Now they were finally getting somewhere! Both Katsura and Nyao were having a breakthrough the former because Alexis was giving not so subtle metaphors to what happened to Liliana and Nyao who found out that A Alexander is a tamer (not the biggest twist there though) and B that this is going way deeper than just the misadventures of Hackmon and Alexis. Perhaps most groundbreaking was knowing that Alexis wasn't brainwashed after all, she was suffering from amnesia that somehow only targeted "bad memories" creating this creepy sweet girl.
With Zubamon entering the scene and ostensibly shutting Hackmon up, Nyao could return to trolling nature and still harvesting important information. First by tearing down Zubamon's taunt with one significant flaw in the argument.
"Oh, you're going to call me partner or best friend for life? Because these are the names Katsura picked for me, all I ever could come up with was Nyao. I'm so ashamed of my lack of creativity" There was a stealthy insult to the nature of taming a digimon hidden somewhere between the bragging of how they were not in a master/servant relationship unlike say Hackmon. Either that or she's ashamed of being a cat named Nyao.
Meanwhile Katsura was listening to Alexis and was picking up on something, Alexis couldn't remember ever being sad? That would normally be an odd thing to say but when spoken by Alexis Katsura realized the extent of the amnesia. Katsura opened her eyes up wide as the realization sinked in. And thus Katsura listened carefully to the story of this gothic lolita well aware that this was a tale about Liliana.
Hearing Alexander condemn the story was for Katsura a subtle clue that Alexis was not supposed to be able to know that much. Katsura used everything she had learned about emotions and social demeanor to come off as interested as possible, now Katsura had to encourage Alexis no matter what.
"That sounds so exciting! Can you tell us more about this girl?" It was important to outshine Alexander at this critical moment as the worst possible outcome would be for Alexis to go back into her shell.

"You allowed a human to tame you, I have hated the word tamer for a long time, and no I don't think she should call you anything like that, but you do have a name Gatomon. But I will ask again, why sneak inside my human's girlfriends home?" Alexis was saying notes that sounded like a dream to her it was made up. But when telling it to the two people that knew her, it's like a memory coming to her, but in an odd form. "Oh, let's see I don't recall much, red eyes, but it was one thing I did fear in the dream, but I don't know why it felt like I was looking at a nightmare." She needed to tell this correctly.
"I was far away in the back, while that evil looking girl was facing a demon type thing, that had red eye's and black clothes, it looked human, but wasn't, it looked like something from a book, but the girl that was human was picked up by that demon and made to feel fear, some reason I panicked and before I woke up, it scared me, and that poor girl forced into fear had a face that wanted nothing but revenge before being saved by someone with wings." She would think smiling then let out a soft laugh.
"Sounds odd, doesn't it, but I'm sure nobody would make anybody go into that type of fear, things like that only happen within nightmares after all." Alexander looked confused when did that happen? "Oh.....you have odd dreams, Alexis." He really didn't recall that event but would Katsura?

Oh yes, Katsura knew what was going on there. This "dream" was the time when Nyao finally had enough of Liliana bullying despite increasingly attempts to make friends. The events that day are among Katsura's greatest regrets since becoming a tamer. Hearing them out like this made Katsura feel even worse about herself. That's why when Alexis laughed, so did Katsura but it was a blatantly forced and anxious laughter. Still it is very rude not to participate in a conversation.
"She sounds so interesting, I think she reminds me of another girl in black. I was out in the forest with Nyao when this girl out of nowhere wanted me to be her slave. Obviously I said no but then she kept pushing and Nyao thought she should take a mile in my shoes. It was a terrible mistake but... every time I tried to call it off, she found a new way to bully me, even when I asked to be friends. Then Nyao had enough... She stood up for me... Things went out of control, stuff happened, and Nyao... scared her away. "
This could very well be the closest Katsura had ever come to apologize to Liliana for the events, maybe Nyao was right. For Katsura this was just as much about making up for her past mistakes than stopping Alexander perhaps more, time will show if Hackmon and Zubamon can figure out Nyao's clue, who is Rossau anyway? In the end Katsura considered Alexis a byproduct of her rather than the plot of Alexander. Speaking of whom, Nyao was meanwhile in the middle of another conversation.
At first Nyao just pointed at her fur with her tail.
"That's blackgatomon to you sir, no ring dark fur. I already told you Katsura's motivation. If it makes her happy I gladly go along with any plan she got." Nyao suddenly feeling offended about being called a regular gatomon was her way of mocking Zubamon's hairsplitting about what to call her. What's next? Human the human?

The only reason he called Digimon their names is simple, it wasn't the same as calling human the human, the simple fact is that being Digimon, where the race, and had their real names after that. Alexis remembered that day as the most humiliating one she has had. Most of all that damn cat was going to pay, she just needed to think how then go after Katsura. Friends, Alexis never wished to call anyone that, because in the end everyone wish to use you, and put a knife in your back.
She needed a way to say it, but without them thinking it was her. "Oh, I see, she doesn't sound nice at all, but she sounds like one of the types that can't trust people, so she hates them. People have hard lives and people change so they don't get hurt, it's good I didn't have anything wrong happen to me, or I could have ended up like her, maybe not going as far wishing to make people my slaves, but something may be close."
It was no doubt if them things happen to Alexis she would become her old self again, that was just in her makeup. Zubamon would laugh. "Black Gatomon if that is what you wish to be called, but I will not call you a pet name. Helping someone is not following orders, look at Alexis now, if she stayed like her old self she might be in worse shape. If you keep going into dangerous places because of your master, she could die, and trying to sneak around places you shouldn't be is the same, someone will be forced to react, but I don't wish for a battle with you if I don't need to, so it's best if you stay to yourself." He said looking her down. "Alexis, you would never become like that, isn't that right Katsura?" He said having a smile only Katsura could see, one of overconfidence.

Now that the cat was out of the bag, Katsura had found a way for her to talk the things through with Liliana. Something that Katsura found overdue considering everything they both have been through since that day. Knowing that now was also the time to "install" a more positive point of view within this Alexis. Katsura listened in on the things Alexis said, concluding that something had destroyed Alexis's trust in others and turned her bitter. Considering the distance Alexis took from Liliana's character, the memories most damaged by the mindwipe had to be them, no wonder Alexis was such a sugar bell.
"I know right? With people like her around it's hard to trust anyone. It's very ironic too, to think that a girl who had such a hard life and trust issues would go around bullying others and destroy their faith in the world like her was. If only I was there while she still was nice, I could have spared her trust. Now she's dead. At least Willis and SkullGreymon turned out alright."
The claim that the girl in dark was dead probably shouldn't be taken literally but at least that's one metaphorical way to put the erasure of Liliana from Alexis' consciousness. Wait who is Willis? That's someone Katsura had not told Alexis about before. Katsura dodged the eye contact with Alexander due to a combination of guilt and shame, not answering his question.
Zubamon's rant has little impact on Nyao for several reasons such as her being able to achieve mega, and well:
"Well to quote Katsura, right now it's Liliana, next time it's someone innocent who bothers him? Katsura is not keen on people erasing memories."

Alexis could remember the day she stopped trusting the world, but she didn't wish to in slave people, in all that was wrong, and crazy, but she only got that thought when entering a dark and odd world like the Digital one, if she never knew about it then she wouldn't try to do something so crazy, she even stopped thinking for a moment. She heard what Katsura said just now, a for a moment, looked a little sad. "Well, I'm also sure the idea of a new world made her do things that wouldn't be done in this one." She would think for a moment, she should stop thinking about it and stop acting like it bothered her so much. She smiled, acting all happy again. "Oh, I mean, it is just that the world is crazy and has no rules and can make you feel freer, it was still wrong of her, but, the earth stopped a spoiled brat like her, this new one didn't." Her eyes were closed smiling, was the only thought done she just really call herself a spoiled brat?
"Oh, who are SkullGreymon and Willis? Are they other tamers?" She said looking at Katsura with a smile. The Digimon was still speaking to each other. "Maybe, but do you really wish for that one person to be Katsura? I don't wish to challenge you, but only if you don't get in my way. That sounds only fair, right?" Zubamon said with a smile. Alexander would smile thinking it was time for him to leave for a little while. "I will be right back." He left not saying another word.

Indeed, Katsura has done several things since becoming a tamer and only a fraction would have been possible had it not been for the digital world. She remembered how she had overthrown an evil lord, saved the forest from a rampaging duo of abused digimon and helping several new tamers getting a nice start, of course she also remembers a kind friendly bear and a smart rat. Even Cion a musician digimon. However she also remembers causing a lot of collateral damage, several disappointments when people refused to change their way from violence. Katsura had even tried being the voice of reason for crazy digimon and tamers, who doesn't remember the kleptomanic blackrenamon obsessed with shiny things and experiments? So many people and digimon alike have left an impression on Katsura.
"Of course, the digital world is a special place to me, you could say it's my 'happy place'. Every digimon are nice or wants to do the right thing, and some humans too."
Katsura noticed that Alexis looked sad for a moment, maybe there was still hope for her to befriend Liliana? At least Alexis was able to sorta tell good from bad.
"Hmm?"
Then Katsura realized that Alexis had just called her character that was not so loosely based on Liliana a spoiled brat. Could it be? Did Alexis feel remorse? Maybe she was just reading too much into it but the hope it seeded in her made it worthwhile. Now was her chance, since Alexis was curious about Willis and SkullGreymon.
"They're digimon, brothers in fact. They were bullied a lot by a Phelesmon. When he didn't directly torment them, he forced them to do crimes for him and hurt their own family. One day Willis, a tsukaimon and his brother found a source for enormous power. So much power that his brother became a SkullGreymon, now what did they do with such power? They went on rampage through the forest, tried to burn it to the ground and killing too many innocent digimon for me to count. Nyao and I had to stop them to save everyone and in the end Nyao took that power for herself as safekeeping. Alexis, deep down you know Nyao's true power, when Willis looked her in the eyes he saw a Phelesmon and attacked her. The only thing Willis truly needed to stop was a hug."
Katsura stared at Alexis, how she would react and relate to this story meant the world to her. To Katsura there really wasn't any point in vengeance as it will invariably hurt others and make Katsura feel nothing at all. On a side note Katsura inadvertently revealed that Nyao is even more powerful than last time Lucemon fought her.
Katsura sighed when Alexander thought it was time to leave for a moment, at least now she knew more about what was going on. It would also give her time alone with Alexis.
Meanwhile Nyao was busy having a conversation.
"Well it would be a shame to ruin this lovely atmosphere."

Alexis felt like losing it, because first she was being controlled by that fool, and now had to call herself a spoiled brat. All Digimon our nice and wishing to do good things? That is nothing but a lie. Digimon the same as humans wishing, for their desires. Your desire can be to help people because they will like you, or wishing to enter a new world or have everyone kneeling down to your greatness. "Oh, I see. But I see humans and Digimon being the same in many ways, we don't breathe fire, but events that happen in our lives can change us."
Alexis needed to be careful, when in her good happy, and caring mood, would she call someone a spoiled brat? By saying that she did show a little fight back. She would hear Nyao having more power that was just unfair, it was getting harder, to take her down. But one thing was odd that Katsura just said, how would she know her true power? "How would I know Nyao's true power? I have never seen her digivolve?" Well, she has, but she wasn't met to know that. "I think all he needed as well was a hug." She really didn't like saying that. The Digimon was still speaking with each other.
"That's right, if you get in my way it's a chance that you will be fine, but your tamer, not so much, humans are weak, in fact, that it takes not even 1% of our power to hurt them, just us battling could harm a human in this world." He said thinking they had a deal. Hackmon would speak much like Alexis would, he was not one to take orders. "You're annoying, and I do mean both of you." Zubamon looked a little mad. "You dare say that to me, you don't even have a tamer." Hackmon would just laugh.
"I do have a tamer, she might be all good and takes orders now, but please think about her personality, she will come back it is a matter of time, and because of all the events that happen, she might be smarter about her plans. All I have to do is wait." He said acting like she would come back, making it out she wasn't but would be in time.

Alexis's argument went completely over Katsura's head as it required a certain cynical view on not only digimon but life as a whole. Something Katsura lacked when it comes to the digital world, still she answered what she (most likely wrongly) assumed Alexis meant.
"That's right Alexis, I was once told that tamer is an offensive term because it implies digimon are mere beasts, slaves or something like that. They're not like that at all. You take care of them when they're little nurture them, protect them teach them how to fend for themselves. When they get older and bigger they become your friend, you teach them but now they teach you too. Before you know it, you're the one they want to protect above anything... Just like I would for Nyao. You're right, we're the same. Our heart is the same, our fears our joys almost anything the only thing we can't do is breath fire. And yes we do change with them, I would never have found my courage if it wasn't for Nyao."
Maybe now Alexis would finally understand how Katsura felt about digimon and why harming them was almost physically painful to Katsura, the girl who sincerely believes that the heart of digimon beats the same as a human. Didn't Katsura's view sound a lot like being a parent when you think about it? Katsura looked at Alexis with pity when she heard how the reference of Nyao's power was lost on her. Maybe having an outright negative memory working was too much to ask of Alexis right now considering her mental state. Katsura knew that if Liliana was here she would have figured out the nature of Nyao's eyes by now. Katsura sighed.
"Sigh never mind I just rambled about something."
Well if and when Alexis's memories returned properly, Katsura prayed that at least now Alexis knew enough of the context to counter Liliana when she rants about the "stupid cat" named Nyao. Even Lucemon found it better to send Alexis away before her rage turned into fear.
Nyao mostly just shrugged at the comment about how weak humans are. She was proud of herself for getting her double meaning smuggled through. A lot of things can "ruin" such an "atmosphere", but just as many things could compromise Katsura's self-imposed mission. As such this truce was more pragmatic than friendly, time will tell how long it will last. Actually, Nyao felt no reason to interrupt Hackmon and Zubamon for now. There was a good reason for this, having 2 enemies of Katsura getting into an argument like this means less work to Nyao. She can just sit back and wait until they either fight each other or say something she can later somehow exploit. Sadly teamwork does not seem to mean a lot in the Crimson family. Perhaps just as ironic Hackmon apparently was just like Alexis this way both were their own worst enemy and incapable of cooperation.

Alexis didn't mean it like that, it was more on the lines of being something that was in a bad way not in the good ones. But she couldn't say that being all happy, and nice, and kind, sigh life was like this now. She was rich, had power, and even a monster that could get bigger and she needed to play this act how sad, is what Alexis thought. "Yes, that is what I mean." She said with a smile, but inside was really mad at that child and her limited thought on how mean the world could really be. Alexis wasn't going to fall for that simple trick did Katsura really hope that she was stupid or something? The Alexis she got to know the first time was someone who thought of a world without any rules a when a little too far without thinking about how it could bite her. But now she was going to think.
The Digimon would still be fighting among each other, as Hackmon finally walked away. "We better see our Tamers, Nyao." He was tired of going back and forward with the same thing being said over and over.

A lot of things went through Katsura's head as the extent of her damages hit her. Even if she somehow got even with whoever erased Alexis' memories, she had no idea how to bring Alexis' mind back. She even worried about if anyone would appreciate it, even Alexis herself looked happy. But why won't the guilt go away? Knowing that everyone else had a better life at the expense of Alexis still felt wrong.
"So it looks like life is finally working out for you."
There was a lot of sorrow under the surface of this apparent compliment, she wanted to feel happy for Alexis so bad the question is should she really be trying to get Alexis back? Return the monster once again? And for what, to feel better about herself? Well at least she could convince herself that the power to delete memories is too dangerous in the wrong hands for anyone to posses that much her conscience would allow her. Katsura looked Alexis in the eyes praying that she would get at least something to work with, at least object to the notion that you're truly happy. If only Katsura knew how angry the surviving part of Liliana was right now.
The next thing Katsura knew was Nyao returning from her conversation with Hackmon.
Without thinking Katsura surrendered to the overwhelming power of love they have for each other. Nyao jumped onto Katsura and Katsura catched her in the air. Then while Nyao was standing on Katsura's lap she was getting hugged tightly despite being in public. It was getting quite obvious that Katsura meant what she had just said about digimon, if anything she had underestimated her own obsession with digimon.

She didn't know what to say hearing Katsura speak just now was odd, her life has turned around but has it? Alexis right now was living the life she didn't like at all being controlled and forced to be a fake goodie, good. She smiled for that second and thought of something good that could be said at this moment. "Life is wonderful, it's like I have a guardian Angel who wished to save me, and now is here on the ground looking after me." She would say walking passed leaving that hidden message.
"Even an angel can fall down towards the ground, then see that in the end, they were only human, with seeing the world in full view again." She said that walking passed Katsura, Alexis for a second last her focus as she would smile, acting clueless. "I mean....." She had to think of a story. "Oh, I'm sorry I have a paper do on, Icarus..He was a man that had wings made from Wax but burned up, being to close to the sun." Alexis would say hoping that lie would work.
Hackmon walked over, looking at Alexis, as she said to him. "Aww did you have a good talk?" Hackmon was going to hit her again like he did before, but her eye's turned sharp, but nobody but him could see them, as he looked scared turning his back arms closed. "Yes we did, it's not like it's up to you where I go." Alexis stood there smiling her eyes becoming more friendly allowing all to see them.

Katsura wasn't sure what to make of Alexis' answer but her heart chose to interpret it as if Alexis was happy about having someone who looked after her. Katsura made a sigh of relief, she then turned her attention back to Nyao. Joining in with Alexis about the talk.
"I'm so glad you're..."
"Alexander has a..."
Katsura nodded unsurprised then made a serious facial expression.
"She's nnhn"
"I know, it's true."
Katsura made another sigh, who would bother with code language when you understand each other to the point of being able to fill the blank just by staring? Neither Katsura or Nyao apparently. With one exchange of looks they already seemed reasonable synchronized regarding the recent events, it sure helped that both of them had found out about Alexis' mental state their own ways, leaving less necessary to elaborate on once they had found each other's approval. Now is the question whether Hackmon is as capable of delivering a message. Katsura took a curious glance at Hackmon to find out only to hear him arrogantly telling Alexis off about how his whereabouts is not her business. Katsura rolled her eyes at how this interaction went. One thing was certain, those two deserved each other. It wasn't helping that Hackmon acted all defiant and yet ended up being nice anyway. It made Alexis' friendly smile fall flat but Katsura returned it nevertheless. It didn't matter that Katsura didn't notice Alexis' eyes when everything else around her told an entirely different story

Alexis couldn't follow anything they were speaking about right now, it was like half a sentence and then stopped, being like code talking or something. Alexis was just confused by it. "I'm sorry I need to go soon, I have homework that needs finishing I hope it's okay?" Alexis would say facing Katsura trying to end there little talk. She needed to go back into that digital world, and on her own with Hackmon, to have fun that was stopped last time.

((Making my exit now that I have something different to post))
Timothy was certain they got all available information now. He waited while everyone was looking towards Katsura and waving her goodbye to make his move. He left his current position and crossed the opening, with the timing, hopefully only Katsura would even notice him crossing. He slowly made his way back to the restroom where the portal Katsura opened was, once he was there, he spotted Bibi and Faluo both having successfully made their way there as well.
Faluo's route was rather easy, go back the way he came in the vents, hide his evidence, then wait for the others. He had absolutely no difficulty getting out of there, given the lack of maids, which was still unusual to them all.
Bibi's route was a little harder, but she made due. It just took her taking a longer route around the dining room to get back out safely. She eventually got to the restroom they came in though, being last.
Once they were all regrouped, the trio moved into the restroom, locked the door and went through the portal. From the other end of that portal, they would wait for Katsura and Nyao to rendezvous with them so they can converse in a secure location. When did he start sounding all military? He was getting too into this spy thing.
