Post by Haru Toriya and Tawna on May 27, 2018 21:10:14 GMT
Despite her weaponized form, Tawna was not a mere inanimate tool... The storm of lightning generated by Kabuterimon was able to damage Tawna even in her current state, hurting quite a damn lot thanks to that prior attack from Kuwagamon still unstabilizing her own defenses. She didn't have a mouth in this state to do so, but still didn't stop her from feeling the need to want to scream.
Still, she had to give credit when it was due... this Harpymon had a DAMN good throwing arm. Leg... same thing. Point is, the avian Digimon did a good job at wielding her well when it came to putting her weapon form to good use. The axe flew forward before colliding with the tower with surprising effectiveness as they ricochet'd off the structure... the Armor Champion level's body shifting back into their metallic bestial form as they flipped onto the air, aiming the bladed end of their body downward into the damaged side of the tower. "Deadly Tomahawk!"
Axemon was hurled by Wren with Deadly Tomahawk, Axemon shifting back into her normal form to follow up with her regular variant of the attack on the tower.
Deadly Tomahawk - Axemon drops down onto foes ala a guillotine, dealing increased damage to low health targets, though this attack requires her to be in the air. In Weapon form, this attack instead has the wielder chucking Axemon in her weapon state at a foe to attack from a distance with the same execution style effect, ricocheting upward on successful hits, allowing her to immediately follow up with the regular variant of the attack as she shifts back into her normal form if she chooses independent of the regular cooldown. (Cooldown: 4 Turns)
Durations: Buzzing Resonance DEF down - ends next turn
Cooldowns: Aqua Rage - Waiting Deadly Tomahawk - 4 turns

The constant barrage that this group had managed on the Kuwagamon was certainly something that would bring fruit. They just had to keep pushing and pushing here. With Koemon and Luke jumping in as well made the pressure just a tad greater than what she expected.
She wasn't expecting the sudden change in targets with Kuwagamon but she didn't really have the time to react to the creatures desire to attack one of her allies. The kabuterimon's attack not only hit the harpymon but it wasn't something she could really dodge on her own either. She'd let out an exasperated grunt of pain as she felt her body slowing down a bit.
She'd growl in irritation and follow up by summoning her three orbs of fire; she'd maybe pause for a moment before throwing the orbs at the Kuwagamon's ring once more. If they broke this they could focus on the Kabuterimon afterwards while Tawna and hopefully that harpy dealt with the tower.
Battle Log: -K has been struck by Kabuterimon's attack reducing her speed slightly. -K uses Fox-fire to attack Kuwagamon's ring
Attack: Fox-Fire: Summoning up three orbs of fire, this digimon may target up to three opponents. Each fox fire deals a decent amount of damage and can ignite flammable objects.

Smamemon found himself in quite the pinch. They stared at their glove, a single bead of sweat forming on their head, "huh. Thought that'd be enough." He remarked, staring at the smoking socket where his red boxing glove once lay. That was his special attack, he could have sworn it packed a better punch than that. "That's annoying, I was weaker than I thought." Smamemon realized, returning his gaze towards the massive insectoid. It looks like it was aiming an especially powerful attack his way, for his trouble. At least that was cool way to go, but he felt he should have been defeated by something a bit more impressive.
As Smamemon sat there, trying to push himself, before falling over, lacking his glove severely diminished his mobility, as now he was completely off balance, and getting out of the way in time looked like it was impossible. Suddenly, a steady rustling noise could be heard, probably only by Smamemon, in all the chaos. Out of nowhere, flew Nelson. He scooped Smamemon in one arm, as he leaped over his partner. Running only on adrenaline and instinct, the human had rushed out of hiding the moment Smamemon had dropped, helpless to the ground. He made it just in time, thankfully, but Kuwagamon's tearing incisors ripped into the earth, throwing soil and stones everywhere, from the impact. What didn't help matters was the fact that Nelson was completely off-balance as he desperately brought one of his feet on the ground, and he hopped consecutively, before being pitched face-forward, as the earth beneath him was stripped away and a stray lightning bolt struck the two of them.
He dropped Smamemon in the fall, as he bounced off of the dirt, and rolled without control for a moment. Smamemon rolled, stunned, from both the experience of being shocked, as well as the fact he remained in one piece, he glanced at his human, who was still rolling, but covering his face, and was rolling solely out of physical pain now. Smamemon tilted his head, it didn't look like he was hurt that bad, "Stop overreacting and get out of here." He basically ordered, trying to stand himself, but noticing his body not moving as much as he'd like, though it wasn't really an issue for a brawler like him. What mattered was he could still fight, although his human partner clearly couldn't, and just like that, he made a decision. That bug would have to get through Smamemon before they could reach the kid. They figured it was the very least they could do.

The effects of the Electro Storm and Buzzing Resonance were doing a number on Luke and Bellamy. Both armor levels were panting from the exertion, their ears hurting from the buzzing, their muscles sore from the electricity. But they still hung in there, they'd taken worse, they'd get through this for Colin's sake. K's attack was the straw that broke the camel's back (or ring in this case). As her attack struck, the black device shattered and fell from Kuwagamon's neck, causing him to glow with light and shrink, screeching all the while, his roar becoming softer and softer until he was a simple small light green bug, no more than 2 feet in length. His head swayed a bit from dizziness as though he didn't know what was going on. "Looks like that's one down!" Tentomon called cheerfully, even if he was also messed up by the double area-of-effect attacks. "But... oh no..."With Kuwagamon's ring broken, the control spire seemed to glow with an eerie teal light, its intensity strongest at the top. It then launched a swift arrow of light down at Kabuterimon's ring, causing him to glow a teal color too. "What the hell?!" Bellamy swore. "Is it... powering him up?!"Whatever it was, it didn't seem good. Luke meanwhile took a look at his comrades, and it seemed that the little Mamemon was worst off, having been badly hurt by Kuwagamon's previous attack. He looked at his brother. "Smamemon looks like he needs help, Bells!"The BlackGatomon could see this, and so he immediately rushed to the metal rookie. "Here, kid, I'll get you right in a little bit" he said, his tail ring glowing, then he raised his paws. "Alleviate Pain!" he said, casting a healing spell over the digimon. Hopefully this would be able to get the little bomber back in working order. Luke and Koemon meanwhile turned their sights to the remaining guardian. They'd do their best to keep him off the backs of the tower team. And so Koemon launched his familiar Pachinko ball, while Luke would get up close and personal with the bug monster, launching a Moon Night Kick attack.
Tentomon, meanwhile, launched his normal attack on the black tower, hoping to fell it soon.
As Axemon struck the tower, Kabuterimon, his ring programmed to continue as before, launched an Electro Shocker straight at her.
Tentomon uses Super Shocker on the Control Spire.
Super Shocker - Casts a thunderbolt of electricity generated from his wings to strike a target.Koemon uses Y to the X on Kabuterimon's Dark Ring.
Y to the X - Koemon fires a pachinko ball with enhanced accuracy from his slingshot.Luke uses Moon Night Kick on Kabuterimon's Dark Ring.

"Ow...." Wren moaned out from where she'd crashed hard into the tree. Leveraging herself up among the branches she carefully flexed her wings finding herself bruised, but thankfully with no broken bones. The same could not be said for Kuwagamon as it's dark ring finally gave up the ghost leaving behind a disorientated and confused rookie Digimon. One caught right in the midst of a rampaging fight at that and more then a little likely to get stepped on.
"...Curse my bleedin heart." The Harpymon muttered, the familiar phrase stolen from Aster even as she launched herself from the branch and into a dive. Swooping down as she extended her red claws to close around the tiny Kunemon, scooping him up before he could get trampled by his larger and still dark ring controlled counterpart.
"Hang on! I've got you!" Wren called out against the wind even as she turned spying the Dark Tower out of the corner of her eyes as the Tentomon continued to launch his attacks The Axemon's strike having earned the Kabuterimon's ire. Which while bad at least meant it was busy at the moment. Leaving Wren open to strike. Wind sharp as a knife built up at the edge of her winds and she launched it out at the damaged section of the tower she and the other bug Digimon had been whittling away at that was now made all the deeper for Axemon's efforts.
Hopefully with a lot of work and a little luck the black obelisk would find itself toppled soon.

Good news for them all, the others managed to finish off Kuwagamon's Dark Ring... which left Kabuterimon as the sole threat now. However, this still left another threat for them to all have to worry about... specifically an empowered Kabuterimon.
That was mild cause for alarm... While there was now only 1 foe left, the remaining foe was more dangerous than before. The Axemon was more interested however in the tower that was left... compared to Kabuterimon, the tower had taken more damage it seems. In theory, destroying that should solve the entirety of their problems right here. The metallic beast Digimon's body clanked loudly as they landed on the ground from their attack, though unfortunately was now the target of Kabuterimon's wrath as they launched an electrically-charged sphere at the Armor Champion level. The Axemon briefly panicked, but was able to roll out of the way of the blast fortunately due to getting enough of a warning from the attack.
"Aim for the tower! It's almost destroyed!" she called out to the others, making another rush towards the tower to strike it once more with her sharp points. "Air Slicer!"
Tawna evaded the Electro Shocker and is attacking with Air Slicer.
Air Slicer - Axemon makes a lightning-speed dash towards her foe to slash at them with her body. In weapon form, Air Slicer becomes a fast 180° to 360° swipe with the blade to attack all foes directly in front or behind of the wielder.

Smamemon stared at his fist, as a bright red thing poked through the socket where his fist once lay, and a second later, a new boxing glove popped into place, "finally." Smamemon said, glancing up, "hm? Where's scissor-face?" He asked, placing a glove thoughtfully on his chin, before he was bathed in a warm feeling, and turned towards the cat, which was healing him. Smamemon stared, blankly until Bellamy had finished his process, before he slammed his fists together, "Look after this dummy here, okay?" He asked, gesturing towards Nelson, who was tucked, trying to process the damage and implications from being struck by actual lightning.
Smamemon glanced up at Kabuterimon, clenching his fist, "So that's the guy who took potshots at me and my general, huh?" He asked, his cold fury awakening once more, as he tensed up his arm muscles, making them bulge, slightly, as a vein seemed to pop on his round head, "I'll break 'im." He stated, raising his fists and slamming into the ground, launching himself at Kabuterimon, aiming a volley of red fists his way, striking at the insectoid with fierce fervor. This thing was annoying him, and it hurt the human, who obviously couldn't defend himself, hornhead could power up as much he liked, he was still gonna be punched. A lot.

K had to admit that she was somewhat surprised to see that when one fell that the other got a power up from it. She really should of expected something like this; the tower would have more energy to work with and likely would be able to put more into it's remaining guardian. If these things worked anything like a digimon did that would only make sense.
The Kuwagamon de-digivolved to a lower form; looking confused and out of it. Thankfully the harpymon snatched up the Kunemon as it likely would of gotten hurt from the fight itself. The call out from the Aexmon made the renamon's ear flick a few times before glancing at the tower. It was almost down? They could tell? She would just have to trust them on this as she didn't know how durable these things were.
The initial plan was somewhat out the window of course; but that's just how fights were. With a grunt the renamon would back off a little bit a familiar looking trio of fireballs appearing in her hand. A moment later they would be soaring against not the Kabuterimon but against the tower. If they could break that while also dodging around the Kabuterimon they would have it easy and with so many attacking the control spire it was unlikely that it'd stand for too much longer.
-K launches Fox fire at the tower -K moves back a little bit to give herself distance from the Kabuterimon.

OOC: The humans weren't targeted in Kabuterimon's previous AoE attack, just letting you know.
Kunemon seemed to awaken from his daze as he was scooped up by the Harpymon. He then realized with a start what was happening and what had happened. Just a few moments ago he was attacking these other digimon, and so many others too. He hadn't been able to stop himself, every time he had tried he had felt a pain on his neck and by the time he had recovered consciousness there was an injured digimon nearby limping away.
This wasn't what he was like. He just wanted a peaceful life, but, it had all seemingly ended when the ring appeared. And now... it was gone.
"I'm sorry... thank you" he whimpered.
What followed was an all out assault on the Control Spire. Only Smamemon attacked the guardian digimon. Attack after attack landed on the black obelisk, by this time chunks of it were falling to the ground as gravel.
"Super Shocker!" Tentomon cried, striking it with his usual reliable thunderbolt.
"Sling Shaped Shot!" Koemon shouted, aiming an explosive round at the tower instead of Kabuterimon.
"Leyden Punch!" Luke roared, his fist glowing with electricity as it struck the edifice.
"Lightning Paw!" Bellamy snarled, aiming a strong physical punch at the structure. This was followed by attacks from Axemon after deftly evading Kabuterimon's wrath, K and Harpymon. It looked like another strike from the lot of them like that would finally collapse it. However, something seemed wrong this time.
The control spire... seemed to be glowing stronger. Blue symbols in digimoji shone along its sides. Luke and Bellamy instinctively turned to Kabuterimon to expect his wrath for attacking the thing he was guarding, but the retribution did not come from his direction.
Instead, the tip of the dark tower began to pulse with wave upon wave of black energy. And every wave made the armor level twins scream with agony. They tried their best to resist, but the pain was enough to make them fall to the ground in agony, screaming wordlessly.
What... what was this?! Tentomon and Koemon braced themselves for the pain, but it was less for them. Yes they felt like they had the wind knocked out of them for a moment, but they could still move, not like the armored twins.
And Colin... he felt something akin to being punched in the stomach from the energy, but not enough to nearly paralyze him from pain like his partners were experiencing. "What... the hell is going on?!" he asked with bewilderment.
A similar effect would be being felt by the others in the vicinity. Still though, Bellamy forced himself back to his feet, trying to ignore sheer pain that felt like he was on fire. "Keep it up! It's almost down!" the Hunter of Tenacity said, even though he was hurting so much he felt like he might fall down to his in-training form in less than a minute.
Tentomon uses Super Shocker on the Control Spire.
Super Shocker - Casts a thunderbolt of electricity generated from his wings to strike a target.
Koemon uses Sling Shaped Shot on the Control Spire.
Sling Shaped Shot - Koemon arms his slingshot with a shaped projectile that explodes upon impact, piercing through armor up to the Champion level. [Cooldown: 1 turn].
Luke uses Leyden Punch on the Control Spire.
Leyden Punch - Focuses electricity into his clenched fist, then runs at the opponent and punches them, creating an electric discharge if it connects.
Bellamy uses Lightning Paw on the Control Spire.
Lightning Paw - Lunges at his opponent with his claw at high speed, aiming a powerful punch at them.
Luke, Bellamy and Tentomon are afflicted with the effects of Electro Storm.
Luke and Bellamy are brought down to critical HP by the Control Spire's auto defense. Tentomon and Koemon are afflicted with pain, but not as badly. Colin is struck with pain.
Control Spire 9 Rookie Attacks 5.5 Armor Attacks 0 Champion Attacks
The Control Spire's Passive Ability Activates!
Auto Defense: Black Digicite Pulse - This effect activates when the tower's HP falls below 25%. It emits a pulse of energy that deals proportional damage to all Armor level digimon within its boundary, bringing them down to critical HP, while Rookies get only half of that damage. This effect may only be used once per battle, and on the turn it is used, the digimon under its control do not attack. Humans in the vicinity meanwhile get something of a wave of pain, but nothing crippling. Cannot be avoided.
Kabuterimon 4 Rookie Attacks 2.25 Armor Attacks 0.75 Champion Attacks
Kabuterimon's Passive Ability is Active.
Ring Concentration - If Kuwagamon's dark ring is broken, the energy from the Control Spire becomes concentrated on Kabuterimon, increasing his Attack and the ring's Defense by 30%
Kabuterimon is unable to attack this turn due to the Control Spire's temporary outage.

"It's fine! Don't worry about it! You couldn't help it!" Wren assures the Kunemon as she circles the tower beating her wings to gain some much needed altitude and hopefully take them out of striking range of the still angry Kabuterimon. The threat this time though doesn't come from the ringed bug digimon, but the tower itself. The dark wave knocking into Harpymon leaving her feeling as though she'd just been kicked in the chest. Leaving her panting as the wind was knocked from her lungs her wing beats stuttering causing her to drop slightly before she regained control with a strangled gasp.
"That is it! I am done with this stupid tower!" The Harpymon snarls as she activates one of her data chips. Feeling the build up of power in the back of her throat from the attack chip she opens her mouth firing out a blast of energy right at the injured base of the structure. Hopefully sending it toppling down in short order.

Incredible progress was being made against the control spire, the damn thing looking like it was just about to fall apart any minute now. This would have been a welcome sight were it not for the monument attempting something... extremely shady. The control spire had been idle for the majority of the fight, though now it seemed that streak was going to end. The pain the Axemon was suddenly afflicted with was horrific, the metallic Digimon flinching heavily as they let out a vile screech as the waves heavily damaged their form... bits and chunks of their armored form's textures peeling off.
Haru while had been in the sidelines of the fight far away from the heat of combat... but damn if she didn't feel that one. The hell were those waves just now...? Regardless of whatever pain she just felt, it couldn't have been comparable to what the Digimon were feeling... They all must have been in a serious bind, though Kabuterimon was also partially-stunned it seemed. "T-Tawna!" the girl called out to her partner, a look of panic on their face...
Tawna was struggling to stand back up, though at the same time she saw that an opening was available here... It really was now or never. Face deletion, or destroy this damned tower for good. While somewhat slower from the damage she had taken, the Axemon rushed towards the control spire one last time in an attempt to demolish it with her sharp body.
Tawna had taken severe damage from the Black Digicite Pulse, she managing to launch one last Air Slicer at the tower.
Air Slicer - Axemon makes a lightning-speed dash towards her foe to slash at them with her body. In weapon form, Air Slicer becomes a fast 180° to 360° swipe with the blade to attack all foes directly in front or behind of the wielder.

More and more attacks slammed home into the tower, more and more did they chip away at this structure that no one seemed to know anything about other than what occured around them. The glowing of the tower only made the renamon back up further, assessing the situation a little bit.
Though when the pulsing black energy and the waves that followed suit made her gut wrench and the renamon found herself grunting in pain from it. It wasn't as extreme as what seemed to be happening to the armor evolutions but it certainly wasn't a nice sensation. It would be something to note for later; something she could inform others about and help them make proper decisions based on it. She knew after this she likely was going to have to provide some healing in case of additional threats...
Planning to perfection and being able to improvise were two whole separate skills that would benefit greatly here. Spreading her posture a bit the renamon summoned three more orbs of fire and with a snarl she'd target the tower again making sure to aim in a location that the physical fighters couldn't naturally reach without some help. As it seemed like none of them could really fly past the harpymon.
She just hoped that this tower would fall soon.
-K launches another Fox Fire At the tower. -K took some damage from the pulse but was able to walk it off.

What's this? No response to Smamemon's consecutive blows? Was this thing TRYING to bother him? A singular vein popped in Smamemon's dome, indicating boiling rage. Everyone else was getting their jollies from attacking that stupid pillar, but Smamemon and Kabuterimon were one-on-one, and the thing refused to acknowledge his presence!? That, to put it simply, wouldn't do. Smamemon clenched his gloves tightly, about to leap once more, but a burst of pain erupted within, making them stagger. What was that supposed to be? The bug didn't make a move, so... Smamemon shot a glance at the tower, and spotted the others reeling away from the tower.
Smamemon regained their footing by rooting their fists into the ground. Some unknown burst of energy like that won't stop them, not even close. With a newfound burst of fury, Smamemon slammed their fists into the ground, rocketing them into the sky, their round body allowing several aerial spins before Smamemon fell back down, slamming a headbutt directly onto the same target that their punches had just assailed, and was ignored. A blow filled with rage, but by no means the end of Smamemon's minute, condensed rage. Nelson stopped rolling, for a moment, realizing he wasn't actually that hurt, even after that latest surge of pain, by opening his eyes, he realized how he had really been overreacting, and, deeply blushing, he got up and ran back to the foliage, at full speed.
Ability Used: Grinning Rocket (Jumps high, before slamming down with a headbutt/tackle, deals moderate damage, no cooldown)
Cooldowns: Beaming Barrage 1/2
Smamemon was damaged, slightly by the burst, but resumed his offensive against Kabuterimon.

From the last wave of attacks, the base of the Control Spire finally cracked, fractured, and finally failed, sending the whole glowing dark tower down on a long, accelerating collapse. When it hit the jungle ground, the ground shook from the massive collision, the structure crumbling further from the impact.
Furthermore, with the tower down, Kabuterimon's dark ring also cracked and shattered, so that when Smamemon punched it, it broke completely, the insect then glowed and shrunk, de-digivolving to a similar little green bug to the other - a Dokunemon, who also seemed confused about what had just happened.
"We did it!" Tentomon cheered. The sealing effect evaporated over everyone, spreading relief to the whole group in that they were no longer suppressed. Colin rushed out to the clearing once he thought it was safe, as did Koemon. Colin went straight to his partners, who were both down to their knees, panting.
"Are you two okay?" he asked them with concern.
"Might... need a moment" Bellamy answered, then his evolution finally ended. He didn't de-digivolve all the way to In-Training as he had feared, but still, he looked like he could barely stand. Luke was no better.
"That power just now... what the heck was it?" Luke wondered, looking at the ruined tower. He had never heard of one doing that before. Then, all of a sudden, new voices joined them - one deep and threatening, the other stern and cold.
"Ah, it seems they've taken down another tower" said the stern female voice. "No matter, yet another prototype".
"Who are you?!" Bellamy snapped in its direction. It was coming from the broken tower base itself. It seemed there was something inside it... some kind of glowing blue orb. And rising from it... seemed to be two transparent figures. Holograms. One was a fierce looking monkey digimon holding a staff, the other a humanoid feminine digimon dressed in robes and scarves. It seemed that they were finally communicating with those behind these control spires.
"You'll know in due course, Impmon" the monkey digimon said in a growl.
"By the way, thank you all for allowing us to test the defenses of the next generation of Control Spires" the humanoid digimon said. "The towers' weakness up until now was that they cannot seal armor evolutions. However, it seems with our modifications, they are now able to better defend themselves from armor levels. Did you enjoy experiencing its effect?"
"You bastards, you'll pay for that!" Colin snapped at them. He had never heard his partners yell like that. Indeed, Luke and Bellamy had never experienced pain as bad as that before, not in this life anyway. And Colin hated that it seemed to be caused by these cowards.
"Perhaps, but at least you'll do well to remember that pain next time you attempt to destroy our towers" said the monkey digimon slyly. "Of course, your better option would be to leave this world and never return".
Colin didn't know what to say to that. He looked around at the others, wondering what they had to say to these mysterious figures.
Control Spire 11 Rookie Attacks 6.5 Armor Attacks 0 Champion Attacks
The Control Spire is broken and collapses, ending its effect.
Kabuterimon's Dark Ring is no longer active and breaks off, he de-digivolves to Dokunemon.
Dokunemon is no longer hostile. Combat ends.

It wasn't an easy fight... It damn well wasn't in Tawna's eyes, she practically forced to keel over from exhaustion as the tower soon crumbled before them. The Axemon man coughed painfully as they tipped over, the data from the Digimental that infused their body springing all the way back to Haru's Digivice all the way back in cover as they degenerated... leaving behind a small spherical yellow cat.
Haru was pretty quick to follow Colin, rushing to her own weakened partner as she scooped the small cat... Actually a bit surprised to see this form, it being the first time she had ever seen them in a stage below Rookie level. Still... even if it was not a form they liked, they were now incredibly vulnerable and had to be protected. At the same time though, they actually ALL managed to do it... That tower was now toast! "I... I'm glad you are okay Tawna..." she softly spoke, holding the Nyaromon close to her as she hugged them.
"... I already miss my limbs." the small cat squeaked somewhat dejectedly, they staying close in the girl's arms. The adrenaline of combat and power was already fading, but the worst was at least over.
Or at least it was supposed to be over.
Haru flinched at the sudden appearance of the holograms of two Digimon... incredibly jerkish ones at that. The girl was usually pretty understanding of most people, but these two certainly were just a bag of dicks weren't they? So these two were the jerks who made that awful tower and enslaved those poor bug Digimon? Normally she could tolerate jerkish individuals... but these two Digimon "And what? Let you torment more Digimon with those awful towers? You guys are a damn bunch of bigots if you think I'd stand to let that happen!" The gogglehead defiantly spoke back, a rare emotion of anger on her face (her partner growling slightly in their arms alongside them).
What an awful prospect... She couldn't imagine more of these towers! What if one popped up in a place like Terminus City? The sheer thought of it was awful to imagine!
