Pep Talk from the Fierce Cat [Eli]

"Isaac sure is gaga over Maia, huh?" Karin commented, chuckling. "...Though it's not that I question Maia's love to him... how to say... it just feel like she's the more subdued one of the two..." and this is somehow the time Eli talks about that event, albeit not in detail. Karin sighed and strokes his head. "...I'm sorry I'm not there with you guys... If only I was there... I might can help..."
But it's seem that it's not needed all that much, especially since Eli is on Jeanne's chest. Looking at the pleading eyes, Jeanne's sisterly smile suddenly turned predatory for a spit second. "Araa, don't be bothered, little Eli. Of course Oneechan understands, you're not doing this on purpose, yes? It's Oneechan's fault to pull you too strongly... But you know, something tells me that you enjoys it... Eli is a pervert, hmmm~? Ahaha, that's so cuteee~ Don't worry, I won't blame you. it's normal for young boys to be interested in opposite sex, yes~?
You know... you're so cute, how come you're the less lucky of the two, Eli? Clearly we need to fix that after this..."
"Alright alright, stop, stop, he'll get boiled like an octopus!" Karin forcefully separated two of them. When they resumed their shopping, Karin was surprised that he wanted to buy the scarf on his own. Oh well, not that she's against it. She let him pay one and pay the rest herself. Viva credit card and membership card. Of course she got quite the discount for it... also got some stamps too.

"Yeah, Isaac's definitely the talker of the two," Elliot said. "I can't blame him, though. I think he feels like making Maia happy has been one of the best things he's done since coming here. He really likes helping people, and he'll talk about how he feels all day if it means getting to see her smile." Wow, even Elliot knew how to talk about Maia like his brother did. It was almost like Isaac was right there.
He didn't want to dwell on the mission too much. Instead, he just enjoyed Karin's gentle reassurance, thanking all of his lucky stars that she wasn't there to get hurt too.
At least Jeanne had interrupted him before he said anything like that. His pleading look seemed to excite her a little bit too much, and she was practically squealing about how cute he was while squeezing him further into her chest. Of course, she also accused him of enjoying it while he was too muffled to properly defend himself. Only a deepening blush could serve as a response. For a second he considered shaking his head to protest, but that could be taken way, way too improperly for Elliot's comfort. Poor kid.
Thankfully, Karin released him. Elliot took a breath that he had been holding in all this time, glad he could finally avoid Jeanne's teasing. However, one of her statements left him quite confused. "Fix what?" he asked, clearly wondering what terrifying thoughts were crossing Jeanne's mind.
As soon as Elliot bought the scarf, he promptly turned and gave it to Karin. "Surprise!" he chirped, smiling shyly. "I think that'll look good with your shirt, right?"

"Well, ain't that sweet?" Karin commented. "Still, I never knew that Shibuya become place of where expats become lovers, though... honestly, the amount of kids from other country is a lot... and most of them related to Digital World... yet you'd wonder if it's a fate or just Digital World's favoritism...
...Also, you totally sounded like Isaac over there," Karin teased. "Hope you'll get a good girl that would make you talk about her like that."
"That's why I said we need to fix him!" Jeanne said, still holding the poor boy tight on her embrace.. at least until Karin separated them. Jeanne admittedly looked a bit disappointed, because she did felt slight jolt there when she hugged Eli. A pity really. Had she shook his head, it'll be much funnier.. "He's cute, he's handsome, it's a waste and honestly blew to my maiden's heart if he doesn't have any girl that he could love in special way! That's why... after the game center, I'll give him flirting lesson 101! Oh, by the way, do you like busty girls? I mean, you were frozen there for long..." Jeanne teased again. "It's OK, I'm a digimon, it doesn't matter if you want to try again~~"
"HOOOLD IT!" Karin interjected. "Why I'm having a bad idea about this?"
"Come on! I know you actually thinking the same thing, Mistress! I mean, his brother got one, why don't he got one being this sweet ball of adorableness? That's why it's time to upgrade Elliot.exe to Elliot_MkII.exe!"
"Don't talk as if he's a program! ...honestly--eh?"
She was surprised when he gave her the scarf. She looked at it for a moment before tying it on her wrist. As for now, she got choker, that's why she doesn't wear it there. Instead of thanking him, though, she looked at Jeanne. "...You know what, Jeanne..."
The two of them grinned at the same time."...This one guy is a natural born ladykiller. That was a damn smooth move..."

Elliot didn't really get what needed to be fixed about him. He was fine with himself! Sure, maybe it'd be nice to not get smothered in Jeanne's chest, but beyond that Elliot was pretty happy with himself as is. Then again, it seemed like Jeanne saw some stuff in him that Elliot didn't really notice. "Handsome?" he asked, a hint of disbelief to his voice. He seriously didn't get how such a thing was possible. He was Elliot! Adorable he could accept, but in the tiny kid way. Not in the it is a shame the ladies aren't fawning over him way like Jeanne seemed to be implying. It seemed like he would have to break Jeanne's maiden's heart, too, by confirming her suspicions. "Y-yeah, I don't really have anyone like that now," he added.
It seemed Jeanne already had plans to rectify that, Elliot taking a slight step back in shock at hearing it. "Wait, flirting lessons?" he asked. How the heck would that even work? Considering how terrifyingly effective Jeanne and Karin were at it, probably not very well. Elliot considered asking if this would just be Jeanne's excuse for further tormenting him, but what she said next thankfully convinced Elliot that Jeanne didn't need an excuse to torment him. His blush deepened hilariously as Jeanne asked if he enjoyed being held down there. "You," he stammered, trying to find the proper sentence. "You have a really strong grip." Seriously, she couldn't hold him hostage and then call him a pervert. That was unfair!
At least Elliot could count on Karin to bail him out of this. She had gotten Elliot out of Jeanne's mantis-like grip before, and she seemed committed to being the voice of reason today when things got a bit too predatory. Or, at least, that was the case until Elliot made the mistake of getting Karin a gift. That seemed to flip a switch in her brain, and whatever she thought of Elliot before now she seemed to see potential in him. Elliot swallowed nervously, withering a little under the terrifying and very attractive grins of Karin and Jeanne. "I really don't think that describes me," he said nervously, wondering where the heck that natural-born ladykiller comment came from.
Elliot had a bad, bad feeling about this.

"I'm talking about the future. You see, there are some kids that looked so cute at first and suddenly when they grew up they looked so dashing that it make girls fangirl them! Karin's boyfriend is an example," Jeanne commented. She took out her phone and shows Yuuki when he's 12... cold looking, but definitely still cute. He got this really unamused face, though... and then she swiped and showed him the picture when he's 17. The difference is indeed there. Babyfaced to some model looking face that just screamed 'fangirling worthy'.
"Seriously, don't rope Yuuki to your talk casually. You know he's been very bothered after he took that advertisement job... a lot of girls just suddenly knew him and all.."
"...And now he just broke my maiden's heart afterall!" Jeanne lamented. "Geez, this won't do! Big sis will definitely teach you how to use your natural charm!"
Whatever bad feeling Eli have about these two, he's seriously right on it. Very very accurate kind of guess. They're both lioness that looked at their prey (him), trying to teach him some art that may or may not be useful. However, whether he can utilize it or not is probably not something that either of them particularly cares about. It might be only their reason to have a little harmless fun at his expense.
"Ara, when I'm with this body I'm just a frail lady, though?" Jeanne teased.
"Well, that aside," Karin finally interjected "we're done here, pretty much, right? Let's move somewhere else. Game center for example. I'll show you how suck I can be at aiming."

Elliot nodded as he listened to Jeanne's example, although did it really always work that way? Isaac was always just kind of Isaac. And being related to Isaac, Elliot didn't exactly foresee a huge change coming his way either. Then again, they were both still young. Who knows what would await them in the near future? In a way, the idea that he'd look dashing actually reassured Elliot a bit. He softly smiled, looking up at Jeanne and saying "Thank you." Although Karin put an end to any talk of Yuuki being brought up, so Elliot decided wisely not to ask any other questions on that front.
Jeanne? Frail? She was pretty damn strong, if the slight soreness to Elliot's neck was any indication. A holosuit may have locked away the more Digimon aspects of her strength, but she still had one heck of a grip. Elliot wasn't exactly the strongest, either, although he noticed that such a fact had been changing lately. Maybe it was all the time spent doing high-intensity activity in another world, but Elliot was actually starting to get a decent amount of toning to him. It was barely noticeable unless paying close attention, of course, but he was in the best shape of his life! Maybe the Digital World had a few health benefits to make up for all of the stress and pain that it had caused him.
That didn't change the fact that Jeanne's grip, paired with his bad leg, wasn't a great combo. "I dunno. You seem pretty strong to me," Elliot said. She was certainly coming off very strongly, at least! Poor Elliot seriously didn't sign up for this.
At least the clothing store ended before either of the two decided to make Elliot model for his amusement. He sighed a little in relief, before his eyes lit up at mention of the arcade yet again. "Sounds good to me!" he chirped, smiling widely. Games were one of his main escapes after all of the stress that he had been going through, and now he would have a chance to indulge himself all over again. "Although I bet you're good at aiming. I mean, you fight a lot, right?"

"Non non," Jeanne wagged her index finger childishly at Eli's remark. "At this sort of situation, you shouldn't use 'strong' to describe a girl in playful situation! They'd think they're butch, and that's the worst thing to say to a girl if they're conscious about themselves!" ...Did the flirting lesson already started? Did it? Oh dear, heavens have mercy on the poor kid.
"Granted, a girl's heart is a complex thing, I'm sure you already know this. Some girls actually takes it as a praise to be called strong, but most girls doesn't like to be called strong when it comes to their physical side. Don't call them frail either though... They'd feel like they're belittled, so the right way to do it is to stay clear from anything related to their physical side. Appearance wise, it's best if you stick to 'cute' or 'beautiful', but make sure to not toss praises like candy. One or two are treats, but tossing many at once is just asking for diabetes."
Luckily from that point, Karin shoved Jeanne slightly to stop her. from talking more. Eli's question is quite justified. Karin fights a lot, surely she have good aim?
"But that's where you are wrong," Karin told him "a good Digimon does indeed have both long range and short range skills, but in my case, I have no long range abilities at all. If there is something that resembles long range moves, it's mostly user-centric area skills such as rose storm. I'm very close combat orientated, and I'm honestly thankful of it.. because Jeanne's also close combat orientated. That's why I'm still suck at aiming, but..."
Karin suddenly kicked empty air, making a rather satisfying 'whoosh' sound.
"...As you can see, I'm quite a great fighter on kicking and such.Tell you what, maybe I can teach you a bit of my fighting style if you want. It's probably not all that great, but I'm sure it'll work good as reference."

Don't call her strong? Honestly, Elliot couldn't see why. Jeanne being strong was one of the things that was really cool about her! Still, people could be funny sometimes, and not all of them were as earnest in both giving and receiving compliments as Elliot. This kid needed to get a bit more guile to him! "I think that's a really cool thing, but I get what you mean," he said, taking down notes. What else would he be able to say that was really cool and special about Jeanne? Oh! There was one! "Would you prefer I call you an angel?"
Elliot may not have even paid attention to the implications that might've had, considering he was talking to a literal angel.
It made sense to Elliot that Karin would be more of a close range fighter. She liked hitting things. And people. A lot. Personally. Shooting skills probably didn't feel as satisfying to her as stomping down on them. Maybe that was why Asher was so scared of her. Most humans, and even spirit users, didn't turn out even scarier out of the Digital World than they did in it! Nevertheless, he had to admire the crisp form of her kicks. She really did hone this martial art skill to perfection, didn't she?
She asked if he wanted a chance of doing so as well. Elliot looked down at his bad leg, which he could either limply slap someone with or collapse on when trying to kick with his good leg. Yeah, that wouldn't be a good match either way, would it? "I don't really think our styles match up, sorry," he said, shrugging. "But I think Isaac'd really appreciate the chance to learn, when he's back. I think some structure in his life'd do him some good, and maybe he wouldn't have to fight everything like some kind of rabid badger." What he lacked in technique he made up for in spirit. How terrifying would he be if he had both?

"Oh my, don't you somehow meant satan?"Jeanne teased. "I mean, I get that a lot you know? People calls me an angel when they met me then after they heard me talking they literally cannot hit undo fast enough and accidentally called me satan. I'm not a devious angel without a reason, don't you think~? Oh and, I felt like angels should be reserved to Luminas people. not someone who hates their guts~"
...It at first sounded like she's tossing a threat, but upon closer look, she winked and reassured him that she's just joking... well, semi-joking. The hate is real. But Eli doesn't have to know that.
"Asher seem to be in very firm belief that I'm some demon or some sort. Maybe you know, I'll get alternate form and go on ahead with demon look? Or maybe it's more humorous with me staying an angel? Whatever the case was, angel is not really a figurative way to describe me. Literal sure, but figuratively? I'm a demon more or less~" but it doesn't seem to bother her the slightest!
"Well, I don't just go kicking around, you know," Karin finally spoke. "I mean, I'm also good at using swords... and pile bunker."
"Especially the pile bunker," Jeanne commented. "By the way, Isaac fights like a rabid badger? Really? I need to test that out somehow!" The angel found herself saying in delight.
"...Oh boy." Karin muttered. Luckily, they've arrived to gaming center soon after. Karin paid to get some coins and seem she's ready to play.
"Anyway, let's go over there?" she pointed at the shooting games section. A lot of them is the standing type, and it might be concerning for Eli... but Karin skipped that part and goes to the one with seats. It's designed to look like some car with gun attached.
"That one should be good."
Zombiecalypse III, it says.

Elliot blinked. Did people really want to undo that? Sure, Jeanne might have had a forceful personality, but she was also really fun to talk to! Her flirting kind of made Elliot want to crawl into a hole and die, but at the same time she was also helping him feel a lot better about himself. "Well, hey," he said, smiling softly at Jeanne. "If that's the case, I must like Satan a lot more than I expected." He meant that totally innocuously, but wow was that a line to drop. Elliot would never get off of Jeanne's radar today, would he?
Karin's martial art at least seemed a bit more expansive than Elliot figured, but the other major aspect didn't really fit with him either. He already had a hand full at all times due to his walking stick, so a sword was far from the ideal. Either he wouldn't have a shield to pair it with, or he'd have to very awkwardly work around a two handed one despite his disability. For a full one handed style, like a fencer, the bad leg and walking stick would make a proper stance nigh impossible. His brow wrinkled a little in concerned as he realized that, nope, any way he slices it such a style just wouldn't work for him.
Karin's third skill caught Elliot's attention, though. "Pile . . . bunker?" he asked, trying to figure out just what the heck he was talking about.
At Jeanne mentioning testing Isaac's fighting skill, Elliot laughed a little. "I don't think he could muster up the spark unless, like, Maia or I were in danger," he admitted. "He might talk big, but he actually really prefers solving all his problems peacefully. In fact, we haven't deleted a single Digimon since we've come to the Digital World." Briefly remembering his messier fights with the D-Reaper, Elliot cringed. Right. That was the closest he had come to properly "killing" anything, and the way that it made him feel was indescribable.
But hey, not much more time for talk. There were games now! Elliot sighed in relief as he noticed the seated game, sliding in right next to Karin and picking up his gun with surprising expertise. "Love this one," he said, running a few button checks before turning to Karin. "Ready when you are!"

"Elliot, Darling, many people would tell you that frolicking with Satan is going to bring you to hell. I can assure you though that I will give you one~ Or actually, I already gave you one, come to think of it? Whatever the case, Eli, do you like the satan for her boobies, her personality... or is it that you've affected by hanging bridge effect and thinking your fear to this one angel is instead some form of interest?" Jeanne asked, clearly having fun that Eli decided to confess that he actually likes her. However, Karin...
"Yes, keep that up and you'll end in marshmallow hell. Seriously, Eli, don't. Don't go there, no matter how sweet the honey that hanging in front of your face is. TOTALLY DON'T."
Hmmm, what's that? The boy never heard of pile bunker?
"Yes, pile bunker. Essentially it's like a battering ram, but a heavy duty battering ram that you only need to wear on your arm, that's all. Admittedly, it might be hard to get used to, as it's not your ordinary weapon. But you know, that's not really important, hmmm... I guess if we were to train on fighting style, we should somehow get a way to fix your leg first... it should be possible in Digital World somehow..."
...Karin seem already formulating it, doesn't she?
The talk about deleting made Karin looked a bit solemn. "Good, kids like you two shouldn't be thinking about deleting Digimons. I prefer you guys do it that way honestly."
...Karin, you're as old as Isaac though!
Karin obviously took the gun and inserted the coin... lo and behold, she's not lying. At least 20% of the bullet hits on non fatal spot... rest, is absolutely miss. When she's lucky, the screen is flooded by zombies and it's easier for her to score hit even when she missed her intended target. How could someone miss with that big fat target mark on the zombie's head is beyond Jeanne's logic unfortunately.

If this was what hell was like, it didn't seem so bad. True, he was in such a state of embarrassment that his ability to even process embarrassment was starting to be burnt out, but at least he was being embarrassed by kind, generous people. Although . . . what was it that Jeanne just said? Elliot blushed a little at Jeanne's teasing, making sure to keep his eyes on everything but Jeanne. He didn't want to be accused of looking! "W-well, I don't think I'm scared of you. In fact, you're really nice, and really cool," Elliot said. "So I guess personality?" It seemed like Elliot wasn't really listening to Karin's advice as much as he should have. The poor fool.
He did listen to the advice about the pile bunker. It sounded like some kind of giant power tool that was supposed to be supported with one arm. Elliot blinked as he imagined himself strapping it on and falling over on his side like some kind of fainting goat. "Heavy" and "Elliot" just weren't words that went together! At all! However, while Elliot was busy wondering this, he almost missed something else that Karin had to say. He could tell she was planning something, and as he thought back to hear what it was he nearly did a double take. "Wait, fix it?" he asked. The plate grew in wrong at way too formative of an age. How could Karin even do that?
Elliot nodded at Karin's solemn look. "I know they come back and all, but I never want to do that," he said, resolute. "Nobody ever deserves to have to go through that kind of thing. Especially if there's not another way." They had been around degeneration, true, but never been the cause. As far as Elliot was concerned, it was staying that way.
What Elliot was totally fine with, on the other hand, was killing virtual zombies. He was a real deadeye in comparison, if only due to gaming for the entirety of his life. Not only did he do a good job of clearing his own side, but he even helped protect Karin whenever the zombies she missed were getting too close. Just because he was hilariously incompatible with Karin's preferred fighting style didn't mean he was useless, it seemed!
Or, at least, in a virtual world.

"Ara, not scared at me? Then you should know that in some way, looking at the person directly is the way to say that you're not scared~ At the moment I can't tell whether you're scared or shy, see~? So why don't you really prove it that you're not scared at me?" Jeanne teased. Meanwhile, Karin only can facepalm. This fool, she have no idea what she's going to do with him at all.
"Fix it, yes. Is it strange? I mean, if you're paying attention, Hakase is actually a really talented doctor. Unfortunately, his ability is not that good enough to just like that fix your leg, or I'll be suggesting it to you already. You might be thinking how your injury is permanent, but a lot of way can get around it... for example, if you can be changed into data, and Hakase can see the extent of the damage, he can practically fix it in a jiffy. It's going to hurt like a bitch though. I ever tried... but it wasn't a permanent damage, so Hakase can fix it easily, but man... even with anesthesia it still hurts as hell."
"In case you're wondering, it's to fix her broken bone in one of the battle," Jeanne supplied helpfully.
Karin would say Elliot is naive usually, but she decided to shut up for the meantime and let the matter drop. She's not in place to change that view... yet. She had no idea what sort of enemies has he fought, so she can't go on and swoop and call him any adjectives that she usually reserved for overly positive people.
"Huh, nice shoots," Karin commented. "Seriously though, I always wondered why I can't even aim properly... and here beside me is a great sniper, hah!" at least her misses are helped with the fact that she reloads faster than anyone, so that meant she's just... probably too impulsive.

"Oh, shy. Definitely," Elliot admitted, making to clear this next wave of zombies quickly so that he could try and prove it to Jeanne. Was he seriously doing this? It seemed he was both very cognizant of his own flaws and surprisingly stubborn when rising to challenges. No wonder he was able to keep up with Isaac. There may have been a slight blush around Elliot's cheeks, but he wasn't exactly flinching away in fear, either.
Well, maybe Jeanne would try and change that, one way or another.
After all, Karin was trying to change Elliot's leg. Elliot looked down at it, very shocked at even the idea. "Back at home, the doctors said there was nothing I could do," Elliot admitted. "It was a growth plate break. When it grew in it grew in wrong, and it'd always keep growing in wrong. And that's why it's like this. Can it really be fixed?" There was a soft hope behind his eyes, which started to water ever so slightly. Unlike what Karin mentioned, which seemed to be a fix to a temporary problem, this was something far deeper. However, if Karin believed this was possible, so did Elliot. Maybe he'd just need to keep holding out hope, even if it was more pain than he had ever felt in his life.
Elliot smiled shyly at the mention of him being a great sniper. "I just have good reflexes," he said, looking quite bashful. "But thanks! Isaac always said I played too many games, but I guess it pays off sometimes. Although I don't think any of my forms ever ended up being sharpshooters. That's kind of a shame." Oh well. That's what video games were for!

"Aww, shy?" Jeanne chuckled and hugged him again. "...You know, Eli, I'm just bunch of 0 and 1s... Think of me like that and you'll understand that a~~ll these thoughts of yours about me is just a placebo effect. Remember, Digimons don't have anything under what we're not rendered with, so you might look at me and think I'm with organ, but actually I'm not, yay!"
"...OK, suddenly I felt weird," Karin muttered. "It's like you're trying too hard and now just pranking the kid. For your information I suddenly thought that you're some blew up doll..."
...It took a while for Karin to proceed her own words then literally headdesked to the attraction, SHE CAN'T BELIEVE WHAT SHE'S EVEN SAYING!
"Did you just--"
"FORGET IT! JESUS!"
Though the talk about the leg luckily made Karin felt more at ease. Calm down Karin, you don't want this to be Alicia 2.0 incident. You really don't want it to be so shut your big mouth, Karin!
"I think so... granted, it was not like mine... I mean, I think I know what you're talking of, but if we treat that damage as a data that need to be fixed, and turn you into data, it might be possible for you to completely recovered from it. It requires conversion from analog to digital, then digital to analog again, then I think you'll be great!"
Huh, is he comfortable enough to talk about his spirits now?
"Is that so? That's pretty cool, Eli... I wasn't that much of a gamer, but I'll show you something cool..."
Karin walked to the other attraction, and this one too got seat on it. It looked like drum. She inserted a coin and picked a song, then she began drumming away. Yes, it's a drum game, and while she's drumming, she's also singing! It definitely attracted some crowds, but she doesn't care that much.
