Yeah, you know what, I'm the whiner type, and I'm not amused where the direction is going. So the Yuukz will pour his heart out in making what I (personally) think how the tri should go.

SAIKAI (REUNION)
Chapter 1
Normal Life of the Chosen
It's now 06:00, a bit too early for Japanese students to be up... A certain blond haired boy sat in front of his computer. One or two basketball related poster decorating his room. Various novels arranged neatly on his study desk based on interest. Fantasy, biography, science fiction, and many more... but they're not important to the boy at the moment. His eyes still focused on the screen that showed a very familiar interface. Unfortunately, on the place where the screen should show scenery of that world is instead filled with red.
The teen was about to resign himself, but hey, that doesn't fit his crest would it? He took out a small device from his pocket, then aimed it at the computer screen. Nothing happened. even if he awaited for two minutes now, there are no sign of the gate opening at all.
"Takeru! It's almost the time for your basketball club training honey!" he heard his mother shouted from the kitchen
"I'LL BE THERE!" the teen replied. He took his green colored jacket. Momentarily, he looked at the photo of his crew, both new and old.
"...I'll be doing my best today too..." he directed his smile at a certain yellow Digimon "...Patamon."
It's been three years since we defeated Belial Vamdemon and Oikawa sacrificed himself. To prevent the Digital World from getting contaminated further, the gate is now closed indefinitely. It might be also because we're no longer needed to fight... we're chosen because we're destined to fight for Digital World's peace after all... That's why, while holding back my tears, I said my tearful goodbye to my important partner, Patamon...
Even until now, I still wanted to meet him, of course... but as expected, not even D-3 could open the gate to Digital World at all. Every day, at least once, I always tried to do the same action, hoping the gate would magically open... but I guess just hoping wouldn't be enough.
I'm not as smart as Koushiro-san, so I can't say that it's something that I, a normal 2nd year middle school student, can do alone. If he's unable to open the Digital World gate, then what I can do? That's why I'm just doing this purely by the most basic action. Trying to open a gate, everyday, in the morning, and when I'm home from school, just to wonder if the gate would open if I do that...
...well, it's an effortless try, and no effort is too much if I can meet Patamon again...
So I'll keep doing it, no matter what.
"Takeru-kun!"
The youth is called by a girl riding bicycle. She dismounted to greet him. Takeru waved to greet his childhood friend, Yagami Hikari. The brunette is quite known in the school... and to his amusement, her brother's school too for being somewhat of an idol. The girl herself rejected every advances aimed at her, though.
"Hikari-chan, good morning... Let me guess... Taichi-san forgot his lunch again?"
"Right on mark! Today he blasted his sleep again and nearly late for the exercise. Guess this cute little sister of his just have to deliver his bento once again!"
"Said 'cute little sister' doesn't look quite upset, though. To me it almost sounds like you'e trying to blackmail him for a treat or something."
Hikari giggled. "There was this new ice cream you know? Strawberry Choco Bomber Crash seasonal Hyper Tropical Expresso! That gotta be a great treat!"
"What the heck with that longass name?" Takeru retorted, laughing at how crazy it was "plus is it that worthy to get ogled by Taichi-san's teammates? The goddess has descended they said~"
"No way, I'm not like that!" Hikari playfully tackled her friend.
"But you gotta admit, if Daisuke is here, he'll be the one who get the fussiest about it."
The mention of their missing friend's name made Hikari stopped on his track. Her expression momentarily looked solemn.
"...Ah...," noticing his blunder, Takeru looked at her guiltily.
"...Takeru-kun, have you heard anything from Iori-kun?"
"...I'm sorry... I haven't heard anything. Everytime I called him, I always led to the answering machine."
"...Me too... I tried to go to Miyako-chan's supermarket, but it's still closed. Takeru-kun, have you visited two of them directly already?"
"I have. It's... really empty..."
"I'd go to Ichijouji-kun's place, but... it's quite far isn't it?"
Melancholic mood settled between the two, but it was Hikari who broke the silence first.
"Ah, I'm sorry, Takeru-kun! I'm heading this way," she pointed at the high school. "I'll be seeing you in the class, alright? Good luck with your training!"
Takeru waved a goodbye at his friend who now once again rode her bicycle to her brother's high school.
I cannot bring it to Hikari-chan... but I do feel nervous. It's just too strange. Too out of place. Why is Iori-kun, Miyako-san, Daisuke-kun and even Ichijouji-kun did not answer to our messages at all? Could it be there is something Digital World related? But it's out of question for them to not tell us, to not call us to come with them in case it's really Digital World related.
...What should I do... Patamon?
Meanwhile, at Odaiba Senior High School. second grade student, Yagami Taichi is resting after a particularly intense practice... as usual, he had to glare at his teammates who only looked spirited after his little sister came to deliver his lunch (for the I-dunno-how-many-times it was) after once again he forgotten to bring it due to how late he was being.
"Ah right, I almost forgot... here!" Hikari took out something that Taichi sworn he preferred to left at home... his career planning sheet.
"What's that... whoa, dude, isn't that the career planning sheet!? Didn't Nishijima-sensei told you to submit it yesterday!?"
"Argh, shut up! I know it already!" Taichi took the sheet from Hikari and scrutinized the blank box. Honestly, it's not that he wanted to leave it blank... it's just that he don't feel like he feel much drive at the moment. Taichi plopped to the ground again.
"...Hey, Hikari... what do you want to be in the future?"
"Eh? Me? That was a bit sudden, Oniichan..."
"Anything is OK."
"Well, I think I want to be a teacher! I've been thinking it for a while... but after being one of the most experienced two in the new team... I felt like teaching something new and the face of excitement of the students when learning something is very fun to see!"
"...'zzat so?" Taichi muttered. "...sounds nice to have something that you have set your eyes on."
"What, you're speaking like you don't have that much aspiration. What about being pro soccer player?" Hikari suggested.
"That sounded so halfassed. Is a soccer player in elementary school, junior high school and now senior high school. I'm not aiming for pro anyway," Taichi replied. "...Anyway, great job, thanks for the bento, Hikari. What was it that you want? Choco banana---"
"Strawberry Choco Bomber Crash seasonal Hyper Tropical Expresso!" Hikari corrected in a heartbeat. Taichi starting to wonder when the heck did his sister become such an ice cream lover? Oh, she even ate ice cream on the winter, madness!
"--whatever the name was Expresso... I'll treat you, yeah..."
He headed to the locker room to change his clothes to the usual uniform. Talk about a drag though.
"...At time like this, he probably would want Takoyaki, that silly guy." Remembering his partner and the soccer ball that made that certain orange dino reminded of takoyaki made him chuckle.
