That's just how things have to be huh?
It had only been a week since she had learned of what was going on truly with herself. It had been a bunch of self searching she wasn't sure that she was ready for; but she approached it none the less.
After the meeting with guru, she had gone to the human world to inform those of whom she worked with of what had transpired. It was a short meeting; one that ended on a high note. At least that's what it felt like to the renamon.
Over the course of this week she made sure to do her research the best she could, using any information immediately available to her to learn of those that she held in her core. There wasn't much on any of them considering just how far ago they had existed.
Which only meant to her that she must go back to the one that had helped her initiate this whole thing. A friend of sorts that she wasn't exactly sure what to think about at this point. She'd have to inform him of the choice she made along with the information that she had learned about the three in total.
Which is why she was here in whitewater; to inform her friend of what she had thought of. Or at least the bits and pieces she had managed to make sense of.
The renamon had to avoid the gaze of masses for the most part. Her Sigil still quite visible in each and every form she held. She was all right with having it displayed but without the power to back it up it'd become a problem. She wondered quietly to herself as she stepped through a rather familiar door if things would go according to the decision she made. Clearing her throat to hopefully grab the attention of the desk clerk she'd speak quickly and quietly.
"Is mikemon in?"

'Well, why don't we just make a core?'
It was a simple enough thing to think in the moment, and it was the project that Dr. Mikemon had set himself upon over the last several days. What had started out with hopeful research, mountains of source material, and recreating simple lab tests, however, had turned into quite the ordeal - and this was after finding an impressive breakthrough that could solve a data-flickering problem in the year or two to come!
But that was about where his efforts dried up. Just how could one make a shell of life for someone to use - not to mention, one that would be compatible with K's wishes? Unfortunately, he had to shelve the idea just two days ago, and keep going along with his normal series of patients...
... Which was why Mikemon was not at the door to greet K. Across the clerk's desk, the Stingmon looked up as the Renamon cleared her throat, giving a simple nod. "He's currently with a patient, but he should be wrapping up soon. Please, take a seat-"
Just as soon as the insect gestured his hand, the door to the back opened, a Deputymon tipping his hat as he made his way out the door. Behind, the Mikemon gave a small "You be sure to keep an eye on that wizard, alright? See you again in a month."
With a wordless nod, the metal Digimon slipped by, quickly stepping around the Renamon without a second glance. That brought Mikemon's eyes right to the fox: "Ah, welcome back, K. Stingmon, how's my schedule?"
"That should have been the last for the day, so..." The Stingmon shrugged, and Mikemon nodded. "Well, I take it you've been to Guru... how'd all that go?"

K scratched nervously at her muzzle; uncertain of what to really ask further; if he was with a patient she didn't want to int erupt him! She'd just have to wait of course for him to get finished. She wasn't sure how things had gone on his end, if he could even get started on the idea of making a core.
She personally doubted her own strength in the regard of going out and finding one that she could best and absorb. She had a really bad feelign that it'd go poorly and she wasn't about to take the risk of the sort to do so... Well she could, but would she feel good about absorbing another being?
She shook her head and followed where the bug was gesturing; only to have the door open quickly with both a Deputymon and the mikemon in question exiting from it. What wizard was he talking about? She tilted her head a little bit and found her eyes flicking from the seat she would of taken to the mikemon.
She gave a quick nod to the Deputymon before shifting to allow them to slip by unhindered by her figuring it'd be best not to get in the way.
"Good to see you Mikemon."
She'd rub her muzzle thoughtfully and glance at the stingmon. So the mikemon had an open schedule for today.. Which would make it easy to say the least.
"It went as well as you could expect. I learned a few things about my situation. Everything is a little more complicated than I'd like; but.. I suppose we could take a seat and I can explain it out in detail?"

Mikemon would have liked to say that he'd just been through a long string of patients, but aside from the Deputymon and a few wayward stragglers from the beach, the Doctor didn't have much in the way of patients today. It was concerning in one way, but it left the feline quite a bit of time for research, and for surprise cases like this. Hearing her answer, Mikemon gave a nod. "Well, we might as well... Stingmon? Get a fresh pot of coffee on. We'll have quite a bit to discuss."
And boy, was there a lot for the Renamon to discuss! The two had set up to talk in Mikemon's office, at a small meeting table away from the desk. K's story would be winding down, explaining her travel to Whitewater, those noticing her mark, and more importantly, the particular meeting with Guru. Mikemon wasn't surprised at the mental landscape itself, but for her to actually meet the Knights of the fourth age inside her mind?
There was definitely a lot to process. Taking the last of his coffee, the doctor mulled over the thoughts in his head, and gave a nod. "So you went with data, Jesmon? That might be why the crest decided to stay around. Still, just to hear the two of them stand against GraceNovamon is quite something..." He sighed. "Honestly, if you went with Vaccine, I might have been able to figure something out with the Rapidmon's core. As for my end?"
The doctor gave a sigh, followed by a chuckle: "It turns out creating life is not as easy as it sounds. With what I knew about data analysis, I drew up a few theories and ran the math, and accidentally found a treatment for 'Procedural Core Static'. Great news, don't get me wrong, but it doesn't help your case here..."
With that, he mulled over the information at hand. "If I could ask again, if you had to use another core, would you? I wouldn't ask for one from another Digimon, obviously, but in regards to using already loaded cores, or even those inside 'spirit totems'... would that work?"

K sighed softly and ran a hand through her fur, pausing on the spot that had the sigil of Jesmon for a brief moment. Before she would share everything she made certain to get everything straightened in her head first. There was quite a bit that she had to share after all!
With coffee in hand she went about explaining what exactly had happened at Guru's chapel. Her coffee unlike the mikemon's wasn't drained until near the end when she shared the part about her leaving before the Gracenovamon came. She doubted that meeting in particular would of went well considering that their first reaction was to destroy her in order to ensure the continuation of the 'prison' of the other two.
"That seemed by far the most proper choice. I've always helped people, I mean. It's litterally all I've ever known."
She'd shrug and rub her muzzle again; the idea of her going with GraceNovamon still worried her. In the end it could transpire if she absolutely wanted to keep going but... That would go against her decision to go with Jesmon.
"If I had gone with Vaccine, I feel like two of my cores would of rebelled in their entirety."
She'd snort softly and shake her head; a wry smile emerging onto her face. Her ears flicked forward while he explained out about creating another core. She sat there quietly and looked down at her hands frowning slightly. So by looking to create life he had found something that wouldn't help her, but others instead? That was how things went ussually; look for one thing but find another.
".....Well it's good you've found something out of it, but yes.. that doesn't really help me."
She'd wave her hand dismissively with a small smile on her face and paused when it came to the 'loaded cores' or the 'spirit totems'. She considered for a moment and glanced at her sigil before nodding slowly.
"At this point? I would be willing to. But what do you mean Loaded cores? Spirit totems? Like the things that humans use right? What do you have in mind?"
She tilted her head, blinking owlishly. To find a spirit totem would be beyond rare, she had heard after all that most of them had a human in mind or called upon them at some point. She'd have to find a suitably strong one that was of the family Data to do so. K frowned after a few moments and clasped her hands in front of her.
"I don't think Jesmon would argue, hell if I had picked Examon.. they likely would feel the same."

Well, Vaccine was off the table. From K's experience in just barely missing GraceNovamon in her own mind, the Mikemon couldn't blame her. Hearing about the other two cores, the cat gave a small chuckle. "Well, sounds like you've taken somewhat of a liking to the two of them." It was convenient that Jesmon and Examon would accept either result.
Honestly, it sounded like K had made a lot more progress on this than the cat managed to! But what the doctor heard next made his ear twitch, his whiskers flickering in the dry hospital air. K would be willing to take another Digimon's data for this? "Well, let's not get ahead of ourselves. Its not like such a Data type would be easy to come across, much less overcome, but..."
Right. Just what did the cat have in mind? "Yes, the totems are the items spirit users use to evolve. They're also ancient relics of powerful Digimon, usually each with a history of their own. Its uncommon to find one without a device, and if you're looking for a specific type and level, that lowers the field a lot more."
But then why bring it up? The cat sighed. "But I know where one is. As the story goes, there was once a powerful spirit that set fire to a good part of the region, before he was finally sealed away. I don't know a lot about the particular details, but..."
He sighed. "It's in the Empyrean Skies, on 'Island 8-C'. It's, well..." He closed his eyes.
"... An Empyrean prison."

"...I have yes.. I rather like the both of them. But ultimately I can only pick one. It was a hard choice to think about."
She'd chuckle softly and put a hand to her cheek, she remembered the odd touch from the Examon. It was somehow caring, and she remembered the general tone that the Jesmon had. They both wanted it to be sure; but... Who could she ultimately relate to more?
"I'm not getting ahead of myself; I'm simply saying yes I would. But would I be able to? No. No I would not."
A small shrug and she had to admit that the idea itself was problematic. She wasn't strong enough to do something like that anyways. So what was the point of giving it too much thought in that case? She found her eyes raising slightly however when he continued.
"Which absolutely makes sense in every shape and form. I wouldn't expect it to be very easy in either fashion."
She tilted her head when the Mikemon sighed, her ears flicking forward and a frown started to emerge on her face. She perked up however when he said he knew where one was; but her excitement was pushed to the side when she realized there had to be a catch.
"What was the name of the Spirit? Before he was sealed away?"
The next parts made the renamon lean back in her seat. Her eyes glued to the ceiling for a few moments. She'd snort in derision and shake her head; she'd run her hands through her fur and sigh softly.
"An Empyrean prison, that sounds like it's going to be a load of trouble but it also is likely the only shot I have in finding an inert core of any kind."
She gazed down at her hands, the frown coming back.
"....Island 8-C huh? Got a map of where it is by chance?"

Well, with overcoming a Super Mega out of the question and with processing a core out of scrap data being nothing more than a pipe dream, the pair's ideas quickly dwindled down to one. To the Renamon's remark on the challenge, the Mikemon chuckled. "Except in this case, it would be down to blind luck if I didn't already have something in mind."
That 'something in mind' did seem to perk K's interest, though! At that first question, the doctor's ear gave a twitch. "I'm fairly sure it was Lucemon?" Mikemon wasn't entirely sure on the species, but that was hardly the most important thing about it. Any inert core of the data element would do, after all.
The location? Well, it couldn't be helped: "Its definitely a load of trouble. The totem itself is held in an ancient ruin with its own defenses, but the entire island is a prison in itself, and not the minimum security sort. If the guards found someone trying to sneak around there, well, let's just say you won't be worrying about who wins inside your mind."
That much was enough, but as the Renamon asked for a map to the place, the cat blinked. "I can certainly draw one up, but that means you're going for it? Sheesh..." The cat scratched his head. "Well, if you do, I might as well tag along. Its definitely not something one 'mon can do, and even two is dicey..."
Really, it sounded like it would take a team effort, intel, and careful planning! Just where would they find all that, though?

"you're right on that I suppose. I'd have to likely go into the darker locations to find information like this, well.. Not exactly like this but you get my point."
K found herself frowning a bit and she'd rub her muzzle, she wasn't sure she liked this train of thought still. When the Mikemon mentioned that it was a Lucemon K couldn't help but tilt her head a little bit. Weren't Lucemon's just rookies? Unless he was meaning one of their later Digivolutions... It had to be something else if it was something in the tier she was looking for.
"Prison guards, Defenses... Hmm. Definitely something to think about. I'd imagine they wouldn't be too fond of finding intruders of any kind. Is there any information of what guards there are and what defenses there may be?"
K found her voice becoming hushed. She had a nervous feeling of people listening when they didn't need to. Anyone could enter in and hear the wrong thing at the wrong time.
"It's the only choice I have when it comes to sticking with my Decision. The only other option is a virus core, and lord knows how that would go."
The renamon shrugged and sighed softly; looking surprised when the Mikemon said that he should tag along. With a soft chuckle she'd lean back in her chair; looking rather thoughtful.
"Four perhaps? Or maybe five? Depends on how we'd want to go about it..."
She'd gaze at the mikemon, a frown once more coming onto her lips.
"The real question is whom would be crazy enough to help in this manner? And how would we make it worth it to them? They're not exactly going for their own neck so to speak."

Ah, right: details about the prison would have been helpful. To that end, the Mikemon gave a shrug: "There's more details available about the temple than the island itself. As far as I know, its a stone temple with traps and animated guards bent on going after any intruder. That works a little to our advantage, as that means that Empyrean guards won't enter the place unnecessarily - hm?" It was about then that the Doctor heard K's hushed tone, Mikemon giving a chuckle.
"You can relax. Empyrean law is not recognized on the surface level, and its not like Whitewater is teeming with holy zealots." With their rather ridiculous laws and long imprisonment times, the relation between the holy lands and Whitewater, or even Terminus, were quite strained. As for a virus core? "Well, I mean, in that case we would just fish in the Dark Area until we pluck one up. Of the three, its probably the easiest to find."
That aside, the issue was figuring out how to get onto this island in the first place. Seeing that frown, the Doctor bit his lips: "I would think four. Too many would just be a hassle to keep track of. Don't worry about compensation, either: I've got enough to make this sort of request. Honestly, its more a matter of who'd be willing to try out something this insane."
He had definite caution in his voice, the cat scratching his ear. "Whoever is imprisoned there, and whoever they catch, Luminas encases in crystal. That's not something that can be broken from the inside." And besides... "And then there's the risk of Lucemon itself. Spirit totems can have a habit of possessing whoever touches it first."

"That works well for us then I suppose. Though... if that truly is the case, that might make it easy to distract them."
K would lean, frowning slowly as there was many a way to use that to their advantage. If the Empyrean guards wouldn't enter their own prison and the animated guards would go after any intruder that they found.. Well. She didn't want to get into the nitty gritty of that particular but she imagined a few could be tricked somehow.
"....Fair enough, I just.. You never know who could be around."
She'd shrug a little bit looking rather exasperated. She'd look down at her hands and frown slightly at the mention of the Dark area. A location she had never been to. She didn't want to think about how a vaccine core would even be found; in fact the moment it came up in her thoughts she pushed it aside. It wasn't even worth thinking about honestly.
"I've never been to the dark area. I can only imagine how it would go. Even if it was the easiest, would it honestly be the right choice? Seeing as I had decided on Jesmon? But given if the prison venture fails... it might be the only course available to me. Of course.. only if we don't get caught."
There was a brief pause and she'd shake her head slowly.
"All right. Four would make it a small enough group to work with as well as.. making sure word didn't spread too far."
Another pause.
"There might be quite a number that would be willing Mikemon. Humans for one and digimon that care not for the Empyrean law or those that serve it."
She'd grit her teeth when the cat mentioned about what would happen if they were caught. If she was caught, or in fact if any of them were caught they would be encased in crystal! The three would be forced to wait; having to bicker and fight while the renamon would have to watch them. No matter who won, they would lose as well.
"Ugh, so we'd have to be careful with the spirit. Likely wouldn't be able to break the crystal right away.. Which means getting it out while still imprisoned properly? Or would absorbing it there be the best idea? Also you say Lucemon.. but I imagine that it couldn't be the rookie form one?"

The Dark Area, if Jesmon was still K's primary goal, was at least a decent back-up - at least, in the very rare case where they both failed to secure the totem and didn't get caught. Dr. Mikemon coughed at that thought, knowing just how unlikely that would be, but he kept that thought to himself.
It didn't take them long to decide on a four person team, and as for her next point, the cat sighed. "Though true, K, those who would be willing to break into a prison aren't consistently a good sort. We'd have to be careful to watch our backs even from our own teammates if we end up picking poorly." Sighing at that thought, the feline stretched out his arms in a light yawn. "We'll have to be calling it by ear the whole time, too. Lucemon's temple aside, I imagine getting sighted at all would result in us being overwhelmed by the prison's forces. This is definitely not my area of expertise, either."
As for the Lucemon? "You can't just load the data right there. I'd need the totem in-tact to extract and modify the core properly. If it is encased in crystal, perhaps we can just steal the whole thing, depending on the size. It would avoid us touching the artifact, anyway." At least Mikemon could think of that much, the cat giving a small smile.
"If you want, I can try and tie together some strings to get this out to the mission guild in proper... and try and make it so only those that have proven themselves before, missions or otherwise, can even look at the document. I'm not exactly liking our chances, but if it's what we have to do..."

K found her brows raising slightly and she let out a smooth sigh. The cat was right when it came to those that would likely even be okay with breaking into a prison. They wouldn't be good people; or at the very least they wouldn't be one hundred percent trustworthy. She didn't like the idea of having to watch her own back from people that they would hire.
"That's true... We have to be very careful about whom we select then. I would rather not spend who knows how long encased in crystal."
She'd grumble softly and lean forward, resting her head in her hands. She looked somewhat pensive and was wondering if this was a good idea at all. Rather, she thought over the fact. She knew that this wasn't a good idea but what choice did she have? She couldn't give up without at least trying.
"So we'll need people that are patient. Flexible. Good at being unseen. They don't need to be strong as fighting would likely just end up with us being thrown into the very prison we're trying to sneak around. Being strong would still be nice, as it could provide a distraction in one location."
She'd hum gently and sigh softly when the Cat mentioned that she couldn't load the data right there. So it was get in, get the item, get out. It made it just as hard, if not worse.
"Fair enough, so get in. Get the 'artifact' and get out. Then it'd be a matter of getting it back here..."
She'd dip her head in a small nod when Mikemon mentioned what he could do. It made sense, she didn't want it to be common knowledge that this was going to occur. Hopefully the Mission guild itself would be okay with something like this and not inform the Empyrean authorities.
"That might be for the best, the less people that know about this the better. I'm not really liking it either.. but.. What other options do I really have when it comes to getting the right core? I expect that it would be just as dangerous to get the Virus core, even if it's 'easier'."

"Unfortunately, selecting such people isn't quite that easy. We'll have to make the risks known, and trust that those at the mission guild know what they're signing up for. Thankfully, that's just a little easier than it sounds." Did they have time to personally review each applicant? Heck, did either of them even have expertise in what they were doing? If all went well, K and Mikemon would be in the back-seat as two experienced mission-goers led the charge to the temple.
But the mission itself could be described as simply as K put it. "It shouldn't be hard to commandeer a Blimpmon, or even rent a portal. Granted, portals wouldn't work inside the prison itself, but..." They had a plan, at the very least? Even now, the Mikemon sounded a touch unsure, but maybe with a few more heads around it, they could figure something out.
"That's about all I can do on that front, though. So, did you have anything else to bring up? Has that sigil, or anything else, been bothering you at all?" The Doctor's professional tone returned, as he asked about K's condition. After all, with how much she had 'progressed' in the last month, it was important to look for any more sudden changes!

"That's fine. If the dangers are known and they know what they sign up for, I don't have to worry about feeling bad if things do go south. We're going in with the full knowledge anyways. Coming back might not happen, but I'd like to think on a more positive note."
She'd sigh softly and shake her head. They really didn't have the time to finagle of those that did come in. She knew for a fact that she never did anything like this and hoped whomever that they did get knew their stuff or at least knew it enough to make a difference. Her skills weren't exactly the best when dealing with sneaking around. But lord knows she'd try.
"It also wouldn't go unnoticed, if We can get a portal working to get us outside the portal for the start that'd likely be the best. Then have it open up once we get out? Since some of the guards may not be automated..."
K was able to pick up on the hesitance of the other; getting a small smile she'd gently pat the mikemon's shoulder. She wished she could thank him proper for even helping in the slightest with all this. She wasn't sure how everything was going to go honestly.
When he inquired about other things and then even mentioned the sigil along with anything else that may be bothering her. She'd look down at the sigil and frown slightly.
"The sigil so far even as it's on each form in a different locale hasn't bothered me much. My migraines have completely vanished, but since I'm no where strong enough to become super mega I don't think they'll come back for some time. Some of my other forms feel a little.. 'off' but not in a bad way. Like..."
She'd lean forward, placing her elbows on the table and clasping her hands together in front of her head.
"I can tell that Examon's influence isn't as powerful as it was before; any form that they would have influence on.. I feel a distinct sadness? It could be that she's sad with my choice and... well. With any form that GraceNovamon had influence on feels weak. I think she's mad with me, but thus far it's just a feeling not an actual difference. I have noticed though, that anything to do with Shutmon's blades and Saberk are a tad.. different? The latter of the two doesn't feel as draining and well...
She'd hesitate before tracing a finger in a line above the other. It didn't take much and the blade sprung to life in her hands. It was so closely representing one of Jesmon's blades that were it not energy it could be the real thing.
"It feels stronger. That's for certain and.. well. I feel like it's.. just. Different? I've experimented with other abilities of mine, and they all have.. something different about them. If the influence continues from Jesmon, other things about my other forms and this one feels like it could change."
