"You already have a partner, you say?" Adrian asked Do. If he says he already had a partner, then where were they...? Then, the worst thought imaginable came to his head.
"You work in a kitchen?!" Shoutmon asked Chie immediately, drooling as he asked. "Is it possible for you to bring back food?!! Oh, please tell me it is!"
"Shoutmon, just calm down for one minute," Adrian scolded the red Digimon. "But speaking of going back... If you use the Digiport on your Digivice, it should take you to the last place from where you entered the Digital World. If anywhere, it'll take you to central Shibuya. All of the strange Digimon stuff seems to happen there."
"Yeah, it seems like Digimon activity is getting bigger and bigger, if random human girls are ending up here just by sheer coincidence," Shoutmon comments.
After a long while, Adrian couldn't keep quiet anymore. "I don't wanna jump to conclusions, but is it possible that your partner is... not around anymore?" Adrian asks. He felt horrible for asking that out loud, but he couldn't help it. That was the only explanation for any of this. "And was that Digivice around your neck... theirs?"

As Shoutmon interjected, Chie held her digivice behind her back, ready to open a digiport in a flash as she could tell this was going to end in disaster if she said the wrong word. Figuring there's no use but to be blunt, she made no effort to sugar coat the truth. "Sure, occasionally I might invite your owner for a meal and you could tag along, maybe spare a few treats from time to time. But if you want something regular, just hand me Adrian's wallet."
She actually wondered if Shoutmon would actually steal Adrian's wallet, if so, she'd feel so sorry that he'd pick sweets over a partner. Do was slowly tightening his claws as every bone cracked slowly, one after the other. He was fighting the possibility, clinging to the last shred of hope he has.
"I don't know, the last memories I have before reviving in the village of beginnings was while working a case, something went wrong, very wrong. We were blindsided by something, we couldn't escape, we tried to Digiport, last I remember was a spike narrowly missing my Digicore."
Chie could barely make heads or tails of the situation, working a case Shibuya river, until she believed she pieced everything together. The horror couldn't be hidden as her face went pale, running behind a large tree she leaned onto it sideways as she bent over before the ungodly sound of vomiting was all that could be heard to the other side of the tree. After a minute, she was just breathing shakily.
Do shrugged, unsure of what just happened. "Something I said or does she need to stay away from the clams?"

"What is a wallet?" Shoutmon asked, tilting his head a bit.
"It's a thing you use to hold things like your money, your credit cards, or your ID," Adrian explains.
"Don't you need that stuff, Adrian?"
"Yes I do. Which is why I'm not letting you just hand it over to Chie like that."
"Fair enough," Shoutmon says as he shrugs.
Adrian and Shoutmon both listened to Do explain his story. He assumed he and his previous partners were detectives or something. But then he brought up the spike... it must have just barely missed him. But Adrian had the feeling that it didn't miss...
Oh god. Suddenly Adrian didn't feel too good, either. He looked horrified, as well, if he was correct in his assumptions. However, he wasn't going full-on sick like Chie clearly was. He headed over to her to try and comfort her. "So you thought the same thing, huh?"

As Adrian came over, she realized what she had to do. It wouldn't be easy, or fair to Do at first, but it would be better for him not to know what happened. Bending back up, she leaned against the tree as she pulled out her phone. As she opened her photo gallery she leaned close to Adrian and whispered "Do not react, and you must keep this a secret, if he finds out, he'll go berserk."
Discretely holding her phone towards Adrian, she shown him the photo of the decayed hand bones she had taken earlier. She believed she had connected everything when Do mentioned Shibuya river. Still whispering, she felt sick "At least a few years old, from what I can tell from the severing of the bones, he was dragged away by something as strong as a car suddenly revving to full."
Do on the other hand was oblivious to it all. He tried to remember what happened before whatever he was fighting got the best of him, but even the fight was a blur. "Well, this is more boring then the village of beginnings."

"Oh my god..." Adrian whispered as Chie showed him the picture on her phone. He felt sick and bad and every possible negative emotion possible, "Why would you take a picture of this...? I mean, it's good that you did, but... WHY? Oh man, Do is not going to be happy to see this... don't show Shoutmon, either."
"I agree," Shoutmon says to Do. "What are they even looking at, anyway? ...oh, they've become zombies. That's what Adrian calls all those kids who just stare at their 'phones' all the time. What's so great about them, anyways?"

"Why? There was a note in the hand with a death grip that survived death, I got curious. I took an untouched photo first. Much to my chagrin it was four words written in blood. Find him, save him, something avenge." Chie looked over her shoulder, to get a glance at the digimon realizing the true extent of the danger she was in. Do, would freak out once the blanks get filled. Chie knew very little about the digital world, but she assumed the last thing she wanted to do was let Do go crazy if he figured everything out now. On the other hand, if he knew she was keeping the truth from him, it could also end horribly.
Chie sighed as she couldn't do much about this situation, it was unnecessarily cruel but necessary to survive. "Looking back, I think it makes more sense now, granted a few questions, but he can't handle the truth. I doubt he knows how much time has actually passed." " Walking back over, Do was in no way patient with questions. "What happened?Tell me, I'm not taking no for an answer!"
Chie pulled out something wrapped in tin foil from her purse, unwrapped it to reveal a tight wrap and Do instantly started drooling at the scent. "What is that holy scent? What was I talking about again?"
Chie tossed him the wrap as she herself figured it would be easier than anticipated to distract him. "Nothing, don't worry about it."

"Find him... save him...?" Adrian muttered. "There has to be some kind of murderous Digimon out there, then... like a serial killer. Whatever you got yourself in, this is very, VERY serious... what if this Digimon got back into the real world?"
Adrian then started thinking about other Digimon that could cause big problems like this in the Digital World... he felt like he had to do something about it...
"Yeah!" Shoutmon says, agreeing with Do. "Tell us what you guys were talking about!"
However, even though Do was fooled by the smell of metal foil, Shoutmon was not. "We wanted to know what they were talking about, remember?" Shoutmon asked Do. "You can't be fooled THAT easily by something like a metal wrapper, can you?"

Do shrugged as Shoutmon argued against his sudden change of mind. "I can smell through the seems of the aluminum, it's a light metal. " Do carefully unwrapped the foil and revealed the top half of some sort of concoction wrapped in a tortilla. It had grilled chicken mixed with lettuce, what appeared to be Dijon mustard, onions, and bits of bacon. Do swallowed it in one take, including the foil. Chie raised an eyebrow, focusing entirely on changing the conversation. "Is it safe to eat metal?"
Do blinked twice, dumbfounded by the fact that he never asked that question his entire life. "Well, my powers circle around me creating metal from my saliva, so who knows?" Chie face palmed at the pure nature of the DORUmon's brain, she has barely known him for a few hours and yet she has utter disappointment for him at this moment. Taking a breath, Chie found herself ready to snap at a moments notice.
Turning around, she looked to Adrian for advice, as she is almost ready to put her kitchen knife to alternate use. "Is it always this hard to get along with a digimon at first?"
Do shrugged as he interjected with an answer himself. "Wasn't hard the first time around for me, maybe it's hard because your a woman?"
Chie went silent for a moment, the first sound that came from her was the cracking of her knuckles one by one in her left hand as she formed a fist, but let it slide. She turned back around smiling, seeming to let it go, but her next words had clear viciousness hidden under the fake cheerful tone. "Shoutmon, have your way with him."

"You can smell right through the metal?" Shoutmon asked the Dorumon. "Well, what is it then?" Shoutmon didn't have to wait long to get his answer...
It was food. Specifically, it was a grilled chicken wrap, with lettuce, mustard, onions and bacon. It looked so delicious to Shoutmon, and he started drooling at the sight of it. "Could I possibly have so-" Too late. Do ate the whole thing in one bite.
"Aw, man..." Shoutmon sighs sadly. "This must be how Agumaru felt after I ate all the burgers..."
Adrian could tell that Chie was looking... very unstable. He was instantly afraid of saying one wrong word and making her go bananas. "Uh, no, not really..." Things seemed okay...
Then Do had to interject. Adrian's eyes went wide as Do said that incredibly sexist comment.
Shoutmon smiled evily at Chie's request. Finally, revenge for eating all of the chicken wrap! Shoutmon summoned his mic and stared Do down intimidatingly. He then started savagely beating Do mercilessly with his microphone, while Adrian just watched with widened eyes.

Do blinked twice at Chie's words, "You can't be serious? Can you?" Chie shrugged as she stepped back, letting Do get what he deserved for that comment. As Do got an onslaught of karma, Chie noticed Adrian's wide eyed reaction and crossed her arms. "Don't look like that, you could've stopped Shoutmon, but you didn't. I'm not going to let Do die, but he deserves a good smack on the head."
Do, blindsided by the barage of hits by a microphone, felt every hit. "Ow, ow, what did I say to deserve this?" When Do was about to be hit on the head, he spit out a metal bead right into the microphone, only to have the obvious shot rebound and hit himself in the eye and then had the microphone hit his processor. "Really? wasn't that obvious?"
Do stopped for a second to look at Chie, not exactly pleased. "It's been a long time since I fought as a DORUmon, most of my experience was as a quadrupedal based Digimon and-"
His sentence was cut short by the next blow, right in the computer interface. After getting knocked down to the ground, Do was groaning, then Chie finally stepped in, metaphorically. "Alright, that's enough, he learned his lesson." Confused, Do didn't exactly understand what happened himself. "Wait, what lesson?"
Chie took a deep breath, trying to maintain her demeanor was getting excessively hard. Normally it would be hard to get her to her breaking point, but any day that starts off with falling off a bridge to a murder scene that ironically was someone else's, is enough to start an exception. Rubbing the wedding band on her finger, the desire to freak out was apparent in her voice. "Correction, let's not give him any more brain damage than he's already got."

"There's no way that he is THAT dumb," Adrian says, dumbfounded by just how lacking in intelligence this Dorumon truly was. "Does he seriously not realize what he just said?"
"Or the fact that a shot at my microphone MIGHT just backfire on him?" Shoutmon adds as he puts away his microphone. "Finally, a Digimon who's dumber than me! And I'm pretty dumb myself!"
"At least you admit it," Adrian laughs. "Next time, don't beat Do senseless, or no more snacks for two weeks."
"Sorry Adrian," Shoutmon apologizes, "but he had it coming! He didn't even offer me a bite of that chicken wrap!"
"Anyways, should we get you back home now?" Adrian asked Chie. "If there is a Digiport on that thing, it should take you back to Central Shibuya."

"Yeah, that sounds, ugh" Chie started clutching the left side of her abdomen, her breathing went erratic then sparse until she fell over her side. Do running around in circles confused. "Ah crap, oh great Omnimons, what happened! What do I do, grab a rock for her to curl up against? Spit metal against the wounds? I never had a human that couldn't bandage themselves"
Chie coughed out a bit of blood as she tried to get back up but couldn't, gagging a few words in the process. "Rock? That's, for an armadillo." After rolling onto her right side, she ran her fingers along the left side of her body starting from her rib cage, to her hip, feeling for injuries. Needless to say, it was a painful experience. "What is she doing?"
Chie responded briefly, as the injuries started to take their toll, she could tell nothing was broken, but it never occurred to her that shock was intense enough to block out such an extent of pain. "Checkin', injuries. Nothin' broken. I think vomiting upset the delicate balance the fall put me in."

Everything seemed well and good... well, up until Chie fell onto her side. Adrian was mildly concerned, as humans don't just fall over like that, but Shoutmon was with Do, absolutely freaking out.
"Ack! What's wrong with her?!" Shoutmon asked, panicking greatly.
"I-I don't know!" Adrian ran over to help Chie up, regardless if she asked for help or not. You don't just leave someone like that! And then she started coughing up blood! Oh, this was not good...
"Are you sure that's a good idea?" Shoutmon asked as Chie started feeling for injuries. "There's a hospital in Terminus City, we can probably get you there..."

Chie tried to scoff at the idea of a Digimon hospital. If humans were scarce, that would imply knowledge of human physiology being equally scarce. The idea of an unknowledgeable doctor was enough to make her scared to her bone. An animal is most dangerous when threatened, Chie however was no exception. The pain didn't make her feel scared at all, it was the prospect of going to a hospital let alone one in this world. The last time she was in a hospital, a young doctor ended her mother's life.
Rolling onto her hands and knees, she tried to stand but the pain in her side was great. Her hands tightened into fists as a few drops of tears could be seen dropped from her eyes onto the grass. "No... Hospitals...."
Do, confused on the whole situation, wondered why Chie would refuse anyone who could help her. "Really? You're clearly damaged, why not go to a hospital? What would your mother say if she saw you like this?"
All the stress since that fateful day finally rushed to her as she looked towards Do with a dangerous glare that was full of furry, no longer trying to hide behind any form of class she grabbed Do by the chain and he was shocked at the response of the typically collected Chie. "Say that again, and I will skin you and turn you into a roast and then proceed to use your god damn fur as my doormat."
Do turned to Adrian, not wanting to go overboard with whatever he would respond with, potentially afraid that Chie might actually follow through on her threat. "Uh Adrian, would you mind giving me advice or preferably help out of this situation?"

"No hospitals?" Shoutmon asks, confused. "But why? They can heal you up in no time, regardless if you're human or not! And yeah, what WOULD your mother say?"
What was a mother, again? Shoutmon asked himself.
Of course, he regretted saying that when Chie threatened to do all that stuff to Do. He wasn't entirely SCARED of her yet, but she was a bit scary at the moment. He stepped back when Chie started grabbing his chain. He didn't want ANY of that.
"Whoa whoa whoa, stop that!" Adrian says, pulling the two of them apart. "What's with you, just threatening a Digimon like that? He was only trying to look out for you..."
"Yeah!" Shoutmon agreed with Adrian. "You're supposed to BE THERE for your partner!"
