Since Brad had found his digimental in the Spyware Caves, he had felt... a little sad about the memories that awoke in there. Namely that he found out that he and his old friend, a Gabumon, had once got lost in there, and had both perished of starvation.
However, in his travel there with his friend Pipmon, he had found the Digimental of Curiosity. And with it, not only did he now have the ability to armor digivolve to Kumamon, but he had also seen Gabu's last message to him. That even though they had both lost their lives in the cave, he hoped that one day they would meet again.
Brad was a little sad to see this message. It seemed the Gabumon had truly liked him, and they had lots of adventures together. However, Brad had remembered none of them.
As Brad had reached the Core area from the North, he stepped off the Trailmon and entered Terminus City. From there, he didn't know where he'd go. He wanted to spend more time with his friends, but, who? Oh well. The Bearmon gave a yawn, reaching under his red t-shirt and scratching his belly. Perhaps now would be time for a sleep?
As Brad found a good place to rest for the night, something happened. His digimental glowed briefly, then, within Brad's bag, something began to form. It had a distinct egg shape, and from there, Brad's life would get considerably less lonely.
Brad awoke at the crack of dawn, with orange light shining through his inn room window. He got out of bed, brushed his fur, then reached into his bag for his hat, belts and t-shirt. But within, he felt something that definitely wasn't there before.
"What's this?" he asked, reaching into the bag. And there, he picked up a digimon egg. He gasped. Where did this come from?! What was it there for?! Had he found it in the Spyware Caverns and forgotten about it?
Brad wondered if he should take it to the Village of Beginnings, but, before he could do anything, it began to hatch. Brad watched with interest. And then, finally, a digimon emerged from it. It was a little red Punimon.
"Aww, how cute" Brad said, smiling. "Hello little one. How are you feeling?"
The Punimon at once began to cry. Brad sighed. "Are you hungry?" he asked. The Punimon stopped and nodded. "Alright. I'll get you something to eat".
He promptly went to the inn kitchen for some food. And there, he brought back an assortment of food. Well, best be prepared. The Punimon happily drank milk from a bottle. And before Brad's eyes, he promptly digivolved to Tsunomon.
"Oh gosh, you're growing fast!" he said, smiling.
"Yep!" the Tsunomon replied, happily. "I hope you're proud of me, daddy!"
"Daddy...?" Brad repeated, a little alarmed by this way of talking. "Oh good heavens no, I'm not your daddy" he giggled.
"Then what are you?" Tsunomon asked, curiously.
"I'm simply Brad, your friend" Brad answered, patting him on the head behind his horn. Tsunomon closed his eyes happily, making noises of comfort.
"Alright then, Braddy!" Tsunomon said. The Bearmon laughed at this. "I'm kinda hungry again, do you have anything else to eat?"
"Ah, of course you would be" Brad said, nodding with agreement. "I got some more food here, let's see now..." he held up a bag of fish, pulling one out. "Now you can eat this raw now or we can cook it and make it delicious-" he was cut off as Tsunomon bounced up and ate the small fish whole. "...alright then" Brad smiled.
After Tsunomon was well fed, it didn't seem like he would evolve again any time soon. He simply had a nap. Brad smiled, sitting next to him on the bed as he did so, not disturbing him. As Brad began to read a book to pass the time, he wondered more about this baby. Punimon, then Tsunomon? Hmm. And he had the egg in his backpack from his journey home from the Spyware caves. Could... could this be who he thought it was?
Brad looked down at the sleeping Tsunomon. Of course, it may take a little while from here for him to evolve to rookie, but, the Bearmon was fairly sure that he would evolve into the Gabumon that was once his friend.
And... what would happen then? Would Gabumon remember nothing about him as Brad didn't remember anything about Gabu? As he dwelled upon it, well, he supposed in the end it didn't matter.
Yes. The digimon that were once Kuma and Gabu had died, their memories lost. But now, they would simply begin anew. Brad was Brad now, and this Tsunomon, he would take care of him and help him grow strong and teach him all he knew about the world.
After a few hours of reading his book, Brad heard Tsunomon stir. The in-training digimon yawned and opened his red eyes.
"Hey Brad..." he said. "What are we gonna do next? Are we just gonna sit in here all day?"
Brad shook his head. "No, we can go for a long walk if you like" he said. "There's no reason why we need to stay in the same place".
The Bearmon stood up from the bed, Tsunomon bouncing off after him. "Why, we could even explore the digital world together. I've been to lots of places, and I could help you see them too"
"Really?!" Tsunomon asked, bouncing happily. "That's awesome, Braddy! Let's do that!"
"Hee hee, alright" Brad said, cleaning up his things and putting them into his backpack. "Very well, let's go".
After checking out of the hotel, Brad and Tsunomon began a long journey together.
"Hey Braddy...?"
"Yes, Tsunomon?"
"Can I get a T-shirt like yours?"
"Well..." Brad hesitated in answering. "Perhaps when you evolve to Rookie. One generally needs a chest and arms to successfully wear a t-shirt".
"Aww, okay".
And so the two digimon went forth on their adventures together.
Posts please.
