Satsuki wanted to freaking punch someone right now. Anyone would have done well at this point. She seriously was losing her patience standing in this elevator. Despite it not being particularly cramped, the only other individual in there being her partner; it still did not relieve any of the tension that was in the air.
It started off as a pretty simple day frankly... Just a little shopping trip to the Terminus Mall. It shouldn't have been a particularly difficult task... but it seemed her luck today was not kind to her.
A simple trip up the elevator ended up turning disastrous when the machinery abruptly stopped in an mid-way traveling through the floors. At first, the tamer had expected for everything to have been fixed within an hour tops. While she could hear faintly people outside, seemingly scrambling to try and get the occupants of said elevator out... Yet, despite the loud banging and noises outside; it didn't seem like help was going to be coming terribly soon.
The girl began to mash the buttons to the elevator in a attempt to pass the time. Of course, nothing would come out of it; but it was better than just sitting around. Perhaps it was just the hopeful wish that after pressing one of the buttons, the elevator would magically start working that was keeping her going; but even she had to face the facts when they were completely visible.
They were trapped, and it didn't look like they were getting out anytime soon.
The girl groaned as she proceeded to take a seat back down, laying by her partner; Circe lounging on the floor and attempting to relax. "Goddamn stupid engineers. If I ever meet the idiot who designed this elevator..." The girl would mutter before being interrupted by the Arpamon.
"You'll choke them?"
"No no, choking is different from strangling. Choking is when you eat say a hotdog or piece of steak without chewing, then suffocating to death. Strangling is when I firmly grasp their neck with my hands and throttle them. Slowly and painfully." The human would say, gesturing with a hand gripping an imaginary neck.
This caused the sheep-like Digimon to snicker, finding the little display to be quite hilarious. "Hee hee ~ ! I'd hate to be that guy then!" The Rookie would chirp, but then quickly calming back down. "When those schmucks gonna get us out anyway? It's already been like... a few hours."
The girl could not help but grimace, she growling slightly. "They are all a bunch of fuckin' idiots. I bet those buffoons are just scrambling like a bunch of headless chickens, not making any progress. I wouldn't trust them to screw a lightbulb at this rate." The girl would say, deciding to join her partner in lounging down on the metallic floor.
It certainly was anything but comfortable, but it was liveable.
She could wait though. She was a patient person. She'd wait as long as she DAMN well needed to.
Satsuki was already regretting telling herself that she'd be able to wait. She didn't know how long they've been in here. Long enough that she and Circe eventually went to sleep for at least eight hours, then wake up only to find that they were STILL imprisoned in the elevator.
What the bloody hell were those workers doing. They were REALLY taking their sweet time here. It must have been almost a day now...
The teen rolled around the floor, groaning irritantly as she soon woke up. "... They STILL haven't made progress? The hell is wrong with these people?" She'd say aloud, she growing more and more frustrated.
The black sheep Digimon while was normally a rather cheery individual, it was clear even this ordeal was grating their nerves. "Meh... this sucks Suki. When they gonna bust us out?"
The girl honestly didn't have much of an idea. She checked her phone, though unfortunately the device was fresh out of power. Just her luck too... she was starting to think investing into a mechanical watch was a decent idea in the future.
With no way to actual measure time, it came down roughly to just guessing times to figure out how long they've been stuck down here. It must have been almost a day at this point. If they didn't get busted out of here soon... there actually WAS a legitimate risk they could get dehydrated or starve. If a day wasn't enough time to get them out... what WAS?
Despite the questionable integrity of their future, Satsuk remained resolute in keeping her wits and sanity through this trial of fortitude. "... Fuck, I don't know. Just... let's just try and avoid going insane beforehand. It's gotta be soon. It just has to be. How much longer could it be?"
As it turned out, much longer than Satsuki really wished for.
Despite spending alot of time sleeping, it didn't seem like any progress was being made outside. Apparently these freaking elevators are made of like diamonds, as she could hear the sounds of drills sending out sparks; there not seemingly any progress into cracking into their tincan prison.
Circe was trying her best to keep morale up, starting up multiple different conversations to try and pass the time. Topics ranged from simply poking fun at the many weird (and at times unfortunate) species of Digimon to even reminiscing about their times together when their bond was merely human and Tamagotchi.
While on the inane side at times, the conversations helped greatly in keeping the pair at least mildly occupied.
Satsuki was woken up from her sleep once more by her own body. Her stomach was desperately screeching for sustenance. Unfortunately for it, she didn't exactly have anything to fill the void inside.
"... Ugh, you hungry too Circe?" The human would ask the Arpamon, a grumble coming from the Rookie level's stomach. So much for that question...
Circe seemed to wince slightly, the look on their face a bit exasperated. "Yeah... I haven't had anything to eat like since... Ya know, I'm not even sure if it's even yesterday anymore."
"Ditto. I'm thirsty and will starve if we don't get out of here soon." The human would state, she weakly getting up. The stress of the situation and the lack of fuel was really starting to get Satsuki, she unsure how much longer she'd be able to handle all of this.
It was then that the Arpamon that was by her side seemed to suddenly have a realization... The sheep Digimon stood up and began channelling what seemed to be a mixture of red ones and zeros, the binary coding seemingly taking on the form of a paper bag with a picture of a Burgermon plastered on it. A moment later, she was also able to re-materialize a plastic cup with some soda in it.
Satsuki's eyes lit up, she unable to believe what she was seeing. "Y-you had food all this time?!" She'd exclaim, swiftly snatching the bag and soda cup from her partner. It didn't take long for her to take out a half-eaten burger and to drink the contents of the cup.
Circe somewhat awkwardly smiled, laughing weakly. "I uh... kinda forgot I saved some leftovers from like a week ago. I know it's not alot... but anything is better than nothing, right?" She'd say reaching a cloven hoove into the bag and grabbing a handful of stale fries, shoving them into her mouth.
It didn't take long for her tamer to have devoured the burger, a wild look on her face. While the girl didn't say anything, Circe at least was relieved that she at least helped Satsuki out in some way.
"Whyyyyy hellooooo my lovelies! Your friendly neighborhood vampire and anchorman for the Terminus City News Channel, Myotismon, is here to bring you some hot and exciting news!"
"Earlier this week, disaster struck the one destination for Digital World-related needs, the Terminus Mall! What was perhaps an idyllic shopping trip for two potential customers turned into a horrific nightmare when an elevator broke down in-between floors! Oh how shocking!"
"Brave Digimon immediately jumped to action to try and free the helpless tamer and Digimon partner that had been imprisoned in the elevator! But alas, these efforts were not enough to free the pair in a single day's worth of time. No my viewers, this rescue operation would take more than FIVE days to crack open the broken elevator and free it's occupants!"
"Reports say that the incident was cause by faulty electrical wiring. Rescue operations were inhibited by the framework of the elevator being made from pure, tempered Chrome Digizoid; resistant to nearly all forms of damage! Who would have thought the very thing designed to protect occupants would end up being the one thing trapping them! Oh how horrible!"
"Luckily, with much perseversance; the elevator's hard metal surface was cracked open! All in the time frame of five days! I'll be tossing the focus to our live reporter, Gossipmon; who has at hand one of the victims! Say hi to the people Gossipmon!"
"Hi to the people! I'm Gossipmon and I have right here the human girl who survived this horrid disaster! So miss, what do you have to say to those watching?"
"I'll TELL you what I have to say! The idiots who did this stupid rescue mission are going to HELL! Did it seriously take you morons five FUCKING days just to crack open a stupid elevator?! My dog could do a better job than you incompetent assholes!"
"Gee, those are some harsh words lady. What do you plan to do now that you are free? Never venture into elevators again? Sworn off McBurgermon's for life? Give me your thoughts."
"I'll say one thing... And it's that I'm going to get myself a lawyer. And I'm going to SUE the living HELL out of this stupid mall and rescue crew for what I've had to endure through! I had to freaking pee in a cup for god's sake! A CUP!"
"Well... that sounds horrible. Well you heard it folks. Is the reputation of Terminus Mall's family-friendly safe environment going to plummet with this incident? Only time will tell I suppose. Back to you Myotismon."
"Wait, I wasn't done talking you shitty cent-"
