In her excitement to finish a paper so she could go to the digital world, Alexa, in all her brilliance, managed to spill hot tea all over her laptop. Sure, she could get another one, but she had precious files of an... interesting nature on there, and she wanted them extracted, though she honestly hoped the whole computer could be salvaged. She'd seen the Fix-it shop a few times during her walks around the block, and decided now would be a good time to check it out.
Data came with her too, in holo-suit form. After the gotsumon attack, he didn't take any chances with the safety of his tamer. Plus, he didn't exactly trust the humans on society hill, either. Sure it was a nice place, but the crime rates were going up. So, you know, he wanted to be on the safe side.
What he didn't expect when they arrived was to recognize something on the sign.
"Alexa. That's a digimon on the sign. Well, there are multiple. That one has an agumon, and that one has a renamon," he said, pointing them out respectively. Alexa looked them over. They definitely looked like digimon. What in the heck was a sign in the human world doing with digimon on their signs?
Alexa slowly entered the shop. The first thing she noticed was how meticulously clean it was. Like, seriously, ridiculously clean for a place that fixed up broken electronics and other things. She expected loose nuts and bolts and wires, but nope, everything had a place.
The second things she noticed was the gigantic shadowy pile of fur behind the counter. Too large to be a dog. Far too large. It looked like a cross between a wolf and a dragon with long hair, but the thing that startled Alexa the most was the fact it looked like its face was missing.
"What in the world?" Alexa wondered if it might be a piece of art or some sort of large plush, but it seemed to be breathing. Alexa looked to Data who was staring hard at the creature.
"It's a digimon. But relax. It's sleeping. Anyway, I don't think it's going to attack. Unless we make trouble. Which we won't," Data explained. Seeing another digimon relaxed him, actually. He disabled his holo-suit and resumed being a demidevimon, and then perched on Alexa's shoulder, his favorite perching spot. Alexa gulped and began to walk towards the counter, keeping an eye on the slumbering giant.
"H-h-hi. S-sorry to bother you. I need to fix m-my computer," Alexa said, shakily to the person behind the counter. She lifted her computer bag up on to the counter, trembling the entire time.

Business had been as it always had, rather slow. It wasn't a surprise, he didn't make this store to fix everyone's problems. Well. He did make it to fix those that came in, but it honestly wasn't enough most of the time. he always had to do a little more. As it sat? He was more using this to fuel his expeditions into the digital world. As few as they had been as of late.
With his joining into profit proper and his business here; mixed with his spirits he had a full schedule. It wasn't surprising and he had to admit that he enjoyed being busy. Gave him something to look forward to day in and day out.
He noticed first thing the two walking in front of his store, how could he not? He noticed everyone that passed by. Made note of those that did it too many times; he had been in trouble before and would make himself scarce if someone did so. He rose a brow when they entered, slowly.
It was a young woman, easily at the end of her highschool years along with what he'd presume to be an older brother or potentially even father. He didn't stop what he was working on, though he did make sure to keep an eye on them.
Up until they noticed shattermon, the large broken spirit whom was currently napping behind the counter. His digivice sat tucked away under the register, which allowed the spirit some level of freedom. Only people that were aware of the digital world could see these digivolutions.
Then they spoke, well one after the other. The younger woman seemed surprised to see such a creature here. The man was staring at the creature like something fascinated. Or at least he believed it was fascination. He wasn't expecting the other to turn into a digimon. Well rather, shrug off their appearance and show their true form. He had only met a few demidevimon; though they always seemed to be tagging along people in trouble.. or mon's in trouble. To have one as a tamer? That was surprising to the shop keep.
He'd set the tools aside, along with the item he was working on. She seemed a bit nervous to say the least, the large form of shattermon shifting a bit as someone spoke. Their ears swiveling and their head coming up slowly.
"Bother me? It's what my store is here for, What happened to it? I'm kan. This here is shattermon, he doesn't bite."
He'd gesture at shattermon whom, upon yawning only ended up making the broken part of his face split apart further.
"A pleasure seeing kin so deep into society hill. Don't suppose you come from the dark area do you?"

Alexa had to stop herself from squeaking at the large beast swiveled its ears. The shadow figure seemed to have an aura of gloom about it that deeply affected her. No, she had to calm down. Everything was okay. She was in a shop, as a customer, and it was just a digimon, a friendly-seeming one at that. She was being rude, being so worried about a harmless creature, even if it was hue and shadowy and imposing.
"Hi Kan. Hi Shattermon. Well, it's e-embarrassing, but I managed to spill juice on it while writing an essay." She felt even more embarrassed as she said it. Hopefully he'd have heard even stupider things happening to people's electronics.
Data smiled and flew over to the counter to look over Shattermon. He was so cool!
"A pleasure for us as well. I'm not personally from the dark area, but I've been there a few times. I actually come from the Northern Providence. Kind of weird, I know, but that's just how life is sometimes," Data said. "You look kind of ghostly. Mind if I ask why that is?"

The reaction that the human had made the larger spirit chuckle softly, the unearthly double voice resonating softly. It'd set it's head just above the counter "watching" what the both of the customers were doing. There was worry plain and simple, it could see that but it wasn't worrying to the large spirit. If anything it was amusing to them.
"A pleasure. That happens to more people than you would expect, may I take a look at it? Does it have a warranty or?"
Kan would offer to take the computer, and given the chance he'd take a peek at it. It was an easy fix, though time consuming seeing as it was going to need to dry before he did anything with it. Not wanting to electrocute himself...
"Ah. Is it doing well? As far as it can do I suppose..."
Shattermon would "raise" it's brows slightly, tilting it's head slowly when Data inquired about why the digimon was ghostly. The spirit gave a rather low and soft chuckle before slowly passing it's tail through the counter top as well as data if he didn't move.
"I am a Spirit, so of course I don't have a physical form. Thus the Ghostly state. Kan here is my user."
The digimon seemed a little pleased about this last bit more than anything; it didn't seem to be too bothered by the fact it was a spirit either...

Alexa handed the computer over, keeping one eye on the spirit digimon. She'd had heard of spirit digimon, but hadn't realized that spirits could appear independently of their spirit user. She was just learning more and more each day, even during seemingly benign experiences like bringing in her broken computer. She also felt better that at least she wasn't the only one dumb enough to spill liquid on her electronics. She wondered if Kan would even be able to fix digivices, should the worst happen to them.
"Snowflake Village is gone, you may know that already. It's been awhile since I've been in the dark area, but all was well, or at least as well as things usually are there," Data said in response to Shattermon. "A spirit? That's so cool! I had no idea you could appear to people besides your spirit users! I'm sure this is a stupid question, but what's it like being a spirit?" A very basic question, but one Data couldn't resist asking.
"Data, be polite," Alexa scolded, though she too wondered about these things. Data turned to her to talk back, and as he did, Shattermon's tail went through him. He shivered and jumped into Alexa's hands.
"Okay. That's an interesting feeling," Data said, trying not to sound too shaken. Alexa imagined it must've felt like a ghost - though she didn't exactly have any reference for that, either.

Kan quickly looked over the casing, looking for the spot that he would likely have to take this thing apart from. If there was any liquid on the inside it'd be an easy fix. He had a few solutions and honestly it wouldn't take too long to do so. Maybe three hours at the most? He'd have to dry out the computer, double check each piece and see if anything was on the fritz from it.
Shattermon on the otherhand was certainly enjoying the small bit of conversation that was coming his way from Data. A small sound of frustrating came from him upon hearing that snowflake village was gone. Again. How many times had they rebuilt that place entirely? They weren't sure.
"That is unfortunate to hear, I haven't been there since my conception a long time ago. The dark area is more my home than any other."
A small shrug of the shoulders and the spirit stood up, the massive spirit phasing through a portion of the building to stretch for a moment before settling back down with a soft tut.
"Not every spirit can, most are forced to reside in their totems or ilk. Most of Kan's spirits can project themselves in some manner. I am the weakest out of them able to do so. But alas, even as a champion spirit I cannot interact with the world."
Shattermon would laugh haughtily when Data inquired about what it was like being a spirit.
"Imagine being dead, but then imagine being alive and unable to interact with the world save through your spirit user."
Shattermon would of grinned at Data jumping into Alexa's hands, but rather he simply scratched at the top of his head with a small paw before waving it dismmisvely.
"He's fine. I should ask, as kan is going to be too busy looking at your computer for the time being. What is your name Ms? Haven't seen you about before, so you must be newer in the way of the digital world."
Kan snorted on the other hand and had brought out a few tools to get working on the computer, though it was obvious he was keeping an eye on the two in his store. From the ceiling a guffaw, also spiritual in nature could be heard. Someone seemed to be watching something upstairs...
"And that would be silvermon. Our resident Beast spirit. He's enjoying some show it seems...."
"And by the sounds of it he got into the fridge too..."
"Oh bother."
"I DID NOT."

Alexa's eyes darted between Kan fixing her computer and Shattermon. The creature was even able to phase from through the building they were in. Her fear abated to curiosity. She listened to the creature explain what it was like to be a spirit.
"I imagine that can be frustrating. I mean, Data can't evolve without me, but he can still go out on his own. I kind of imagine he'd be bored if he always had to be around me all the time. Oh. Sorry, I hope it's okay for me to say that," she added, hurriedly.
"We are planning to go to the dark area for a client soon. We can bring something back if you'd like," Data offered. They'd been asked to find a psychemon lost in the dark area. Hopefully they'd be going as soon as the computer was fixed.
"I'm Alexa. And yeah, we're pretty new, or at least, I am. Data's been around the digital world a bit longer than I have, as you might have guessed."
They heard something upstairs. Alexa looked up, as though she'd be able to see throught he walls to find out what was making the noises. So, there were multiple spirits? That sounded both fun and exhausting to deal with.
"So that one can eat? And effect the world around him?" Data asked? Alexa, meanwhile, tired not to imagine what this newest spirit looked like.

It didn't take kan long to get into the casing, it was quite obvious that he knew what he was doing. In both dealing with his spirits and dealing with electronics. Seeing as he wasn't the least bit bothered by the fact Silvermon had gotten into the fridge. He'd mumble something to himself about having to keep it stocked.
"It can be frustrating yes, but it's someone amusing. We can't do anything without him, and he can't do anything without us."
"Anything digital wise yes, Human. No I've got that down."
"quite. It's all right to say that, it does get dreadfully dull but.. We make due."
Shattermon tilted it's head and were it able to frown it might of done so. It'd shake it's head slowly raising a small paw with one of them held in such a way that would mimic a finger. It'd waggle that said digit along with it's head.
"No. Do not bring anything from the digital world ot here, unless needed. Our worlds split across enough as it is, and taking something over here without knowing the effects might end badly for one or the other. The humans have this study about invasive species, regarding to plants, animals and such. Wouldn't want it to accidentally bring something else over..."
"....were you watching the history channel or something?"
"Yes actually, when silvermon wasn't hogging the television."
Shattermon scratched and shrugged it's massive shoulders.
"A pleasure to meet you Alexa, that's a surprise seeing as many of the tamers we've met previously have had their partners come from eggs."
"Or from their phones in some cases..."
"Indeed."
Shattermon paused and glanced over at kan, whom was still working on opening the computer up albeit carefully. Shattermon seemed content to interact with the two while his spirit user worked on the computer.
"Yes; albeit the food doesn't stay in while the items he effects cannot be too heavy. Honestly it's amusing. He much prefers having a full stomach and the only way he can do that is when he's the chosen form."
As though hearing someone talking about him, Silvermon's top most half eased through the ceiling, first by it's head where it's hair started to drape down before it slid down completely and landed with an audible thump behind the pair. The beast tier spirit sniffing at the pair; it's eyes blinking in
"He's also the most protective, but you two aren't a danger to us or our spirit user."
"SMELL'S NICE. NOT LIKE LAVEN.... DER. BUT SMELL NICE ANYWAYS."
"...Perceptive of you Silvermon."
"SMALL. DIG...IMON. DEMI....DEVIMON."
The beast tier sniffed at data a little more curiously before backing off the pair, brows furrowed. It'd gesture at Data; it's tail wagging slightly.
"CUST... CUSTOMERS? HOW. OLD?"

Alexa breathed a sigh of relief as she saw Kan take off the casing. Not that she wanted to leave or anything, but it made her feel better that Kan seemed to know where the problem was right away - or at least that as what she thought it meant. And he seemed to be alright with the other spirit ransacking the fridge. She imagined that must be how things generally were for him. She thought back to Edgar, the Xros general she'd befriended. He'd eventually have about 7 digimon. She couldn't imagine trying to keep all those fed. Even if Data liked more expensive foods, he didn't eat that much, so that was a small blessing.
Data wondered what being a spirit would be like. He'd resent not being free to do what he wanted, but maybe if he were with an interesting person like Kan, that could be forgiven. Data could imagine himself getting killed and turning into a spirit for revenge. Luckily, that didn't happen this time. Actually, the more he thought about it, the more content he was just being him, not a spirit. He of course didn't say that aloud.
"Right, good point. Unstable data and such could be very bad for the real world," Data said. "Humans do have interesting TV shows, don't they? I'd just seen one on wolves in a place called yellowstone park. Reminded me of some Garurumon tribes I'd met. I wonder if non-humans ever get to be tamers?"
"I doubt it. We're supposedly the only sentient species on earth," Alexa explained.
"Only sentient species you know of. You didn't know of digimon until recently, after all," Data counted. Alexa nodded. He did have a point.
"And a pleasure to meet you, though Data did come from an egg. He just had a life before his egg came to me."
"I was, and still am, a detective. I used to work in the Terminus police force. They don't know I'm back yet. Dunno how'd they feel if had a human partner," Data said.
"I guess a digimon can come from a phone," Alexa said. It made sense. Now that she thought of it, it seemed logical that digimon could come from a variety of places. And then she looked up. At this point she had gotten tired of jumping or squeaking in fear, but just for old time's sake, she flinched as the large wolf-creature appeared from the ceiling.
"Yes, we're no danger," Alexa said. Alexa blinked. She had been wearing some vanilla perfume. "T-thanks," she said. Though a little frightening still, the tail wagging was pretty cute. Data smiled at the creature before giving a little wave. "I'm about 26 in human years, I'd say," Data answered. "But I've only been 'alive' in this life for about 3 days."

Kan was just about as quick looking over the pieces within the casing; he could tell that the tea hadn't gotten in too deep. Else he would of seen some more black or wet spots. She must of shut it off quickly or something; he wasn't sure but he was certainly grateful that there wasn't deeper damage thus far. But to be safe he'd have to "peel" back the top most layer and see.
"Incredibly so, that's why solo digimon shouldn't be here for too long. Could cause some trouble on both ends."
Shattermon snorted and shook it's head when the other seemed to inquire that there might be non-human tamers or ilk. He highly doubted it, if it did happen he also doubted they would amount to much past just getting eaten somewhere.
"Highly unlikely. Seeing as they're the only ones capable of speech or the ilk, and were there more they might not even surface anyways."
A small shrug and shattermon paused as data shared that he used to be a detective, or rather was a detective and that they didn't know he was back yet.
"interesting. In life I wasn't anything such as that, a simple gardener was my proffession. Hard to grow things in the dark area, but oh so worth it when they did."
"...You were a gardener? How?"
"Carefully of course."
Shattermon chuckled and eased itself back into a position where it could recline comfily behind the coutnertop.
"I'm more surprised he came down here, He's a stickler for good smells though so I suppose that's a good enough reason."
Silvermon tilted it's head, three sets of the eyes looking at data while the mess of them on it's shoulder all swiveled and looked at Alexa in union. It'd huff softly and scratch at it's neck.
"BEEN DEAD FOR.... SHATTERMON?"
"He's not very good with numbers, but he was 'alive' almost two or three digital hundred years ago. As far as I can acertain at least."
"YOU. YOUNG."
Silvermon would huff again and take a seat on the counter after working it's way around the pair. It was fairly relaxed even with the "new" people around. Kan grumbled a bit and set the computer "frame' down and gestured at it.
"Just going to have to dry it out a bit, won't take too long and you can get back to that essay you were writing."
He'd hold up a can of pressurized air, sighing softly.
"This is a really simple fix, something that anyone could of done on just about any day. So it's not going to be too pricey either."

"We've actually met some solo digimon. A good one and a bad one. The good one helped us deal with the bad one," Data said. The duo wondered where K was now. Hopefully she was doing alright. She had disappeared suddenly, but she had also evolved to ultimate, so likely, she'd be safe, wherever she was.
"I have heard, in my time, or robotic humans that have traveled to the digital world, as well as humans made of data. None of them were tamers, from my understanding. Still, it's fun to think about," Data said. Alexa kept it in mind to ask about these tales later.
"Gardening? Now that's quite interesting. What kind of things did you make grow in the dark area? I doubt I'd be able to do that, nor do I know many others that could. That's quite a talent," Data said. Alexa nodded. From what she understood, little grew in the dark area besides small, dry shrubs.
Alexa blushed. Sure, she tried to smell good as often as possible - she had a bath addiction and loved her collection of perfumes - but to attract a digimon's attention? It was an honor, really. At the very least, she didn't seem to smell terrible.
"Three or two hundred years? Oh wow. It has been some time indeed. No wonder everything's so weird in the digital world. The human world's weird too, but I have a better excuse for that," Data said. He nodded at being called 'young'. He wasn't a spring chicken, but he wasn't a foot in the grave, either.
"I suppose you all have been around for much longer, then?" Data asked.
Alexa walked over to Kan, finally taking her eyes off the spirits. "Thank you. I really appreciate it, even if anyone could have done it. You're so good with your hands..." She didn't seem to notice anything wrong with what she said, though Data did chuckle a bit int he background.

"the few that we've managed to interact with are generally well mannered if not a little brutish."
"If you're talking about those that we met in the temple..."
"That is exactly of whom I am referring."
Shattermon shrugged a bit and silvermon, obviously bored ended up laying down on the coutnertop. Kan reached over and gently patted the spirit on the head, He was their spirit user so of course he could interact with them fully. Before of course working on the computer some more, drying it out with sprays of pressurized air.
"Flowers. Big red ones, veiny red leaves as well. The problem was that they didn't want to take to certain areas, they should still be there now I think. If no one has destroyed them."
"You should of told me."
"It never came up."
Shattermon chuckled softly when they saw that blush, settling down just a bit more, looking rather comfortable in comparison to earlier. It didn't seem to particularily to enjoy phasing through things.
"More or less. It's like going to a whole new place. I've only been dead for maybe half that time, It's hard to tell the passage of such a thing when it means nothing to you."
The spirit shrugged and glanced at data; their latest question making it pause. It'd slowly dip it's head in a nod.
"Yes. We've been around for an incredibly long time in comparison to our living counterparts. Kryptmon being the oldest of us of course. Well. Oldest deceased but don't expect him to show up. Antisocial as it gets, quiet chap. To be expected how he spent all his time entombed in the frozen mausoleum."
Kan of course was still drying off the pieces of the computer, double checking things when Alexa came over. He'd pause in his work; coughing slightly at the mention at being good with his hands. In such an odd way none the less.
"Years of practice I assure you, I have to be good with my hands to do delicate work after all."
He tried to play it off the best he could, rubbing the back of his head awkwardly before turning over such a piece that splashed a little bit of tea on the counter top. He'd shake his head and take a paper towel from under the counter before rubbing it off.
"Reminds me when I first found out about the digivice, spilled a bit of water on my computer at the time. Took forever to dry out..."

The temple? Now that was probably a good story. Alexa looked over to silvemron. Despite the overall gloominess and multiple eyes, it still was pretty cute, kind of like a big wolf. No, no, it was a spirit and deserved respect. She would try to remember that. She realized she went so quickly between fearing digimon and wanting to pet them. Hopefully she'd get over that eventually.
"We could get those flowers. No, right, no bringing data over. Oh, wait. We could take pictures of them if we can find them. Would the be alright," Data asked. "True, time is kind of a weird thing when it goes so quickly in the digital world." He still had a good track of time - it was important in his work. But he imagined life as an ancient spirit went much faster.
"That's fine. To be honest, I'm having a fine time talking to all of you. If he's not feeling up to it, that's fine, let the poor guy rest," Data said upon hearing about Kyrptmon. Plus he didn't want Alexa to have a heart attack, seeing whatever a very ancient spirit looked like.
"Hmm. I guess we're kind of alike, spilling things on our computer. And delicate work, eh? What other things have you found yourself repairing? Do you think you could fix a digivice?" She asked, her curiosity overwhelmed her. "I've never had the chance to look inside one - I'd probably break it anyway. But I imagine it's fascinating." She realized how much she was talking. She blushed and shut up. She didn't want to be too annoying.

Silvermon could tell he was being looked at, a swath of the eyes swiveling back to look over at alexa. It tilted it's head and shrugged after a few moment's, lazing easily on the coutnertop as it truly had no weight outside of being used as a spirit digivolution.
"Pictures would be lovely, lest me and my user here visit before you all do."
"Well depends on the dealings with that orginization."
"PROFIT you mean."
"yes."
"we'll see I suppose."
Shattermon paused again and noticeably would of frowned had they had a face. Their ears ended up laying flat and the spirit shook it's head.
"It's better that he's not "feeling" like it. He's a monster plain and simple, he relishes in destruction and fighting. Much like silvermon, he simply doesn't have an off button. Were he here and paying attention in full, you'd know."
"You used to be the same way."
"So did everyone but Reapermon, but we learned to control ourselves better didn't we?"
Kan tilted his head a little bit musing on what he had repaired before. Though he continue working on the computer, it was easy to see that he knew what he was doing along with being able to pay attention to multiple things at once.
"Cellphones are a common thing, any sort of electronic you could think of. Most vehicles.. and the few cases of having to work on firearms for the police here. Over silly little things."
The last question made kan pause and he'd bring out his digivice, the broken screen easily being the first thing noticed about it.
"Digivice's are fickle. They fix themselves, break themselves and are something like their users. This wasn't mine, it was some kids almost a decade or so ago. Never said a word, just donated it in the electronic's box."
Shattermon snorted softly but didn't say anything.
"I cannot for the life of me open one, it's impossible by my reckoning, any scans I've done of them yields nothing. Any attempts to breach the casing breaks my tools. It's made out of something... Just amazing. I wish I could figure it out but I can't for the life of me."
He'd note the blush and shift slightly, looking down at the digivice and then over at the computer.
"Some things can be fixed easily, some things you have to ease into fixing them. Your computer being one of the first, but I imagine digivice's are something like people, far more complicated than that."
He'd grumble a little bit, gently working on the computer again, it was obvious he was making good progress on the thing.
"Now as I mentioned earlier, the cost of this will be very cheap. But I understand if finances are a problem."

Data nodded. Pictures would be easy enough. Alexa's phone did work in the digital world, and it had a decent camera, so that would be just fine. And another organization? They'd heard of AEGIS, so it was no surprise there would be other organizations out there.
Ah, so spirits needed to learn control. He supposed that they did have to deal with the lack of power that came with a human body. "So... are you saying you used to be a monster focused solely on destruction? What brought about that change and the added control?" Data asked.
"The police, even? I imagine that must've been interesting. I bet they don't just trust anyone with their guns," Alexa said. Alexa looked over and saw the cracks in Kan's digivice. She'd seen another cracked digivice recently, that belonged to a digimon. She guessed cracked digivices were more common than she had previously thought.
"They even break themselves? And I'm guessing you don't know anything about the kid who donated it. But it's possible he just found it and never used it. I can't imagine voluntarily giving a digivice up."
"I guess they're made of something otherworldly. Maybe the digital world's tools could work on it, but I doubt anything in our world can." She pondered on Kan's wording. Maybe digivices were like digimon and humans - each one unique with their own personality.
"Finances are no problem," Alexa said quickly, before realizing what she said. In the background, Data sighed and put a wing to his forehead. "I mean, I can give you whatever you ask." Data sighed again. Alexa wasn't quite sure what to say.
