Honestly, it was a little heartwarming to see such a new tamer in the Digital World. Despite knowing next-to-nothing about the world she was standing in, she still managed to keep up a good face, a strong point of support for her two bladed partners. Giving a slight smirk as the two held concern for their tamer, the Mikemon gave a chuckle:
"Heh, you have your own knightly guards there."
The cat gave a blink as Cassandra introduced herself. A Doctor out here, of all things? What were the odds: "That so? I'm Doctor Mikemon - 'Doc' or 'Mikemon' works." He gave a half-nod himself towards the three - and as Cassandra mentioned that she was lost, the cat gave a sigh. "Well, I guess that stuff happens... we'll get back to the camp, and from there I'll be able to point you in the direction of the nearest Trailmon station." He seemed confident enough that he wasn't lost - and as for Cassandra's offer, he gave a nod.
"That would be appreciated. I don't have any sort of mirror to work with to try and handle it myself, and I'd hate for it to not line up evenly." Indeed, the wound wasn't comfortable, but he didn't seem concerned with the damage. Without further adieu, Mikemon would lead the way...
... And, about a good six or seven minutes later, the group would finally make their way into a clearing, to perhaps a more 'specialized' camp than one would have expected for simply pitching up a spot in the woods. Of course, there was still a tent set up, and a small circle set up for a campfire, but there were two other points of interest. First, in the center of this clearing was what looked to be a cabin, its sole ventilation window revealing a rather dark, dreary inside. Second, off to the left looked to be a fee-standing metal 'container', pulled slightly off the ground. Smoke billowed out from underneath, suggesting a low-burning fire. Just what was the point of that?
The cat didn't leave that up to suspense: pulling the bag off of his shoulder, he set it down against a standing log, before pulling out a tightly bound plastic bag - inside were a number of insidious-looking white, fibrous mushrooms.
"These things," the cat growled, "have been the bane of my existence over this last week." Without even taking a moment to settle in, the cat stepped up to the 'furnace', opening a hatch at the side. "'Nocturne Whitecap'. Its supposed to be a greenhouse only plant in our world, used in controlled setting for medicine, but someone thought it was a good idea to try and plant it out here. And now whenever an insect or virus type breathes in its spores," the cat shoved the mushrooms through the opening, bag and all, before sealing it off again, "well, they end up like that Digmon. Worse yet, these mushrooms are proving to be quite successful growing out in these woods. Only got six months or so before the problem's too big to deal with."
The cat blinked at that point, realizing that he was venting - and it was far too late to catch himself for being a bad host! "Er. Sorry. Make yourselves at 'home', just don't mess with this or the cabin. Cas, I'm sure you're full of questions at this point..."

"Yeah I seem to get that a lot. It's a pleasure to meet you though Doctor Mikemon." She murmured giving him a polite nod in return happy to run into another colleague even if it was a digital one. With introductions out of the way the trio would follow after him with little fuss. About halfway through the walk Cloak, the Kotemon, had settled for walking. He and his twin flanking Cas on either side like the knights Doctor Mikemon had described them being. Though by the time they all reached the camp even Dagger, ever excitable, was rather subdued from exhaustion. Digivolving for the fist time having taken it's toll on all of them as Cas settled with little fuss on the free standing log Mikemon had leaned his bag against. Cloak was quick to scramble up to sit next to her while Dagger she sighed and flopped on his belly on the log as he rested his head in his tamer's lap with an tired sigh.
The Zubamon was asleep the second his eyes closed leaving Cas to sigh and pet him lightly as her Kotemon leaned into her side in exhaustion. The woman however watched Doctor Mikemon with tired, but curious eyes as she took in their surroundings and observed him put the mushrooms in the bag. Clicking her tongue lightly against the roof of her mouth she nodded in understanding. "We have something similar in my world that effects insects, but our insects are obviously much smaller and not digimon." She murmured eyeing the metal container thoughtfully.
"Questions though I think can wait till after I patch up your ear. My stitches are very neat, but I don't want to wait too much longer and have my hands become unsteady from exhaustion." Cas spoke motioning for the Mikemon to come over even as she pulled her medical kit from her belt, careful not to snag herself on the sleeping Zubamon half draped over her lap, and fished out a sanitized needle, thread, and some disinfectant wipes.

Heck, Mikemon wished that he could just crash right about now - he'd been chased by the Digmon for several more minutes than these three, and quite honestly he was running on fumes. Still, the doctor couldn't just leave these three stranded in the woods. Just how long had they been out there? Was her other group still waiting for her to return? Did she have any way to contact them?
Those thoughts sat in his head as he properly introduced the three to his camp, simple as it was. Dagger had already fallen asleep halfway through his frustrated rant, and Kotemon seemed like he was about to pass out too. Cassandra understood what he was talking about, at least on a much smaller scale. "Ah, those little buzzing things. Guess it doesn't look like much of a problem until its affecting something as dangerous as that Digmon..." The cat gave a sigh. Hearing that she wanted to get started on that ear, the Mikemon gave a nod, and would move closer to Cassandra. He'd sit facing her, letting that split ear stand for the doctor's observation.
He blinked, looking on as Cassandra pulled those medical supplies. "Quite prepared - are you trained as a field medic?" The cat gave a smirk: "You could honestly probably give some of ours a run for their money. Too many people rely on their 'magic hands'..."

"Few people realize how dangerous something can be until it's trying to murder them. Do these mushrooms have any sort of natural predator? Something that feeds off them that you could bring in temporarily until the mushrooms are wiped out?" She questioned with a tilt of her head even as she leaned forward to grasp his torn ear firmly, but gently as she carefully ran her disinfectant wipe over the injury to get rid of some of the blood and clean the wound.
"Sorry this is probably going to sting a bit. I'm afraid I don't have any anesthesia on me to numb the area." Cas murmured even as she carefully lined the torn edges up after she finished threading her needle.
"Luckily I usually carry the dissolving thread with me so you won't have to see me again to get these removed." She explained as she neatly an carefully began to sew up the split ear keeping the thread taunt and her stitches small. Knowing all too well that without painkiller the whole ordeal was likely less then pleasant.
"You're right though. I am a trained field medic. We call them Paramedics in the human world, but I also have my doctorate in veterinary medicine which means I'm an animal Doctor as well. So I'm rather used to unusual, hostile, and fast moving patients that are not at all thrilled to have my help." She explained a slow smile curling over her face even as her eyes remained narrow in concentration as she carefully tied off the stitches then wiped the wound down one last time.
"I'm going to put some medical tape on this to keep it clean since I doubt a pad will stay on the area." She warned setting aside her bloody needle for cleaning and sanitizing later as she wiped down her hands and pulled out some of her medical tape. Laying it over the clean stitches both front and back she nodded in satisfaction.
"Sorry I know that probably feels weird on your ear." Cas apologized as she leaned back and worked to put her things away. "Do you happen to have some water I can use to clean off my needle? I carry a lighter for basic sanitation, but I agree with you on the magic hands bit. I saw some digital healing not long ago and while did the trick I'm concerned what would have happened if there had been debris in any of the wounds or other complications."

Now, that was a thought: a natural predator that would scourge these mushrooms from the floor of the forest? "Hm... you say that so casually. Is that a common thing that's done in the human world?" Even so, the Mikemon mulled over the thought. "Well, I suppose I could ask the Floramon and see if anything can be done about temporarily restraining the rule on possessing these mushrooms. So long as that stays above the level..." The cat mulled it over, briefly resting his chin on the back of his hand. It could work, though it obviously had its own risks.
"Something to consider, I guess." He gave a slight blink as that cold disinfectant ran past his ear, and simply gave a nod as Cassandra spoke. "No worries, I can handle it." Past that, the Mikemon's demeanor was akin to one getting his hair cut: calm and collected, even as that needle poked through the sensitive skin that made up his ear. He did all he could to keep still, not a single twitch or movement given from either of those ears.
"Animal doctor, huh? Have to admit, the first time I saw a cat on your side, I did a bit of a double-take... but, hey, that training might get you a little further on this side than just knowing how to work on humans." He closed his eyes as Cassandra focused, a small knot at the end keeping the stitch in place. He was tempted to raise his paw and feel it out, but he trusted Dr. Cross' judgement here.
And a bandage, too? The stiffness of the tape honestly felt more awkward than the stitch, though the Mikemon complied. "Yeah, just a little. And... water?" The cat blinked, before giving a shrug: rummaging through the bag for a moment, he offered a capped-off canteen to the doctor. "Don't let the amount scare you, there's more supplies in the cabin than that," the feline cautioned. "As for magic hands, well..." The Mikemon sighed: raising one paw, he briefly let a green aura radiate around his hand. "They're still handy, but terrible at returning stuff to their original shape. The intent's more for emergency work, or healing during a fight where more intricate methods are simply impossible."
He let that aura fade, and then gave a blink, scratching the back of his head. "Well... first of all, sorry for getting you dragged into this, and thanks for bailing me out. I obviously never meant to get you three so far off from your own camp, so, please, ask anything you want."

"Occasionally though often times without taking extreme care bringing in something new to deal with the problem can be just as hazardous." She explained as she took the offered water and carefully rinsed the needle clean of blood along with her hands. Then pulling out her cigarette lighters she slide the metal through the flame before going over it and her own hands with a disinfectant wipe before she was satisfied that it was as clean as it was going to get in their current situation as set about packing away her first aid equipment once more.
"You might be better off if the mushrooms mostly grow low to the forest floor doing a controlled burn while keeping the flame out of the tree tops." Cas suggested before leaning back on the leg her slightly shifting earning a tiny sleepy grunt from the Zubamon in her lap. The twin's Tamer in question looking just as haggard as her digimon. Still she offered Doctor Mikemon a smile.
"It's fine. I'm sure we'd have gotten in trouble at some point and were already pretty far along in terms of getting lost. Would you mind if we borrowed your camp for the night till we can see about making our way back to civilization, wherever the heck it might be, come morning?" She asked with a sheepish smile before she paused the woman's eyes brightening slightly with hope.
"And do you happen to have or know where I can get a field guide to edible flora and fauna of the digital world?" She added not wanting to have to take her chances with the guessing game of 'will this plant kill me.'

Indeed, the Mikemon had a few options to consider - but as Cassandra cleaned the needle, and mentioned a 'low burn' to scorch the forest floor of the mushrooms, the Mikemon shook his head. "I mean, if this were a controlled farmland, sure - we could temper and control the fire. But out here in the woods that would be too easy to get out of hand - not to mention the number of dens and burrows we'd be putting at risk..." It was a casual thought to brainstorm, but easy enough to gloss over. "Not to mention, without a furnace like I'm using there, the heat and smoke would cause the spores to billow around and spread far further than it has."
That was fair enough of a concern, of course! But with those earlier ideas in mind, the cat gave a nod to the doctor's request. "Of course. I'm close to wrapping this trip up, so burning through a few extra supplies shouldn't be an issue." The cat offered his hospitality without question. "I'll even point you in the right direction tomorrow - I can either get you on Trailmon - er, 'train', to Terminus or Whitewater." That alone was simple enough, but at that second point?
The cat blinked. "... So the portal just dropped you off in the middle of the woods, then? I don't have something like that on me - mostly committed to memory. Those can definitely be found in either city at an information stand or whatnot, but I'd be a tad cautious..."
Why? "Well, anything you or 'Cloak' can eat," he nodded to the Kotemon, "is safe for the Zubamon, 'Dagger', but then there's stuff like 'Copper Fruit' or 'Iron Root'. For 'animate' types like Dagger, those are beneficial to their growth, whereas a pure 'organic' type... would be sweating bullets within three minutes."
That tricky, huh? "So if you do use something like that, skim more than just the first page."

"True the forest has too many unaccountable factors for fire to be safe. I'd need to study the mushrooms more to make a better more accurate suggestion. Unfortunately few solutions in this case are without risk." She murmured nodding along to Mikemon's assessment of the situation at hand even as she relaxed. Lifting an arm she carefully wrapped it about the Kotemon allowing the sleepy digimon to lean fully into her side as he dozed.
"So trailmon are....trains? The digital world has a public transit system?" Cas asked somewhat unsure and skeptical, but excited nonetheless at the prospect of not having to walk. Though the idea of living trains unnerved her a little bit.
"Thank you for being willing to share with us. I'll ensure when I get such a guidebook to read it cover to cover. I wouldn't want Cloak or I to become sick or Dagger not to get the nutrients he needs. thankfully neither of them seemed to have a problem with any of the food in my world, but I will still be cautious." She agreed finding herself rather thankful for the preemptive heads up on such a matter rather then being left to puzzle it out herself.
"Do you happen to have a blanket or sleeping bag we could borrow for the night? It doesn't look as though the weather will be changing for the worse tonight so I think if we just make a low fire the twins and I should be good to sleep under the stars and get a fresh start in the morning." Cas asked tilting her head up to eye the slowly darkening sky skeptically and hoping her knowledge of the weather in her world was applicable to some extent here.

Obviously, this wasn't an easy problem to fix - otherwise, Mikemon wouldn't even need to be out here! "It's all a bit risky. If it becomes worse, I'm sure you'll get a chance to be involved - but hopefully, we'll have it planned out in the next few days." The cat seemed confident enough, giving a small smile as the sleepy Kotemon leaned against the tamer. "Tired out, huh? Not surprised..."
Taking a moment to check on the furnace, his ear twitched at the next question. "Hm? Yes, Trailmon are Train Digimon. Though they use established tracks, they have the ability to project and generate new tracks as they travel. For their importance, they're some of the most favored Digimon on this side." It seemed convenient, but Cassandra was right to be a bit concerned, especially when one decided to do their own thing in the middle of a job. It wasn't as if they were bound by their tracks!
Re-stoking the flames of that furnace, the cat simply gave another nod. "Thank your partners for helping me out with that Digmon, too. If it were just a regular one I might have been able to hold my own, but that one completely lost the ability to hold back." The cat shuddered at the thought, taking a moment to recompose himself as Cassandra gave her agreement on the field guide.
As for a sleeping bag? The Mikemon mulled it over, and gave a shrug. "You can take the sleeping bag, and I'll use the tent and a blanket. Don't worry about guessing the weather, there's no rain in the forecast for another few days." Giving one glance to the sky, the cat sighed, and questioned:
"But are you sure that's okay? If I were your friends at the other camp, I'd be worried sick about where you three ended up. Did you have any place to fall back and meet up, or are they going to be looking out in the woods for you all night?"

"You welcome..." Cloak mumbled at least awake enough to register Mikemon's thanks before he nodded back off leaving Cas to carefully try to extract herself from beneath the too in order to set up their sleeping spot for the night.
"I'll let Dagger know in the morning. He'll appreciate the thanks even if he'll likely feel it was his duty to help out." Cas adds with a soft smile managing to wiggle out from beneath the two rookies leaving them leaning on each other as she stood and stretched. While the explanation of trailmon gave her pause she figured beggers couldn't really be choosers. The mention of her fellow campers though brought a frown to her face her jaw tightening with emotion.
"No. I doubt they're looking for me. Honestly a bit of time apart might do us good. Give them some time to think. They didn't take us falling into the digital world very well and blamed themselves before lashing out at us. I'll loop back around come morning and seek them out in the daylight when I can follow our trail or I'll follow the trailmon tracks. I think the little town we discovered isn't far from some." She explained letting out a soft sigh at the thought of Cole.
"I just don't think trying to find or way back this late when Cloak and Dagger are exhausted and I'm on my last leg is wise. My companion's partner will keep him from doing anything rash...that is if he even notices I'm gone in his anger." Cas adds with a light shrug.

How knightly! To that last comment, Mikemon just gave a smile and a nod to the napping Zubamon, sharing just a glance to the pair of them as Cassandra finally stood. To the mention of campers, Cassandra was quick to answer - though there might have been just a bit of bite in her tone.
This critical of a time, and there was already an argument? Well, it really couldn't be helped, especially if they didn't think they'd get to the Digital World like this. "Hm... well, I'll leave that to you, then. You're free to come along with me to Whitewater if you just want to get out of here tomorrow," the cat nodded, giving his offer. "With how active the forest ended up being, sending just one researcher really isn't that practical... and I have to admit, I'm not usually one to do these camping trips anyway."
That aside, he at least agreed to that last point! The cat gave a nod and a smile: "Supplies are in the cabin, on the left side. I'll grab you my sleeping bag from the tent - other than that, make yourselves at home. If you need me, feel free to give me a poke - and if something else comes around, yell for me. I might not look it," the Mikemon smirked, "but I have enough bite to me to drive most threats in the forest away."
If there wasn't anything else, well, it was getting late!

"Thank you Mikemon." Cas murmured her eyes softening as she glanced at her colleague, distracted from her thoughts or her other companion momentarily. "We'll decide what to do in the morning." She murmured helping him with the offered sleeping bag as she rolled it out by the fire before carefully scooping the small rookies up under her arms. Careful of her partners various sharp and pointy bits she settled down between the folds of the bag. Before pulling the flap of it up to shield her face with a tired sigh. The change in position earning a sleepy mumbled from her digimon as the shifted to get comfortable around her before soft snores could be heard.
"Good night Doctor." She called out into the darkness. "I'll warn you if anything tries to mess with us." The Woman adds before closing her own eyes in an attempt to rest. Sleep would not come easy, but come it would all the same. With Cas gradually relaxing into slumber for the night her exhausted body demanding the sleep it so desperately needed.
