Now that Katsura was on a quest with Dante, maybe she could finally get some answers about who Dante was and why Piedmon was so obsessed with him. While following the group towards the bandit king through a long windy road, Katsura went to her keyboard in real life.
/whois XGoldxFoX99
Katsura just typed, she wasn't sure if anything would show up. Still she hoped that her armature level doxxing would give her at least something.
Back to the game, the travel went uneventful as XXXbloodyrists666XXX entered the mountains, Katsura had turn on auto-follow to make sure that XXXbloodyrists666XXX was following after Dante without her having to give input. Katsura saw a lot of guards running around patrolling. Katsura hasn't played enough of such games to understand why standing guard is wrong unless you're a npc, in fact. "Umm what's a npc?"
Katsura looked over to the nearby group, well since they are searching for bandits then it might as well be over there they were supposed to be. Since her character still followed after Dante, XXXbloodyrists666XXX was next to him when he spoke to the Rouge of the party.
Katsura could only watch as Dante went into an argument with the rival group. If this was a single player experience, Katsura would most likely be the type to just spam "Skip" until something required her input. And lo and behold, the argument escalated into an all out fight and Katsura was caught just in it when a giant barbarian stood before her stomping the ground.
Now Katsura regretted her build as that single shockwave reduced her HP to a tiny splinter and that's was largely thanks to a defense buff provided by Shiro.
But it did give Katsura an idea: After drinking a healing portion that maxed up her hp, it wasn't a lot of hp after all. Katsura started adding several buffs;
In Katsura's head: (Okay if I'm that weak, surely she is no better either. Hmm anti-resistance... Check. Max up magic damage... check. Max-stun chance... Check. Force-field... Check... Strongest thunder... Check) - In the game XXXbloodyrists666XXX was standing idle for a short while because Katsura was powering up. XXXbloodyrists666XXX then gained a bubble around her, lowering damage to a minimum while ironically only powered her defense up on pair with everyone else around her, taking her low hp pool in account.
Then she pointed at the healer and her mana pool plummeted out of nowhere. There was a short waiting time then, had Katsura been caught by a bug?
Then despite being a cloudless sunny day, a lightning felled from the sky, it ignored trees and everything tall electricity normally would go for. Instead it went straight for the healer's current position and would at least cause a large charred sphere where it was about to strike.

Eghaa simply followed behind everyone, having not figured out there was an auto-follow function he almost got lost at least three times due to most of the time he got distracted by shiny things in the distance just to notice people were walking ahead of him, for a moment or two he thought this might instead be a walking simulator then a punch things in the head simulator but eventually they managed to reach where they were going, someplace in the mountains that a whole lot of other players were just standing around not doing anything, while it wasn't his place to judge werent there more important things to be doing than standing around in a video game not doing anything? Like standing in real life not doing anything. the same expect one you get more sun.
Then went this quite large conversation with the word noob being passed around a lot, while Eghaa couldn't really deny the fact he had no idea what was going on he did feel like they made their point when they said it the first time. And now they were fighting, Eghaa held his staff up in front of his face as someone fired something directly at him, managing to barely block the thing getting at least a bit of damage from it but nothing life-threatening. He now regretted picking a class with magic but needing to get closer in order to actually deal damage to something.
When the barbarian came closer to stomp on the ground He had to think fast, activating his only movement based skill a short ranged but invincible teleport he managed to avoid getting knocked on his arse. The teleport did leave him near the rouge that had hit his allies so thinking fast since he was close enough, and the bandit was stunned attempted to bash him with a weak skill but high knockback hopefully off a cliff or something, or at least far enough away that someone could do something, hopefully not Eghaa cause he had no idea what to really do to help.

Bibi watched the three skeletons approach her and shouted out, "You who have attacked me with acts of necromancy! Prepare to be exterminated from the face of the Earth!" He then started blasted the skeletons with holy fire, erupting them in flames. Once they fell, she'd press her attack by charging the healer with her massive sword. No one expects the Bird Inquisition, it also helped with the massive lightning bolt coming down on her.
Faluo mumbled something about how he absolutely hates gankers, then he fired off the flare towards the sky. Making him the priority target and taunting every other person. Now everyone around him was only taking thirty-three percent damage, making any other target effectively useless. Next, he deployed a personal shield to help him resist as much damage as possible. After that, he activated a few self heals to make him also restore a little health over time, making the healer's job a little easier.
Timothy hung back for a second to get an idea of what he was up against. These people clearly were some lame gankers. Still in the low level areas. They probably wouldn't expect to have a bunch of actual players, namely ones who do raids for fun or well geared. Everyone seemed to be preoccupied with each other. He blinked through the battlefield up to until her was right next to the Barbarian that was currently trying to pound his massacre-loving teammate. The second he appeared, his revolver was already right at the Barbarian's head. "Alright buddy, so this right here is The Scythe, it is a revolver that says I can one-shot just about anyone in PvP unless they're in the best gear around. I spent literal weeks finding this thing and am now pointing it right at your head. If you wanna live, join us in defeating your stupid party, or well... I'll just pull the trigger, and you'll find out why I'm called MetalMagic." The threat wasn't entirely true. The pistol was in fact powerful, though it'd take a good two or three shots with the buffs he was casually putting on while speaking. If he agreed, well, hey, that's another teammate to solve this problem with. If he didn't... Well, to put simply... BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM, just gonna keep shooting, maybe toss a fireball at him in the process. It's not like a Barbarian will be too magic defensive.
The Trio has been playing this game for waaaay too long...

The bandit players had dealt out quite a bit of damage, but they ended up getting more than they bargained for, attacking the group of alleged noobs. Katsura had healed up after the barbarian's shockwave, and somehow summoned a lightning bolt towards the enemy healer. With one blast, the healer's health was taken down to 1%, only surviving by the skin of his teeth due to an armor effect. Eghaa had taken damage from the hunter's attack, but managed to dodge the shockwave. He then took advantage of the rogue being stunned, landing a critical hit.
Timothy and the birds didn't take long to spring into action. Faluo fires off a flare, drawing agro from the group. After taking down the skeletons, the Bird Inquisition finished off the obxious healer. Their health reaches zero and they keel over dead. If they had been a newer player, they could of resurrected with little drawback, but a player death at that level would often cost xp, or in game items purchased with real money. Timothy draws a weapon he claims to be able to one hit kill other players in PVP. A bold claim. With their healer already down, it didn't make much sense to continue when they were outnumbered.
The barbarian is the first to step down. "Alright, that's enough. You've proven yourselves." The rogue struggles to get up from Eghaa's attack, stumbling around until he can heal himself with some bandages he created with the First Aid skill. He goes over to the downed Healer and resurrects him. "Thanks a lot, idiots! I just lost over 4,000 xp!" Dante interjects. "What are you talking about? You assholes started this!" "Whatever. Let's ditch these losers." "You only won because there's like, 20 of you." The rogue, healer, and hunter run off towards the base. They activate special fire lizard mounts that they paid real life money for.
The barbarian remains to talk with the group. "Sorry about that. You know how the online community is. To answer your questions, players come here and form bandit clans. It's really the only way to get a good team for raids. It's a very cutthroat, toxic environment. And it's all overseen by the Bandit King." "So, you're sort of like guilds, but why so many of you?" "And what's the deal with you morons standing around doing nothing?" "Think of it like several small guilds all cooperating together. Loot distribution is all controlled. Most players hang out here trying to buy and sell gear and supplies. But everything is overpriced. You mentioned something about a rival bandit clan? Many players who have been kicked out of our clans have tried to take down the system. It doesn't surprise me players would form their own renegade clan."
Well, this changes everything. Here they were to speak with the Bandit King about these attacks, but Soulja Boi was now in charge of a giant guild of hardcore players. "Well, I came here on behalf of a young Elven woman, who was attacked by a rogue clan of bandits. But maybe we should try to get into one of these clans, and start completing some raids." "Dante, I bet Soulja Boi will give us all kinds of great armor. He's probably grateful for us helping him become the Bandit King." "Then I guess we go and talk to him. What do you guys think?" "I want to help the Elf, but bandits, raids, I'd rather get back to farming, and leveling up my skills." "Dante and I can go meet Soulja." "Oh no, if there's going to be raid armor involved, I'm going with." "Alright. I'm going to do some side quests. Maybe learn some new songs." "There's some NPC merchants inside. You might be able to find better supplies for crafting. I'll lead you guys there." The barbarian starts heading up the mountain path. This was a good chance to stock up on food and potions. Maybe buy some better gear that isn't available at the starting area. Would the Bandit King be glad to see his old friends?

Katsura coldly stared at the healer getting blasted to bits by the thunderbolt. Katsura sighed, unfortunately for her she left her mic on at this moment. "Sigh killing makes me feel nothing." In Katsura's defense this was fiction nothing of this was real and for all Katsura cared a stranger boy somewhere in the world was currently yelling at his screen about losing 4000 xp to bring said healer back. It's very unlikely Katsura would have said such a thing if this wasn't literally just a game to her. Still it probably won't help her online reputation to say those things out loud.
Stil to shut both Dante and the revived healer up, Katsura gifted the healer one of her many "Basic level 0 dagger" items that still used the same sprite as the rarest weapon in the game. That will shut him up Katsura thought indifferent to likelihood that the healer finding out it was a scam. Katsura watched them leaving on fire mounts and made a mental note to scam one into giving her one. "Nyao can you hold the line?" And then Katsura left her chair for food leaving Nyao in control of their shared account.
Aside from using the attack button earlier, Nyao lacked the qualifications to wield XXXbloodyrists666XXX and preferred messing around. As result XXXbloodyrists666XXX was waving and literally jumping around the place to the amusement of Nyao. It was then that she got curious about this voice from MetalMagic how familiar it sounded when he was bluffing and she couldn't resist commenting. "Timothy is that you? Hiiii!" Katsura probably won't appreciate Nyao's actions in her name. Katsura would probably prefer to hear about this system with bandits making clans. Speaking of which, Katsura just returned with a plate of sausage octopi.
"I'm back, did I miss anything? " Katsura was back just in time to hear the plan meeting, this discussion was easy for her after getting back in the game. "I think we should help the elvish girl, or is it just me? Sorry if my friend has been messing too much."
XXXbloodyrists666XXX was meanwhile running around collecting mana potions.

Eghaa couldn't help but give quite the sigh of relief as they decided to leave, though he did end up biting his tongue when the rouge made mention of their numbers, it wasn't even close to that number, plus he just got knocked down by a guy in the new armor, he pretty much lost his whole argument there. Still, the group he decided to go with seemed, if he was honest pretty scary at times, was he getting in over his head? Cause if he was honest that's exactly how this felt right about now but hey it was just a game, nothing really that bad could happen to him right?
He heard what the plan of action was but didn't exactly agree with that idea, after all, they did say they would do the quest thing and take care of it. Still, the bloodyrist seemed to echo Eghaa's thoughts exactly. But he just gave a shrug emote, after all, he really didn't have much of a stake in this as the group he did had, so at the end of the day, it should be them making decisions anyway. Plus he got to not talk which was always a bonus. Added with the fact that he was the lowest level in the group, he didn't think he should be trying to tell these people what to do
Though the idea of NPC Merchants did make Eghaa look at his clothes for a moment, he was still wearing the basic of the basics, though for his level this was probably still for the best. Added with the fact he had pretty much no real scratch on him. Real life or otherwise he decided that sticking with the basic gear with the potions he had was probably for the best, I mean he could still get killed without any backlash so might as well ride that until the high ends.

Once the really shoddy gankers were gone, Timothy smiled, "This game has slowly gotten more and more annoying with every day and players like that running around." He let out a sigh, then found a tree to lean against while waiting for everyone to finish up.
Timothy looked over to XXXbloodyrists666XXX in shock. He recognized that voice pretty easily, but decided to send a whisper instead, "Uhh yeah, this is an online game though so don't use my real name, don't want it getting out online if it doesn't have to."
The trip listened to the plan and it's disagreements, and Faluo almost instantly came up with a compromise. "Why don't we do all three. BirdInquisition and protect LayDLuvCoff33 while she does her crafting and bard training, MetalMagic can help with helping Elf lady, and I can help with getting the raid gear. We have a large enough party to multitask like this." Hopefully everyone could get behind that.

After the brief fight with those elitist wannabes, the group takes some time to explore the base inside. XXXbloodyrists666XXX gave the healer a deceptive item for his troubles. Only later does he realize it is next to worthless besides its icon. Timothy was smart to keep his identity separate from the game. Who knows what kinds of creeps play video games online? Eghaa stuck out like a productive member of society at a convention. The other players were stacked with raid gear and enchanted items. He got more than a few dirty looks from some of the snobbish players.
Judith buys some supplies for crafting, even finding a vendor with more songs to learn. Dante gets a few pieces of better gear, but nothing was close to the strength as what most of the bandits are wearing. He would have to grind for many days and nights, just to have a passable build. Such is the bane of MMOs. The barbarian walks up to Dante and Shirou to let them know that the Bandit King is ready to see them now. Some members of the group go with to speak with the king. Inside with all the vendors, one of the bandits activates a cute furry little kitty pet, that costs $14 in the online store. "Aww, look at the wittle kitty! It's so cute!"
While Judith is distracted by the cat, Dante, Shirou, and Wormmon, I mean Gold Fox, Pervy Wolf and Jiggly, enter the king's chambers. The throne room is lit up by several torches, and there is an overwhelming stench of death in the air. Dante sees Soulja Boi sitting on a throne made of gold, jewelry, and the skulls of his enemies. "Hey! Soulja Boi! Wow, you really know how to run a bandit horde." "Wait a second, you two are on my friends list. Oh hey! It's been forever! Glad to see you back." "We came here because we heard of a rival gang of bandits, but I had no idea how much things have changed." "Yes, I have done much since becoming the Bandit King. And I owe it all to you guys for helping me. Please, help yourselves to my armory. The good stuff is character locked, so I can't give you raid gear." "Damn."
Dante and Soulja Boi catch up with each other. The Bandit King explains how his faction has grown into a full out legion of MLG players. "This rival bandit clan you speak of, I am very familiar with them. Several of our former members have defected because they couldn't follow the rules. Most of them couldn't wait their turn for raid armor. They call themselves the Try Hards." "Well then, it sounds like we can scratch each other's backs. You give us what gear you can, and we'll take care of the Try Hards." "What makes you think that you can handle them? Some of our best players have been bested by them. They will not be easy to deal with." "Do you know where there base is located?" "The only thing I know is where they are not, and that is everywhere. We've checked every area in the game, and still cannot find them." Dante turns to Wormmon, then looks over at Shirou.
"Shirou, is it possible they are hiding out in some uncompleted area of the game?" "It's possible. There are a few areas that did not get finished in time, or had issues in the beta. Normal players cannot access these areas, but it is possible through glitching." "What about that cave underneath the lava?" "That's what I was thinking. If the Try Hards are as good as they think they are, they probably know how to reach that area." "But, that place was blocked off because the boss fights were too difficult." "We got there last time, without even trying. I bet we can get back there." "You still don't know if that's where they are at." "It won't hurt to try." "Yes it will. LA-VA! Fire burns." "Discuss it over with your group. I can have a portal opened up to take you close by." "Do you even remember how you glitched through the map last time?" "Ya, we've just got to destroy the ground that's in our way." "Unless new management already patched it." "You know, I'm hearing a lot of criticism from you, but not any solutions." "I designed this game! And to see my precious creation, my flawless MMO to have fallen so far, it burns my soul. It might as well be just another cash grab! I'm going to climb my way back to the top, and that will never happen as long as you keep making bone-headed decisions based on impulse!"
Dante and Shirou have a stare down. They are close to exchanging blows. The Bandit King gets their attention. "Ahem! Don't take my generosity for granted. I have decided to help you because you helped me, but I'm not going to carry you, or put up with your drama." "You've changed, Soulja Boi." "You know what they say about absolute power." "Well you would know." The gang helps themselves to Soulja Boi's personal armory. Shirou picks out an amulet that buys him a few more seconds when his health reaches 10% or below, to avoid being KO'd so easily. An enchanted orange colored blade catches Dante's eye. It grants him bonus fire damage. After playing with the kitty, Judith finds herself an improved lute, and Wormmon finds some very sexy black mage robes. "Does this make my breasts look big enough?" "For Goddess's sake, Jiggly, we can see your underboob." "Hey, it's the stats that matter most, and this outfit has great stats." "Why would programmers make decent gear that is so revealing?" Gold Fox and Lady Luv Coffee look at Pervy Wolf. "What?" The group decides whether to check out the lava area or not, then gets ready to go.

Katsura took a moment to absorb what Nyao had just caused, it was one thing to play this game with complete strangers but it was a significantly different thing knowing that Timothy and his birds were playing along. "Oh umm sure, and about before. My cat stepped on my keyboard." An absurd lie for people outside Katsura's social circle but perhaps Timothy would get the metaphor that the genocidal sociopath from earlier was, in fact Nyao being a complete troll on the internet using a shared account. It's not like Katsura was stupid enough to reveal the existence of digimon on an online game with no control over who heard it.
It was apparent that Katsura used this game as a tool to stalk Dante but that didn't mean she didn't have time to do other things inside the game, while Judith bought supplies for crafting, so did XXXbloodyrists666XXX. Katsura was no longer satisfied with just harnessing fire, a part of her subconscious mind got her to spend her fortune on an alluring purple crystal filled with dark magic, this was totally not influenced by her adventures in the digital world. Despite Nyao wanting Katsura to stop to see the cute kitty, Katsura was undeterred in her pursuit of Dante. Following him all the way to the bandit king. She listened in on the conversation while looking at this impressive throne.
"Umm. How can someone disappear in this game?" The answer turned out to be extremely technical for someone who has only played in a month. Something about beta and glitches? "Umm, ehh... What?!" Katsura's brain was fried, nothing of this made sense to her. She really hoped someone could dumb it down to her. While Dante and Shiro had a staring contest, Katsura aka XXXbloodyrists666XXX helped herself in the armory where she found an enchanted staff where her purple crystal clicked in place. An animation similar to level up appeared on XXXbloodyrists666XXX who had just settled on an advanced class. XXXbloodyrists666XXX could no longer wield fire, her robes turned dark and edgy. XXXbloodyrists666XXX was now a dark sorcerer

So a throne made of gold and some skulls, if that wasn't a clear indication of the path he chose in this game to follow these weirdos then nothing else would, still it was kind to offer them the stuff in the armory, even if the stuff wouldn't be for the best and he couldn't really get a good pick considering his level. Just like with that bloody character Eghaa was at a near complete loss to what they were exactly talking about until they started talking about how to get there in the first place, while not an avid gamer he has run into glitches like that more than once in simple console games, though patching was a thing would they even bother to patch something that trivial? And considering they apparently had the actual designer on their squad perhaps not.
"It's not really a boneheaded decision of they've been there, besides it's worth a look if only a quick one." Eghaa points out, after all, worse case scenario they attack the floor and nothing happens. There didn't seem to be any downside to at least going and checking real quick. All and all he just wanted to get going somewhere, plus a lava area sounded pretty cool in his opinion, even if he couldn't ya'know do anything to help out there. Though the offer on the armory was probably still valid so Eghaa took this chance to get something good for himself, even if most of the stuff was way out of his level range he managed to find a better staff and a hood for defense, neither had any good perks to them but the hood looked cool so as always style over function.
Though the new hood was instantly overshadowed by a sudden character change, eh not like he could have competed before that happened.
