So, Mihai wasn't really angry as he looked at the dating app on his brother's phone. Both his sister and brother having signed him up without his knowledge. Rather it made him wonder if they were worried about him being lonely or if they wanted a mother figure. Though an eighteen-year-old would probably be more like an older sister than a mother. A valentine's day date and he had no idea what to do. He had the day off luckily which is probably why they planned it for today. Five o'clock and they set the date for seven so he had a few hours to prepare and head to the location. He wished he had just a bit more notice though. He had a couple good suits so that was fine but he had no idea what to say and not to mention everything they chatted with her about that he should know. "Don't over think it you'll be fine," his sister started to push him towards the back of their apartment. His brother quickly snatching his phone back as he turned to stop her. "Take a shower, some cologne, a suit and you're golden not a single girl wouldn't fall for you."
"Says my sister," Mihai sighed patting her head. "All right, all right. It would be rude to stand her up on valentine's day anyway. You two need to notify me a week ahead of time next time though. I'm not sure I can take surprises like this." "Don't be an old man," his brother grunted hopping over the back of the couch and laying on the cushions. His part in this done. He wasn't that old. Mihai just shook his head and headed back for a shower. His mind wandering to what he should get her for a gift. It would be rude to show up empty-handed. The stores had been advertising chocolate a lot and he wasn't sure there was any girl who didn't love sweets. Ioana was in her usual place slightly amused by the antics of today. Her tamer on a date that would be kind of fun to watch. Like one of those rom-coms his sister watches from time to time. He's a bit stupid and a clutz in her book she'd just love to watch him mess this up. Still, she'd have to stay here and babysit the brats. She definitely wouldn't be allowed in some fancy restaurant. Not that she particularly wanted to go for anything but the food. The idea of being talked about like a dog or treated like one out in the world an unpleasant one. They needed to rectify the idea of her using a leash pronto. One shower, shave check and suit later Mihai came out still a bit unsure. Maybe a tie or bowtie... this wasn't business but a date. Right, just be casual, courteous, and stay away from morbid humor. When was the last time he actually went out with someone for a date? He's only had a few between his family and the military now that he thinks about it. "Sent you the chat log,"his brother said not looking up from his phone. "Good," Mihai responded grabbing his phone off the counter. He pondered actually reading it or not though. He was planning to be straightforward about the fact his sister being the one to suggest it after all. He didn't want her to feel like she knew nothing about him and him everything about her. He pondered it a long moment before deciding against it. "Right I'm going. Be good, no wild parties while I'm gone," he said pecking each sibling on the head. He headed for the door then turned around briefly. "About din-" "We got microwavable stuff in the freezer, leftovers in the fridge and we can always make sandwiches. Just go," his sister shooed him on. "Right," he grunted in response. The door clicking behind him as he headed to his car. Gift first. The engine started and he began making his way downtown. Stopping briefly at the store to buy a box of chocolates. Which he pondered for a couple minutes. He finally figured a heart-shaped box wouldn't be the best idea for a first date. They didn't actually love one another, yet. He did kind of hope about her though he wasn't expecting a whole lot. She was still young and he was stuck raising his siblings. He would totally understand not wanting such responsibility. Still, friendship was a possibility and his sister could use an older girl as a role model. If nothing else he hoped they could get along. So eagerness and nervousness weren't much of a gifted horse. He bet his siblings were chuckling about now as he arrived almost a half-hour early. This is what happens when they spring things on him. He still couldn't help but smile as he sat in his car waiting. His mind wandering a bit to Ioana. He wondered if she dated any. He could honestly imagine most those dates ending with a bite mark. She wasn't exactly the romantic type after all. Knowing her she'll end up with a digimon who can actually match her bite for bite or someone she could boss around. He could see either really. Ten til, that was a decent enough time. Better early than late as they always say. He stepped out of the car and headed inside. A yakiniku restaurant, a nice pick in his mind. Though he suddenly felt the chocolates were a bad idea and would melt with so much fire. He ran them back out to the car quickly. He'd give it to her when the date was over. A thank you for putting up with him he supposed. "Two," he said in his heavy accent when the waiter asked him how many. He was escorted to a small table with a grill in the middle. The team already working to add the charcoal and get everything set up. He looked at the door a bit eagerly hoping to make a decent impression.

"Mai-Mai," a soft voice cooed, while the black haired girl draped herself over the back of the couch, slowly applying weight onto the blonde's shoulders. "You wouldn't happen to have a dress I could borrow, would you?" After surprising her friend with a visit, all the way from Illinois, Cerise wasn't even planning on spending the day with her!
Not that Maia honestly minded at the moment. It was a pain to try to keep Kuu in his holosuit at home. And, more of a pain to be restricted only to the human world. "Why do you need a dress?" There was a short pause, before adding, "Why do you think I have dresses?" It wasn't like the Digital World was the best place to frolic about in a sundress! Maia wasn't going to have any of that! Especially when she was frequently riding on a Reppamon's back, or being dragged through the skies!
Lower lip puckered, as Cerise slid herself over the couch, falling into an empty space alongside her host. "I thought you had a boyfriend. Don't you dress up for him?"
"No."
The flat answer made the teen cringe, shuffling upright. "Are you two fighting?"
"No."
"Did you--"
"No."
Hello, brick wall. What a nice conversation we're having.
Letting out a small sigh, the black haired girl threw a concerned glance at her friend. "Mai," she began, as she rose to her feet. "You sure you're going to be okay, if I go out? If you're having issues, I don't want to leave you hanging."
After a moment of silence, the blonde looked at her friend. "It's fine. I promised Kuu I'd go for a walk with him today. We can talk when you get back. You're going to be late." Oh. Right. Maia's family had adopted some kid. That still sat as a strange thing, in Cerise's mind.
"It'll go faster if you lend me a dress," the young woman chimed, with a half-grin. Maia might try to pretend that she didn't have a dress to her name, but Cerise knew otherwise. Unless everything had gone in the trash when the girl had moved!
"And ruin your chance to use that black one, I saw in your bag?" Busted. "Never."
It had been worth a shot, though. "I know," the black haired teen finally relented, looking toward the staircase. "I just don't know if black dresses actually make a good impression," she admitted. Did they? Or were they too overplayed and tacky? Sure, it was a nice dress! But, Cerise liked to make a decent first impression!
To this, at least Maia was able to provide some 'encouragement.' "You met him on a dating app. How classy can he be?" Those were the wrong words! Such wrong words! And, the alarmed face that was becoming progressively more drastic, was sure to convey that! "I'm just saying. Who uses dating apps for actual dates?"
Okay, considering the way that Americans treated 'dating' apps, Cerise couldn't really argue this. There was a good reason she had meant to uninstall that thing months ago! "I don't remember you being this much of a pessimist before," she admitted, flat-toned. Do not provide Maia with more ammunition for this! "I don't know if I like New-Mai's opinions."
"It's always been there." It just took a ridiculous fox monster to unearth it fully! "You only forgot about it." There was a short pause, before adding an announcement of, "you have ten minutes to get dressed before you miss your train."
Cue another cringe and, "shit," before bolting up the stairs. Luckily, Cerise had always been pretty good about getting ready in record times! Then again, it wasn't like she was putting on a lot of makeup! Primarily eyeliner, and mascara. After all, she didn't want to have to replicate the same look any time she met this guy. If she ever saw him again, that was. If she was going to lie about anything, though, it wasn't going to be her face!
Making another pouting expression in the mirror, the teen flicked her uneven bangs, briefly exposing a golden color to her left eye, before flattening it down again. Hopefully, it wouldn't be considered rude to only have one eye visible. And, if it was? It likely wouldn't change anything! Mismatching eyes could be a struggle to accept, after all.
Still, she managed to catch her ride to the necessary location, and with a few minutes to spare! "Mmm," an uncertain hum escaped the girl's lips, as she stared up at the restaurant's sign. Taking another moment to fix her hair and make sure that her dress seemed wrinkle-free, Cerise bit her lip. Well, there was no turning back now! Carrying a small clutch-purse at her side, the young woman stepped up to the waiter, glancing around. Luckily, it didn't seem too busy, and it was easy enough for the waiter to point her in the direction of one of the only tables that didn't have their entire party already present.
Twenty four was still a bit older than Cerise was usually interested in. But, approaching the table, she couldn't deny that he wasn't bad looking. Though, she had yet to prove that this was the right person, too! "Ah, 'scuse me," she murmured, a little more softly than she normally would have. American accent strongly laced the words, tinted with nervousness. Sure, she'd had conversations with Maia, and people on the trains. But, now she was starting to second-guess her fluency, when it came to a moment that mattered! Not that there was actually anything wrong with it! "Are you Mihai?"

Mihai had looked away from the door for only a moment. Their waiter having brought water and offered to get another type of drink for him. He was a bit too nervous to think of anything except maybe soda. He wasn't sure what she'd think of alcohol and thus opted out of it. Not that he drank much anyway.
"Ah, umm yes," he said standing up politely as she asked about his name. The way her hair dropped over one eye gave him the impression she was about at shy as he felt right now. He smiled and gave a small bow. "It's nice to meet you Cerise," he said his Japanese probably not much better than hers.
He made a move to pull the chair out for her holding it there so he could help her scoot back in once comfortable. It seemed they both went a bit formal casual between his suit and her black dress. It kind of relieved him really to know he may not have been the only one having pre-date jitters.
"I do hope this is alright," he said talking about the restaurant. This way they could cook their own food and eat what they liked. A good move on what he assumed was his brothers part.
"I do not do this much," he said being honest moving back over to his seat. "I might not be everything you expect really. My younger siblings set this up. I apologize on their behalf." He bowed his head slightly. He hoped it wasn't a deal breaker but he wanted to be truthful. If she didn't like the idea of this being more a blind date than anything at least the night was still young enough for her to salvage.

Bingo! It seemed that the girl had gotten lucky in her guess! Wouldn't it have been awkward if she had approached the wrong person? A smile curved across her lips, content about her ability to avoid what could have been a terrible situation. Returning Mihai's bow with a tiny one of her own, "nice to meet you, too." Was she being too formal? Don't sound too uptight!
But, as far as formal went, Cerise was pleasantly surprised to have her chair pulled out for her! "Oh!" She murmured, unable to suppress the surprise. American boys definitely did not do this! Then again, maybe that was the difference in ages, too. "Thank you," she added, moving to sit down, and accepted the assistance with pushing her chair in.
Taking a glance around the restaurant, the black-haired girl smiled. "This is perfectly fine. I haven't been to a place like this before," she admitted, some of the nervousness finally fading from her tone. It seemed like a nice date plan, though! She had to give him credit for that!
Or, she had to give his sibling credit for it, it sounded! While surprise flashed across her face for a split second, it seemed that Cerise wasn't overly phased by the admission! Instead, she opted to adjust her positioning in her chair, and glance down at the table. Was... she trying to hide a smile? By the time she had looked up, her expression seemed relatively serene. "I wasn't sure what to expect, really!" Cerise hummed, thoughtfully. "I didn't realize I even had that app still installed, until 'you' messaged me on it." It must have picked up on her location change, or something! "So, there's no need to apologize!" This was followed with a small dismissing wave with her left hand. After all, there wasn't much reason to get huffy over the situation!
"Though, I have to ask." The curiosity was getting the best of her, after all! "You could have cancelled." Or stood her up, for that matter! "What made you decide to come?"

"It would have been rude not to," Mihai said smiling slightly. It was good to know she wasn't angry about it or anything. "It is Valentine's day after all. If nothing else it is something that should be enjoyed since it is about love even just the friendly kind."
"That and my siblings did go through the trouble," he chuckled slightly. He'd still have to talk to them about their reasons later. "Mostly the former though. I don't want to be the one to give a young woman a bad memory. Rather I'd lead by example and hope she'd aim for a good man even if it's not me."
Admittedly he wouldn't mind being with a younger woman or an older one. He actually wasn't very picky about who he wanted to spend his time with. She did seem like the sort of person he'd like though. She was hard to read a bit with her hair in her face like that and yet she seemed charming.
The waiter came back over after a moment and Mihai looked at the menu sheepishly. He still couldn't read the language worth anything. Much to several peoples dispair though thankfully his boss and brother did keep trying to help him learn from time to time. He could at least point to the pictures and order some meat. It was a simpler place after all with no fancy names.
"What would you like,"Mihai asked. The menu was rather short since this place only offered meats to grill and some rice and a few vegetables to eat on the side. Then, of course, an array of drinks. It made him wonder if his siblings picked correctly. They would have asked if she was a vegan or something, right? He imagined it wasn't a detail his brother would miss at least.
He mentally prepared his short menu ready to jump in if she wanted some time.

Was he really that worried about being rude to a complete stranger? Cerise had to give him credit, there! Did it make someone considerate, mature, or a gentleman? Maybe, a mixture? Or, did that all really just encompass the last option? But, the piece about love had piqued her curiosity further! "What sort of date are you hoping for? Romance, or friends?" Cerise mused, though she tried to keep her tone friendly with the question. After all, she didn't want the phrasing to come off as rude! The teen just wasn't sure how to question it, otherwise!
Though, Cerise was beginning to struggle to identify if Mihai's thought process was politeness, or if he didn't have faith in himself! Crossing her legs at her ankles, the young woman tilted her head, thoughtfully. Still, she made it a point to tilt her head in a way that only caused her bangs to cascade across her face further. Intentional? No. Never. "Do you aim to be a good man?" That probably sounded like a strange question, but the American girl was curious! It was contrasting the 'men' that she was used to, after all! And the 'I'm a good guy' type usually weren't actually that good, when it came to their actual personalities. Of course, Mihai hadn't phrased it in such a way! But, it was obvious that her date was neither Japanese nor American, if his own accent had any say!
"This isn't your mother-tongue, is it?" The teen couldn't help but ask! It didn't feel rude, when it obviously wasn't hers, either! Then again, was Mother-Tongue a term that many people were familiar with? Ugh. She was suddenly regretting her word choices!
As far as what she wanted? Eyes lowered to the menu, giving a soft hum. This was one of the cases where Cerise found herself lucky to have retained early lessons on writing. Still, she hadn't been to a place like this before, so indecision was tough! "I haven't decided yet," she admitted. "Do you already know what you want?" Hopefully, that wasn't her not-so-sneaky way of getting an idea of what to order!

She was full of questions. Although he couldn't exactly blame her. It probably wasn't every day one met a guy who'd care enough to make sure a stranger was having a good day. If anything Mihai was doing his best not to become his father. A task he was succeeding at very well.
"I'm not sure, to be honest. I do hope we can at least get along though," Mihai said smiling. "I come from Romania actually. After our father's passing, we decided to try and build a new life here. For my siblings and myself, I try to be a good kind man so we can all live a good life."
One shouldn't speak ill of the dead. While he did imagine he would have to tell the person he would start to date about his abuse someday. It was not something to lay down on a first date. Especially over a good meal about to happen.
The waiter had lived up to his name long enough as he waited for Mihai to answer her. Mihai gave him an apologetic smile as she said she wasn't ready yet. Time to step up to the plate and order.
"Ah, I'll take rib roast, green peppers and corn," Mihai said politely so she could take her time. "For the drink, I shall simply take coca-cola."
"What about you? What brings you to Japan," Mihai asked after waiting for her order. He didn't want to make the waiter wait any longer than needed. He did have other tables to serve after all.

Cerise was definitely the curious type! She wouldn't deny that! Though, perhaps she should back off of the quizzing! Not everyone appreciated a game of twenty questions! So far, Mihai was doing a pretty good job at answering everything without fumble! "I'm sure we will." Despite the tight-lipped smile that followed, the girl sounded genuine! Perhaps, that smile was more to avoid seeming too happy. Considering her next line was, "I'm sorry to hear about your father, though." Not that she knew the man! Or, what type of person he was! "It must be difficult, with younger sibilngs." Even with a mother in the picture -- which Cerise had opted not to ask about because, with her luck, she would have found a way to make the date depressing -- it couldn't be easy on teens or children to lose their dad!
Listening to the order, the young woman grazed her nail down the menu. Chicken always was a safe option. It didn't really say what part of the chicken it was, so the black haired girl could only hope that she wouldn't be presented with something alarming. After all, they weren't just going to bring out an entire bird, feathers and all.
Right?
Japan didn't do that.
...Right?
Please don't have something weird. Please be thighs or chicken breast or something relatively normal.
Once it was clear that Mihai had finished his request, and the waiter looked to her, she gave an apologetic smile. "I'd like the chicken, with bell peppers and," there was a pause, while flashing a sheepish glance at Mihai. She swore, she wasn't trying to copy his choices here! It legitimately sounded good! "Corn sounds nice. And, green tea. Thank you."
Now that the most stressful parts of the night should have ended, she had plenty of time to focus on socializing! "A couple of reasons, actually," she chimed, with the first being her most typical answer, "my best friend moved here, so I thought I'd visit her." Then, for the less expected response, there was a small hum of debate, while she tapped the table. "And, I was invited to a gaming competition, to possibly join a team in the area." Two birds with one stone! Spend time with her friend, and delve into something that she was more than a little enthused about. Though, did that sound childish? Surely, it just furthered the fact that Cerise was young enough to be playing games! Where as Mihai... wait. What did he do?
"What do you like to do in your free time?"

Mihai appreciated her sympathies. Though his siblings were pretty good for the most part so it wasn't that tough. They all just sort of enjoy their new found freedom.
At least they enjoyed similar food. The waiter nodded announcing his leaving and went to gather their ingredients in a proper manner. Leaving the pair alone to talk once more.
It was good to have friends around the world. Being able to visit them was even better he surmised. Though her mention of a gaming competition had him wondering about his brother. With all the time he spends on his phone he wondered if he did gaming competitions as well. He was at least tech-savvy enough for it. Though Mihai himself kind of lacked the desire to spend time on the computer.
"I rarely have free time, to tell the truth. When I'm not working I usually make sure the house is clean, laundry is done, and cook for all three of us," Mihai said contemplating it. Ah, it was actually four now since Ioana refused to touch dog food. He had to cook for her too. He couldn't mention spending an entire day in another world for an hour in the human world.
"When that's done though I do like taking walks. Just fresh air, I do kind of miss the sounds of the birds in our homeland. We had a very nice garden for walking there. If it's raining though I do enjoy movies. Action mostly though comedy can certainly be a good workout," Mihai said chuckling.
"I'm not sure if I'd have the day off but I would enjoy coming to see your competition. I'm not that tech-savvy though. Spent all my time outside growing up," Mihai said truthfully. Though what he did outside he left open.
"Where are you from," Mihai asked realizing he still didn't quite know. Beyond being named and his own few questions he's revealed far more about himself than her. Not that he minded though. He was enjoying their date... acquaintanceship so far.

Rarely having free time sounded like a boring way to live. Though, maybe it was just because Mihai was busy doing things that he wanted to? Then, it wouldn't be so bad. But, just working and tidying the house didn't sound too amazing. If Mihai enjoyed it, though, more power to him? Still, it seemed he had a couple of pastimes that didn't involve being a housewife!
"Aren't there parks, or something, around here for walks?" Cerise inquired, feeling as though she'd heard Maia mention a park before. But, maybe it wasn't very wildlife-populated. Admittedly, the teen hadn't really had much of a chance to explore Shibuya yet! Though, it sounded like he had decent taste in movies! "Good genre choices." She didn't really have much else to say on the thought! Though, Cerise wasn't much for laughing hysterically at movies. That wasn't to say a comedy once and a while was a bad thing!
Mismatching eyes blinked with a bit of surprise, at the offer to see the competition. "Sure!" Would it bore someone who was more on the outdoorsy side of things? Cerise wasn't so sure! "I can text you the information for it, if you'd like." Then, there was a short pause, before a slightly awkward smile appeared across her lips. "...Except, since I was talking to your sibling originally, I don't actually know how to contact you." They probably didn't share the same phone! Oops! Hopefully, that wouldn't make things weird!
Furthering the focus on her, the next question made her realize that the young man didn't even know her origin! "I'm from Chicago, Illinois," she answered, sweet-toned. It was weird enough stating what State that Chicago was in. Would she have to say that it was part of the U.S., too? Or, was it identifiable enough? Only time would tell! It certainly didn't sound as exciting as Romania! That was for sure!

There were parks to be sure. Yoyogi was the largest and very beautiful. Perhaps it was just him not yet being used to the culture yet but he found the shrines and physical activities field not quite what he was looking for. He was pretty sure Shibuya had another one near its outer limits but he wasn't sure where. When one asked for a park they all normally thought and pointed to Yoyogi.
"There is Yoyogi. It's very beautiful but a lot of people go there," he responded to her inquiry about a park.
Mihai also felt the slight embarrassment of not actually knowing her number either but it was brief. He admittedly did not know much about Chicago he knew the states name though. She was American and he gave a slight grin.
"If you like aftor our date we can exchange numbors," He said in heavily accented English. A half smile forming as he hoped he didn't butcher any words. "I've nevor been too good with othor languages." He chuckled slightly hoping he wasn't giving any offense.
Very few people in his country knew English. Even less Japanese, that's why its taken about a year or speaking it constantly to make him this good. He was grateful to have such a patient boss and coworkers. They were still trying to teach him how to write and read their language but he knew that was a doomed effort.
"I do not know this Chicago admittedly but I know the state at least," Mihai said returning to Japanese. He was heavily accented in both but he did use his Japanese more since he was now living in Japan. The practice certainly helped. "Is it a big city or small town?"

Cerise had to admit, she had no idea where Yoyogi even was! She'd probably have to google it later on, or something. At least the girl could remember it by sounding kind of like a certain cartoon bear that liked picnic baskets and lived in a park! Not quite the same thing, but it was funny how easy it was to remember things if you just gave them something to be associated with! And, if she forgot? Maia might be able to help her out a little!
"Have you gone there before?" After all, everyone's definition of crowded varied! As a girl who enjoyed the nightlife of Chicago more than a couple times, Cerise could probably handle a bit of a crowd in an open place! It wasn't like it was that packed, right? Parks were meant to be enjoyed, not treated like a sardine can!
Now, there was a pause. Mismatched eyes blinked, trying to fully process that Mihai was now speaking English! Corners of her lips twitched, in attempt to keep her smile modest. But, a few small giggles escaped anyway! "Sounds good," she agreed, suppressing giggles. Giving a dismissive wave with one hand, the black haired girl was quick to shake her head. "It's not bad! I've been told English is one of the harder languages to learn!" Try telling that to someone who struggled to figure out sentence structure for Japanese, because it felt so backwards in comparison to English! Dare you!
Right now, it was a shame that Cerise didn't know anything about Mihai's first language. Otherwise, she'd probably have attempted her own butchering of sentences! Though, if he thought that his questionable English was offensive, anything Cerise could have managed (mangled?) would have just been taken horribly!
It was also really weird to have a question about how big Chicago was. There was hardly time to think before she had already answered, "Oh. It's kind of huge." Anyone from a tiny town was sure to be a little overwhelmed by traffic, alone! "It even has one of the busiest airports in the world." That had to say something about the city's size! Not necessarily good things, but it might provide some perspective! "There's a park district. Some of it's pretty... lackluster, though." Then again, it was easy for someone who had always seen a place to take it for granted, rather than to appreciate what was right in front of them! "The river even gets dyed green, for Saint Patrick's day." Wasn't that coming up? If this was Valentine's day, that would mean it was about a month away! Oh, darn, Cerise was probably going to be back home in time to deal with the tourists that liked to see bright green water.
"What's it like, where you're from?"

"Yes, a few times. It's best in the early morning when there are mainly just joggers. As the day goes on though a lot of people go there to enjoy the sports fields or the shrines," Mihai explained a bit.
Mihai smiled at being able to make her laugh at his poor English. He was pretty insecure about other languages other than his native tongue. Mainly because so many words were similar in Japanese it wasn't hard to offend by saying something the wrong way.
Mihai listened to her description of Chicago. The city sounded about as large as Tokyo to him. Meaning it was probably easy to get lost there too. More importantly green water? It took him a long moment to realize it would be for Saint Patti's day. He hadn't even thought that far ahead. He was more one for living in the moment though not that she brought it up he had to wonder if Japan celebrates it too. Mihai was about to answer when out came the platters and drinks on trays. Their food lined up and ready to be put on the grill whenever they wanted. The grill was lit and then the waiter backed away with a slight bow to leave them alone.
"My country is still rather green itself," Mihai said chuckling. "I grew up in Transylvania. The town is surrounded by farmland and rundown by all appearances. We lived in a mansion on the outskirts there. We would often go to Bucharest to the east. That place is probably as big as your Chicago."
"My city was a nice place. People were humble there and we didn't have any of the big city issues. It is quite the change but I don't dislike the city. You get to meet someone new every day. And even have surprises like this," Mihai smiled as he spoke. The city was growing on him to be sure. He still missed his home to an extent but everything he needed was here and his siblings were happy. He couldn't ask for more.

The park sounded like it was interesting, at the least. It made the teen want to see it a bit more! Maybe, she'd harass Maia to take her. Or, if all went well tonight, attempt a second date before she had to decide if she was heading back home! Curious thought. Best not to get ahead of herself, of course!
Mismatched eyes not-so-subtly watched the food being brought out. Not having been to a place like this before, the entire concept was pretty interesting to Cerise! For now, she'd wait and listen to what Mihai had to say! After all, it wasn't like she knew much about Romania! Wasn't Dracula from Transylvania? Or, was that someplace else? It was best not to jokingly accuse Mihai of being a vampire. The girl imagined he'd heard it enough times already!
"A mansion, huh?" Well, that sounded interesting! "Aren't those pretty huge?" Was there such a thing as a little mansion? Cerise didn't know. She never did research on mansions, either! Maybe that was another topic she needed to write down for research later on, when she was trying to avoid sleep.
Wait, did that mean that Mihai came from a wealthy family?
That was another question Cerise definitely didn't find appropriate to speak of!
Instead, she'd focus on the more appropriate topic! "Do you miss your old home?" Homesickness was a big concern, after all! When one lived so far away, it had to be a possibility! Not that the black haired girl was homesick at all. But, she had only spent a week here, so far! Who was to say how she'd feel, if she were here for a couple months? At least it seemed that her date was alright with the changes between a more country setting and a definite city one! Cerise couldn't really imagine growing up someplace that was... well. Particularly green!
Still, a smile slipped across her lips at the comment on surprises. "Cities are pretty good for surprises," she agreed, lightly. And, in a not-so-subtle addition, she stated, "hopefully, they're pleasant surprises, though." After all, who liked a bad surprise, anyway?
