“Where do you think you’re going detective?” A soft voice called from behind the man with the raincoat.
“Where I must.” He replied, turning around to face the gun-wielding woman.
“Where is that? You’re not making any sense detective.” She replied.
"I'll show you." He said.
The man smirked, and despite the gun’s grey barrel, he fearlessly approached the woman with one stern step at a time. Her fingers were shaking as she tried making herself wrap them around the trigger, but before she ever managed to the guy grabbed the gun and gently pulled it aside, a moment before the shot was fired. It was the only shot that was fired from that gun, seeing how the detective slowly leaned on the woman and pressed his lips onto hers, causing her to drop the gun.
“Detective?” The woman asked in confusion. The detective pulled back with a smirk.
“Now I have a treasure to retrieve. The second most precious treasure I found today…” He leaned on one of the windows, pushing it open.“…after your lips.”
With those words the detective jumped out the window, with really great music playing around him.
Then again, Monodramon had to wonder why the detective inside the metal box never seemed to hear that music that just started playing, or anyone else in the metal box for that matter. It sounded incredibly dangerous to have something that weird happen to you, and Monodramon knew he’d be quite bothered if he was trying to get by in the human world and suddenly music started playing out of the blue, probably giving away his position in the process. It wasn’t even the only weird thing about the things inside the metal box, like, everything was black, white and grey! For a moment Monodramon had to wonder if he caught a virus or something, but he ended up concluding it probably had something to do with the metal box itself. It was probably the weirdest of the human metal boxes Monodramon had ever come across. Humans had a lot of metal boxes, when he thought about it. Some of them had food, some of them had these weird green leaves all humans seemed to want to carry, and now this one had weird black and white humans with some kind of strange deafness to music.
Nonetheless, Monodramon couldn’t deny he was impressed. He was really impressed about the man in the rain-coat, and all the adventures he lived. It seemed really…cool! Yeah, cool. Who knew humans could pull stunts like that? It was still nothing like a digimon, but the WAY he did those things, the way he said those things, each felt like it was on a whole new level. If there was a mega level human, that would be it.
Monodramon’s stomach growled, so he decided to go check the treasure cans again. Just for fun, he grabbed this weird long fur thing and slided his arms on it, leaving his belly exposed. Picturing how he looked, he ended up chuckling.
“Detective Gabumon at your service.” He said, using the deepest voice he could muster, chuckling again as he took off to find lunch.
Unfortunately, today was not turning out to be his day. Monodramon wasn’t sure why, but there seemed to be less offering in the treasure cans this week. His stomach growled again, begging him for even just a tiny bite, yet Monodramon had nothing with which to answer his stomach’s pleas. To make matters worse, there was a delicious smell coming from not far away.
“K…F…C?” Monodramon read. What was that? His stomach growled that it didn’t matter. His mouth drooled a bit, and his eyes couldn’t help but follow the humans that came out of the place, carrying some of white miscolored pear, the most yummy-looking pears Monodramon had ever seen, and a whole BUCKET of them at that. Monodramon swallowed his droll. “I mean, I guess surely it wouldn’t be TOO bad if I, hum, took just a few of them, right? Right?”
Unable to hold back any longer, Monodramon pulled down an invisible hat.
“I guess I have no choice this time.” He quoted the detective, using that extra deep voice from before. “Chameleon Strain!”
Using the detective’s maneuvers, and his camouflage, Monodramon proceeded to distract the employees with other things like customers that suddenly felt ticklish objects suddenly dropping on the opposite side to where food was disappearing and so on. In the end, Monodramon left through the back door with as much “loot” as managed to muster out of that place, dismissing his camouflage as soon as he entered an alley he felt he'd be safe in, where he hummed happily as he bited down on the "rewards" for his hard work.
