Thankfully for Goblimon, he had been pulled out of the way of Stingmon's attack by Yuuki and Hikaru. Unfortunately for Goblimon, the resulting ride was quite bumpy. Each second spent being dragged behind Canisdramon was another clumsy bump against the floor, Goblimon letting out a pained noise for each. "Oi! That! Hurts!" he griped with each bounce, even if it was clearly the preferable alternative to taking the attack head on. Nevertheless, it seemed like now the team was on the back foot. Only Hikaru and the Ogrelords were remaining, and while the Ogrelords were rather amazing the deck was stacked quite heavily against them.
Soon, Ogremon got the message and pulled himself onto Canisdramon's back. He squatted to brace himself, looking as close towards the tower as possible. "You tried to break the rock, yeah? Well, if we can't have it, nobody can!" he decided, striking up a fireball with the end of his club. Once it was made, he hurled it up and smashed it right at the Control Spire. Would it even really do much?
SnowGoblimon and Shamamon, on the other hand, found themselves very bummed by Amelie not wanting to play their little game anymore. Their grins, which swelled up when the Batter Up exchange began, fell to pieces when the boulder was unceremoniously knocked away. "Spoilsport," SnowGoblimon rumbled, turning to try and see what the boss was up to.
Apparently, being dragged around by a dog-dragon while being chased by an angry fly. The Ogrelord's commander was also leading an attack on the Control Spire, firing a blast of energy at it when nobody else could. "Oi, we doing anything?" Shamamon asked as he watched the fireball sail. "The boss might need a helper hand now."
"Well, you know what to do!" SnowGoblimon let out a war cry, striking the ground with his frozen club.
Absolutely nothing happened.
Shamamon tried the same, but nothing happened either. Then they tried generating orbs of power with their hands, but nothing happened. They tried bashing their clubs against each others', but it was just making hollow wooden noises. Nothing was even close to capable of setting up for another Batter Up. They sighed in consternation, wondering what the heck Amelie's flash of light did to them.
So, what did that leave for them? Well, there was a terrifying looking Stingmon, and two presences they could barely keep track of shifting through the trees. Neither Shamamon or SnowGoblimon could properly attack, at least without getting into melee range of these threats. What else could they do but run and hide, diving for the nearest bush? There was no time for bluster in this condition!
Goblimon uses Batter Up on the Control Spire. (Gobli Pose: Muscle cooldown 1/2) SnowGoblimon is incredibly confused and wastes his time, then hides in a panic. (Gobli Pose: Grace cooldown 1/2) As is Shamamon. (Gobli Pose: Heavy duration 1/2)

My, this had gone all too well, hadn't it? The Sangloupmon could only give a chuckle from the corner of her fangs, as Hikaru and Yuuki made their way out into the trees. It's not like they could run out there forever... after all, the tower was here. His possessed allies were here. The Wisemon was here. And eventually, he'd have to come out from the fringe, back to the center, to try and do something.
If anything, all he was doing was giving them more time to make rings. As for K's first question, all she got was silence, like there was no need to answer. And the second?
i AM yOu.
Well, the Wormmon's voice wouldn't break through to the screen - if anything, the garbled words spoken by the monitor started to display themselves as a sketchy white on the increasingly garbled screen. It seemed to pay no heed in efforts to explain itself, like it couldn't even hear the inhabitants of the mind at all...
... Or maybe it was just toying with him. The Lillithmon's own words, teasing that power was all that mattered, made the voice behind the screen cackle:
Have you even once been in control?
The Goblimon's reaction to the Shiftermon - try and summon their rock, and then bolt away from the rather frightening, amorphous-looking creature - was quite a natural one! Bounding into full sight in the clearing, the creature turned to face the two hiding rookies... oh, if only it kept 'Saberk' instead of trying to use such a slow, laboring attack.
Ah well, it wasn't as if they could run forever. Slowly making its approach, Amelie's voice started to echo back in its mind: delusions of grandeur, fight for real? Actually, that last thought got nothing more than a chuckle, the spirit answering in quick response:
Did you ever consider me more than a pawn?
"D... damn it..."
This? This was bad, the Mikemon-turned-Salamon barely managing to even stand on these four unsteady legs. Should the owner of the tower want to, it would have been easy to snag up the newly-made Rookie and further put the numbers against the experimental group... but what then? Just what did this sorcerer have in mind...
"Release."
Wait, what? Hadn't he already given that command? At those very words, three distinct 'snaps' filled through the clearing - and in practically a simultaneous fashion, the dark rings would fall directly from K's, Stingmon's, and Amelie's respective frames. "Mm, as curious as it might have been," the Wisemon chuckled. "Perhaps today was a little... 'too' effective." His spellbook swung open, pages already wildly flipping to look for a certain spell...
... And the Mikemon-turned-Salamon-turned-Mikemon gave a growl, and called out: "Wait!" He lunged, but not before the Wisemon vanished in a veil of purple light - completely gone from sight...
... Along with the tower! Just what had happened here?
So... yeah, quick update on this. Due to Yuuk's hiatus and the general slowness of this thread, I've decided to give it some form of closure, which will tie nicely with some future events. Sorry for the abrupt nature of the thread here - go ahead and give it one more round, ignoring post order. Thanks!

What the others did didn't so much matter to her, as she was still forced to sit there and watch what the other was doing. She could feel those thoughts as firmly as though they were her own. She'd stare solemnly through eyes both her own and not.
Silence answered her first question; it wasn't much of a surprise and the general drive that she had towards it wasn't enough to push for more. She doubted it would divulge any information for her.
But the second? It caused her to shiver, from head to toe. The way that it was said, and the way that it went all the way down to her core. She brought hands to her head and found herself frowning.
This isn't what she was, this isn't who she was meant to be. This was some perversion of herself... But at the same time, it also felt far too correct. It felt just the same way that she usually did, but there was an underlying pleasure she couldn't deny at the sheer power that she could feel.
She had to stick with doubt; doubt of this creature being her. Among other things of course.
Then as quickly as the sensation had started to set in? It was gone; along with the ring. Almost immediately K felt the energy from her body much more keenly and her senses threatened to overwhelm for a brief moment before the gentle; but perverse light of digivolution claimed her body. She was quickly replaced by her renamon form.
She looked down at her hands and then around almost like in a daze. She'd put her hand up to her head before going to take a seat near a tree. She needed a little time to bring focus back to herself before leaving. But it was probably for the best she didn't say anything to anyone for the time being.

TGoblimon watched as his desperate fireball hurtled towards the Control Spire. It was moving in closer . . . closer . . . closer! It hit! A little explosion popped off of the side of the tower, but other than that nothing happened. He huffed a little in disappointment, but promptly crooked his club back to knock out another one. If he just kept at it, he'd be able to knock this rock down. It was what it deserved for being too much of a jerk to lift! If he couldn't take it home, nobody would!
Then the tower vanished into purple light, disappearing. The Dark Rings surrounding his compatriots broke off, popping to the ground uselessly. SnowGoblimon and Shamamon, no longer being stalked through the undergrowth, popped out hesitantly from their hiding spots. All fell quiet as Goblimon looked over eerily still battlefield.
Then he lifted his club in the air, letting out something between a war shout and a laugh. "Now that's what I'm talking about!" he roared, hopping off of the Canisdramon's back to strike the pose of a lifetime. "One shot's all it takes to send it packing! Now that tower's gonna know better than to mess with the Ogrelords!" The Goblimon began stomping rhythmically, SnowGoblimon and Shamamon immediately running to his side.
"Uh, boss, I don't think it wo-" SnowGoblimon started, but Shamamon promptly cut him off.
"You're darn corrected we did it!" he said, shooting SnowGoblimon a dirty "don't ruin this" look. "Now lets go steal some stalagmites, yeah? Maybe that tower left a good chunk behind to put on our roof . . ."
"Ooh, good idea. That'll patch the hole real good, SnowGoblimon added. Unfortunately, both SnowGoblimon and Shamamon were nearly floored as Goblimon leaped onto their shoulders with the grace of a belly-flopping killer whale.
"That's the spirit!" Goblimon shouted, pointing towards where the tower once stood. "Onwards!" Sighing, the two other goblins resigned themselves towards carrying their pompous leader towards the wreckage.

Having a discussion with something that wasn't interested on that was probably as useless as it got, but... what else was left for Amelie to do? While she had mixed feelings about the whole experience, now she was pretty much set on stopping whatever was happening at the moment, more out of self-preservation than anything else.
But... it had been in vain; she hadn't gotten away from the ring's grasp due to force of will or anything of the sort. She knew that someone or something had released her, and while being "free" at least was a bit of a relief, there was also some disappointment deep-rooted within her mind.
The truth was that, she hadn't been able to control her body or exert any type of will on it. It... wasn't an overly bright prospect for the future, was it? Yet still... it gave her a lot to think about.
For now, she preferred to not recognize what had just happened, and instead opted to make her way out of the clearing, preferably before anyone asked any kind of awkward questions.
She just didn't feel like having a conversation at the moment, and probably... for quite a bit of time. [Exit]

Dante watches as the dark tower disappears from sight. The experiment was over, but was it a success? The dark rings break off, and Stingmon starts to return to normal. The little Wormmon and Lilithmon in Stingmon's subconscious watch as the room they are in starts to fade in and out. The two parts of the Worm King's personality look towards each other.
"Well, it was nice hanging out with my busty self." "Yes, well maybe you should try to be more like me, and less like your lazy self. We could be conquering territories, enslaving the masses, we could rule once again." "That would be nice, to return to my former glory. But that sounds like a lot of effort. I'd rather play video games." "Suit yourself, but remember, I will always be part of you."
Stingmon becomes completely free from the dark ring's control, and devolves down to Wormmon. Dante rushes over and picks up his Digimon partner.
"Are you alright, little buddy?" "Oh... ya, I think so." "You did it. We tested the rings. I'm glad you're back to normal." "Me too. Now can we get some chicken wings?"
While the experiment did not go as planned, they did learn some things about the rings and their effects on Digimon. Dante turns to the group and nods.
"At least we are safe now. I'm glad no one was seriously hurt."
Dante didn't know when he would see his fellow test subjects again, but he was glad to have been there for this test. Now, he is more determined than ever to find whoever is constructing the dark spires.
"I look forward to meeting again." ________________ [Exit]
