! "No! She's far too young to be anyone's mom," the rabbit informed, as she finally regained her bearings. "She's, by far, the youngest sibling. Aside from Ginkakumon, if you feel the need to include him in the 'family' tree." Judging from that last sentence, while Kinkakumon clearly considered the other oni a brother, it didn't seem that Antylamon felt quite the same attachment. "Though, I suppose we all do have Renamon to blame for our current circumstances, in a roundabout way."
