Haru always had this sorta routine whenever she managed to get herself out of bed, usually way early in the morning when none of the villagers were up.
First things first was generally some gardening around town, such as uprooting weeds or watering the flowers. Surprisingly, not ever really ever seemed to take the time to do small things like this to keep their town beautiful... but hey, it's not like she minded. The girl tried very hard to be a good mayor for the town (plus give her poor secretary of a sister less things on their plate), so whatever little things she could do for it before taking the time to go goof was always her top priority. After that, she just had to go help Naoko sort some paperwork and then she'd be free to spend the rest of her day however she liked.
Usually once she was done, Haru spent the rest of her day doing pretty generally menial fun stuff like bug-hunting or fishing to net a couple of extra Bells, or fossil hunting for the museum. However.... today, Haru had some other fancier plans today.
The blue-skirt gogglehead was strolling down one of the roads of town while humming a small tune to herself (briefly pausing to shake down some cherries from a tree). She was a girl with a mission... though she had to admit, maneuvering around town could be difficult if she wanted to find a specific villager's home. They TENDED to all look the same... then again, Digimon seemed to prefer interior decorating than exterior, at least based off previous experience. Impressive how they always seemed to bring with them some super cool furniture or Gyroid she's never heard of... Digimon really seemed to have some excellent taste in home decorating at least in that regard.
The girl was peacefully walking down the small town, taking care not to tread on any of the flowers blooming around. Around her arm was a small basket she had personally hand-filled with goodies, such as couple of furniture turned into leaves for more convenient transportation, or some of the town's freshly-grown cherries. She even had a little letter she had hand-written herself to seal the deal! Truth be told, the newest villager of the town was... a bit cold admittingly for a newcomer, but she hoped that perhaps a warm welcome to town would change that attitude right around! If this didn't work towards sealing the deal, she didn't know what would!
Nonetheless, she soon found the house she was looking for... Tawna's house specifically!
The small house had some boxes from the recent move-in still outside, though they all were empty now. The girl walked up to the doorstep, knocking the door as she patiently waited for an answer.
A minute or so passed, but sure enough... her patience was rewarded as the door was pushed open by a small cat Digimon not even half her own height, two tentacles extending out from the Meicoomon's neck. A mild look of surprise seemed to be on their face as they looked upwards to the girl, their vision drawn off to the side. "O-Oh. Uhm... Hello mayor." they quietly spoke, a hint of shyness in their mannerisms.
Haru could not help but smile, trying her best to avoid gushing over the feline's cuteness. Nonetheless, she managed to keep her composure. "Hiya! Welcome to town by the by! I just wanted to drop on by and say hello! I know that it be a lil' sudden, but I wanted to make sure you felt welcome..." she cheerfully spoke before thrusting the basket filled with goodies into the Meicoomon's hands. "So I made you a lil' Welcome Package! There's some new furniture, plus some home-grown fruit too!"
Tawna's face had a look of bewilderment as the basket was shoved into their paws, they seemingly stunned by the girl's generosity. The warm reception was... not what they had been expecting to say the least. If anything, they were for the most part intimidated by both the mayor's strong forthcoming nature and their title. "Err... Thank you." they quietly spoke, flinching slightly as they place the basket on a table nearby the doorway before glancing at Haru. "...? D-Do you want to come in? I-I didn't really clean up the house, so it's a bit of a mess. Sorry."
Haru couldn't help but let out a chuckle at the cat's bashfulness, nodding politely. "Oh don't worry about messiness... You should see my place some time. I just kinda tend to plop stuff randomly around in a chaotic mess! Personally, I call it my special habitat." she joked lightly before walking inside.
Tawna's home was surprisingly orderly and well-arranged... Some sport memorabilia was strewn on tables or the walls, alongside a fat-looking blue gyroid making beeping-sounds occasionally situated in a corner by a sofa. Finally, a fairly fancy-looking TV was placed a couple of feet away from the sofa, with a mini-fridge close by. Frankly to Haru, it actually was way cleaner a home that her own... so she had no idea what the big deal was.
"Hey, this isn't that bad! Your interior decorating is rad! How many bells did some of this cost you?" the girl squeaked as she plopped a seat down by the sofa, the soft furniture cushioning her fall. Sometimes good furniture was hard to find... and pricy too! Seriously, some of those prices that Elecmon and Impmon put up for their wares was equivalent to robbery... she was still paying back her house loans to them still!
Tawna awkwardly rubbed the back of her head, a bit unsure what to say... She had not been really expecting visitors, and the mayor it seems has just sort of situated herself down now... she just offered a sigh as she soon joined the girl on the sofa. "Its... just something I had with me from the last town I lived at." she shyly spoke, a bit hesitant to speak.
The goggle-wearing human softly, pulling out a cherry that she had stored in her pockets (you'd be surprised how spacious they are... enough to hold all those dumb sea bass she kept on fishing up), soon beginnig to nibble on the fruit. "Oh...? I know your new to town, but I didn't think about your past one! What was it like? Why ya come here?" she immediately began to ramble, unaware perhaps of the discomfort she was causing the Meicoomon... she just genuinely wanted to know more about them!
The feline seemed to flinch for a moment by the girl's chatty nature, for a moment unsure what to say. This... really was not what she had been expecting when she had first heard about this town, though so far it wasn't exactly... terrible? The girl was nice, but certainly was on the talkative side... maybe too much. "My old town was too noisy, and I wanted to try and get some peace and quiet." she softly spoke, hesitant to outright say anything to offend the girl... after all, they WERE the mayor. "I-I apologize, just trying to get my bearings... I don't think I have your name?"
Haru seemed to blink briefly with mild confusion at the Digimon's question, though sure enough let out a playful giggle. Poor kitty seemed very flustered by her presence, but she was thrilled to bits to hear them wanting to know her name! She already was getting through to them! "Oh! My name's Haru... I know I'm the mayor, but don't be scared of me because of that!" she exclaimed, smiling as she offered a hand to the Meicoomon. "What about your name?"
The Meicoomon seemed to gaze at the girl with a hesitant look, for a moment unsure how to answer that question. "W-Wouldn't you know that already if you came personally to meet me?"
Haru snorted slightly, she admittingly guilty that her approach wasn't perfectly logical... but hey, everyone had their own style! "Oh come on... just humor me!" she laughed, her smile not fading for even a moment.
Tawna stared at the giggly young woman, but in the end fell victim to their overly cheery personality. There was just something about it that was so... infectious. "Tawna. You can call me Tawna."
Maybe peace and quiet wasn't what she was getting here like she expected, but maybe that wasn't a bad thing?
