"A restaurant that shuts down every two months doesn't sound like a very practical business strategy. Couldn't they have a basic menu then have a revolving specialty menu with different themes?" He asked. "But it's great to hear. Any idea where Lilly's gonna go next? ...They probably won't remember me, but it's worth seeing them again." He smiled as Vetina's pasta came over along with his lasagna. A large plate of spaghetti covered with fresh tomato sauce and five plump meatballs sprinkled atop with a few more presumably hidden under the noodles, the waiter asked if she wanted cheese on it. Yaku looked down at his piece of lasagna, a large piece of layered noodles, cheese, red sauce, and vegetables with some powdered cheese sprinkled on top. He smiled brightly, a fancy dinner was a nice change of pace after cup noodles in his one-room apartment.

"Well, you see, they change it every so often because it does boost business. Get digimon to come in here and try out authentic human world cuisine from Italy, but do it quick because you only have a short window of opportunity to do so."
As Betty nibbled on her salad, Vetina got her food as well. Perhaps this was due to this situation, sitting by her two best friends of either world, that she hummed a little bit, twirling her fork into the spaghetti before taking a bite from it.
"MMmm! Well, my hopes that the quality and the business are heavy and weigh equally. "
"You don't want cheese I assume?"
With an embarrassed snicker, having so quickly forgotten the waiter asking her about it, she merely waved him off.
"A-anyway, Lilly would not deign to lose a face that piques her, even a pence. As for her touring, dates and places can be procured beforehand."
"Yeah, if you ever seen a goo looking guy there, he has this online podcast thing and he updates listeners on when and where Lilly and the others are heading off to. If we get the chance I'll show you how to get to it. Unless you want Vetina to botch your directions."
"I... nay, I'll concede defeat, your point pierces my head."

"Podcast? There's an internet in the digital world? He asked, confused. He carefully began to cut off a piece of his meal. "Because uh, phones and computers don't usually... work in the digital world, I've found. Mostly because you can't access data from within data, I guess?" He actually had no idea, maybe there was an EMP field or something he never learned about, he just seemed to accept that only digivices and that thing he got from DATS worked here. Which reminded him.
"Any uh... you hear anything about DATS?" He segued as subtly as a truck through a dividing wall. "Because they transferred me to a subsidiary. It's um... mostly about keeping Digimon from entering the human world without proper credentials... by that I mean just a holosuit, really. Still really small, run by a few... Amateurs or rookies sounds mean, I don't want to discredit them, they really do good work but I just feel that out of the lot of them I'm the veteran, so to speak. It's kind of... well, just odd in general since the entire thing is very hush hush and not properly government funded... I've talked to them about starting up a charity service in the digital world but they probably need to do some paperwork through the proper channels and... point is, have you heard anything about DATS? They broke contact with me after I returned Astamon."

"Tech is a speed Betty runs swifter in."
"Kinda sorta. It's not really too hard to figure out..."
Afterwards Yaku started his spiel over his experience with DATS. About his experiences with his said-to-be underskilled co-workers in his said-to-be underfunded workplace that could use charity were it not for their hypothesized-to-be overbureaucratic processes. However all this was just to ask them if either of them heard about DATS.
"No." "No."
"Neither of us really had to deal with DATS. Of course we've heard about them but we don't visit the human world that often. Either Vetina goes by herself or I borrow her holosuit and she puts on makeup."
"Aye, I can craft a convincing facade, but a removal of a couple hurdles could be done with the procurement of a second holosuit."

"Are you wearing makeup now? You look really nice." He said without thinking. He then paused at the realization that what he just said could very easily be interpreted as flirting, but he mentally restrained himself. Vetina was smarter than that, no way she'd misinterpret a friendly compliment. The news on DATS saddened him though, he was really hoping the organization had just moved to the digital world and he just never got the memo. Once again big business had stepped all over him. Well, big government, but same difference.
"Why don't you guys tell me more about what you've been up to, I've jst been talking your ear off." He continued into his lasagna in silence, deciding to let them talk for a while.

"Eh? N-no. My visage is natural til I naturally wish to be unnatural. "
Vetina rubbed her face a bit... maybe she did have a bit of anything on her. She hadn't put some on in a long while but perhaps she had on something that could be misconstrued as makeup.
"Anyway, uh... the Hylden happenings are a bodily sore that has rubbed me raw. Bits are fine to touch, but other still are degrees of hurt.
But my theft? A mere... side story. The star, a nasty nasty, a filthy filth of a digimon. His motive involved Whitewater's leader and I happened as a mistaken crack to take note of.
...
Betty?"
"Sure I'll see if they have ice cream in a bit."

"Gelato." Yaku corrected. "In Italy they have gelato, not ice cream. It's richer and more ice-like than Ice cream." He took another bite of his lasagna, nodding happily. "Well, I'm trying to think..." He sighed, unsure what to talk about next. The girls similarly seemed to be out of steam. "You see any good movies, read any good books?" He asked, trying to branch out. "I read this interesting one about a young digimon who dreamed about visiting the human world and once he got there... he got hit by a car and spent the rest of his life in the Digital World Hospital." He said, taking a sip of the wine. "Probably the saddest one I've read my whole life..." He sighed. "Did see a "cartoon" movie about some kid who accidentally gets a bunch of aliens to kidnap all the adults in town. That's what they call anime in America, apparently; cartoons... funny thing, cars weren't very important in the story at all."

"Gelato... into the mental piggy bank for later ideal spending."
Yaku had changed the subject again, this time visual entertainment. He talked about a book and a cartoon. Vetina scratched her head upon hearing about the book, a bit confused.
"It's a bit out my grasp. The automobile impacted with such a force that it rent a portal from the Human world to a waning life of hospice here?"
"Anyways... Vetina isn't much of a book reader. But she'll talk your ear off about botany... and then grow you a new one.
Also I wonder if Lezard left a scathing book review for tha-
Wait, CAR-toon? Was... that that an attempt at a joke? You said it so straight faced."
"Tune? A recent wave of automotive music humans recently invented?"

"No, no, the car broke its holosuit so he was taken back to the digital world." Yaku explained. "It didn't really have any point to it. I guess it's just one of those books that're supposed to be sad?" He took another bite of his ever-shrinking meal. "I mean, she is a plant after all. It's only natural she'd know a lot about them. No offense."
"That's what they call it in Europe and America. Cartoons. It's just like what we have but different. More uh, comedies really. I think a lot of them are for kids but then there's one or two that have swears and... I dunno. Sometimes they're drawn, sometimes they're in 3D, sometimes they're just clay or action figures, it's weird. And no, they don't always involve cars. I mean, some do, but most of them are just uh... children having adventure or people in spooky houses and castles or a cat and a mouse fighting. Sometimes they speak english, sometimes they don't talk at all, some times they're really realistic and other times they just look like doodles. I just don't get it."
