Job: Human Patrol # of Jobs Taken This Month: 3
She could not have known that this simple chain of jobs would turn out to be another tight knot that tied past, present and future together...It was a very early evening on this mild, sunny Autumn day. A constant yet gentle breeze streamed past everything, bringing motion to both flora and parts of the fauna. The edge of the horizon had barely assumed a tint of orange, implying that there were still plenty of hours left before true nightfall. Just half a hour ago, Cion had fulfilled the mission of taking care of innocent bystanders that had been injured during a battle that left no traces of the combatants behind, and was already well on her way to finish the task by reporting to the current representative of ElDoradimon, who was known as Jijimon In fact, The CyberSagitamon Huntress Mode was doing just that in the main plaza of the city located on ElDoradimon. It was quite a charming place; a mix of ancient architecture and utopian adornments being its main design and appeal. Life appeared to be pleasant and carefree here, with the xenophobia towards humans being the clear exception. But that was none of her business as long as she could bring honor to P.R.O.F.I.T., reap the rewards of her accomplishments and return peace and harmony to the local population. Thus far, it had been trivial, disregarding the mental breakdown she had for a minute or two, but those were memories she preferred not to contemplate. "... when everyone returned home, I left as well to come here." The fully armored digimon reported in her typical voluble style, her voice both mature and noticeably synthetic through her helmet. Nonetheless there was a lot of patience, compassion and determination behind them that would leave nobody who truly listened in doubt that her impetus was pure. Her vulpine body was mostly cybernetics at this stage of her digivolution, but her heart, mind and soul, despite the fresh scars, were very much beaming with goodwill. "Y-yes. I've received confirmation before through telepathy. W-well done, ma'am. This was far more than we had expected, but it appears you mons from P.R.O.F.I.T are really living up to your name." The old virus buster spoke with utmost cheer, glad to know that no innocent lives had been lost due to injuries claiming them. "Always." Cion commented calmly yet without self-effacement, wearing the golden emblem on her power armor chest plate with pride. For a few seconds, a heavy wind emerged, causing her white neck-pelt, tail and coat of blue binary code to sway violently. Her golden cyborg-like eyes, the only body part except her tail and neck-pelt that was visible in her armor, scanned the area, feeling like something was off. "Oh don't worry. Beloved and exalted ElDoradimon just decided to rest for a while. This always happens when it comes to a hold, you must know." The old coot explained, to which Cion only nodded in acknowledgment. Hopefully this civilization was peaceful enough to avoid any future conflicts with humans that had no drive to cause harm; after all, Cion did not want any more wars to occur. "But I'm sure you are more interested in your reward than that, are you not fair maiden?" Jijimon asked somewhat rhetorically, pulling her out of her thoughts about the gigantic digimon they stood on. Again, she nodded. "As per agreement. Everyone needs to make a living after all." She argued, not wanting to be seen as simply another mercenary. No, she had standards and a strong code of ethics. She loved helping out wherever possible, but also had responsibilities herself that required her attention and contribution. "But of course. Everyone plays their part in the big wheel of life. And someone who has mended the wounds of over a dozen poor, innocent digimons certainly deserves a token of appreciation." He said as he handed her a bar of refined digizoid wrapped in fabric. "Completely pure digizoid; our finest smithery. Selling that for an adequate pay to any forger worth anything should be trivial for businessmons like yourself." He explained, which was followed by kind laughter. "Many thanks." The ascended CyberSagitamon replied, gladly taking the bar of raw material and storing in her belt pockets. "Speaking of tokens... have you found interest in other tasks we have as well? We currently don't have volunteers, all of them being afraid by humans and such. Yet scouting the area should be no problem for a... tenacious warrior like yourself, not?" He asked, and if there was a point to showing a facial expression then one of her eyebrows would be raised into the sky. She really did not get it; at all. Why, in every of her incarnations, were there places and people that either hated or feared humans, or both? They were not the root of all evil in the digital world; digimons were that almost always. Sighing ever so quietly, she remained composed as she so often did and nodded. "I was thinking about it. Though I wonder if sunlight is still enough for today."

Roy the Veemon and Rex the Guilmon had experienced much in their first outing from the boundaries of their home on El Doradimon. They had made their first encounter with humans, which thankfully turned out to be positive; they had met outsider digimon that were friendly, and they were ready to return home and inform their superiors of their sightings.
It was a somewhat difficult task to find a way back to El Doradimon though. For the Rookie levels, it had been almost impossible, had it not been from the assistance of the human from PROFIT with the twin Impmon and Elecmon partners, and his Heliodramon mercenary. Indeed, had Roy and Rex been fixed to the old ways, they would have simply run away from the human. But as they were willing to trust him, well, not only was he able to find El Doradimon, but also complied with their request to drop the dragon twins on the ancient digimon civilization without asking further questions.
It was moments like that in which the twin brothers felt vindicated in trusting humans. Yes, they could act a bit snobbish and uppity, but, if presented with genuine kindness, they were very much capable of kindness in return.
And so here Roy and Rex were, walking through the plaza of the civilization of El Doradimon.
"Roy, what should we do first?" the Guilmon asked. Even if he was bigger, he was most certainly the less mature of the pair. And he relied on his elder brother Roy to give directions.
"Well, we should probably head to the central plaza" Roy answered. Yeah, that was a good idea. Their superior digimon, Strikedramon, was often present in that area. And he would be able to direct them further.
So, Roy and Rex proceeded through the plaza of the town, being sure to mind their own business from the many events occurring around the place.
However, before they arrived at Strikedramon's hut on the outskirts of town, they noticed a digimon they had never seen before. Initially, of course, they thought to go on their own way, but, Roy in particular noted that she seemed to be an outsider. But not an unfriendly outsider though, as the authorities didn't seem to pay much attention. She was talking to Jijimon, which was a significant event, as Jijimon didn't often speak to digimon he didn't deem important.
Still though, Rex's curiosity brought him closer to her. And thus Roy's was too. Eventually, the twins found themselves in front of her, and decided to ask how she was going.
"Uh, hi, do you like it here so far in El Doradimon's City?" Rex asked, a little nervously, but nowhere near as nervous as Roy was. A Mega level digimon, here suddenly in their civilization. Was... was something going to happen between them and the world below? Oh gosh he hoped not.

Looking upwards towards the sky as she contemplated Jijimon's offer to take on one final task, Cion estimated how many hours of sunlight she had left. From what she could estimate, there were at least 2 hours of daylight remaining. Considering her speed, mobility and Vertigo's scanners, doing a proper scouting mission in this short amount of time was not out of the question. The idea behind it, born out of unfounded anonymity towards mankind, was inherently repulsive.. but could she truly afford to say no? The reward she would reap and the recognition she would be able to attain for herself and the organization she belonged to... they were tempting.
Before the ascended CyberSagitamon had enough time to form a decision however, a new voice pulled her out of her thoughts. Looking down to her right, she beheld the small frames of two locals; a Veemon and a Guilmon. Only the red reptile had been able to muster enough courage to address her directly, Partially crouching, her golden eyes met those of Rex, curiosity creeping into her mind. What reasons could these two possibly have to approach her? Well, there was only one way to find out.
Her helmet and coat of blue binary code faded away in white light, signifying that she had de-digivolved into her Ultimate form. The gracile, silver muzzle carried a warm, gentle smile as she looked down upon the kid who was interested in her well-being. "Why yes, thank you. It's certainly respectable in design." She kindly gave credit to the city's architecture and general design. While its heart was tainted by xenophobia, she had to admit that it looked like a little Utopia from the outside. If it really was all just tinsel and glitter she still had to decide.
Out of courtesy, she reached a paw out to the Guilmon, willing to shake hand with him as a sign of peace and trust. Yet as she did so, her gaze shifted to the other young digimon, the Veemon she would soon know as Roy. Visible inquisitiveness formed itself on her lips as he took a good look at him. His kind was rare - and all too familiar to her. Cion had experience many strange things in her lives, and considering how many old friends she had already reunited with... was it possible that he...
"Hmm..." She let out, stretching herself ever so slightly as she yawned, her other paw in front of her maw. This had partially been a deliberate act, as it openly revealed her neck and white neck-pelt - and of course the green scarf that might cause memories inside the Veemon to resurface if he was who she thought he was. Ceasing her stretch again eventually, the CyberSagitamon waited for Roy's reaction, reaching out a paw for him to shake as well.

The amazing digimon's helmet and coat disappeared in an instant, and thus Rex and Roy were looking up at an impressive beast-type digimon. She seemed friendly, so Roy relaxed a little. But still, he was curious as to why she was here. Was she doing favours? That would be awesome if it was true, Roy did think that El Doradimon's civilization could do well if only it could get over its fear of outsiders.
Rex meanwhile was glad at Cion's praise to the civilization. "Hee, yeah, I got no idea how it was built, although our mentor says that it was all formed when El Doradimon digivolved to this form".
The digimon extended a paw, and Rex shook it gladly. He liked this method of greeting, even if it originated from the humans. But Rex didn't particularly mind them.
Roy meanwhile looked up at Cion, then noticed something. Was that... a green scarf she was wearing? That lavender and white fur... that posture. Why did it seem so familiar to him?
Memories of a faraway land began to surface. A grand kingdom on a lost continent. Roy shook his head a little, closing his eyes as his head twinged a little with pain at memories. Was... was this someone he knew?
"Roy, what's wrong?" Rex asked, instantly detecting that his brother was suffering some kind of discomfort.
"It's... uh... alright, I think" Roy answered, realizing that admitting what he had just experienced would bring only more confusion and discomfort. Instead, he decided to introduce himself, offering to shake her paw as well. "Hiya. I'm Ran- I mean, Roy, and this is my brother Rex" he said, then seemed startled at the name he almost said. He didn't seem to be able to say more. Rex meanwhile thought everything was fine and grinned.
"So, you were talking to Jijimon just now, that means you're doing something good for the town, right?" the Guilmon asked, cheerfully.

"Would make sense I'd say." Was Cion's calm response to Rex's suggestion that the architecture of the city itself was indeed part of ElDoradimon's very data - its being. Though certainly regarded as insane outside of the digital world, their realm was a fantastical one in which many strange entities with even more bizarre features existed. Devilish mercenaries with shotguns, dragon-paladins, cyborgs of flesh and metal - so why not a titanic digimon which carried a village carved out ot its chitin on top of it? To the CyberSagitamon, it was almost as mundane as grilled sandwiches, of which she could surely savor one or two this early evening if she had any.
Gladly taking the Guilmon's paw to shake it as a sign of trust and peace, her attention shifted to the Veemon who appeared even more curious about her than his buddy. Naturally, Cion was inquisitive as well, believing that in front of her stood someone truly special to her. She was not sure about it and the digimon these days known as Rex likely did not remember, but that only led her to investigate the matter at hand. It was with utmost advertency that the vulpine mercenary observed the blue boy's reaction.
And the display of her green scarf alone was sufficient for shards of lost memories to resurface into his awareness - his aching bafflement being an unambiguous indicator. The rapt, wintry smile which formed itself on the silver fighter's muzzle was of pure delight, pleasant memories of centuries of honor and duty to good itself returning to her. Although their universe had experienced palingenesis since then - again - their devotion had left marks which lingered. Despite having their flaws, civilization in many senses was flourishing on a global scale, savagery and naturalism no longer running amok. There were problem for sure, yet they were nothing which could not be fixed, too.
It was with this bliss and hope that the CyberSagitamon happily took Not-Randy's claw to also shake it. "Pleased to meet both of you, Rex and Roy. I am Cion." She responded kindly, not finding it difficult to address an old friend by a new name. After all, for some reason it had only been Owen the Gaomon who had kept his throughout the ages - an aspect of his that was quite intriguing. However, in the end Cion was content with who she was, and she hoped the same was true for her lifelong companions as well.
Though there was an urge inside the huntress to instantly reveal the Veemon's past to him, she knew that it was quite a burden to bear. Perfectly satisfied to have ignited the fire of revelation which was bound to be fueled by her familiar comrade's steady ascendance, she let the topic for the moment. If there were questions which he voiced she'd answer truthfully, but if not then she gave him all the time he needed to come to terms with himself and what he once used to be.
Noticing the Guilmon's cheeriness, she returned the same with a winning grin of her own. "A requested task at least. Tis but a recon mission." She somewhat downplayed her contribution, humble as she was. That was obviously not to Jijimon's gusto, making the supposedly sagacious elder step forward. "Oh, do not sell yourself for less than you are worth, fair maiden. Every task I am delegated to entrust someone with is of paramount importance." The old coot declared confidently, taking pride in his role as representative.
Shrugging with a gracile sigh, the armored member of P.R.O.F.I.T. was not one to argue against appreciation... and great remuneration.

Roy felt the warmth flow through him as they shook hands. Not only because Cion was a mammalian digimon while he was reptilian, but, it felt more than that somehow. Like... he was meeting an old friend again for the first time in a while, and yet, he couldn't remember.
Rex saw that his brother was feeling something over this, but didn't want to make things awkward by bringing attention to it. Instead, he thought carrying the conversation on might be helpful. "Cion, that's a nice name" he said, while Roy turned for a moment to regather his composure, the Veemon pacing the spot slowly for a few steps before turning around again at the mention of a recon mission.
"Oh! Jijimon!" he exclaimed, seeing the old digimon there startling him. But then it was mentioned that Cion was going to be involved in a recon mission. "Is that right? Well... can we please help?" he offered. "I mean... we're training to be scouts ourselves, and we'd be honored to help out".
Rex tilted his head in confusion. Would they really? He glanced between Roy and Cion. Somehow Roy had been acting odd ever since he started talking to her. Was this for an important reason? Of course Rex didn't think it was anything bad, he trusted his brother to be good and true in everything, but there seemed to be something more to this. Especially if it was making Roy awkward and hesitant.
Still, he kinda hoped that Cion would approve. It'd be awesome to go on a recon trip with such a nice digimon. There was so much that they could learn!

"Roy and Rex are nice names as well - and they suit you." Cion kindly returned the compliment with her typical sincerity. She liked short nomenclatures, a trait that was rather common among digimons. Including the three of them, there were Logan, Luke, Owen, Brad... Voughn, Randy... all the digimons she was most familiar with had not too long names. Although an outlier, even Bellamy was simple to pronounce. It was... strange... as the species of digimons often had quite the mouthfuls of identifications. Heh - perhaps this simplification was the explanation to it all; but in the end, it did not matter much.
Listening to the two reptilian scouts in training wanting to join her mission, going as far as to call it a honor, caused the CyberSagitamon to chuckle with delight. Ambitious and ready for action as usual- yeah that had certainly always been a trait to the wonderful Veemon. "Of course. Coaching novices is always time well spent." She stated calmly, confident that helping younglings attain knowledge and experience was one of the best ways to secure a good future. It worked in the human world, and although it was far less common in the digital one, it surely would not hurt.
Jijimon did not interfere for as long as the mercenary from P.R.O.F.I.T. was in charge of such tasks of utmost importance. This was of course a given since she was the 'adult' of this group, though it was far from her to treat her two new friends like they were inapt children. Still it was a mission which needed to be fulfilled, and there were a couple of ways of doing so. "Shall we go by aircraft? My partner Vertigo has enough interior space for the three of us, and I could teach you a bit of technology. If you are in need of exercise or know of some good lookout points, we could traverse by foot instead."
See? Cion was already treating them like partners and students, open to their input and the local knowledge they likely possessed. She was going to make a profit either way, and she was simply forthcoming and considerate like that.

The dragon twins grinned at the compliment about their names. Yes, they were just one syllable each, but both found that they liked it. They also fitted well with each other, which they also liked - it made them feel right as brothers.
They were even more delighted when Cion agreed to take them with her on her scouting quest. Then Cion asked if they were fine to go by aircraft. This surprised them both, their amber and red eyes widening at the prospect.
"You have a partner?" Roy asked, curiously. A partner named Vertigo it seemed. An aircraft digimon. Roy glanced at Rex for his reaction.
"Oh my gosh, yes, could we please ride in your aircraft partner?" the Guilmon asked eagerly. Roy seemed a little less eager for this prospect, but his brother turned to sell the idea on him. "Come on, Roy, we've never flown before! It'll be awesome to see the world from the sky!" with this he added further. "I mean, we're both dragons, right? One day we'll grow wings and see it anyway, so, why not have someone nice like Cion give us our first experience?"
"Well... if you put it that way, I guess that's a good point" Roy reasoned. Plus he felt like he could trust Cion. "Okay then! Could we please ride on Vertigo with you?" he asked, although saying the word "Vertigo" out loud made him slightly dizzy, thankfully he didn't embarrass himself by staggering.

Such curiosity for the barely noteworthy fact that a mercenary of her high caliber had someone to call a partner? Okay - that was both kind of adorable and told her that Rex and Roy were still rather young in their current incarnations. But hey, as with Logan, childlike inquisitiveness and wonder was most of the time delightful, and today was no exception with these charming reptilian scouts to-be. As to be expected with the youngsters she had in front of her, a somewhat heated debate emerged due to her offers and suggestions - something Cion made sure not to interfere with.
However, it did not take long for the Guilmon to convince the Veemon that it was the best for them to make the experience of being airborne, as there was a great likelihood that they would one day spawn wings of their own. 'Clever lad.' She thought to herself, impressed by the red dino's sportive forward-looking thinking. If the CyberSagitamon didn't know better she would have guessed that it was Rex who used to be Randy with all of those smarts of his. Chuckling quietly, she shook her head and eventually nodded, standing firmly on her two legs. "Of course. Then come along my boys! Mustn't waste daylight after all."
And it was with these unwound, almost kittenish words that she waved goodbye to Jijimon, motioning the endearing freshmons to follow her lead. So... less training and more of a once in a blue moon adventure, huh? Certainly could not hurt, and Vertigo definitely enjoyed impressing strangers with his unrivaled flight skills. Speaking of which, better let her ally be aware of the guests. Calmly, she pressed her right index finger against her large, fluffy ear. "Vertigo? We got one final job before we return. Also, be ready for 2 new friends. Please and thank you, darling."
Naturally, the both Rex and Roy would not be able to make out the response she received, but that hardly mattered. Only requiring a few minutes to reach the edge of the ancient city, and with that ElDoradimon's outer rim as well, the sight of a vast forest stretching out in all directions revealed itself to the trio. They were dozens of meters above even the mightiest of trees, yet to their fortune there was no need for them to jump. What for did they have an aircraft as not to circumvent such silly hassles?
The booming roars of ablaze jet engines could be heard coming closer to them - from beneath them to be precise. Arising from the world beneath them like a rocket, the forces released by the ascended AceJetmon clearly imposed quite a seesaw upon the nearby flora, granting his entrance a small yet spectacular touch to it. With the tip of his nose a mere inch away from the nomadic city, his red eyes displayed cheer as the big, mechanical digimon gazed at everyone. "Good day, chaps and gal." He greeted them, his deep and partially synthetic voice carrying a lot of vim and elation with it, almost as if he was an overexcited butler.
Smiling, Cion gave his trusted companion a thumbs up before making a gentle hop onto his nose. Calmly and free from giddiness she approached the vitreous roof of the large cockpit, which of course opened thanks to Vertigo's courtesy. Turning around without entering, she clap the lads, hoping they would triumph over the first challenge that was likely a rational amount of acrophobia. "Scouts gotta be able to maneuver any terrain." She reminded them of their passion and its required skills. Naturally, she spoke those words in good faith, wishing nothing but success for the two dragons.

Roy was much more positively inclined to engage in this experience when Rex put it to him in that way. And Cion backing it up made it something he could simply not put aside. All of this simply lined up too well with old memories of the past. Names like "Voughn", "Owen" and "Tyrolia" thumping around in his mind. Yes, at the moment these meant nothing more to him than thing he had encountered in the past, but, he had remembered a time when those words meant something meant something to him, and thus, the salvation extended to more than it really was in his mind.
As Vertigo approached, indeed, many digimon within El Doradimon slowed in their speeches to the approaching digimon. Thankfully none were attacked, allowing normal operation in this of all situations.
Roy and Rex carefully climbed aboard as Vertigo landed, giving them a welcome to this ride. It was all very exciting. Although when Roy sat down he felt somewhat nervous as to what he should expect.
Cion's words did help him out a bit though. "Right, any terrain" he repeated, preparing himself for the journey. Rex meanwhile was simply excited to begin, eager to see what would happen. He trusted his brother would forget all these things as soon as they took off.

Taking a careful look at her students, Cion made notice in which way both Roy and Rex attempted to enter Vertigo who hovered about a hundred or so meters above the next piece of ground. To her delight, they showed no fear but adequate amounts of care, making sure that every step counted. That seemed to be the most reasonable approach, for trepidation and temerity alike were hindrances in some circumstances. Sighing quietly, the CyberSagitamon nodded and entered the cockpit of her synthetic companion as well, taking the front set while the two reptilian lads took those behind her.
"Would you kindly activate the G-diffuser? The first ride should be easy on our guests." The vulpine warrior calmly instructed her partner who happily obliged after closing the glass dome above the three passengers. "Of course. They won't feel a thing." He assured them joyfully, not minding easing the strain on those he transported for as long as he could savor the forces of high velocity himself. And since Cion did not have to assume any form of manual control, they were practically ready for take-off.
In a sudden burst of acceleration that the trio did not perceive at all except through sight due to aforementioned reversing device, Vertigo soared towards the sky, quickly turning the view into a gargantuan vista. It did not take long for even the titanic ElDoradimon to become a small speck in the landscape as the empowered AceJetmon dashed through the big blue mere meters beneath the few clouds that graced it. A pleasant cruise for everyone, though kind of boring for the sentient machine. Yet he took pride in the fact that he was duty-bound, hence he did not voice his thoughts.
Clearing her throat, the cybernetically enhanced fox gave her new friends the time they wanted to adjust to the high altitude and the wondrous view that unfolded itself all around everyone. "Please scan the area for human signatures. You know why." She instructed her partner yet again, both of them aware of the superstition and xenophobia that plagued the mindset of the locals. But since they were paid and conflict was avoidable, they did not object.
"Soo... who are ya chaps?" Vertigo tried to break the ice, jolly as ever and interested in getting to know Roy and Rex better. It was probably a bit bizarre for the newcomers to realize that his mechanical voice came from speakers around them, but open-mindedness if not cosmopolitanism too was an attribute of every proper scout.
