It was becoming apparent that Asher hadn't really told Isaac enough about himself, if the other spirit user had even thought to suggest such a hobby! "Not always," the rabbit contradicted, glancing around while sifting through her thoughts. "But, what do I know," she started, with another tilt of her head, "I'm just a rabbit." A very violent rabbit! But, she wasn't going to applaud or reprimand Isaac for how he viewed his own sibling. Maybe, she'd make an opinion once she had an opportunity to see Elliot in person.
There was a silence, after hearing Isaac's thought on his relationship with Asher. "Why do you think that?" Rather than using a condescending tone, the Beast seemed legitimately curious. Was Isaac just saying that because he was stressed?
"She didn't turn us into spirits. It was the only thing that Kinkakumon and I could do, considering neither of us wanted to -- or were even capable of -- killing her." As much as Antylamon liked to fight, her mother wasn't an ideal target for that! Especially considering what kind of level gap there must have been between the two of them! Red eyes glanced up, toward the ceiling, while adding a frustrated, "Within the time it took us to digivolve, Merle was already unable to fight." And, if that was speaking for someone on Ultimate level, there was no point in mentioning Kinkakumon's fraction!
With the strange choice in his next attempt, the remainder of the Bommon had become quiet. Their fuses fizzled with an occasional hiccuping squeak. Whether this was from actual entertainment, or just confusion, Antylamon really couldn't complain! "Why should I know?" She shrugged, watching most of the sparks die out. "I've been asleep for a long time. I didn't request babies to cover the floor of an incomplete room." That seemed like a fair point, didn't it?

"That's true," Isaac said, thinking back to the alien spaceship. "When push comes to shove, he can really turn the ride of a fight. But frankly, trying to imagine what could infuriate Asher enough to make him violent scares me." If he couldn't even muster up the guts to hate Isaac, after all of the times that Isaac irritated him, how could he ever feel violent rage? It'd have to take innocents being hurt or some severe traumas being brought back up to get Asher to that point.
"You're a rabbit with access to Asher's headspace," Isaac added. "I bet if you wanted to, you could know his middle name, his crush, his shoe size, and what he had for breakfast this morning by the time we're out of this tunnel." Was that even how spirits worked? If Sol and Kisara's shenanigans were any indication it might have been, but that could be attributed to the fact that they were always watching. Then again, Antylamon had proven she could recreate the memories vividly enough to replicate Gargoylemon's roar, so she probably had a lot to pull from.
It was complicated, just like Asher and Isaac's relationship. "I don't think he likes showing weakness," Isaac said, plain and to the point. "Or asking for help. Or opening up more about himself than he has to. And yet, when we're with one another, it all has ways of just . . . coming out. I think he wants to keep all of those parts as secret as possible, even if somehow I've ended up his confidant in those regards." It really was an odd relationship. Isaac knew a lot about him on the surface level (touchy-feely, oblivious, insanely nice), and decent amount about him on a deep level (his worries, especially Digital ones, and the times when the mask slipped), but he really didn't know much about the levels in between. Maybe if Asher had more hobbies than sleeping it'd be easier.
So wait. It was Antylamon and Kinkakumon who turned their own mother, and themselves, into spirits? God, that was some horrifying family drama. "What would she have done if you didn't?" Isaac asked, a tinge of worry to his voice. Would their mother have raged against the Digital World as a whole? Or would her rage be targeted a lot closer to home? It was quite the frightening idea, and knowing that there was a spirit bearing that much power . . . oof.
At least one problem was resolved. Isaac sighed in relief as the Bommon's lights went out. "Fair. Hopefully we can talk to the caretakers about this, in case of next time," Isaac said. He went to leave, then turned to the Bommon currently littering the floor. "Do we leave these here in case they have a mother lurking in the cave as well, or should we bring them for Meicoomon to watch over?" he asked, worriedly looking towards the ceilings and floors for instabilities. While Antylamon's world had stopped collapsing around them for the time being, the safety of these babies was rapidly taking priority over further exploration.

What could make Asher violent? Loading, loading, loading! "Threatening his sister," she stated, matter-of-fact. "Same cause of why he is uncomfortable by the idea of violence." Thoughtfully, she felt the need to add, "I wonder what he would be like, if he didn't have a sibling." Probably incredibly different!
Without missing a beat, the rabbit continued to violate her host's thoughts. "Cyrus, nobody, ten and a half, coffee." So, that would be a 'yes', she could! And, yes, she did! It was almost the same as being in a DNA digivolution, in some aspects, wasn't it? Except they couldn't separate by arguing over pizza toppings! Though, if it were possible, Antylamon would be all over that idea.
"All of those would be correct, yes," Antylamon confirmed, giving a small nod. After all, she would know. "Have you considered that, rather than being irked by you, he trusts you?" But, again, what did she know? She was a rabbit. Either way, she could at least say that Isaac made her feel a little crazy. In a bad way. She kind of wanted to punch him. Not for any particular reason, of course. Antylamon just really liked making others uncomfortable!
Just like the idea of what her mother probably would have done was making Antylamon uncomfortable! "Considering she was willing to attack us, unprovoked, I could easily make assumptions." You try fighting a super-mega, when your usual level was only Ultimate! It wasn't easy! "If she was going to destroy what she cared for, what do you think she intended to do in regards to those she didn't?" Probably nothing that anyone would consider friendly!
Looking at the confused, and still hiccuping, balls of explosive, Antylamon scrunched her nose. "My caretakers had no knowledge of there being little ones down here," she commented, while debating on just how concerning it was that there was a chance these babies could literally blow up the room if they became upset. "This level was never connected, in the way that the rest of my sanctuary was. I hadn't set it up yet. But," she paused, raising an ear to listen for any sounds of an irritable parent, "each level was intended to have a caretaker on it. I would suspect that these belong to it. As such, we shouldn't move them." Though, that was only a theory! She could be very wrong!

"From one big brother to another? Nothing pisses us off more than that," Isaac said. There was a reason why Isaac was somehow scratched off the potential bullying list despite being so tiny. Elliot being threatened practically turned Isaac into a rabid badger. "I don't think either of us would be the same without our little siblings. Sometimes I wonder what it would be like, but frankly? Now that I'm seeing what life without my little brother is like, I've had my fill of wondering." If there was any lingering resentment about Elliot being the golden child, it was definitely purged out of Isaac's system by now. The first thing he'd do when seeing Elliot would be holding him tight and never letting go.
He could barely process that thought before Antylamon belted out four more. Namely, all of Isaac's questions, which were answered almost as quickly as he could say them. "Impressive," Isaac said. Although something was a little off there. Almost like an important part of one of his questions had gone unanswered, with a non-answer given instead. "Wait, did he not eat this morning?" Isaac suddenly asked, a touch of concern in his voice.
Isaac had the feeling Antylamon wasn't asking Isaac so much as telling him. "I'll be honest, I hoped for that," Isaac admitted, looking down at his feet a little. "But there were so many times where he outright avoided me, that I was worried I was just making him uncomfortable." The two had, what, two confrontations over this subject by now? Sure, one of them was powered by a bitter fox, but it was still the most frustrated that Isaac had seen Asher. If Asher really did trust him, though, that was a relief. Maybe the meant Asher wouldn't run off the next time Isaac just wanted to help him!
Isaac shuddered as he imagined just what Junomon had in store for the world. "I'll take the hint," Isaac said, nodding. This probably wasn't a subject that he should have pushed any further. "For Asher's sake, and for yours and your siblings', I'm going to make sure her discovery will be as safe as possible. Or at least as safe as it could be." Speaking of helping, was Isaac seriously thinking that far ahead? Maybe there was a reason why Asher wanted to escape him.
The whole cave network they were exploring was apparently a planned extension to the sanctuary which never properly finished. Isaac had to admit, based on the previous few caretakers he wasn't exactly in a hurry to meet another one. It didn't help that the caretaker of an unfinished extension likely wasn't on the same page as the rest of the caretakers. It probably wasn't a good idea to disturb the caretaker, nor was it a good idea to kidnap the babies and piss the caretaker off. "Agreed," Isaac said. As he walked further down the cavern he turned to Antylamon once more. "Anything else you know about this level, or are we in fully uncharted territory?"

"As a 'big' sister, I would like to recommend stepping on them," the rabbit half-joked, throwing a glance at her feet. Yeah, she was large enough to use that as a legitimate deterrent! Asher and Isaac? Not so much! Unless their younger siblings were afraid of ants, that was. "I have spent years without my siblings. I would like to state that I, at least, enjoyed the peace." In the back of her mind, the rabbit might have felt like something was scoffing at this statement. There would be plenty of time to deal with that later, though.
But, was Isaac actually concerned about what Asher was consuming for breakfast, of all things? "He 'ate' coffee. I already told you this," she commented, dully. "Made lunch for his sister, drank coffee, left the house. Is there a problem with that?" The problem was probably something to do with dietary health, or another comment along those lines. But, hey, Antylamon didn't care. It probably helped her a little, when it came to taking over his body!
Giving a shrug, Antylamon confirmed, "you are." Well, there was no point in lying about it! Trusting anyone would cause Asher a decent amount of discomfort! "I highly doubt that will change any time soon." There was no point in sugar coating it! Asher was unlikely to suddenly just become okay with being open with anyone!
It really wasn't a subject to push further, but it hadn't stopped Isaac any from reaching this point! "My family is already quite dead. It's not our problem what she does, this time," the beast commented, nonchalantly. "Just bear in mind that the ones that stopped her last time are incapable of helping you this time." Were Antylamon and Kinkakumon even able to affect their mother's mentality now? That would be an interesting thing to test, when the time came to worry about it. Meanwhile, it was like a really dumb reunion in the rabbit's head, and she'd admit that she wasn't really appreciating it while she was trying to focus on Isaac. "I would like to advise that you find a spirit that's a bit stronger, before my host has the chance to piece Her together. Just in case."
A few of the Bommon bounced after the two, curious as to where they were headed. Otherwise, everything seemed rather uninteresting! "I still built all of this," Antylamon stated, bluntly. It wasn't like she had just conveniently built her sanctuary on top of a cave! "Someplace, there's a caretaker. That will not take care of you in any way that you'll appreciate, I'm sure," she hummed, pointlessly. Of course Isaac would expect that. If he didn't appreciate Wizardmon or Chamelemon, he wasn't going to like anyone else, either! "And, you'll want to take a left, when you find a path that has a fork." Was it left? Or was her memory hazy? Eh. She shouldn't be too off the mark! "Were you hoping for anything specific?"

"Heh. Something tells me that's more Karin's deal than mine," Isaac joked. Then again, Asher might not have wanted to hear about Karin stepping on people. It probably didn't help that, unless wearing right right kind of shoe, a stomp from Isaac probably wouldn't be that painful. Now, someone wearing heels? That was a recipe for so much pain that Isaac cringed just thinking on it. "Maybe I'd enjoy my time alone more if it was due to Elliot being at summer camp or something, rather than me being stranded in a far deadlier world than my own," he added, shrugging.
Did Antylamon not get how food worked for humans? "There are so many problems with that," he said. "Not even getting into all that stuff about nutrition and balanced breakfasts and energy, coffee on an empty stomach can hurt like hell." Isaac stood on his tiptoes a little bit, as if trying to peer "through" Antylamon and "towards" Asher. "Hey! Next time, don't do that!" he said, hoping to get it through the other teen's thick skull. "At least eat a banana or something, okay?" Awww, he was worried!
At least Antylamon just let him know that his worrying wasn't all for naught. "Figured as much," Isaac said, shrugging. "But at least now I know I'm not just making him uncomfortable for no reason. Believe it or not, I'll call that progress."
It sounded like Isaac was going to be way out of his league if he tried to confront Mama Spiriterson directly. "NeoDevimon is actually the second-or-third weakest of my forms," Isaac commented. "Sometimes, when I close my eyes, I see vision of six of them. Three, the ones that were corrupted on the D-Reaper mission, were shrouded in a red fog. The other two, and presumably NeoDevimon until now, are behind a white shroud. I think NeoDevimon is trying to tell me who I'm supposed to look for next. And when I look at them all at once, it feels like I'm seeing something . . . else. I feel like all of this is leading up to something, but I'm just not sure what." Maybe that something else would be the key to completing Isaac's spirit lineages, and maybe even standing toe to toe with Asher's final choice as well. Regardless, Isaac would not be entering unprepared.
Isaac nodded at Antylamon's instructions. "Left, got it," he said, already planning his route as he traveled down the cave network. Whatever happened next, he'd be seeing it with his own six eyes.

"I do not know who Karin--" Antylamon paused, sifting through her thoughts, before immediately following with, "I think I like her." Of course she would! Now, if only the tamer was actually a spirit user, Antylamon could see herself being alright with a bond with that one! Asher was a little too docile for her tastes, at this point in time! Maybe, she should try to change that. Continuing on the topic, though, the spirit gave a shrug. "I was dead, and I still do not miss them." Cue another irritating scoff in the back of her headspace! "Now I'm stuck with them for the duration of a human's life. With any luck, that is not a long while." Sorry to break it to you, Antylamon, but you'll be living with Asher for quite some time! His creator has no intent of killing him that quickly!
Obviously, Antylamon had no clue what was upsetting Isaac about all of this coffee business. "I don't think he has a stomach ache." No, he just had several other aches! Like a throbbing hand and head! But, those were okay, considering he was entirely unconscious. Which led to her next statement! "He can't hear you right now." This was followed with the rabbit placing a hand on her chest, scrunching her nose a little, "and for all of our sanity, let's keep it that way until we're done with this task." It was already taking an obnoxious amount of effort to keep the teen 'asleep' as it was! And, feeling her stomach churn a little, it seemed to be a good idea to discourage Isaac attempting to talk directly to the host!
Needing to adjust the topic, the rabbit tilted her head, one ear flopping over to touch the other. "Aw," she teased, sing-song, "do you care about my host?" Mouth curling to a slightly too-enthusiastic smile, the rabbit reached out to pat NeoDevimon on the head. Oh, no matter what reaction the other spirit made, surely this would be entertaining somehow. Or just weirdly sincere. She'd take whichever, she supposed. Not having proper socialization, apparently, made one a little desperate for it once it was available!
"Second-or-third weakest," she repeated, slowly. "Do explain, then, why you would think he was a wise choice for greeting me." Especially considering one of Antylamon's considered greetings had been on just slamming an open hand down, onto the devil monster! Several times! Maybe, if Isaac had taken a stronger form, Asher's will wouldn't have held her back so much! Eh, who was she kidding? That was probably the only reason he was able to keep her as a spirit, from the start.
Not having much choice, she continued to listen to Isaac's explanation of his visions. Or, whatever they were. "Have you considered that you're just insane?" Surely, he had thought that several times! "When I close my eyes, I see my mother slaughtering my partner." Talk about taking 'don't kill the messenger' to a literal! "We all see things that aren't important to the current time. Perhaps, to a different time period, it is relevant. Don't worry about it right now." Instead, focus on the task at hand! And, maybe not about if NeoDevimon was actually helping Isaac attain anything other than an interest in shiny lights!
Speaking of light, upon following the instructed direction, the end of the tunnel would begin to shimmer a little, while dripping would reach their oversensitive ears. Once reaching the end, it would open into a larger room, with a small pond in the center. At this point, the few remaining Bommon would let out little confused squeaks, jumping at each drip of water falling from the ceiling and echoing off the pool. It didn't seem that they knew how to feel about this room! Not that it was important in any way!
Almost immediately, one of the bolder of the group of followers let out a shrill-sparkling sound, before rolling directly into one of the many stalagmites that rose from the ground. And, inevitably, it also began to let out a terrible wail after colliding with the rock. Placing a hand on her face, Antylamon let out a groan. "This is why I do not have children of my own." They were always so weepy and noisy, and usually alarmingly sticky!

"Had a feeling you would," Isaac said. Anyone who vexed Asher, with the exception of Isaac, seemed to have bonus points in Antylamon's books. "Asher's gonna kill me for telling you, but with how quick you answered all those questions I figured you'd learn about her sooner or later." Then again, did Asher even dislike Karin much? She probably confused and frightened him in some ways, but Asher seemed almost incapable of hatred. He was too sweet. Too trusting. Way too Elliot for Isaac's tastes. No wonder the two of them got along so much. Similarly, no wonder Isaac felt the urge to protect them both.
For someone so critical of Isaac separating from his family, Antylamon sure did a 180 on that subject. "And here I thought you were all about family bonding," Isaac said, dryly. However, she raised a far more salient point than just sarcasm. A human lifespan wasn't all that long. It certainly got NeoDevimon's attention; Isaac could already feel a very inward dirty look being shot his way. However, it left the actual human Isaac quite curious as well. "What does happen to our spirits when we pass?" he asked. Isaac's creator was making no such promises, but is fearful that you will tear my throat out with your bare hands if I try anything. So Isaac's probably fine too.
Considering how freaked out Asher would be if he woke up with coffee pains in a cave full of babies? Yeah. Amazingly enough, keeping Antylamon around was actually the sane decision for a change. "Fair," Isaac said. "But he can't hide from me on this forever."
Needless to say, yes. Isaac did care about Antylamon's host. As soon as the rabbit's massive hands rose towards NeoDevimon he dropped into a squat, covering his head with his hands and letting out a foul shrieking noise. Or, at least, he tried to. Like hell Isaac would be letting a spirit with too much autonomy wake those poor babies. Instead, with his jaw clamped shut and his own vocal cords fighting him, the demonic spirit just kind of let out a muffled hiss. To make matters worse, Isaac figured this'd be an amazing formative learning opportunity. He forced NeoDevimon to stand back up, the demon clearly disgruntled as Antylamon gave him head pats. This would've made for an amazing cat video on Youtube. "He reminds me too much of my brother," Isaac admitted. That was all he would allow himself to say about the matter.
"Second or third weakest, but strongest I have reliable access to," Isaac said. "The two stronger than him are both corrupted. One, Orochimon, I can tap into for short periods of time, and would have if the need arose. My strongest, Devidramon, is unfortunately the most lost of them all. And there was one far stronger, which Elliot and I discovered at the fight's tail end, but I don't know if I could access it even if I wasn't corrupted." Samudramon was truly an elusive beast, one which Isaac had only gotten acquainted with for the length of one sword strike.
Was Antylamon seriously asking about insanity? "I'm trying to free my boss from a parallel universe, while a bunny woman lectures me on various philosophical topics during the periods I'm not telling small bombs bedtime stories," Isaac said, matter-of-factly. "This is after I was nearly killed by a giant glob of Pepto-Bismol and trapped in the body of an imp, then shackled to the world's most paranoid demon. I think I am well beyond the point of insanity." Still, Isaac had the sense that Antylamon was right. Whatever he was seeing now was a topic for the far future, not for today.
Small ponds were adorable! Wailing children were not. Immediately Isaac ran over to the Bommon's side, looking down at it to try and see where it was hurt. What the heck did it even stub? Its entire body? Nevertheless, silencing any crying before the guardian was attracted would be of top priority. Isaac gently began rocking the Bommon back and forth, hoping to at least silence its wailing into a light sniffle. As he did so he hummed, taking advantage of his vocal cords sounding like a broken synthesizer to try and make some sort of pleasing music out of the deal.
Once had had helped with the situation, he knew there was an important part of the equation that NeoDevimon couldn't help with. Preparing himself to feel very awkward, he turned to Antylamon and held the Bommon towards her. "I wear a mask, so I can't do this. Could you please kiss it better?" he asked. Antylamon may not have been the motherly type at all, but she was the closest to a darn mom they had over here. "Please?"

"I'm sure I'll learn far too much about everything he knows, sooner or later," the rabbit commented, with a slightly irritant tone. She really didn't care to learn anything about her new host, aside from how willing he was to let her do her own thing. Which, considering how much effort it had taken to manifest on her own, it wasn't looking too promising for her! The stupid human even fought the concept of passing out! How was she supposed to compete with that frequently? The answer was, inevitably, use her own strength sparingly unless called upon. Which, really, explained why there weren't a large sum of dominant spirits, didn't it?
Though, if Isaac had actually posed the question on Karin, he would have found that Asher really didn't hate her. Or anyone, for that matter. Heck, Karin didn't even scare him! Confused, on the other hand? Most definitely. But, the teen was strangely understanding toward the type of person that he was dealing with, when it came to that crazy cat-hatted girl.
Head tilted to what would seem an uncomfortable angle, as the Digimon pondered the 'afterlife' of a spirit. "What makes you think that I know the answer to that?" She had only just received a host that could handle her! "This is, regrettably, the first human to succeed in utilizing my totem." Oh, come on now, Asher wasn't that bad! She could have a crybaby for a spirit user, for instance! Or a total brat! Asher was just stubborn and kind of reckless! "Maybe we die. Maybe we sit in totems until someone else is worthy of us. Maybe we turn into Babies again. I don't know, and I'm not particularly concerned, regardless of the outcome." Then, there was an almost odd pause, before adding, "unless we are released back into the world, in the form that we provided to this element. Then, I suspect I will have many complaints."
Just like she wanted to have complaints about Isaac's weird mother-birding at her host. Who cared what Asher had for breakfast? Piper didn't even monitor that! Then again, it was too much effort to! "If he wanted to hide from you, he could," she was quick to comment, continuing her sing-song tone. The highs and lows of her voice shifted in an almost wispy fashion, which would surely sound almost haunting if done in a forest. Luckily (or unluckily) it was in a tunnel, so instead, there was a small echo as the words bounced back at the duo. "Also, unless you're offering him banana bread, it seems he doesn't like bananas. So, you may want to think of a better breakfast solution." Why did it seem that every person ever suggested for others to eat bananas? It was kind of weird. "Any other fun facts that you would like to know about my host, while I'm sifting through his mind anyway?" May as well offer! It wasn't like there was anything particularly exciting happening!
Oh, and NeoDevimon's reaction to the head-patting was priceless, just as expected! A small chuckle emanated from the beast's throat, far too pleased with herself. Hopefully, other spirit would never have an opportunity to fully possess Isaac, because Antylamon suspected that he would not treat her kindly after this! ...On second thought. Hopefully NeoDevimon could possess his host and demonstrate his distaste! Antylamon would have so much fun! "Is it a bad thing for someone to resemble a relative?" Maybe, that would actually be a sincere question! Especially considering her own family was heavily on the 'adopted' side of things!
It was still insulting, even with explanation, that she was greeted with one of Isaac's weakest forms. Heck. he may as well have been an Impmon for all of this! Or, no. She probably would have stepped on him, if he dared to insult her like that! Not that she could argue the reasons to go insane, though. "I suppose, I would take insanity over stupidity any day," she commented, with a small hum. Was that supposed to be comforting, or something? Hopefully not! Antylamon wasn't one for comfort!
Which was surely becoming progressively more obvious, judging from the glare that she was giving the vampire-esque monster after his latest request. The rabbit blinked slowly. And then again, while obviously debating the best course of action. For the most part, Isaac's interesting sounds had done enough to leave the little bomb more of a hiccuping mess, rather than crying and on the verge of detonating! And, with that analysis, Antylamon found it easier to make her decision.
Reaching one hand out to collect the Bommon, the Ultimate lowered her face to be at a better level with NeoDevimon. Pulling the baby-bomb from Isaac, the beast brought it close to her chest. Though, rather than kissing the tiny creature, she lifted her free hand, to aim a fist directly at the H-Hybrid, and swung. With any luck, Isaac would have been prepared for such a reaction! It was his fault for expecting a giant, irritable rabbit to kiss a baby, after all!

"Living in someone's head tends to do that," Isaac said. NeoDevimon was a clear example. Even with how little the demon wished to tell Isaac, he had already picked up on a lot of its idiosyncrasies, quirks, and turn-offs. Especially the turn-offs. It seemed every minute he learned a new thing that set NeoDevimon off, and thanks to his roundtable with Iko he was fairly sure he had a hint as to the reasons why. It wasn't much, but it was progress.
It sounded like Antylamon was very unsure about what would happen after the death of a spirit. After all, this was her first rodeo too. "That makes two of you," Isaac said. "I wouldn't count Asher out just yet, though. He may be . . . questionable at times, but he's also quite brave and reliable. Who knows? He might surprise you." Coming from someone who for the longest time thought Asher was kind of a flighty idiot, that was a pretty ringing endorsement.
That said, it seemed of all of these possibilities, only one truly worried Antylamon. "Your current form doesn't seem half bad," Isaac pointed out. "Preferable to being forced to regress to a baby, at least. Why would that inspire complaint for you?" Honestly, if instead of dying Isaac got to take a time out and come back in the prime of his youth again, he'd be pumped!
Banana bread, huh? Isaac wasn't surprised. Something about Asher didn't seem much like of a fruit person, personally. "Great. Now I'm craving some," Isaac grumbled, shaking his head a little. "Been too long since I've had any good old fashioned baking. Mostly just been scavenging what I can find in the Server Woods lately." That was one way of getting around not having many Bits to his name, even if it didn't quite sound like the most pleasant one.
Isaac didn't have any other questions about Asher in particular, but at least Antylamon got him thinking about something. "Has Asher seen Elliot lately?" Isaac asked. "I . . . he's been doing okay, right?" It still hurt him knowing that he didn't have the chance to check. It also hurt knowing that even now, his efforts at making holosuits function were all falling flat. Frankly, if he could've gotten those functioning, he would've been happy to turn his back on having a "real" human form just to be there for his friends and loved ones again. A pity life couldn't be that easy.
Just like how Asher wasn't easy. Everything about him should be irritating. He was brash, and far too touchy-feely for comfort, and his stubbornness could be downright infuriating when it put him in harm's way. However, Isaac couldn't help but feel the urge to keep this idiot safe and happy, especially with how stressed he was over the Digital World. "He's too nice for his own good," Isaac finally said. "And he's always putting way too many problems on his shoulders, whether his own or other peoples'. How can you not care about someone like that?" Stupid idiot.
Antylamon didn't seem to go the extra mile to care, though. Isaac sighed as Antylamon took the baby from his hands, only for his eyes to widen in shock when he saw Antylamon draw her fist back. Fortunately, NeoDevimon was quick on the draw as always, ducking under the Antylamon's punch. Unfortunately, fighting Antylamon would have been a hilariously stupid idea. Double unfortunately, picking a fight around a baby would have been the easiest way to make the poor thing start crying. He clamped down on his tongue roughly to prevent NeoDevimon from screeching at the top of his lungs, instead turning all six of his eyes to focus on Antylamon. "Alright. No more babies," he simply said, trying to roll the tension out of his shoulders. "Should we continue?"

A small groan came from the rabbit, hearing confirmation. She really didn't want to meld minds with a human! Why was this her fate? Why did she agree to such a dumb fate? Though, if Isaac wanted to learn more about the things that could stress out NeoDevimon, Antylamon would gladly assist with that! Anything involving furthering the bond between her and Asher, though? No thanks! That sounded simply atrocious!
Would Asher surprise Antylamon? Unlikely. "You humans are all relatively the same," she commented, dully. Would this insult the person she was talking to? Most likely. Did Antylamon care? No. "You're not the first spirit users to enter this sanctuary. Though, perhaps the last." Did that last part sound like she was mad? It should. Humans were why this place was crumbling, after all! "Are you telling me that you don't seek totems for strength? That he didn't? That the half-dozen others, that came here before you, weren't?" Careful how you word your answer, Isaac! This sounded like a topic that the rabbit had a strong opinion on!
Red eyes narrowed at the question that followed, though. Maybe, she shouldn't have been thinking aloud! "I enjoy this form. But, if I return from this bond to this level, that means that everyone else does the same." Why couldn't the beast just outright state her reasons, instead of leaving them constantly vague? She was almost as bad as the Digimon that had been watching over her tomb! Then again, maybe that was why they had been so eccentric.
"I would make you food, but," the Digimon paused, looking at their surroundings. "My home is literally falling apart. And, I don't want to." Okay, so maybe Antylamon really wouldn't make anyone food. It wasn't her job, and the first order of business upon getting the ability to move again was not going to be 'cook for a hungry kid wearing a Digimon's skin'! "Have you considered learning to cook?" If other Digimon could do it, so could weird vampire children! Okay, so it wasn't really a vampire. But, that was the easiest descriptor right now!
Though, when Antylamon had offered to search for an answer, she hadn't been anticipating this one! There was a small click from the back of her throat, while ears briefly drooped, appearing to be in deep thought. "No," she answered, flatly. "He hasn't seen him. Memories of his sister imply that she has been trying, and failing, at meeting with an Elliot." That probably was not the answer Isaac was looking for! "An emotion associated with the memories is mild concern and disappointment, but not a worry on the person's safety. So, it's likely that he's fine, on a physical level." An emotional level, though? Probably not!
Antylamon listened to Isaac's view of Asher, albeit, she didn't seem particularly interested. "Easily," was her blunt response. "Do you suspect it to be nature, or nurture?" Really? Was she really expecting a fifteen year old to understand Nature Vs. Nurture enough to analyse Asher's life choices? Probably not. Heck, the rabbit didn't really have enough faith in Isaac to expect any sort of answer on the subject!
After her swing had missed, nose twitched, very briefly scrunching at his ability to dodge. Darn. Punching something might have been just what the rabbit needed! Still, the Bommon remained in her hand. Giving a small toss, the Antylamon used her large hand to bounce the baby up and down. While the fact that she wasn't even looking at the Baby should have been a piece of concern, it seemed the motion was gentle enough that it wasn't causing any discomfort! In fact, after two bounces, the tiny monster began to chirp and giggle, an occasional spark peeling off from its fuse. "I do not deal with kissing babies, or crying babies. It's a rule of mine," she commented, dully. "If Merle could abide by it, everyone else can, also." Wasn't it bad to expect everyone to follow the standards of a dead bird? Ah, whatever. It'd be a dead baby, if it cried too much. So, it was really in everyone's best interest!
"Yes, continuing," she murmured, looking at the pool. As another drop of water fell from the ceiling, the Beast pointed up. The ceiling was notably higher above the pool, and mirrored the water with ripples of a tiny current. Though, as another drip fell from the center, it would become obvious that it was not, in fact, a mirror, but another surface of water. "It's straight above. But," she added, quickly, so that the occasionally reckless teen wouldn't act before hearing any potential warnings. "There is ice on the other side of the water." Of course. The floor to the totem room was made of ice. It only made sense! "Part of the floor was meant to collapse to enter this room, but doesn't appear to have. I'm not sure if the ice has broken enough to use it as an entrance."
Still bouncing the bomb-baby in her free hand, Antylamon stared up at the ceiling. "And, in hindsight, I'm hoping that my altar won't fall through. It may speed up the rest of my sanctuary's collapse, if it does." This design was a little too rushed, it seemed! Now, she was stuck trying to figure out if the pedestal would fall, if she broke any of the ice! "While it should be on the thickest part of the ice, I'm not entirely sure of the stability of the entire room at this point."

"Of course we do."
It was a surprisingly upfront admission, considering that Isaac was dealing with a fully incarnated spirit in the flesh. That was the kind of thing that, provided Antylamon wasn't carrying a baby right now, would've likely gotten him planted firmly into the nearest wall. At the same time, Isaac knew better than to lie about something like this. If Antylamon would regard his answer coldly either way, he might as well answer properly and give himself the time to explain. "But do you really think all humans use their strength for the same reasons?" he continued, turning the question back around on Antylamon. "Some want power for personal gain. Some, to lash out at those who hurt them. Some just like the rush of it. But there are also those who have someone worth fighting for in their lives. Or those who see an injustice and pledge to right it. There are those who want to keep not just our own world but also yours safe. I've met both, in my time. And I'm sure I'll meet plenty more.
But, if you really thought we were all the same, would you just be standing here right now? With the power I have, compared to yours, you could have killed me with ease five rooms ago. And I'm sure if you truly took issue with Asher, you could have broken his brain for simply attempting to bear your form." He paused. Was there a slight grin behind his mask, or were his eyes just seizing up a little? "But I understand. There are a lot of humans I don't trust, either," he added. There was someone clear and present in his memory, far away yet oh so infuriatingly close.
At least not every topic between these two was a giant debate. Isaac nodded in understanding at Antylamon's hand-wringing over her current form, realizing that if she was at the prime of her strength Mommy Dearest must have been as well. "I can see why that's worrying," he added. "At the very least, if you and your sisters have both been bound to the same, human, this may mean She will remain dormant until he arrives as well." Oh, don't just tell her that, Isaac! Now she'll never let Asher look for the rest of his spirits!
Or cook for Isaac, for that matter. He was totally in the doghouse after this conversation. Not that Antylamon liked him much in the first place. "Elliot's the cook in the family," Isaac said. "I mostly do the presentation after. Asher taught me a few tips there. You wouldn't believe it, but it's actually really relaxing." Some stressful days had Isaac spending 5 minutes hammering every detail of a latte into perfection. It was almost like art therapy.
Isaac would need that art therapy after hearing that Elliot was slacking on meetings with Piper. Asher may not have been too concerned, but Isaac? NeoDevimon flared to life once more, claws flinging out as a sudden rush of anxiety got the demon looking around in a panic. "He's skipping out on his studies?" Isaac asked, NeoDevimon's voice reverberating slightly from the outburst. "I could get wanting a break from the Digital World, and not wanting to be reminded of it. But that's no reason to start slipping up like this!" It was couched in concern over grades, but the tone of his voice belied that Isaac was worried sick about his brother. If he was giving up on study sessions with Piper, what else was he cutting out of his life? Half of why Isaac let Elliot go was so he could have a chance to be normal for a change. Why wouldn't he take it?
He took a few breaths, calming down in time for Antylamon's next little bit of philosophizing. "Are they really exclusive?" Isaac asked. "No two people are going to react to the same thing in the same way, I think. Elliot and I grew up in the same house, and we're as different as could be." Granted, one of them was father's favorite and the other was perpetually unacknowledged. But, Isaac wasn't sure if he could be as nice as Elliot was about their roles if the tables were turned. "And nurture becomes nature, does it not? It isn't like we can lock him in a big empty room and reset him back to zero. He'll be Asher today, just like he'll be Asher fifty years from now. What do you think?" Maybe creatures that literally rebooted their nature upon death and had malleable code for DNA would think differently.
Isaac's eyes worriedly traced the baby's path up and down, but thankfully he seemed soothed. The duo had gotten out of this encounter alive. Much more troublesome would be the next part; entering Antylamon's inner sanctum. Ice and water sat above them, leaving them sealed down here from above. Judging by the ice being not nearly broken enough, Isaac had the feeling this wouldn't be as easy as just diving in. He peered, trying to make out any shadows on the surface from where the altar might be. "I could always teleport to try scouting it out," he offered, humming a mechanical tune. "But that'd involve exploding. And if the room's collapsing like this, that would be quite bad." Understatement, Isaac. Major understatement.
Instead he settled for flying up towards the water. Immediately upon doing this NeoDevimon made a keening noise and flew back to the ground, Isaac sighing. "This guy isn't much for a swim, either. So it's probably best I change back for now," Isaac added. He took in a deep sigh, a soft glow overwhelming his body. His silhouette seemed to retract before Antylamon, until soon the very tall bunny was looking down at a very short imp. It was picture day at work all over again. "That's better. At least in this form, I can get wet."
Looking up at the watery surface, Isaac slowly started to fly up. He wouldn't be able to open his eyes underwater without it hurting like hell, but at least he could feel for the weakest parts of the ice. Holding his breath tightly, Isaac squeezed his eyes shut and began running his hands against the ice. Thank goodness for gloves!

Posture straightened, hearing the spirit user admit to such a fault. While the Beast gave a hum -- similar to Asher's often-provided response -- it didn't speak until Isaac had voiced his entire opinion. "They all want strength to win. So. Yes." This came out sharp, and it was obvious that there was no swaying the rabbit. She wasn't really wrong. All the reasons for strength came in the case it needed to be used, and nobody wanted to lose with it. Could Isaac really challenge that view? "It doesn't matter the cause. It's to avoid loss. What is your cause?" Careful with your reasoning, Isaac! You might just prove her right!
But, if there was a grin under that mask? She planned to destroy it. "Enlighten me. Why do you think my host is unconscious currently?" A small click came from the rabbit's throat, as she lowered her head to match height with NeoDevimon. And, if there had been question on if someone was grinning, it seemed as though Antylamon may have been doing so. Red eyes squinted slightly, while mouth curled upward, in a mixture of maliciousness and glee. "I give him credit. Nobody else was stubborn enough to actually complete loading my totem." Dumbass. "Let us rewind to the 'not the first spirit users in my sanctuary' piece, shall we?" Oh. Antylamon found this hilarious, somehow!
"And, I've already stated I can't kill you. Even unconscious, it seems He can control that much." Extra oh. Maybe Antylamon wasn't as friendly as Isaac was thinking! Or, it was an excuse. She was curious to see what the spirit user assumed.
Though, she had to wonder how Isaac was processing the situation at hand. "How does that solve the issue?" It probably doesn't. At all. Motherly figures were supposed to be motherly. Not murderous.
But, now they were primarily on the concern about brothers, instead. Something that Antylamon never cared to have. "Why don't you tell him that?" After a snicker, the rabbit stated, "oh. Wait. You can't. Shame you're bound by your insecurities." Okay, that was just mean. She was probably lucky that Asher was still in there somewhere! Though, was the Antylamon starting to move a little more slowly? Perhaps, she was starting to get tired.
"Were you raised identically?" Maybe -- or, not so 'maybe' -- the Beast was well aware of their situations being quite different. "I can easily argue that you were raised in a different manner than he was." As far as shoving someone into an empty room and trying to reset them? ...Antylamon knew where her bounds were as far as speaking out on someone else's personal experiences. "He's changed since he was younger. Changed a few years ago. Changed within the year. In fifty, it's unlikely he will match the personality you're familiar with. While name remains the same, do the insides?" After all, it wasn't like Asher was going to get a name change every time he started acting differently! "And, are you really sure you know him as well as you think you do, to begin with?" Man, the rabbit was certainly trying to make everything she could bite into Isaac's beliefs and securities, wasn't she? It was kind of mean.
Eyes lifted to stare at the ceiling, still bouncing baby in one hand. "Please do not blow up what we are trying to save," she requested, flatly. That would be annoying. And, there was no promise that she wouldn't kill Isaac in that scenario! And, after watching NeoDevimon's refusal to touch liquid, she had to snicker. "Is he afraid of water?" Poor thing. So useless and fragile! NeoDevimon only made for a good laugh, in her opinion thus far. Maybe he could redeem himself someday.
Resisting the urge to step on the imp that took the Champion's place, the bunny watched his attempt. Once within the water, if the Impmon were to open his eyes, he'd find that it was just freshwater. In fact, it seemed so pure that the Impmon may have been the only thing to really pollute the body of liquid. At one point, he might notice that a bump or tap on the ice would sound differently than it did initially. Perhaps, it was hollow? Or, did it actually mean that he was directly under the altar?
Either way, a mass of cracks would soon be found, which spidered out from the point. If Impmon had an attack that could work underwater, it could be an idea to try it. But, would he try to push through the centerpoint of the cracks to guarantee a break? Or, take a more cautious approach and check further out?
Antylamon couldn't really see what the imp was doing anymore, so she'd have to wait to find out. For all she knew, he was only intending to report back to her, while she assured that none of the babies began to bawl.

"My cause?" Isaac asked, tilting his head curiously. Granted, with NeoDevimon's posture, it was more like a near-180 degree rotation of his head, but the intent was clear. Maybe. Probably not. "Truth be told, I don't know. I never had the luxury of choosing." Isaac was all about admitting his flaws today, wasn't he? At least he wasn't under any illusion that he was some kind of legendary hero. "One minute I was running for my life, a living tank chasing after me to use me as target practice. The next, I found my Digivice, and with it my first spirit."
He sighed, rolling out his back with a few turns of his twiggy-looking shoulders. "I guess you could say my cause was survival, then," he admitted. "From that first day in the Digital World, to trying to get my own body back now, it's been my goal one way or another. But, if it was as simple as that, then I could've just left the Digital World altogether, right?" He let out a mechanical hum, listlessly scratching at his neck.
"I mean, I'm not a hero, he made sure to specify. "Elliot's real big on that word, but I've never felt comfortable with it. There's to much to that word, I think. But, these spirits bound to me, did they not? Not only do they lend me their power, but they even guide me from one to the next. I've always believed that I was bonded with these spirits for a reason. I may not know it yet, but I am sure the more I find, the more clear it will be. It would simply be an insult to take their gifts and sit on them."
He looked off into the distance, thinking about how often Yasyamon and Devidramon had supported him. They were more in the background than anything, unlike more overt manifestations like Sol and Antylamon. Frankly, had it not been for his experiences with NeoDevimon thus far, Isaac may not have even recognized their autonomy. Now, however, it cast a troubled haze over his eyes. "Besides. I am not the only one whose body has been warped," he said. "I owe it to my spirits to find a cure. And perhaps that, too, is my cause." Clearly, it wasn't as simple as just having one answer.
Maybe Isaac would have more vexing answers in mind. Now Antylamon leered down at Isaac, a malicious grin on her face to counter his own. "Unconscious," Isaac repeated as she explained her position. "Asher was not the first spirit user in your sanctuary. And yet, here he is. Unconscious, but alive. Alive enough to hold you back from actually killing me, or so you see. The way I see it, there are two options here. Either this human, who you claim to be so small, has impressed you enough to earned your allegiance. Or you tried to overcome him, and simply failed." Yeah, it didn't take NeoDevimon's paranoia for Isaac to dash away from Antylamon this time. He did not want to be introduced face-first to the wall! At least he had good reason to, considering he was about to degenerate and start examining the lake on the ceiling.
If Antylamon was this much of a piece of work, how bad would her mother be? "It means you and your sisters have time to grow, while she only remains stagnant," Isaac pointed out. "Whether to stand against her once more, or to try and reach her, every bit of time to prepare is of key importance." He huffed slightly, turning away from Antylamon as he looked off into the distance. "There are several problems I've tried to help with that I regret rushing into. Trust me; if you have any time to prepare, you should savor it."
It seemed Isaac had all the answers today. At least, until Antylamon brought up his insecurities about confronting Elliot. Even behind the mask, it was obvious from his eyes that NeoDevimon was trying, and failing, to speak. "That was just a low blow," he grumbled, finding no other words no matter how furiously he squinted at the cracks in the stone walls. Yep. There was no retort to be found here, and as soon as Antylamon shifted the subject to philosophical debates he was all too happy to take advantage of that fact.
"Well, what do you want me to say? That he's what you get when a father has a favorite, and I'm what you get when someone doesn't even have one?" Isaac asked. His voice crackled slightly, moreso than the usual distortion of NeoDevimon's voice box. It was clear this was a bit of a sore issue! "Nobody can be raised exactly the same as everyone else. There will always be something. The slightest difference. The littlest bias. The flapping of a butterfly's wing. Something is going to take a perfect replication and make it different. And that's just inevitable. Where do you draw the line as to who started it?" Was it Isaac, or was it his father?
Change. Yes, change was much nicer to think about. "Yes, he's changed. He will always change," Isaac said. "But he'll never go back to square one. He'll always have his memories. He'll always have his past experiences. Those become a part of his nature, too, even if they were built by nurture. It isn't one or the other, because they're one and the same." Frankly, this was getting way too philosophical for Isaac's tastes. Maybe having a spirit form that had a supercomputer haphazardly lodged into its brain actually did pay off, because in human form Isaac would've been slack-jawed trying to follow along with this.
Oh well. At least now Isaac was in a nice, comfortable form like Impmon. He huffed slightly as Antylamon immediately insulted the retreated NeoDevimon. She didn't even wait for his data to be still in the air before going for the jugular! "The guy's, like, made out of live wires," Isaac said, his speech way more casual than the loftier way NeoDevimon talked. Frankly, it was relaxing! "I don't think he's afraid of water so much as afraid of short circuiting and blowing half the place up."
The object was to not do that. Thankfully, Isaac was sure that Impmon could be cautious enough to work with this. He ran his fingers along the spider web of cracks, then upon realizing he couldn't feel the sting of brine against his eyes allowed himself to open them. Sure enough, he could see with no problems. There was certainly a large mass of cracks, but more importantly was there the telltale shadow of a heavy object above them? This could be a gap in the ice, or it could be the altar, but Isaac didn't want to risk punching through in the wrong place! "Here's a spot. Do you remember if that's where the altar is?" Isaac asked, not wanting to just rush into things and piss Antylamon off.
The good thing about flight meant that, even if he couldn't hold his breath all day, he could keep hovering below the water's surface to steal gulps of air in between investigations. Now that Isaac knew he could see through the water he made a point of checking as much of the ice as possible, using his eyes and hands alike to try and get a good sense as to what was going on. "I'll let you know if I see anything else that looks important," Isaac added as he began his search. "Just give me one second to check . . . "

As far as Antylamon was concerned, Isaac's ultimate response led to a victory for the rabbit! "You could have left the Digital World, before you were forced to keep Digital form," the digimon pointed out, slowly. "Granted, you could go back now. But, I feel that is ill-advised, even coming from me." Heck, Antylamon wouldn't want to go to the Human world, and she was far more capable of handling herself as an enormous rabbit! Imagine clumsy Isaac!
"Have you considered your spirits bound to you because they're tired of being dormant boxes?" That was a mood-killer, for sure! Surely, the spirit user was too stubborn to take that idea to heart, but Antylamon had to at least attempt to pop the bubble! "I have sat on my siblings before," the rabbit pointed out, in response to sitting on the gifts provided. "I must say that, while they did not appreciate it, there is some enjoyment to the peace and quiet that it can provide." While, originally, the statement may have seemed like it was going to be silly, it actually was meant as some form of wisdom! Though, surely, the Ultimate's sisters were not overly quiet after succeeding in removing an overgrown bunny from them!
And, while Isaac may have thought he scored a point against Antylamon in proving that her host couldn't be killed, the rabbit had to counter. "While a will is strong, it can be chipped at until it crumbles." Was she completely unfazed by being called out on her current inability? "When you consider I've been asleep for so long, while using what remained of my strength to keep my home in tact--" despite Isaac destroying it in less than a hour "--I still succeeded in being dominant. How long will it take until I recover to full state, and he dwindles to nothing?" Scary thought, but surely not entirely possible. After all, without Asher, what would become of the totems? "If he dies, after having loaded the totems he currently has, we return to the inquiry of what happens when a host passes. I would rather not damage the line that took sacrifice to create, out of my own selfishness."
Ah, if only the rabbit could live in the fantasy world that Isaac did, though! "It doesn't change the level difference. Nor does it change that spirits, all within the same body, cannot fight another spirit that will surely overpower them within said body." How could any of them do anything to one another? If Antylamon had the answer to that, surely Kinkakumon would end up with imaginary duct tape on her mouth! "This is one of the many instances where you can only fall to someone once. We do not receive a second opportunity." Much like normal death! Except, Antylamon was more than capable of hurting people outside of Asher's body!
Looking at you, Isaac.
Though, it didn't seem that she needed to make physical blows. The mental ones made Isaac crack enough! Luckily for the beast, she was quite fond of watching people break. "Could say that," she agreed, far too warmly. "It all boils down to who you want to blame," was her choice of response, when it came to who started what. Much like Nature Vs Nurture, itself. Which was to be blamed? Less than enthused by Isaac's reaction about change, the rabbit chose to ignore it. There wasn't enough tension to the subject, it seemed! Shame. She was still hoping for a proper chance to punch him in the face.
"So fragile," she mused, though remained content in the fact that NeoDevimon was not intent on becoming a Digi-bomb. Asher would probably be mad if the rabbit goaded Isaac into blowing himself up! Though, it was probably the most efficient way for her to succeed at the moment! But, she'd at least want him to survive long enough to prevent her entire life's work from being crumbled!
Looking up at the imp, head tilted. "It's... Hm," she mulled the thought over, while shifting her line of sight a bit. Where would the altar be sitting?
If Isaac went underwater again, once nearing the ice, he might hear a garbled recording. The sound would be far more obvious near the center of the web of cracks. "I bet there's not even anything under-" A small shatter, and the sound of a foot momentarily splashing against water, before it would continue to the familiar, "really? They seriously put water under there?" Maybe, such audio would provide Isaac with an idea that someone had been standing there once! And, a decent idea of where the cracks stood on the ice, considering it was dialogue that the teen had been present for! Surely, the altar wasn't placed directly where someone had stepped through the ice!
Not that Antylamon seemed fully aware of the sounds. Or, really, anything at all. From her safe place, inches above the ground, the rabbit's ears drooped briefly. A quick shake of the head seemed to wake her up, as she blinked a few times to reassess. "I don't think the altar's there," she answered, finally. Hopefully not! But, at least with the altar being the only thing in the room, Isaac wouldn't have to worry about anything else falling on his head!
